Mataethuud was sweating and exhausted, and leaned on Dorthy gratefully.
"Thank you. This injury, even after so long... it's still so frustrating to have to move like this."
He rests his head on her flank, taking some deep breaths and allowing the Bond to let her calmness even out his frustration.

Zenna and Aerah
Zenna looked up as she finished and looked to where Illium was pointing, noticing Mysha was in trouble. She followed after the other rifer as he stumbled towards the split rock. Once she got behind it with Illium and Elizabeth, she turned to Illium.
"Don't worry, my dragon will help her." she reassured him, watching the skies.
Aerah also noticed hopw Mysha clung to her saddle.
Myotis, carefully move out of the line of fire. She told the light dragon as she flew over to them. I think Mysha was hit by a poisoned arrow. I'm coming over to heal her.
Markus and Roth
Markus nodded as he and Zakus and their dragons were told what was happeneing. He tilted his head slightly, noticing how Mysha, who was drawing off the hunter's attack was slumped in her saddle.
"Roth, let's go help Mysha evac." he told the dragon. "We can take over drawing their attention so the humans and dragons on the ground can take to the air."
"Good idea." Roth agreed and the Dark dragon flew towards the downed dragon rider, seeing Aerah coming from the opposite direction, obviously to heal her.

bump
-
She nodded understandingly running her snake like tounge along her maw as she yawned again. "I know it's hard, Matty. I'll always be here, though." Dorthy offered, making another, quieter gurgleing purring-like sound, trying to comfort him. Her eyes we're wide as she tilted her head, looking down at him.
-
Mataethuud rests his weight on her side for a moment longer, then swings neatly up onto her back, he'd ceased using a saddle long ago, being one of the best flier many Riders knew. Now no longer needing his injured leg he was suddenly less awkward and unbalanced.
"I know, thank you Dorthy."
He rests a hand on the warm, smooth scales and feathers on her neck, feeling her purring and relaxing. -
MYOTIS & MYSHA
Myotis nodded in response to Hirador and Aerah's instructions. With the soul dragon on their side, she was starting to feel a bit less panicked about the situation; the healing power of such dragons was legendary, after all, and with people like Illium on their side Myotis figured that they stood more than a chance against the Hunter's attacks. This in mind, the light dragon steeled herself and began to fly to safety. After dodging a couple more arrows she touched down next to the split rock, projecting gratitude across the mind link to her fellow dragons.
'We're here,' she announced to the other two dragons, twisting her head around to inspect her rider. 'I'm not sure how much use Mysha will be at the moment, however.'
Mysha was still slumped in the saddle, trying without much luck to shuffle around and inspect her new surroundings. After a couple of moments, however, she managed to manoeuvre herself so that she could slide from her dragon's back, and quickly set about doing just that. She landed on the ground with a thud, and Myotis tried to help to push the woman towards the safety of the split rock.
BEL
Bel continued to survey the scene from her viewpoint above the forest, narrowing her eyes as some of the Hunters tried to
dodge around Gaia's great bulk and get to the other retreating riders. That wouldn't do. Not at all. Luckily, it looked like the other members of the patrol we already on top of things. A grim smile spread across her face as she saw Markus and the others flying down to aid their comrades.'We need to get the other members of the patrol to help out, too,' she projected to her partner. 'Could you send a message to any nearby dragons, perhaps?'
SALAZEL
Salazel soared above the chaos, his keen gaze trained on the enemy. The small red dragon wished that the fight hadn't broken out in a forest - fire and foliage didn't mix well, after all. He didn't want to risk starting a wildfire with a misplaced plasma ball, but he also hated to watch the Hunters threaten his allies. Fortunately for him, it seemed that the battle was being taken to a more open area, with more stone and less woodland. Any unfortunate Hunter that tried to follow his allies would meet a fiery end, sure enough.

ooc- -wheezes- Y'all I am so sorry for vanishing there ;-; ))
Nohki
Nohki didn't give his partner a reply, instead immediately attempted to reach out to the other dragons that may be in the nearby area. The message was unimpressive to say the least, the grim dragon's mind a bit muddled with the initial panic that came with these attacks. He gave a brief explanation of the situation and a request for help was tacked onto the end. Once it was done he glanced back to Bel, huffing out a sigh.
"It is done." He informed her casually, glancing down at the hap-hazardous situation below.Claudius
Claude stayed quiet on the back of his dragon, watching with quiet worry for his companions. He could only pray this would end well for the hunters. He knew someone, his frazzled mind would come to supply him with the name Mysha, had been struck and poisoned. He wasn't sure where they had gone however, and instead watched as the enemy moved about.
Sometimes he really wished fire could be more easily controlled, but he knew that was something he would never get to see. Instead he and Salazel would stay up in the skies, waiting for their opportunity to strike. -
Suddenly, her head snapped forwards, looking out of their little den-like area. Dorthys eyes narrowed and her pupils dialated, something was going on not too far away, she could hear/even feel it, it seemed like. She couldn't help but begin to walk towards the entrance, spreading her wings slightly, as if ready to take off.

Zenna and Aerah
Aerah followed after Myotis and landed behind the large split rock, surprised it was able to conceal so many humans and dragons. She lumbered over to Mysha, whom Myotis had managed to nudge behind the rock and to safety.
"Zenna, you help the riders deal with the hunters, I'll take care of Mysha." she told her rider.
Zenna grinned at her dragon and quickly clamboued into the nearby tree, picking off a few hunters with the few bolts she had left.
Markus and Roth
Markus and Roth had managed to find out where the majority of the hunters were currently taking shelter and were hovering a safe distance above them, thus far unnoticed.
Land in that open area behind them... Markus told his dragon. They'll never know what hit them when you spit acid at them.
OCC:
Sorry for the short posts... rushed.

Illium & Hirador
Illium looked over at Mysha. It pained him to see someone who had come to his aid injured. Using his trident for support, he walked over to where she lay on the ground. He watched her with a worried expression. He knew that the danger had passed, the poison was already being removed. Yet he still sat down beside her and readied his trident. He doubted his usefulness with so many dragons so close at hand, but if any hunters managed to get past them, he would be ready to protect Mysha.
OOC: also rushed post, will reply later with more

Ooc: I'm struggling to reply to this thread because I'm having trouble finding a place to jump in. I think I'll wait to say anything until this encounter is over. I hope you don't mind. :)

"What's going on Dorthy? What's wrong?"
Mataethuud picks up on her alertness instantly and adjusts the Bond so he can feel it too.
"Interesting... Let's go, shall we?" -
Dorthy didn't hesitate, she took to the air quickly, maintaining a fast speed as she soared toward the sound and all together feeling of terror that hung in the air. She saw drangins, and riders and.... Hunters. She faltered in the air for a moment, falling ever so slightly before trying to assess her surroundings. What should we do? She asked, keeping high in the air. Hopefully they wouldn't be noticed.
-
These Riders seem to be in trouble, all of them Bonded for a month, maybe half a year at the most or they'd be riding the Dragons. These hunters look more excited than experienced. We'll do a light attack to distract the Hunters and help the Riders get away, you ready?
-
Illium & Hirador
Hirador had grown tired of fighting the hunters, they should have been beaten easily. The chance of a rider dying in this fight grew with every passing minute. So Hirador widened his stance and opened his white maw. At first it appeared as if nothing was happening. But then the temperature around Hirador plummeted. The air around his maw began to pop and crack as the moisture froze. Ice began to climb across his body and the ground around him was developing a thick layer of frost. Then Illiums voice entered his consciousness.
"Hirador, we are not alone anymore. That ability is too dangerous."
And with that, Hirador snapped his maw shut and the ice on and around him turned to mush as the temperature returned to normal. He felt foolish for even considering using such an ability. That was close, Illium thought to himself. If he hadn't noticed the sudden temperature drop and heard the ice crackling then...he didn't want to think about it. He returned his attention back to Mysha. I wonder what her story is. He thought to himself. It probably wasn't a pleasant one. Few riders would have pleasant memories of their earlier life. There was just so much hate and fear towards dragon riders now, and some magic wasn't easy to hide. He looked around at the riders and dragons fighting around him. A few of them might have lived normal lives, but he doubted it. Then he created an ice spike that hovered just above his palm. First hunter to come around the crack in the rock was in for a surprise.
-
"Got it." Dorthy flew closer to the ground, because she had to attack the hunters at the right angle, or else she might get the riders as well. Her maw opened, and the air around her crackled with energy, an ear-piercing shriek like sound radiating through the air as she striked. A bolt of light shot from her mouth, striking the area in front of the hunters, causing a few to jump or fall backwards. The smaller dragon hovered in the air, she hadn't been in a fight for quite a while, so she was slightly shocked that her attack had worked so well.
-
To work with her Mataethuud hurls a spear of lightning at the hunters, scattering them like fleas before a fire. He stands on Dorthy's back.
Be ready Dorthy.
He leaps off and uses more lightning magic to propel him forwards, his landing sending a shockwave rippling outwards. Mataethuud brandishes his halberd and charges, moving in swift charges with his halberd swinging, only going in straight lines but moving fast enough that it was still disorienting.
"Move Riders! Get out of here!" -
Gaia
-x-x-
Surprised that the Hunters were largely unfazed by her attack, the giant dragoness slammed her large hands down by a group of Hunters, trying to smash them. She caught a few, but the bulk of the Hunters managed to dodge her hands.Abilene and Rhear
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
Gripping Rhear's mane tightly, the girl jumped as her water dragon suddenly coiled back in surprise as a bolt of lightning grazed him, searing off the ends of some of his mane. The eastern dragon turned and glared in the direction of the approaching thunder dragon before moving to the side some. In the light blue sky, he would be hard to see, so he wasn't too angry. His pride had just been bruised though. -
Elizabeth leaned on the wall that the rock provided and watched the goings around her in silence. That was until Mysha and her dragon, Myotis, arrived. Mysha was in poor condition, the blonde could tell that much from only her posture in the saddle upon Myotis' back, and rushed over to try and help her. Elizabeth knelt down to her friends level and gave her a quick once over. It was while she was looking her over that she discovered the wound that had lead to her current state. She let out a small sigh at this, "At least this won't be the death of you." Elizabeth mused this while she rose to her feet. She was rather useless in this situation, so she went back to her place leaning against the wall. Of course, if anyone was in need of assistance all one would have to do is ask and she would comply.
-
Dorthy looked down and spotted a water dragon that had been stricken by her lightning. LEAVE. Take your rider and go, have the others leave as well, we have this. She called down to him, turning back to look at the hunters. Dorthy dived down, swooping right above the hunters heads, strikeing again. Due to her lack of attention, she had gotten shot with something on her thigh. It could have been just an arrow, or worse, she would figure that our later. Right now, she was trying to protect her rider.
