Mataethuud was wrecking havoc on the hunters with his wild, destructive fighting style. The Rider never seemed to be where they thought he was, for once his rudementary one-legged style was working as it should because his crippled leg rarely touched the ground at all.
"You want a real threat Hunters? How does Thunderlord Mataethuud and The Skybane sound?"

Zenna and Aerah
Zenna jumped down from the rock, narrowly avoiding an arrow and landing next to Elizabeth when her crossbow bolts ran out, although she had seen Mataethuud wreaking havoc as she did.
"Either there's a mad man out there, or we have another dragon-rider combo who have come to our aid." she told the other rider. "Either way, we need to be able to take to the skies to escape."
She turned to Aerah who was finished healing Mysha.
Is she going to be okay? she asked the Soul dragon.
She'll be fine. Aerah answered her. But she'll need to rest awhile...
She lifted her head as she heard a ruckus on the other side of the rock.
We need to go... I have a feeling this new dragon and rider have things covered. she told her. I'll get in touch with Gaia. Between us dragons here, we should be able to evac all you humans.
Zenna nodded, then turned to Elizabeth and Illium.
"Aerah is going to try and get hold of Gaia." she told them. "With her help, we should be able to get out of here while whoever is out there has the hunters distracted."
Gaia. Aerah called to the other dragon. We need your help to evac the riders here behind the rock with a split in it.
Markus and Roth
Markus let a ball of acid fly before he realized what eas going on down below. Luckily he hit hunters and not the rider whose thunder dragon hovered above the battle like a large thunder cloud, lightning sweeping out of its maw.
That was close. he mused to Roth.
You're too reckless, boy. Roth answered. What do you think would have happened if you'd hit our side? But I didn 't... so let it go, old male. Markus answered him.
Roth rolled his eyes.
Just be glad the thunder dragon was here to help... he rumbled, then growled lightly. And speaking of the thunder dragon...
Markus looked over to the dragon and frowned. He could see what looked like a stick stickinbg out of its thigh. An arrow!
I hope that's not poisoned. Markus mused.
Probably is. Roth answered. All the others seem to be.
Then we need to get it to Aerah or Zenna! Markus said.
With a rumble in agreement, Roth flew over to the Thunder dragon.

MYOTIS & MYSHA
Myotis smiled, relieved, as she felt the haze over her rider's mind lift. Before long it was if the arrow hadn't even hit the woman at all; the wound it left behind disappeared in front of the light dragon's eyes (well, nose) as her ally set about using their healing magic. 'Thank you, Aerah,' Myotis projected once the process was complete, smiling gratefully in the soul dragon's direction. She then extended the mental link to all the dragons who had helped her and the riders. 'Thank you all.'
Mysha, meanwhile, had just finished getting her bearings in time to catch the end of the other rider's conversation. She made to go over and join them, wobbling slightly as she got to her feet before finding her balance again and shaking the ache out of her legs. Being poisoned was never fun, though luckily it was easy enough to recover from with a soul dragon's assistance. Both herself and Illium could testify to that.
"I think I saw the rest of the patrol arrive before my, ah, accident," she added once Zenna had finished speaking, nodding to Elizabeth and Illium as she did so, "though you probably know about that already. Either way, I agree. The Hunter's should be more worried about our allies than us now. We should make a move to escape."
BEL
'Thank you, Nohki,' Bel replied. With the other riders getting involved in the battle, the tide seemed to be turning in their favour, despite the risk of friendly fire that came with fighting alongside thunder and dark dragons. Then again, it did make Bel's ability somewhat redundant; if she wasn't careful when she projected her grim aura, she could easily affect one of the many riders or dragons nearby within its radius as well as the Hunters.
Her gaze once again went to where Gaia was fighting off the bulk of the Hunters, and she pondered what to do. 'Perhaps if we got closer, we might be able to deter some of the stragglers from returning to the fray,' she eventually projected. 'Some of these Hunters look ready to bolt already anyway - I think Gaia and the other dragons gave them a bit of a nasty shock.' A smirk spread across Bel's face at the thought. She certainly wouldn't want to meet some of them out in the forests, especially a gigantic earth dragon such as Gaia.
SALAZEL
Salazel watched as the attacks of his thunder and dark dragon comrades swept through the group of Hunters below. Thanks to the combined efforts of them and the other dragons, the battle was almost theirs. He took the opportunity to spit a fireball at one of the men that Gaia had knocked down, being careful not to catch Rhear in the crossfire as the newcomer had done with their initial attack.
'These people don't stand a chance against us,' the fire dragon commented to his rider, a twisted sense of pride radiating across the bond as he inspected his handiwork from afar. It didn't last for long, however, until he had to dodge an arrow sent in his direction in retaliation. Taking out the individual archers was not an easy thing for Salazel to do, given his magic, so he settled for flying out of range instead, huffing in annoyance as he did so.
'Do you want to get closer, or should be focus on helping the other riders evacuate? Things are getting a little hectic around here.'
-
Dorthy there is something in your leg, get it checked out for toxins now, I'll hold out until then.
Mataethuud was still untouched and whipping through the Hunters with little resistance, easily scattering any attempts to regroup and encouraging attempts to flee, lightning was everywhere and his halberd scythed through shield, armor and bone alike to damage morale. -
Gaia
-x-x-
Hearing Aerah's summons, Gaia turned her large body away from the fight, examining the ground to find the split rock. Several arrows bounced off her helmet, but she ignored it. The metal was too thick for an arrow-
She heard a sizzle.
sssssSsSsSssSsSSSSSSSS~!
The side of her head burned. With a pained roar, Gaia ripped the helmet off and dropped it, rubbing her burned face against the ground in an effort to get off whatever had landed on her armor.
Nearby, a hollow arrow lay bent and broken, the insides dripping with a thick greenish-black liquid.Once the burning had stopped (mostly), Gaia lifted her dirt-covered head and turned, resuming her search for the split rock. She found it quickly enough.
"Everyone hurry and climb on! We need to get out of here before they shoot another of those arrows!"
She waited patiently for them all to climb on, grabbed her helmet, and lifted off, squinting her left eye.
Abilene & Rhear
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
Abi gasped at the abnormal arrow, crying out in fright as it made contact with Gaia's headgear, burning through it like acid.
"BEL! What's wrong with Gaia?" -
From where Elizabeth was, she could easily see the fight going on only mere meters away. A newcomer started her when he had entered her line of sight. She was convinced for a few moments that he was a hunter until she saw him using magic, thunder magic to be exact. She smirked for a moment to herself before she finally decided to look away and look at the matter at hand. "What about our supply run? We could wipe out the remainder of the hunters here since there shouldn't be to many of them left, so they'd be easy to pick off. Then we could go about getting to our supplies and heading back home." The blonde blonde piped up, refusing to let her hard work towards arranging where the supply pick ups would occur, therefore she would exercise every option she had left thoroughly.
Altus, all the while, was now airborne. He had a few injuries, including a few broken spears sticking out of him, a light slice in his right wing membrane, although it wasn't to bad seeing as he was indeed flying, and the one he deemed to worst was a slice across his belly that ran a little deep but it wasn't so bad that he'd need immediate medical attention. He searched the ground for his rider for a minute or so, and eventually spotted her in the split rock that a fair few riders had gathered at. Altus himself was not exactly please with the new visitor that had arrived. It was thunder dragon like himself and what appeared to be a rather physically impaired rider. Perhaps Elizabeth would like to try and show them what she was made of? He would have to see when he landed. It took him about five minutes to find a close enough place to land to the rock that was safe for those who were gathered.
Upon Altus' arrival at the split rock, Elizabeth looked over to him, the same idea he had popping into her head. Perhaps they would show this new arrival what they were made of.

Mataethuud decides to end this.
"EVERY RIDER GET DOWN NOW!"
He lifts his halberd to the sky and pulls on his Bond, the clouds abruptly gather into a single funnel crackling with lightning and smashes to the ground with an incredible explosion of electricity. The impact point caused a thick cluster of Hunters to vaporize instantly and sends a powerful shockwave outwards, knocking dozens more off the cliffs. His power had somehow left Dragons and Riders nearly unharmed except for sudden near deafness from the sound. Thunderous Devastator, a spell available only to the Riders of Thunder Dragons, and only to those of incredible power and experience.
Mataethuud staggers after the spell, putting weight on his bad leg and crumbling to the ground, his armor smoking and sizzling with heat.
We need to get out now, before what few hunters remain manage to regroup, I'll not be able to cast a spell like that for a long time now. But the situation called for it. -
track :)
-
Dorthy had heard her rider, but knew at the same time she wouldn't make it that far, and she couldn't really reply, which was odd. She had been shot a few more times, so she could feel the toxin as she soared closer to the ground, wings giving out. Her rider cast a spell which, for some odd reason startled her and caused her to land weakly on the ground. When she landed, she saw that she was within a group of hunters. For self defence, she shot a few weak bolts of lightning out at them, yet she was surprised that they were still standing. Alive. Her mind became fuzzy and her senses dulled as the hunters pinned her down. The put a metal muzzle on her. A muzzle.
-
Mataethuud struggles to his feet, pissed off beyond belief now that the survivors dared to do such a thing to his Dragon. He finds a Second Wind and lifts his halberd.
"Take off the damn muzzle now, I'll I'll put a Chained Lightning Bolt through all of you at once, I have enough power to do that at least."
His halberd crackles with Lightning, adding credence to his statement. -
MYOTIS & MYSHA
Mysha nodded at Elizabeth's comment. "We need to regroup, pick off any stray hunters, then finish our patrol," she agreed, looking around at the others. "At least we definitely have enough people to pick up our supplies, now."
Outside, Myotis looked up with a start as Gaia raced towards the group. 'Thanks for the assistance,' she projected to her ally upon hearing their cry, sniffing at the larger dragon's wound with concern. The earth dragon had evidently taken a hit for them, but Myotis couldn't discern what the damage had been caused by. 'What on earth are the hunters using now, dare I ask? That helmet reeks of death. Do you think you should get that seen to before flying anywhere?'
BEL
"I'm not sure, Abilene," Bel called across to the youngest rider, raising her voice so she could be heard over the sounds of battle. "We should steer clear of it, at any rate. Here, follow me and Nohki. We'll lead you to the others, and to safety." With a new weapon being introduced by their enemies, Bel didn't want to take any chances and risk the lives of her allies. She was determined to see Abilene back to the Blood-Bound's compound without injury.
SALAZEL
Salazel let out an angry hiss as he saw some of the Hunters' trappers trying to corner the new arrival. Those kind of hunters were the worse, the fire dragon thought, taking away the freedom of creatures that so obviously belonged in the open sky. Quickly, he angled his wings downwards and soared closer to where they were fighting, ready to step in if they needed his help.

OOC: Hey, so @Wuldraider I would ask that you try and tone down your character's powers, please. Having a spell that literally vaporises people is a bit too OP, I have to say. Riders have limits to their magical ability; I would say that thunder dragon riders would be able to create a shock wave that would paralyse/shock people within a certain radius, or create a concentrated blast of electricity that causes more damage but can only be focused on one person at a time. Thunder dragons themselves have quite a powerful breath aspect in the form of lightning, but again this is only slightly stronger than what an experienced rider can produce.Keep it reasonable, and if you have any doubts as to whether something is or not, feel free to ask me beforehand! This applies to anyone who has question about magic abilities, naturally. Certain abilities can be tweaked, of course (such as Anemone's character sometimes using her lightning alongside her swords to shock her enemies), as long as it doesn't completely take away the challenge of combat.
*** On a less ranty note, the dragon hunter rp is final up, and can be found here if anyone is interested! Eventually there might be crossovers between that thread and this one, I hope, though I'll give you all fair warning and a say in what happens if that is ever the case c:
-
I'll redo then))
Mataethuud growls in frustration.
"Damnit, too long..."
He summons more Lightning into his halberd and channels it. Unleashing it in a Chain Lightning spell that begins ramming through the ranks of the hunters, the first few had holes blown through their chests but as it kept going it got weaker little by little, still doing considerable damage but not enough to kill instantly. He casts this one or two more times before deciding he was using too much power and charging off to help his Dragon. -
Low muse -_-
Gaia
-x-x-
"Don't worry about my head, the burning has stopped. I may need you to guard my left side... My eye is blurry and I can't see well on that side. My right eye is fine for now. Is there anyone else I need to carry?" she asked, opening her wings to lift off.Abilene & Rhear
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
"Ok! We'll follow you!" Abi called back, leaning down against Rhear's neck as he drifted closer to Bel before following her wherever she decided to lead.

Nohki
Nohki chuffed softly in response to her words, moving carefully along. He listened as she spoke with the young rider, quietly shifting his path to change where he was going. Safety now, not battling. As much as he'd like to head down there and drain those pathetic whelps he knew that wasn't the wisest course of action as he risked harming his companions in the process.
He snapped his jaws irritably as Pisces and Lathlaeril whizzed by, trying not to jerk violently enough to toss Bel from her saddle. He followed the pastel colored dragoness as she took a sudden descending flight downwards, trying to figure out what she was doing. He shook it off in favor of his own rider's safety, flying on once more.Pisces and Lathlaeril
Pisces was startled when an arrow pierced her flank, attempting to move out of harms way again at Lathlaeril's frantic command to do so. The small dragon earned another arrow into one of her legs for the troubles and found herself panicking and in a foolish movement she was nearly crashing into Bel and her Grim dragon.
Then she was spiraling down and Lathlaeril was cursing for all he was worth. She really couldn't blame him though, falling like this was scary. She knew they'd be fine though, she was just trying to get those silly hunters to leave her be.Claudius
Claudius kept his eyes on the fight, suggesting they move closer but not to enter the fight completely just yet. He was startled from his thoughts when Salazel moved, though he quietly praised the dragon for seeing something he hadn't.
"Don't step in just yet, Salazel. But be at the ready." He stated through the bond, though it seemed unnecessary. -
Dorthy huffed loudly, watching as the hunters around her all stumbled back, although she couldn't really tell what happened, as her vision and hearing was going blurry. Her wings had been tied together swiftly, with something that seemed impossible to break through! She looked up and saw another dragon, dragons , although her rider is quite powerful, are more powerful than people, they are stronger then people, right? Her head lifted slightly, although it was quite hard, and tried to locate the dragon again, seeing 1, 2, 3 of him floating in the air. A small, muffled moan escaped her maw before the small dragonesses head slumped back onto the ground and her eyelids flickered shut. Maybe she would die, after all her at Matty had been through, was she about to die at the hands of hunters? She forced a singular message that was loud and clear our to any dragon near. 'Don't let him die.'
OOC: I love having made this character, she is so over dramatic XD
EDIT: She will be finneeeeee, this poison insnt strong enough to kill her, just knock her out and probably have her sore for a while, -
Don't you dare kill her, I was underwhelmed by the name but Dorthy is bae))
Matt snarls in sudden fury, spurred on by his Dragon's weakness, no longer using his magic but swinging his still dangerous weapon around in wide, scything arcs that sprayed blood in all directions.
"Dorthy!" -
Illium & Hirador
Illium had been so focused on watching the other side of the rock that he didn't notice that Mysha was no longer laying on the ground beside him until he heard the chatter from the other riders. She sure bounced back fast, he thought to himself with a chuckle. Then he headed over to the group of girls to see what their next move was. "So, your the Blood-Bound. Guess you've got a plan for what comes next." he added with a smile. Even though the fighting was getting plenty dangerous as the hunters revealed new weapons to fight their dragons, he couldn't help but smirk. Not being alone was way better than being alone.
Hirador felt a tugging sensation coming from his back. It was then that he realized a really brave or really stupid hunter was pulling on the rope that Illium had used to rappel off of his back at the beginning of the fight. He couldn't help but give a toothy grin as he swatted the annoying hunter aside with one of his paws (do dragons have paws). The hunter was flung into a nearby tree and the sickening snap of bones could be heard with the collision. He then turned his attention towards Illium, feeling through the bond that he might be needed soon.

Tracking, too tired and late to post now <3

Fern stretches his wings and lets out a yawn worthy of a Earth Dragon. His rust/gold colored scales rattling, he looks around and then down at his Rider, who must have fallen asleep next to him, warmed by him and the fire he produced naturally.
Time to wake up Liz. We need to catch up to the others, they have a head start already.
He didn't bother making a sound to wake her since she was deaf, instead patiently sending messages and mental nudges to her while keeping his own keen ears perked and alert.
