  • OOC: The two new rider-dragon pairs (suzykururu's and quickstrike's) are in the forest at the edge of the mountains, having been tracked there by hunters. Zenna and Aerah (one of natavian's pairs) found them, so they are also by the forest. Mysha and Elizabeth and their respective dragons (mine and anemone's pairs) were sent ahead to the forest to help out when Aerah sent a distress call back to the patrol at headquarters, so they are also part of the conflict now. Most of the patrol (made up of every other pair, including your characters, I believe) is currently flying towards the conflict and is about to reach the forest, having followed after Mysha and Elizabeth.

Did that help or did it make things more confusing? ;.; Keeping track of characters in large group rps is always tricky haha

  • OOC: gonna be gone most the day

    IC: Illium & Hirador

Illium looked around at all the new faces. "What have I stumbled apon." He mumbled quietly. There were so many riders and dragons all in one spot that there could only be one logical explanation. They had finally found the Blood-Bound. Well technically they found him, but he wasn't going to focus on the details at the moment. Illium snapped himself from his daze and focused on Elizabeth. "Better cover sounds like an excellent idea, and by the way, my names Illium." he said as he struggled into a ready position with arrows whizzing by. Letting out a soft chuckle he thought to himself, who knew poisons could be so effective.

Hirador couldn't believe how many dragons were fighting with him against the hunters. He'd never actually seen another dragon in his entire life, living alone on the frozen tundra. It seemed that Illium had been right to believe in the Blood-Bound. Something that had been very hard for Hirador to do. Being alone for so many years had caused him to doubt the existence of other dragons. Now is not the time to be focusing on the past, he thought to himself. There would be plenty of time for reflection after the fight with the hunters was won.

  • Ooc: That is enormously helpful. Thank you. :)

    Zakus & Auron

Auron traveled even faster, carrying himself and Zakus further over the deep woods, his wings rustling the tops of trees like fallen leaves in a storm. His massive wing beats were like lightning claps as the thunder dragon raced over the skyline faster than any member of his species could ever match. He knew with every heartbeat that they were miles closer. Without a doubt, Markus and Roth would have to find some way to keep up, but they would have a hard time doing so considering the massive differences between the two dragons. Being a scaleless thunder dragon, Auron was only fast, he was the fastest. No other beast of his species could match the speedy prowess of a scaleless in flight. It just wasn't physically possible. Without the heavy natural armor of most dragons, the only weight Auron now carried was that of his rider and, of course, his own. Being a thunder dragon as well, his was smaller and more flexible than most of the bigger subcategories, such as the hulking Earth dragons or nimble water dragons. As such he was for the most part unmatched in stealthy aerial combat. However, right now they didn't need stealth. Auron would have given anything in the moment to have just a single scale. Without any he was vulnerable to anything from arrow to thrown rocks. The practicallity of being a scaleless rarely came into play. And for right now such skills were utterly useless.
Rising high into the air, Auron touched the tip of a cloud with his snout and scout for the other search party which had left much sooner than they had. He spotted them ahead with little effort, and turning on a dime to land perched on the top of a tall tree (At this point Zakus was trying not to vomit over his side), he waited for a sign of Roth catching up with him to appear in the distance.

  • "I apologize, but I cannot heal; I can only sense the poison. You need a Soul dragon," Sirona informed Elizabeth, before asking, "Aerah?" All that Sirona could do was provide cover for the other dragons and riders, and the same with Ailin; Sirona firing balls of plasma in order to blind the Hunters, and Ailin using his light barrier in order to shield them from the arrows that he heard whizzing by.

    [sorry low muse]

  • Markus and Roth

Markus rolled his eyes as the Thunder dragon rose like a bullet from a shotgun as he took to the air. Roth flew after them, since he and Auron, along with their riders were rear guard. As the thunder dragon seemed too really take off, Markus was half-expecting a sonic boom as Auron broke the sound barrier, he was going so fast. Roth growled low in his throat and flew as fast as he could. The Dark dragon knew Auron had the advantage of speed, since he was scaleless, but that also put him not only at an extreme disadvantage as he had no natural armour, it also put him at a high risk, something Roth was sure the Thunder dragon knew.

"Stop growling, you're giving Auron's thunder a run for its money. Markus told his partner. "Just focus on flying and get us to the party... and I'll work on creating an acid rain the likes these humans have never seen before."

    Roth snorted.

"Just try not to hit our side." he said spotting Auron not too far away, with the rest of the Blood-Bound patrol.

    Zenna and Aerah

Zenna smiled as the injured rider introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you, Illium, I'm Zenna. And I happen to be the rider of a Soul dragon, so I have healing ability as well... although not as much as when Aerah is actually beside me." she smiled reassuringly. "But I should be able to heal you enough to slow the poison until we can get you to Aerah."

She then turned to Elizabeth, Ailin and Sirona.

"Keep them off of us as much as you can." she told them. "I need to concentrate."

She then placed her hand on Illium's arm, but before she started healing she checked in with her dragon partner.

    Aerah!

The rest of the patrol is here, Zenna. the soul dragon answered. We'll formulate an evacuation plan and get you guys out of there!

  • Abilene & Rhear
    -x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
Gripping Rhear's mane in excitement, the young girl bounced in her saddle. She could see the fight up ahead, and wanted very dearly to watch, to see how a real Blood-Bound pair would fight.
    Rhear, aren't you excited?

No. Like I said before, you and I are not trained for this.

Well, we don't have to join the fight. We can just watch. Maybe we'll learn something?

Maybe. We aren't getting close. I won't let you put yourself in danger... again.

    It was just one time-

    Hush.

    Gaia

    -x-x-
The large dragoness gave a low, rumbling croon.
Bel. Should I go ahead and join the fight? I think my size along would give a hood fear factor. A few at least would bail. You know how cowardly they are.

  • Zakus & Auron

Auron circled in the air for while as he waited for Roth and Markus to catch up. He knew he was acting a bit impetulant, rushing ahead like a maniac when something bad was going down, but he couldn't help the speed of his flight sometimes, as much as the others didn't believe him. Then there were sometimes when he just felt like going fast. As if maybe the speed could help him to run away from his problems a bit.
Markus and Roth were only a few yards behind Auron and Zakus when the scaleless grey took off again, trying his best not to go too fast this time. He waited occasionally for the elder dragon to catch up, every once in a while checking over his shoulder for the dragon-rider pair. Seeing them, he would continue to press onward. Eventually they were close enough to catch a few shouted words of panic from the frantic pandemonium raging below. In about a minute they would be on top of the ongoing battle.

  • Elizabeth nodded at Illum then proceeded to look around for adequate cover. The trees didn't seem like the most appealing option to her, they didn't give you enough cover from oncoming enemy fire. "Pleasure to meet you, Illium. My name is Elizabeth. Feel free to shorten it if you like." She didn't look away from her search for cover, but no more than a few seconds after giving Illium her name she spotted a large rock that seemed to have been cracked in half many ages ago. It was turned away from the battlefield and at a certain distance away it looked to her that one wouldn't be spotted. "Over there. Do you think you could make it that far in good time?" It was maybe about 25 to 30 meters away, a rather daunting distance seeing as poisonous enemy fire laid just behind them.
Altus swatted a few hunters here and there, cracking skulls and sending a fair few flying into trees at insane speeds. The thunder dragon was more than just a little happy that all was going well for the most part. He had failed to gain and injuries as of yet, but he didn't want to jynx it. Nothing predictable ever truly happened on battlefields like this.
Elizabeth 'tched' in slight disappointment. She couldn't believe she had switched around the two breeds of dragons' abilities. She felt she had made a fool of herself just then. Upon Zenna's arrival she let out a sigh of relief. At least Illium would be able to get healed. "Thank you for your assistance Zenna."

[Sorry for the delay on this post! I had a post on my phone yesterday but my phone died and I lost it >.>]

  • Illium & Hirador

Illium gave Zenna an appreciative nod and thawed his injured arm. He wasn't sure if his magic would interfere with her healing, but he did know that his ice was extremely cold to the touch. Then he looked in the direction that Elizabeth had pointed in. The rock would make excellent cover. The only real issue was the distance. In his injured state he wasn't sure if he'd make it to the rock fast enough. "I'm gonna have to try, aren't I." He said in response to Elizabeth's question.

Hirador looked down apon the group of riders on the ground. Illium was down there among them and it seemed they were getting ready to move. Illium would make it across the open ground. And if he stumbled Hirador would be there to protect him while he picked himself back up off the ground. That's what he was there for. Illium was proud, too proud to let anyone's know when he was hurting. Hirador knew though, because they were bonded.

  • Markus and Roth

Roth managed to catch up to the thunder dragon and the two of them flew towards where the rest of the group was.

"So, what's the sitch..." Markus asked.

He knew that hunters were in the area and that some of their own were trying to extract some new recruits to the Blood-Bound. By the sounds coming up from the forest, it sounded like a war zone. He knew they would need to get their friends and new allies out and it would need to be soon.

"What's the plan for getting gour friends out of there?" Roth asked the others, the Dark dragon noticing how agitated Aerah was and that Zenna was no where to be seen.

The blonde must have gone to help those on the ground.

    Zenna and Aerah

Zenna smiled at Illium as he defrosted his arm so she could heal him. She then replaced her hands on the wound and worked on extracting the poison, only half listening to what was said by Iliium and Elizabeth. Once she was done healing she looked over at the rock Elizabeth had pointed out.

"Looks like a good spot." she agreed.

  • MYOTIS & MYSHA

Myotis continued to fly overhead, with Mysha shooting down into the trees to try and provide a distraction for the Hunter's below. On the plus side, it was definitely working, as quite a few arrows were now being directed into the sky rather than at her fellow riders. On the downside, however, quite a few arrows were now being directed into the sky rather rather than at her fellow riders. Mysha and her partner had had quite a few close calls - one of the arrows had nicked her arm, even.

Luckily, it was only a flesh wound, but it didn't half sting. There wasn't enough time to worry about such trivial injuries in a fight such as this, Mysha had found, so the crossbow-wielding rider shrugged off the persistent pain and tried to refocus on the battle below. Tried being the operating word, however, since she seemed to be finding it harder and harder to keep her eyes on her enemy... every few seconds she had to shake her head to try and clear her swimming vision, it seemed. The weariness that was sinking into her bones was altogether harder to ignore, and Mysha eventually found her attention waning.

Below her, Myotis started in alarm, and changed her flight path so that it took them out of the range of the Hunter's arrows. The patrol had arrived, the light dragon could hear, so she figured that they should be able to take over from where they had left off. 'Mysha? Are you alright?'

    BEL

'Go ahead,' Bel replied, sending a nod in Gaia's direction. 'The riders on the ground could do with some cover if they want to make an escape. Your presence would be greatly appreciated by them, I would think.' From her vantage point this close to the forest, both the Hunters and the riders could clearly be seen through the foliage and trees. With the patrol now in the area, it wouldn't be long until the enemy was routed. Bel was certain of it.

    OOC: Sorry for the delay in replies, my internet is on the fritz. I might transfer over to a different provider, but until I sort things out I don't know how often I'll be able to get on here ;.;

  • Aerah

While waiting for the patrol, Aerah waited beside Hirador while Mysha rained arrows down on the hunters below. She noticed that she and Myotis were taking quite a bit of fire and she hoped neither of them got hurt. The soul dragon was still musing when she noticed the Light dragon start as if something had happened, then fly out of the line of fire. With a sinkin gsense in her stomach, Aerah flew over to them.

Is everything alright, Myotis? she asked the other dragon.

  • Ooc: Sorry for the short reply. Low muse. :)

    Zakus & Auron

Auron circled over the gathering rider pairs, Zakus clinging with a death grip to his back. The boy's knuckles were white but his face was green. The etchings of panic and fear broiled about his wind blown face, giving him a nauseated and frightful appearance that only made Auron chuckle softly as he observed it. One thing dragons would always have over man was freedom of the sky. Ground-walkers could never compare to the might and majesty of a sky-borne creature like himself. a puff of smoke lifted into the air as the grey mount gave a burble of half-contained enthusiasm. At least it hadn't been a boring patrol after all. Though at this rate, Zakus might spew his lunch at any minute.

  • The blonde smiled at Illium's enthusiasm. "Alright then." She poked her head just over the log, a bit worried about the lack of arrows she had seen going over the log. From what she saw it was apparent that the Hunters had been lured away from them thankfully. She let out a small sigh of relief before returning to face towards the rock she had pointed out. "It looks like there's less attention on us now, so I'll be going ahead if you all don't mind." She crouched down and crept forwards, gaining some cover behind a tree once she had completed a tactical roll in its direction. From then on she made a quick sprint for each tree closest to her leading to the rock. It didn't take long for her to arrive at the rock. It was extremely mossy in the area that the split was in. It was a rather interesting split as it seemed a little to perfect to have been natural.
Nonetheless, she pushed the skeptic thoughts away and returned to the matter at hand and turned around to look at Illium and Zenna, providing whether or not that had indeed followed after her. Did they get to the rock without incident like she had?

  • Abilene and Rhear
    -x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
    -eh low muse-

    Gaia

    -x-x-

Nodding, Gaia released a bellowing roar and pumped her wings, shaking some nearby trees and she surged ahead of the patrol. Already, the armored dragoness could see the missing scouts(?)/patrol(?) that they had gone to assist, and she could smell the Hunters. Arching her back, she splayed her feet in front of her so she could land on the mountainside, and snapped downwards at a few fleeting specks that were the Hunters. Gaia had effectively placed herself between any Blood-Bound and the cruel humans, but if anyone sought to attack the men, they could just run beneath her feet. The gargantuan female let out one more earth-shaking roar as they fled for cover. They were still there, she knew it...

  • MYOTIS & MYSHA

No reply came from Mysha, just a strong sense of dread, but the words of one of Myotis' fellows did manage to penetrate the haze of panic that had started the settle over the light dragon's mind. 'I don't know,' came her eventual reply, as she shook herself and tried to focus her thoughts. This was not the time to lose her composure, Myotis knew, but she did hate situations such as this. Helplessness was not something she enjoyed experiencing - not one bit.

'I think Mysha may be injured, but I cannot know how until we have landed. She isn't answering my call. Is there anywhere safe nearby where we can regroup without the Hunters causing trouble?'

Astride the great white dragon, meanwhile, the amber-eyed rider had slumped her seat. The persistent pain that had started in the arrow wound had now spread up her arm, and was gradually encroaching on the rest of her body. Had it not been for the numbness that was addling her mind, Mysha might have recognised what was happening and seen that action was taken a bit swifter than it was. Instead, she merely focused on clinging to the pommel of her saddle, and let her partner see her to safety.

  • Illium & Hirador

The sapping feeling from the poison faded as Illium felt Zenna's magic pull the poison from his body. He gave her a quick nod in thanks, for that was all they had time for. A proper thank you would be in order once the fighting had ended. Even though the poison had left his system, his body hadn't recovered. Only rest would return his strength and rejuvenate his tired limbs. Watching Elizabeth cross to the rock made it look easy. Many of the hunters attention had been turned away from them, but to where. He then noticed the light dragon and rider from earlier. They seemed to be drawing most of the hunters away, but something wasn't right. It took Illium awhile to figure it out but then he noticed that the rider had slumped in the saddle. "Zenna" he said as he pointed at the injured rider. "Something is wrong with that rider. We need to get them into that cover and out of the line of fire." Filled with a new sense of determination, Illium ran for the split rock. He only stumbled once, and tried to hide it as best he could by ducking behind some cover. Falling in beside Elizabeth, he gave her a quick grin and then called out to Hirador with his mind. "Hirador, see if you can get that light dragon to put her rider down in this split rock. She looks hurt."

"I will do what I can, but it might be hard to get her to put her rider down, also the dragon is Myotis and the rider is Mysha." Came Hirador's reply. He figured that Illium hadn't learned their names yet. Obviously since he wasn't a dragon he couldn't have heard Myotis when she introduced the two. Hirador then flew over to Myotis' side and tried to cover her and her rider from as many of the arrows as possible. "Mysha, the other riders are gathering by that split rock, the one that helped my rider should be there. You need to drop your rider off there so she can be helped, I'll cover you."

OOC: when you wanna edit your writing but lunch break is over, sorry if I missed any stupid mistakes.

  • Mataethuud limps out of the room he normally slept in these days, a very open and cavernous room large enough for both he and Dorthy, his Dragon. A spear helped him maintain his footing as he hobbled to the larger room where he and Dorthy ate. His daily routines unchanged for the past several years after Dawn's death, a dream of which having been what had woken the Rider. He slept very little now, spending most of his time training to be able to fight using only one leg or strengthening his magic to use that, or simply standing still for as long as he possibly could on his crippled leg.
With yet another day of not beating his goal of longer than a minute he growls in frustration, having fallen on the ground again he pounds his fist as sweat poured down his face, his leg throbbing.
"Again... have to try again, I have to do this."
He'd designed his own new fighting style a year ago that allowed him to fight as least decently with only one leg, mostly it included him moving constantly, launching himself using his good leg and propelling himself forward with a blast of lightning, he was good enough to keep moving fro a while before he finally strained himself too much.

    • Dorthy woke with a start, tossing her head around with wide eyes as she heard a semi-loud crash. The small dragon stood up, yawning loudly and stretching. She could see Mataethuud sitting on the ground, letting out a gurgle like sound that Could be interpreted as laughing. "Be careful, Matty." She thought, communicating through their bond, taking a step towards him and using her nose to help him up. Her pale blue eyes shone slightly as she looked at him, she had used a nickname she had made up for him years ago.
