  • Skygaze took notice of her now drooping tail and wondered if he had said something wrong. His alert ears lowered a bit as he heard her sigh before listening to her. “Don’t worry, everything will be fine. It’s a very hard thing to do but he needs to learn how to fend on his own and then when he becomes a great wolf, he can stand by your side again. And I’m certain that he’ll make you very proud, whichever route he chooses.” Sky assures her in a calm manner. He wasn’t completely sure what path her pup would take but only time will tell if something happens. Hopefully he can correctly interpret whatever message the Great Alpha will send him.

Shadestrider finished his small meal, his tongue hungrily licked around his jowls effectively cleaning off the blood that covered it. He was still hungry but the pang of it had died down a bit. He stared at the carcass he had eaten and wondered if he should move it. He had unconsciously realized that he had chased the rabbit into the territory of the wolf pack. He hadn’t meant to go in this far but he was still at the boundaries, he knew. His ears perked up as he became alert once more to the sounds of the forest. Stepping into the bounds of the territory, he had to make sure he wasn’t spotted. Though it still gnawed at him at how he wasn’t sure how to find his way into this pack.

  • Lotus flicked an ear, lowering her body so that her chest was parallel to the ground, nearly making contact with the soil. She watched the animal closely, searching for signs of company and still finding none. She allowed herself to believe the buck was alone, and nodded at the males' suggestions. Although the beta wasn't quite expressing it, she was quite excited for Xerxes. She anticipated seeing his young claws at hunt- how he'd do in the midst of it all.

"Axis, I want to see you jump on its back. Xerxes and I will take care of getting him to the ground."

Meanwhile, a while away, a brute was tracking the same scent- too distracted by hunger to scent the other wolves, or their weakened territory scents. The mist frustrated him, optics unused to the damp environment. His dark coat made him look like a silhouette within the low clouds as he crept closer and closer to the camp.

Lotus could have sworn she'd gotten a wiff of her childhood as she stared down the buck, but shook the thought.

  • Skygaze’s ears suddenly perked up before his vision was flooded with a brief sight. It happened very fast, and during visions, it was the only time he could see colors correctly as they were instead of his normal murky, blurred vision with tones of gray and darker grays. He could make out the foggy landscape that they called their territory, filled with a luscious dark green of foliage. The green flora was covered with morning dew due to the ever thick fog surrounding the beautiful landscape. In the midst of such an atmosphere a dark brown wolf, wearily edged closer to their camp. His gaze was distant as he gathered himself before standing up alert. “Everyone! A lone wolf is approaching the camp. It seems to be weak and confused by the environment, I couldn’t discern its intentions. I think it may be a large male.” He barked out to those who were still at camp.

Raindance immediately stood up, her tail wagged at the thought of finally something happening. She couldn’t wait to get her maw on him. “Alright! Finally, I’ve been waiting for some action!” She exclaimed with a slight growl. From Sky it seemed to be a large male wolf, she hoped it would put up a fight or at least be strong. She’s been dying to fight somebody. She was eager to go out there and apprehend the lone wolf herself as it did seem favorable but that might not be the best idea. When he comes on the territory they could just ambush him there.

  • Zubiri, too excited for her own good, began to wander out of the camp. As she got a bit further, the 2 month-old pup heard a not-so-distant rustle. "Hello?" She barked worriedly, tilting her head as she stumbled slowly towards the sound. With her ears tilted towards the way it came from, she became more nervous as she grew closer, she didn't know the pack members all too well, and if it was someone out of the pack, well... Soon, a large brute loomed infront of her and she froze in terror. Maybe he wouldn't see her, maybe he hadn't heard her, maybe....

(Just trying to jump in, sorry if im interrupting XD)

  • @Lyra ;3 it's okay, I was going to have Sky move your pup after the announcement of the brute. You should check out the chat and plot thread that's linked on the first post. That way you can join in on plotting with us or just chatting. :D

Heaven looked at Skygaze and listened to his words. Even though her ears were still drooping, she brushed her tail against him in gratitude. This was just what she needed hear; she wasn't sure if this came directly from the Great Alpha or not, but her heart swelled with emotion nonetheless. "Thank you Skygaze. That meant a lot, coming from you, and the Great Alpha." As she opened her mouth to say more, she suddenly saw his eyes glaze over and his vision grow distant. Had I said something? "Skyga-" Hearing him cut her off, she became a bit startled by the news he'd just given the camp. A lone wolf? She couldn't help but look towards the entrance of the camp, thinking of her little pup--Trainee--out there with a lone wolf running about. She rubbed her paws against the ground anxiously.

Axis' hindquarters pointed to the air in excitement. "Yes, Ma'am..." He whispered. His tail wagging from side to side, his muscles bunched under his skin as he readied himself to help take down the beast. His hind legs pushed against the ground and he leaped into the air, landing squarely on the caribou's back, his claws digging into its backside. The animal began to screech in panic and pain as Axis sunk his teeth into the back of its large neck. It bucked and made more pain-fueled noises; he waited impatiently for his pack mates to finish off the caribou, as he was having trouble hanging on for too long.

Xerxes' ears perked up when he heard of his involvement with this hunt. He'd never taken down prey with anyone, let alone a Beta! He almost wanted to bark and squeal in excitement, but kept himself calm until Lotus began to take down the caribou as well. He watched Axis as he jumped upon the beast, wishing he could do that as well, but knew his part was just as, if not more, important. He just really liked jumping.

    [fancypost=text-align: center; font-size: 10px; font-family: times new roman; font-color: white;](c)trexgirl

  • Lotus prepared herself as she saw Axis launch himself into the air, making a smooth landing on their prey's back. She lowered herself into a punching position as she focused, and finally leapt onto it. Her teeth caught the front of the buck's neck as she relied on her weight to shake the beast to the ground. With Xerxes' help, they'd have supplied the pack with a bit of fuel.

The dangerous looking lone wolf was indeed weak. He was disoriented and had no idea how he'd make it out of this most. Ignoring the hunger in his stomach, he steered himself around the squealing caribou in hopes he wouldn't run into another wolf. And that's when Zubiri appeared. Luckily it had just been a pup. She smelled of other wolves and definitely belonged to a pack, the brute noted. He cursed himself mentally, unable to recall when the mist even began shrouding him. He was worn out and just wanted to find a place to go where he could stay and hunt for himself. And then an idea of desperation filled his mind, and he spoke as he approached her. "Little one, where is your home?" he questioned the pup.

  • (ooc: @Norwegian Spirit, I don't know man, there's such an extensive multitude of possibilities to post about. For instance, what Venus is doing, what your latter wolves are doing, how they reacted to a loner heading for camp etc.)

Skygaze had almost missed what Heaven had said to him during the vision but he recollected himself before turning back to her. “I’m sorry to have interrupted you; I’m glad that I could be of help.” He then looked around the camp and noticed that the small pup that had wondered out on the camp was missing. He turned back to Heaven and noticed her anxiety. “I’m sure Xerxes will be safe, he is with one of the betas, after all.” He insured Heaven before going over to where he had seen the pup, the paw prints leading into the forest. His tail fell as things were going into disarray, a missing pup added to it. “I am saddened at such a turn of events. But it seems that one of the last pups in the pack has wandered into the forest!” He announced, this was the most he had to deliver bad news, he hoped that they could get to the pup before she becomes harmed by the loner. He felt he had to deliver the news to any other pack mates and hope that the tiny pup would howl back so they could find her location. Sky then tilted his head back and let out a distressed howl, alerting other pack mates of a distressful situation.

Once Sky announced that a pup had gone missing, Raindance could wait no longer. It would be on their paws if a pup was killed while on their guard. Especially since the pack was so small, they needed pups…even though she hated the small beings. She’d just whether not deal with the tiny naïve pups. She rushed into the forest after sniffing at the trail that Zubiri had left, sniffing about she followed her scent into the thicket. She treaded through the forest shrouded endlessly in fog, keeping alert of her surroundings as she watched out for the lone wolf. It was just her luck that she came across the large male with the pup before him. She let out a warning snarl, her lips pulling back to reveal her sharp canines as her fur had risen to make her appearance seem larger.

“If you would allow me, I have a good sense of where the scent leads.” Cloudchaser offered the alpha, as he could track the lone wolf’s scent for them. The wolf’s scent wasn’t strong but subtle, meaning it wasn’t too fresh but it also wasn’t weak. There was a chance that the scent would get stronger if they followed it. His ears then perked up as he heard a distressed howl back at camp, he could distinguish the voice as none other than Skygaze. Something must’ve happened at camp.

Shadestrider also looked up as he could make out a stranger wolf’s howl. It had to be from the pack he was near, he wondered what had happened. He couldn’t distinguish the call as he wasn’t a member of the pack but it did sound distressful. Hopefully this would also give him time to wander back out of the territory of the pack in fear that he would get attacked. He sniffed about cautiously, treading lightly with his small limp.

  • "I-I..." The pup had began, but timidly stumbled backwards, as if retreating when a pack member, she recognized as Raindance, appeared. The tiny pup stayed a good distance from the two wolves, just in case something were to go down, whining slightly, as if crying. Then came a howl, and although she was a bit quieter then most wolves, she responded the best that she could, because it would be less scary if more pack members were here. Hopefully her mother wouldn't wake up, if she did... Well, Zubiri didn't want to think about that outcome.

"Lead the way, then. Remember to keep marking as we go-" Whitecaster suddenly paused as he heard the distressed call of Skygaze. He didn't know what happened, but knew someone should go back. "Cloudchaser. Can I trust you, Stormchill, and Mars to keep following the scent? I'll take the Omega with me." Whitecaster howled in response to the call, letting the rest of the pack know he was on his way.

Heaven dipped her head in acknowledgement of his reassurance. She did take it to heart, but with the pup recently going missing, she couldn't help but worry still for her own. She decided to look around the camp first and foremost. She walked around, checking in dens and bushes that surrounded it. She smelled a pup's scent leading out of camp, but looked up to find Raindance growling at an unknown wolf. Instinctively, she stood behind her and growled as well, even though she was the less violent of the two. She noticed the little pup, and grabbed her protectively by her scruff and pulled her back into the camp. She knew that Raindance could hold her own, but decided it would be best to take the little one back and warn the others.

Axis let himself fall from the back of the caribou, then joined the others in taking it down by the neck. His claws raked along the side of the large animal, drawing a good amount of blood from both the neck and the side.

Xerxes fumbled a bit, being surprised at Lotus' sudden movement. He jumped as best he could, his teeth catching onto the lower neck of the caribou. He hung on, his legs raising off the ground because of his size.

Magnus instinctively howled in response to the call, but it was short lived as he was to follow the Alpha back to camp. He'd never been alone with the Alpha before, and was slightly worried as to what was to come. His tail twitched in excitement though; this was the most that had happened to them in a while, and he was itching to see what could be happening at camp.

  • “You have my regards.” Cloudchaser answered as Whitecaster gave him permission than trusted him to continue the patrol. He had turned to the sound of Cast’s voice, almost as if he was looking directly at him. He joined in on the howl, letting other pack mates know that he had acknowledged it. His ears twitched and swiveled as he could hear Cast head off back towards the camp. He wondered briefly what had happened to cause such a distressful howl; he hoped no one had gotten hurt. “Alright, stay close behind me.” He informed the two behind him as he continued on the path of the scent.

Skygaze was glad to hear that everyone else had also received his call, though he didn’t hear a howl from any wolf that had left for the hunt. They might’ve been too preoccupied to hear it but he hoped they stayed safe. His ear swiveled as he heard Raindance run off, his head followed her figure as she ran into the thicket. Worriedly, he followed after her; glad Heaven accompanied them as well as Sky wasn’t a fighter. He understood that he was weak and no doubt useless in this situation but he wanted to be able to help in some way. He could barely make out the stranger wolf’s lumbering appearance but he had a feeling that he wasn’t vicious. He decided to wait and see the wolf’s actions before determining his own actions.

Raindance kept her eyes on the stranger wolf, keeping her fierce look about her. She didn’t even peel her gaze away from him as she heard a few of her pack mates join her. She watched as Heaven took away the pup, glad that the small nuisance wasn’t in the way she took a guarded step forward. Making sure that the wolf didn’t try to harm either of them.

Shadestrider tried to peer through the mist a bit but he had learned that sight was useless here. He sat down a bit to reorient himself before he heard a two howls that were closer to him. His ears folded as he realized that wolves from the pack were close to his location. There was no doubt that they had probably already discovered his scent. Fear ran through him as he wasn’t sure if he should stay and try to integrate into the pack or not. He didn’t want to get hurt again…

  • Sage flicked an ear with discontent. She didn't want Hazel to get the blame if they were caught. Oh well, they would probably be fine. The forest was big for a small trainee like her. The wolf relaxed soon enough after a few cool breezes danced by her fur. "Wanna race to that tree?" She smirked and nodded towards a growing oak with low hanging branches.

  • Zubiri hung limply in her maw for a moment, eyes wide. As soon as they got to camp, she found herself terrified, small body shaking somewhat violently. "Don't bring my back to mum please oh please!" She begged, whimpering quietly. If her mother were to wake up and figure out she left the den, let alone the camp, she had no idea what would happen to her. But after she finished speaking, she realized it was too late, hearing and angered growl that she recgognized all too well.

Latu, having heard the howls, had begun to wake up. She looked around, the little brat was gone. A deep growl escaped her lips as she stood, head lowered and ears flattened, walking out of the warm den. As soon as the fierce looking she-wolf exited the den, a scent hit her nostrils as her head whipped around, spotting her pup in the maw of another wolf. "What did she do this time?" She growled, lips pulling back in a snarl, the little monster got on her nerves, but when the other wolves got a hold of of it, it just made her angery.

occ; Sorry again for the absence, I wasn't expecting to be away from this rp for so long.

Stormchill - Your Femme Fatale, Gamma
The multi hued wolf nodded at her orders. And again she eyed the pup, the overly excitable fluff ball was becoming more and more of her responsibility, which was not favored but she saw she had no say on the matter. Nonetheless with a distress call form camp, something was going down and Whitecaster needed to go back to tend to the matter. Why the Omega needed to return with him did not exactly seem suited, but again her word was unimportant and of no concern. She kept her nose out of that business for now. She turned to the pup with eyes shining fiercely, "You need to stay closer to us than ever, we don't know yet if this wanderer is hostile, and be as it may you are learning and capable, you are still the least experienced and the most likely to get yourself killed." Albeit she really wanted to be the one to tear into the loner's fur once they happened upon him, she knew full well that it was likely going to be Cloud while she pup-sat the Trainee. damn.

Cryptic - Your Boy Wonder, Gamma
Cryptic was about to answer Rain's question after a bit of awkward silence, he never needed to fight too much since he'd been in the pack. He had the build, and his muscles were well toned, at least for the average fight he supposed; but the idea appeared rather vague to him. And then, of course, an oddly coincidental opportunity seemed to present itself. Fantastic, he thought sarcastically. "That answer will have to wait it seems." Cryptic, despite the possible danger that was mounting, was smiling and calm as ever, this was not unusual for the brute in any situation. "Sky, do you know how far exactly he loner is from the camp?"

  • ooc: It's alright, just make sure to tell Eri if you have to leave again. Also since Norwegian left, it's probably best to disregard Mars. So Storm won't have to pup-sit anymore.

Cloudchaser kept his nose to the ground as he followed the scent, the smell of it getting stronger with each step. He listened to make sure that Stormchill was still behind him, but he knew she was capable enough to be able to follow him. He treaded lightly, surprising for a blind wolf but it was something he had to learn in order to hunt. Nevertheless, his light paws seemed to race against the ground as he closed the distance between them and the lone wolf. He wondered briefly if he would have to fight, not that the thought scared him or anything. It’s been a while since they last chased of strays but there was also the possibility of the wolf becoming a part of the pack. He made sure to mark areas where the pack’s scent had faded as they went. “We’re getting closer, keep on your guard.” He warned Stormchill so she could be prepared, he could tell that the loner was beginning to run from them.

Shadestrider had begun to panic a bit, his thoughts heavily conflicted as his instinct told him to run but a part of him wanted to stay and give it a chance. He was torn between his rationale and fear and couldn’t distinguish from both. He wasn’t sure how close the wolves were to him or if he could even escape now. He would need to wander back out of this forest shrouded in fog first. He stood up, his rear paw dangling as he sniffed at the ground. He was looking for his way back, back to where he hadn’t crossed the border. The fog seemed especially thick today.

Skygaze’s ear twitched as the male voice had surprised him a bit. He then turned to meet the owner of the voice and wasn’t surprised that it was Cryptic. He observed his features and tone of voice; taking note of the happy yet carefree tone in it. “Your calmness is admirable but I can’t understand your happiness.” He said with a small tilt of his head before turning back into the woods. “He’s not far away at all; he is right in front of us.” He answered casually as he watched Raindance and the lone wolf. “I’ll be glad if you stayed and offered your support. In a fight, I would be rather useless…though I don’t think this wolf will pose much of a threat at all.” He admitted rather straightforwardly, it was as if he had already come to terms with his own weakness. Nevertheless he was happy Cryptic had joined them, they needed more pack mates to help assess the situation.

occ; Oh wow, my bad, I don't know how I missed that, I thought Mars was some one else's character. I am just going to add a post, if that's ok. And, Skygaze is blind right? He can sense Cryptic smiling? I know Cloud is but I also though SKy was too, which is fine if not but I'm confused a bit now
OH, ok I apologize, I had misread the specifics of his blindness.

Stormchill - Your Femme Fatale, Gamma
Her muscles seemed to move with power and jubilation at the rising of action. The cream canvas and several shades of grey and tan hues rippled through the woods like a ghost, all the more eerie with the ever looming fog. Dark, deep eyes narrowed, yet as awake and aware as they could ever be with anticipation and eagerness. Oh, she was ready, not just ready, but itching for a bit of roughing around the rogue. Even if this brute could mean well and go so far as too be generously offered a place among the pack, he had to learn the error he made had consequences. To be a part of this pack was a privilege, in Stormchill's livid thoughts, you didn't just get to waltz onto to pack grounds and hope to be spared any hostilities then immediately get your free ticket in. Oh no, she was out for a tuff of fur and a nick or two- and that was her merciful side of sorts. Of course the rationale nagging at her mind was screaming it'd end up being Cloud who got to take a chew out of the trespasser. But she'd make sure to get her own piece no matter what. Her adrenaline seemed to increase in levels as they neared the loner, and at Cloud's -“We’re getting closer, keep on your guard.”- she almost snorted but knew better. He didn't have to tell her that, she was on her toes and almost up his rear the entire trek here.

Cryptic - Your Boy Wonder, Gamma
He chuckled softly, the brown wolf found it amazing that people found his smiles to always deem him happy, when he was simply optimistic. Another, perhaps to the pack, annoying quirk about him. Still, he did not really mind the oddity. And he also couldn't be but a little impressed despite the male's disability, he could even if only slightly define his features."I am happy to help with the situation, but I believe we should reserve fighting as a last resort. As you said the loner likely won't put up that much a fight, so then a more effective and less energy wasting solution would be trying to talk to him, yes? Send him on his way, or keep him guarded and watched til Whitecaster returns if he is willing to join this pack of ours. Alas if it comes down to fighting," he turned his somewhat massive head to the she-wolf he'd been sharing a conversation with earlier before this sudden turn of events,"I'm sure Raindance is up for the match, I highly doubt she'll need anyone's help; especially against a lone, probably weakened wolf."

  • ooc: Sky is blind, but his sight differs from that of normal blindness. Sky can make out the blurs of objects. His vision is distorted where he can see but everything is shrouded in a a foggy black. So while we can see in color, just picture how he sees stuff as everything being completely black with no sunlight and some areas being a light gray. Objects vary from gray and black with him only being able to distinguish them because of its structure. He can make out wolves of lighter colors, ex. Brown, light brown, gray, orange etc. though he can't tell what colors they are. He has a harder time seeing wolves that are completely white and wolves that are completely black so he can't see wolves like Whitecaster, Cloudchaser, Xerxes, and Magnus. But I'll edit it. I'll also edit this post later for a response.

Cloudchaser broke out into a run when the scent was conspicuous enough to smell it without searching for it. He ran in the direction of the lone wolf, his ears were erect as his fur bristled about him. His lips pulled back revealing his incisors as he released a snarl before tackling the loner. The loner had tried to run but wasn’t fast enough, from the way he ran, Cloud could tell the wolf was injured. The loner was also a large male in size so he was a bit surprised at how easily the wolf immediately submitted. He could only tell that the wolf was submitting as when he bit into him he could easily identify his neck, right beneath the shoulder he tore into.

Shadestrider was standing there, trying to find his way out before he heard the sound of pattering paws. The pack wolves had finally found him and he couldn’t help but try to run. He placed his injured paw down before retracting it in pain, as sharp heat soared through it. His tail automatically tucked between his legs with his flattened ears before he was tackled by the heavy force of another wolf. He gave a startled bark of fear before crying out in pain as he was attacked. The other wolf’s teeth digging into his skin, creating a new wound as he immediately rolled onto his back. He raised his paws up, drawing them against his body as he whimpered.

“It’s best to be prepared if it should ever come to that, no?” Skygaze replied as he faced back to the other two wolves. “Besides it’s safe in numbers, it’s best to have some of us here. I would prefer a peaceful solution but I want to make a safe judgement before deciding anything.” He told the other male, his ears perked and upright as he listened to him talk. “Yes, Raindance is a strong individual.” He agreed as he shifted a bit, sitting down and tucking his brown tail around himself.
