  • Evangeline
Evangeline heard Fern, she had actually been up for a few minuites, so it only took her a moment to sit up and strech her arms.
"How long have they been gone?"
She asked, standing up briskly and turning to look up at him. Compared to Fern, most dragons seemed puny, yet compared to her, most people seemed tall. The two of them were complete opisistes sometimes, but they were good for each other, they balanced each other out.

    Abigail
The small air dragon had been watching all the commotion from the peak of a nearby mountain, too nervous at the moment to approach. Her talons gripped a rock tightly as she clawed at it, debating weather or not to approach in the long run or keep moving.

    Quip
    (Waiting on him until later.)

    Dorthy
(She is knocked out at the moment so XD)

  • Fern lowers a shoulder to let her on his back.
About a hour, I heard a commotion so they may be in combat.
He looks around, sniffing the air and sneezing, a little fact the huge Dragon refused to let any but Liz know was that he was very likely the only living Dragon with allergies. He perks his ears forward.
I smell a storm and hear thunder... But not our Rider's thunder, this is deeper and rougher, more primal.

  • Markus and Roth

Markus watched as the thunder dragon fell from the sky and right into a nest of hunters. Swearing loudly and vermently, he shook his hands lightly, dispelling his magic. He couldn't drop the acid now, he might hit the dragon, not to mention her rider who seemed like a one man hurricane down there.

I should ask Salazar to roast your tongue. Roth told his rider.

Tch, whatever. Markus snapped back. Just tell Zenna and Aerah that they need to heal another dragon, then get ready to go.

    Roth shook his head.

You never learn, do you, Markus? he told him. Fine, I'll do as you say. But if either of us die, I'll kill you.

    Markus smirked.

If either of us die... you won't have to. he pointed out.

    Roth huffed and contacted Aerah.

Aerah, there's a downed drtagon down there, she was hit by a poisoned arrow. Her rider is down there trying to help her. Markus and I are going to get you an opening... but you'll need to hurry.

    Zenna and Aerah

Zenna looked around at what was going on on the other side of the 'field'.

"Seems like who ever put on the lightning show is having the time of their life over there..." she said. May be one dragon/rider team should stay and try and help them...?"

No, Zenna... it is too dangerous. Aerah told her. These hunters have weapons we don't know... Gaia needs medical attention and so may some of the others. Go with Gaia or Myotis and head back to the HQ. I am needed on the other side... the dark dragon, Roth just told me this rider's dragon is down in the middle of all this.

"Then we have to help them." Zenna said. "We can't leave you and that rider to fight alone!"

  • MYOTIS & MYSHA

Mysha looked across to Illium as he rejoined the group, offering him a sharp nod once he'd finished speaking. The movement invited a brief spell of dizziness - evidently she hadn't fully recovered from the poisoning yet - but she was quick to shrug it off and focus on the matter at hand. "We're trying to come up with a plan at the moment, yes," she replied after a couple of seconds, "though I think our best bet now would be to take to the skies. On the ground we are sitting ducks."

As she spoke the rider edged closer to the split in the rock, only briefly stopping to shake the ache from her arm. Outside, she spotted her partner and the massive earth dragon obviously communicating with one another, and the others still fending off their attackers. "There are a lot less hunters around now than there were before," she reported back to the others, turning to face the group once more. "I suggest we make a break for it now. Then we can pick off any stragglers from the skies, as Elizabeth suggested, and collect any necessary supplies."

Outside, Myotis spared a moment to listen in to the goings on in the cave. 'I'm not sure,' she replied to the great earth dragon after a couple of moments. 'I think everyone in there has a dragon who can carry them. They'll be out in a moment, I think, so I can ask Mysha then. I will guard your left when we take off, of course, too.'

    BEL

Bel offered what she hoped was a reassuring smile to the youngest rider before turning her attention back to her partner and their flight path. She was struggling to keep her spirits up, if she was being honest; the patrol was scattered and still under fire from their enemy, and any strategies she might have tried to employ had gone out the window as soon as the fight had begun. That was the problem with having such a large number of dragons out on patrol, she mused glumly. It was necessary for the collection of supplies, but difficult to keep track of.

A sudden jolt interrupted Bel's line of thought, and she quickly re-focused on what had caused her partner to have to move in such a manner. 'That was a bit close,' she commented, glancing in the direction that the offending dragon had dived in. 'I wonder what caused that?'

If it had been anyone else, she might have been worried about the dangerous aerial antics that the other dragon had performed. As it was, Bel figured that Pisces and Lathlaeril knew what they were doing. Pisces was an air dragon, after all; no other creature could best them in the sky. It was just unfortunate that their sudden manoeuvre had put Nohki in their flight path.

    SALAZEL

Salazel nodded, keeping an eye on the thunder dragon and their rider below. He barely registered the dive of an air dragon nearby because of this, but definitely did notice their near miss with one of the other dragons in the sky. 'Looks like we made a good decision, staying out of the fray,' he commented. 'Things are getting more chaotic by the minute. Are you sure we shouldn't step in?'

As much as he could appreciate waiting for the right moment to make his move, the fire dragon also didn't want to hesitate for too long and watch another dragon get hurt. Then again, if it kept his rider and friend out of harm's way... maybe waiting wasn't such a bad tactic to adopt. Losing Claudius was unthinkable.

OOC: I've added a recap section to the first post on this thread, which I'll try to update fairly regularly ^.^

  • Nohki

The grim dragon let out another annoyed snort as he pushed on, idly skimming his eyes over the carnage below them. Those hunters were being oddly persistent, weren't they? The grim dragon was suddenly unnerved as he considered it, eyes on the sky once more. Why were they so persistent? Surely by now they would find it wiser to retreat back and regroup? The darkly colored dragon turned his gaze to the fighting once more, confusion sweeping through his mind and flickering weakly through the bond with his rider. Did the Hunter's have backup that they were stalling out for?

Too deep in his thoughts, the dragon forgot completely that he had been spoken to. Instead he decided it best to get Bel and the young rider beside them to safety, giving a strong flap of his wings.

    Lathlaeril & Pisces

Pisces swept upwards again, making soft sounds of pain to herself as the sharp ends of the arrows dug further into her hide. She kept going up until she felt safe enough to pause and give herself a moment to gather her thoughts. Thankfully her moment was not interrupted this time around and she was left to have a moment to collect her thoughts properly. She dove down once more, planning to simply scare the silly hunters. If they wanted to be impossibly stubborn, Lathlaeril had decided to just be impossibly reckless about it.

He was aware of the risk to both his life and his dragon's, but he had faith they could pull this stunt off at least once and get away with it before it was time for them to move on.

Pisces moved quickly upwards after she got decidedly close enough to the straggling few below her, letting out an amused huff of air as they scattered below her. She changed her flight path to join the others, moving faster than was really necessary as she went.

    Claudius

"It may be best for us to step in now." Claudius sent through the bond, though his reluctance wasn't hard to find.

"Just... Be careful about where you decide to join in. I'd rather like to avoid getting an arrow in my head because you decided to dive in wrong." He uttered, though it was only half joking.

He had faith that Salazel wouldn't toss him into anything too dangerous, just as he had faith his dragon could do some good in this fight.

  • Melody & Spar

Melody stood beside Spar at the edge of HQ territory. She bit her lower lip as she waited for the others to return. Her heart was tight with fear for she knew that something terrible had happened. Glancing up at Spar she said in a hushed voice, "Spar do you think the others will be alright?"

Spar looked down at Melody and nudged her gently. "Fear not Melody. I'm sure they will come back soon. We should be ready for them when they do. Come let's gather the herbs Zenna will need." Spar had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach and hoped they could help the others. Even if it was in a small way. She turned her head as she watched Melody hurry off to the herb garden.

    Theo & Magnus

Theo and Magnus were up in the air gliding above Blood Bound. He could see his sister below as well as her dragon Spar. Magnus gave slight growl when Theo wasn't paying attention. "Theo get your head out of the clouds! You've been so worried about your sister that you're neglecting your duties. Melody will be fine. Now! Pay! Attention!" He rumbled to his rider.

Theo shook his head and said, "I'm sorry but my sister hasn't been thinking clearly since our parents died. I'm worried that she might do something stupid and dangerous." Then with a heavy sigh he realized Magnus was right. His sister would be fine, especially with Spar at her side. Giving himself a mental shake Theo went back to focusing on the matter at hand. Protecting Blood Bound.

  • Evangeline clambered up onto his back, when she was sat down, she bit her lip and frowned.
"Are you suggesting a wild dragon or another dragon rider?" She asked, indicating that they should take off. "Bless you." She added.
Her head swiveled so she could look up at the sky, yearning that delightful feeling of air in her face. Yet, she had this dreadful feeling that something wasn't right, they needed to get to their friends.

    (Dorthy is still out)

    (Abby is still considering)

    (Waiting on Quip until later)

  • Elizabeth tapped her foot a tad impatiently. She wanted to get things together and going now. "I'll aid the rider that seems to be in a bit of trouble from what I can see from here. You all know what to do if you need me, just have your dragon contact my own dragon." She went into the details for Illium's sake, then with swift movements, sprinted over to Altus' side and took hold of the strap that held her saddle to his back then boosted herself up with a jump. She looked at everyone with worry for a few moments. She didn't like how all of this was going. There were dragons and riders that were hurt and she felt like she was at fault for not doing anything about it. With a long sigh, she looked directly in front of her and adjusted the straps on her saddle for her feet. "We are all worried, Elizabeth. You're all doing everything you can so don't worry yourself so." Altus spoke with sympathy in his voice while he glanced back at her for a few short moments before starting to walk. He figured it would be wise to take off a little ways away from where everyone who was taking it easy for the moment, seeing as some of them were simply not in the best condition to fight at the moment.
"I know, I know. I just can't help it Altus, and you know that." Elizabeth sighed one last time, then looked up. It was just to her realization that the morning snow would be stained with a fair amount of blood this day. "Let's go then, Altus. We can't just walk around like this forever, no matter how much I would love to." She muttered the last part out loud and to herself with a slight shake of her head, then prepared for Altus to take to the skies. If Elizabeth was correct the patrol was almost upon them. The thunder dragon immediately turned himself in the direction of where all of the commotion was and took off in that direction as fast as he could. Elizabeth had a death grip on the edges of her saddle, for she had no horn like some riders did, and prepared for the impact of Altus' landing. He made it to the area the fighting was occurring and arrived in due time then landed quickly and carefully in a spot where Elizabeth could aid the other thunder dragon and it's rider. "My name is Altus and my rider is Elizabeth. We have come here to aid you." Altus swept his tail to the left and knocked down a few Hunters that had just gotten to their feet after the enormous attack that this strange new rider had launched. To say the least, both Elizabth and Altus were more than quite impressed. Elizabeth for one had never seen an attack such as that and would love to get her hands on the information to learn it.
Elizabeth had undone her feet straps only about forty seconds prior to landing then jumped from her perch on her companions back. She quickly rushed to the other riders side and placed a hand on his back and offered him a hand up. it was only then that she had seen his lack of two intact legs. She immediately had a shocked look on her face and was at a loss for words. Altus on the other hand was busy keeping any and all Hunters that were coming at them out of the equation so that this stranger and his dragon, as well as his own rider, were safe till they could figure something out.

  • Deaf people can't really speak, since they can't hear themselves they can't make the right sounds to vocolize, it all comes out as unintelligible gibberish.

I have several deaf friends and not one of them ever makes a sound, I ask why and they start making these random noises and explain that it is the extent of their ability to speak))

    Fern nods.
Rider, I can feel it in two areas close by each other, one is dormant now, knocked out.
He takes off a bit clumsy and smoothed out in the air, massive wings beating the skies and lifting his bulk higher.

  • ((I know, but my best friend is deaf but she grew up speaking out loud most of the time, so she can talk normally other than her voice sounds a bit different then others, so I'm making my character after her. Also this character had talked already, having been 5, so she already knew how, mostly. And right now She is not talking aloud, really, I'll try to make that more obvious.))

Eva gripped onto the leather saddle, nodding along with his words.
'They'll need our help, most likely, just, don't rush in.' She thought nervously, not wanting to get involved without thinking of through first.

  • Being dead is a bit different from being deaf...))

We might not have time to think of a plan! And what's more surprising than a huge Dragon popping out of nowhere and breathing fire wildly?
He was picking up speed, the heat of his body kept his Rider warm and his crest blocking most of the wind that would get in her face.

  • OOC:

Deaf people can be taught to speak through various remedial ways, although you're not wrong in that most only make sounds, Wulfraider. However, the ones who speak the best are those who go deaf after they've learnt to speak (especially after their formative years). They know what the word is and how it sounds.

    IC:

    Markus and Roth

Roth barreled into the fray from the sky, landing in front of the downed dragon. He saw that Altus and Elizabeth were there as well. As Elizabeth went to help the downed rider, Roth and Markus both saw what she did and were impressed. This rider had quite a bit of skill if he coulfd do so much damage with such a handicap. Roth reared onto his hindlegs and gave a roar, acid spouting from his maw. Although he was careful not to spew too much so Elizabeth, Altus and the other rider were safe. Markus leapt up right on his dragon's back. his daggers laced with acid and hitting each target dead on. They may have been late to the battle, but they could at least give the other's some time to regroup, evac or plan an attack.

Let us hope Zenna or Aerah get here soon. he told Roth. This thunder dragon doesn't look so good.

The Dark dragon nodded as he stomped on some of the hunters which were in front of the small dam of acid he had created.

    Aerah! Hurry!

    Zenna and Aerah

Zenna nodded at what Elizabeth said.

"Then I'll keep them occupied from this side." she said. "If we can keep them busy on two fronts, we'll give those doing evac a greater chance of escape."

No Zenna! Aerah snarled. Get to the sky. You'll be able to do as much damage there!

"Fine." Zenna huffed, bending over to pick up a long bow which was still intact. "But you better come back, Aerah!"

The Soul dragon huffed a laugh.

I will. she promised. You just get back to HQ and heal the wounded.

Zenna nodded, then looked at Gaia.

"Is it alright if I get a lift too?" she asked the large Earth dragon.

Aerah gave a last huff, then flew over to the other side, landing behind Roth.

I'm here. she said. Now to take care of this poor dragon.

  • Gaia
    -x-x-
Yes, climb on quickly though. I don't know for how long their attention will be drawn elsewhere. Gaia responded, looking around as her left eye watered. The watering made her wounds burn, but she said nothing other than a pained hiss. The gargantuan lowered her head so the girl could climb onto her neck, Watch out for my spines though. I suggest climbing to my shoulders, less sharp things there.

    Abilene & Rhear

    -x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
    -following Bel unless interacted with-

  • That's neat, most of my deaf friends were born that way so I didn't know that tidbit. Thank you for that.))

  • ((Oh god, auto correct XD She is not dead, just deaf))

    She huffed, brows furrowed.
'Fine.' Eva thought reluctantly, 'We just have to be careful, we don't want to burn our friends.'
Soon, they would be in sight of the group, and hopefully whatever was going on. She rubbed her face with a sigh.
'I can't beleive we slept in so late.'

  • OOC: I get the deaf explaination was necessary but it kinda belonged in the chatting thread. OOC isn't for conversations.

    Illium & Hirador

Things were happening so fast now, but Illium was sure he knew where he was needed. Elizabeth had plenty of help already and she seemed pretty capable. So he wasn't needed there. Someone still needed to finish off the scattered hunters before they could regroup, he could do that. He turned towards Mysha, a plan already forming. "I'll cover you from the ground while you get to Myotis, then you can give me cover while I get to Hirador. From the the air we can coordinate our attacks to finish off these scattered hunters." he said with a smile. Mysha was a member of the Blood-Bound and he didn't want to disappoint.

Hirador continued to swat at the occasional hunter until I need him to do other things.

  • ADARA & NIMIS

There was fighting, dying, yelling, fighting.. Fear gripped at Adara's heart as she and Nimis cowered behind a large rock/tree/bush/something. They hadn't meant to get caught near the fighting but had somehow ended up being near it after all, they had thought of flying away but they were scared that it would bring peoples attention to them, and they would be more likely to be attacked. Adara's heart was beating madly, and she couldn't watch the battle, she squeezed her eyes shut tightly and curled into a tight ball, pushing up against Nimis for warmth, comfort and security. The fire dragon Nimis, who compared to the tiny petite Adara looked massive, was actually smaller than most Fire dragons, he was only 15 so he had yet to grow.

Don't be scared Adara, I will protect you if anything comes our way Nimis did his best to try and comfort the young and terrified girl. Being a fire dragon he was very warm, and Adara soon felt a little comforted by his heat.
Thank you Nimis, I just want this fighting to be over. Did you see the other dragons? Are they... those BloodBound people? Are they good people? She was scared of everyone at this moment. Closing her eyes she leant against Nimis again.
I believe they could be, but for now I would say we just stay here and not let anyone find us.
Nimis was watching the fight from where they were, though being a dragon he couldn't get a good view or else he'd be noticed. He was mainly watching out for any attackers that might come near.

Suddenly Adara screamed, and Nimis turned, without having seen what it was he knew where and what it was, he could practically see through Adara's eyes, and she through his, they felt what each other felt, and knew what each other wanted, and was thinking. He quickly moved into position so that Adara was completely surrounded by himself, so that if anyone tried to attack her they would only get him. The scarred fire dragon let out a roar, shooting a burst of fire out at the ground in front of the Hunter who had found them. The ground erupted into flames, forcing the hunter back, Nimis knew Adara didn't like fighting and especially didn't like killing, so he was wary to do so. The Hunter seemed to be yelling, drawing more people, Nimis could feel Adara's fear and panic rising, and it was making him panic too. He let out another roar as he blew more fire at them, this time a little off aim, catching some of the hunters clothes/armour and hair. An arrow came shooting through the fire and bounced off of Nimis' scales.
Stay down Adara, I do not want you hurt, if we must we will fly out of her, but for now just stay behind me and do not panic. He was probably a weird looking dragon to most, his wings were torn in places, with scars showing that they were even worsely torn at some point. He had burn marks, unusual to most, and patches where scales were missing.

Adara herself was also unusual. Being a 15 year old girl, she was actually very beautiful, until you noticed the scarring. The right side of her face, down her neck, her right arm and part of her side was a burn mark, obviously from a horrible fire. She had a scar that ran down her left arm from the wrist to the armpit. She was wearing a simple peasant dress, amber in colour, and hair had two braids on the side, and the rest of it left unbraided down the back.

  • MYOTIS & MYSHA

Mysha perked up as she listened to the plan of attack outlined by the other riders. "Sounds good to me," she replied, shooting Illium a rare (and decidedly fierce) grin, before darting out from the safety of the rock. She waited a couple of moments to assess the situation outside and give the ice dragon's rider time to get in position, then made a break for where Myotis stood next to the other dragons. Given the larger concentration of hunters in the area, she was glad to have someone to watch her back. It seemed that Illium would be a good addition to the Blood-Bound, battle-hardy and adaptable as he seemed to be.

Myotis raised her pale head as she heard her rider approaching, though any gratitude she may have felt was quickly replaced with alarm. As she made her dash for the light dragon, one of the hunters who had been trying to reach the riders was making a move to intercept Myotis' partner. With Mysha and the enemy so close, Myotis didn't want to risk hurting the wrong person with a clumsily timed attack. Instead she settled for projecting a warning. 'Look out, Mysha!'

    BEL

Bel watched as their flight took them over the worst of the conflict and out towards where Gaia, Zenna, and the others were preparing for evacuation by the split rock. It was only at this point that she noticed something strange. On the outskirts of the forest, there seemed to be another fire raging, yet Salazel - the only fire dragon to fly out with the morning patrol- was quite some distance from that area. Could there be another fire dragon nearby? It wasn't impossible, with the ongoing battle making it hard to keep an eye on every part of their surroundings at once.

Now that they were away from the worst of the conflict, however, Bel had the time to catch her breath and really focus on everything that was going on. Around the unexplained blaze, she thought that she could just about make out the silhouettes of humans against the firelight. There weren't any dragons that she could see, so perhaps they were hunters looking to cause more trouble? Bel couldn't be sure, her weak eyesight hindering her so.

'Say, Nokhi,' she turned to her partner instead, 'do you see that fire down there? Are any of our people caught up in it, can you see?'

A frown creased her forehead. As much as she wanted to take Abilene and the other riders and leave, she didn't want to leave the enemy unchecked either, or leave behind any riders who might be in need of their aid.

    SALAZEL

Salazel changed his flight path in response to his rider's words, attempting to send a reassuring message across the bond as he did so. 'Please, as if I'd ever let anything like that happen to-' the rest of his reply was lost when a stray arrow forced him to roll to one side, narrowly missing Claudius and almost clipping the fire dragon's wing. After a couple of moments he had managed to right himself, however, and was soon swooping down to where the perpetrator was cowering; ironic as it may have been, Salazel didn't appreciate the timing of the archer below, and made that fact abundantly clear by shooting a fireball back at the offending hunter.

'Ugh,' he grumbled, landing a short distance away from where the woman had fallen. He dipped one wing so that Claudius could dismount (his rider had more of an advantage when fighting on the ground, after all), before moving his gaze across to where Elizabeth, Markus, and the others were fending off the last of the hunters. 'Those humans do like to cause trouble, don't they?'

OOC: @suzykururu there is now an up-to-date recap section on the first post of this thread! Good to see you back, let me know if I can help with anything else ^.^
