  • Cloudchaser followed right after the Alpha, keeping up with the sounds of his paws against the forest floor. His white ears were perked up and alert, helping him detect any and every sound that was made. Cloud was grateful for his senses as they helped him move about greatly though he still missed seeing the scenery, sometimes he found it best to imagine what it looks like through the sounds he heard. He breathed in the scents of the wolves that were with them, smelling Cast in the front with the small pup behind himself, Stormchill, and the faint smell of Magnus behind them. He made sure to keep note of Magnus’ scent, lest he would have to scold him for improper actions. He also kept note of the pup with them, it still bothered him the idea of a bird stealing the little guy away and even more so of how the pup realized it could happen to him. “Don’t wish for such things as flying, if you see a Hawk or any other large birds of prey, go underneath us. It’s a sad sight to see and you wouldn’t want your life to end in such means.” Cloud commented lowly as he had seen pups stolen by vultures and other birds. If anything he was glad there were others to keep watch of the loud pup.

Sky sniffed around the camp, avoiding the area that Venus had scampered off to and instead went over to other wolves. He enjoyed talking to them and listening to his fellow pack mates as they spoke. He could see the forms of Heaven, Cryptic, and Rain that were left to guard the pack. He first decided to approach Heaven, as he saw her as a kind wolf. He felt comfortable around her and liked to see how she and her pup were doing. He knew he heard both pups go off on separate duties and as a mother she must be worried. He bounded over to the female wolf and nodded his head at her as he greeted her. “Hello, Heaven. How are you?” Being at camp with the remaining wolves was the only time he was really social with the others. Though they were always brief moments it still meant a lot to him. Other times he would spend it with himself and the Great Alpha.

Rain watched as Whitecaster and the others left, taking the omega with them. With everyone gone it was much easier to realize how small their pack was. With such low numbers left to remain at guard duty, they would have to keep alert though nothing rarely happened. She resigned herself to scouting about the territory of the camp for any weird scents that might have approached. As she did so she saw Sage run out the den, she wasn’t sure how the wolf managed to sleep in but she did appear lost.

  • The charcoal colored male was peacefully sleeping in the den. He didn't move a muscle when Whitecaster ordered everyone to rise and he didn't respond when others moved past him to leave the dens. It wasn't until he was stepped on by one of his fellow packmates that he rose. He lifted his heavy tired head, his blue eyes wide with temporary terror before he realized it was a simple accident. Giving a tired sigh he parted his wide black maw into a large yawn before rising from the ground. His thick ebony coat was unkempt and sticking out like black clouds loose in a breeze. Hazel gave a long stretch taking his time to slowly drag himself out into the light of day. He had barely caught a glimpse of the other members of the pack heading out for what he believed to be hunting. Food sounded pretty good, he had to admit. The thought made his stomach quickly agree as he thought about munching on caribou and rabbit. Shrugging away the thought to prevent further torturing himself with his hunger he watched as everyone disappeared leaving he and a few others at camp alone. He was perfectly content with this, after all he had no interest in really hunting at the moment and he was perfectly content with laying about in the sunlight enjoying the early morning sounds from around him. It was a nice morning to take a nap while he waited for his next meal. He passively closed his eyes allowing sleep to retake him once again, not even a few feet away from where he was originally sleeping.

  • Ooc: I edited my last post since I found out Sage wasn't going on the hunt. ^-^

Everyone still here is more or less asleep. Sage commented in her head, slightly bored and disappointed at not being in the patrol. Nothing she could do about it, it was alpha's command and she just fell short this time. Her ears perked up when she noticed some movement not so far away. She wasn't one to strike a conversation often, but there wasn't much else to do. "Good morning Hazel," she chirped up before bashfully realising that the gamma was going back to sleep once more. Should not have said that...she panicked in her head, her shyness taking over.

  • Hazel's blue eyes flickered open as he heard a voice. Slightly startled he shot his head up looking about. "Wha-... Oh, good morning Sage." he murmured tiredly giving a tired yet charming smile. He stretched once more, his limbs trembling as he sat up giving his head a shake. "How are you doing on this lovely morning?" He continued casually drawing his tongue over his maw and blinking the sleep from his tired blue optics. He rose to meet her gaze, his tail whipping slowly from side to side and his voice speaking in a casual yet slightly flirty tone. Which was usual for the young male.

  • Sage, thankful that she hadn't interrupted Hazel's sleeping that badly, replied with "a bit sleepy, but fine otherwise. I'm looking for something to do around camp." She paid no attention to his tone and talked back normally, used to the wolf's usual coyness.

  • After covering the camp’s ground Raindance plopped into the middle of the camp and lied down, sprawling herself out. She was growing awfully bored and wanted something to occupy herself. There was nothing suspicious around the camp, save for smaller animals that weren’t food nor harmful. Her thick tan tail thumped about slightly as she glanced around with her eyes. If anything she wanted to fight someone but there didn’t appear to be any strong competition for her to challenge. Heaven wasn’t the sort to engage in that activity, Sky was weak, she wasn’t sure about Venus but she felt she was stronger than the she-wolf. Her eyes lay upon Cryptic, Sage, and Hazel, those three she was also unsure about. Though the latter male never seemed to have fighting on his mind.

Shadestrider wandered about the outermost layers of the forest, using his keen sense of smell to sniff about. He had to make sure to avoid pack territory but that was hard as most of the forest seemed claimed by other packs with distances between them. Other than that, what he mostly kept his focus on was the smell of carcasses. That was his only hope of sustenance as his back leg was injured. He could barely walk on it as it would be lanced with hot pain if he stayed on it too long. He turned towards his back and licked at the injured paw, the blood was hardening on it so at least it wasn’t bleeding too badly anymore. A small whimper left his throat as he turned and continued sniffing about, hobbling along the way. As he moved about he could smell the scent of those wolves again, he had been lurking about their territory for a while and he could tell it was new but he wasn’t sure how to join the pack. In his heart the fear of rejection and pain had swelled up. He couldn’t afford getting into another fight again…

  • Hazel blinked a few times as though contemplating what exactly there was to do. Clearly there wasn't too much at the moment that could be done. He shrugged as he rose to his paws steadily. "It's a nice day for a walk. Care to join me?" He inquired passively, his tone changing to a rather relaxed one. Everyone was out hunting and even boredom began to gnaw at the male himself. He wasn't too keen on doing too much but a simple walk wouldn't hurt him and the young male did long to stretch his tired muscles to get him going for the day. Perhaps even a little snack wouldn't hurt him either while he waited on the real meal. His stomach protested once more as the thought of food returned to his mind. Maybe he could get some brownie points from Whitecaster for doing a bit of hunting. Who knew? Regardless he didn't care too much. He simply wanted some breathing space for awhile and standing about all day wasn't cutting it for him. His maw parted once more as he took in a massive yawn. Perhaps once he got home again he'd take a little nap like he initially planned. He always seemed tired for some reason. A snort concluded the yawn as the charcoal colored male waited for Sage's response.

occ; I'm sorry the muse decided to go on a out-of-my-mind patrol and didn't tell me when it was coming back. Q.Q

Stormchill - Your Femme Fatale, Gamma
The wolf became wry as Cloud mentioned Mars' supposed ideals to learn to fly. A wolf, flying? Might as well learn how to walk on water to then. She kept her snickering thoughts in her head however, only a slight change in her lips to hint any possibility of amusement. Her grey, brewing eyes remained overcast, and gliding around her field of visions to spy what sight could deliver. And yet it was not so much as her sigh but her sense of smell that detected something new and fresh. A wolf, not of their patrol or even of their pack. And she was absolutely certain she was not scenting Magnus, but a stranger. While she came upon this discovery she was not definite in where this wandering wolf had been trespassing or was just skirting their fainted lines. In that collection of thoughts and logic she simply made the two older males aware of it in case they, for whatever reason, did not catch the scent of the stranger. "Am I the only who smells that?"

Cryptic - Your Boy Wonder, Gamma
The brown wolf lumbered somehow gracefully over to Raindance who was lazily spread across the clearing of camp. It was probably out of boredom, guard duty was not exactly exciting, and he didn't particularly care either way. He certainly was not one to reprimand his peers on slouching around, and he himself had felt it was a rather uninteresting part of work until you know, some foolish wolves did actually try to invade, but it was too rare for hims to believe it would happen anytime soon. He sat right next to her before speaking, looking down at her form. "Apologies, I cam over to talk, but I haven't the slightest clue as to what I should even talk about".

  • "Sure, I needed a good stretch." Sage replied with a wag of her tail. Walks were one of her favourite things to do, this morning just got a whole lot funner. "Oh, but am I allowed out of camp? I'm just a trainee." Technically, the Betas were the ones responsible for training her, but did this apply for leaving the camp as well?

    mars;

the young pup glanced at him, chuckling at his words. though he is the beta of the pack, he treats him like an older brother like every other older wolf he knows. playfulness in the pup has ceased for the time being, looking around the forest that they reside in. it was foggy like usual, but outside the pack's camp was a lot more beautiful. a little bounce to his paws still held onto the happiness he held within him. a small glance went over to cloud before looking away with a small sigh. ``cloud, i am young. such ideas does come to us frequently because we are smaller than you, and even if we hide we still want to help out. the reason we die from hawks is because we want to show you wolves we aren't weak.`` letting the words filter through the older wolf he looks up to him. ``i promise i will hide underneath you, but trust me a little alright?``

leaping forward, the young pup started to go ahead of the group. he wanted to do something else other than talk depressing things. plus, he sounded way more mature before and he disliked that. finding a small pinecone, he started to paw at it. it bounced around within his grasp, making him want to get it even more. pressing his teeth against it, he lowered his body and tried to open the inside of such a mysterious thing. while he played around with his little toy, he waited for the group he left behind about a few paces ago. a gentle wag of his tail showed his happiness as he looked up. he had just noticed how hard it was to see him with his white coat, which he took the advantage of. cloud was easy to get away from since he is blind, though his other senses tend to get the better of him.

    venus;

    she is open to interactions.

we are born to make history

  • As the male's request was granted Hazel took a few paces forward glad to have a reason to leave. He paused as Sage began to wonder if she was allowed out of camp and Hazel shrugged. "Well, you're allowed out of camp if you don't get caught." He replied in a low voice giving a friendly wink. "We'll try and be back before the patrol returns and we won't wander far. Don't worry about it!" Giving a confident smile Hazel nudged her ahead, his tail wagging back and forth, anticipation driving him to long to leave the boring small camp, and stupid guard duty. The pack would get along fine without him he was sure.

    (( sorry I haven't posted, I am a fail lol ))

Whitecaster kept tabs on his much vaster surroundings when they had made it deeping into the forest and farther from their camp. It was still their territory, however, so he did not feel the need to be wary in this part of the woods. He could hear the rustling sounds of birds flying from their perches, and smaller prey moving around on the forest floor. While he has eaten smaller prey before, he knew that in order to feed the entire pack, they would need to bring back at least a good sized male deer. They may even make do with a large female, but he asked the Great Alpha silently to grant them with enough.

As Cast led his following, he marked a few trees along their borders. The scent was starting to wane as time passed, and he wouldn't want any other predator to wander onto their territory. Hearing the voice of the female Stormchill, his ear swiveled slightly to hear her, but he did not turn to her. "What is it you smell?" He sniffed around himself, only faintly smelling another wolf, a little too close to their territory. His nostrils were mostly filled with his and the other's scents.

Magnus paused a bit, also smelling another wolf. He hoped that the wolf was just too close to their territory boundary. He knew that this forest and beyond held other wolf packs, as he had his own troubles with him during his Lone days, but he also knew that there were many other Lone Wolves. Because he had taken up the rear, and his status as an Omega, he knew it would be out of turn to say anything, but couldn't help but pipe up. "Yeah, I smell that too. What the hell?"

Meanwhile back at camp, Heaven tried to let the anxiety she felt leave her body as she busied herself with guarding. She sat herself at the camp entrance. Sighing, she laid her body down, knowing that there most likely would be no threat to distract her. Heaven looked behind her as she sensed another wolf coming towards her, surprised to see that it was the Seer, Skygaze. She hadn't spoken to him often, but regarded him as nice enough. The tip of her tail wagged slightly, indicating friendliness. "Good morning, Skygaze. I'm doing alright. Just fine. How are you?"

  • Cloudchaser kept at his pace as he kept his ears high and alert, they swiveled at each sound he heard. He sniffed about as well in order to keep to his surroundings and the small party but to also scent out any other random scents like coyotes, foxes, bears, and other wolves. He listened as the small pup beside him talked, his ears folded back before he turned to him. “You are still growing, your only job is to watch and learn. You’ll help out more by keeping yourself safe and learning the rules, traditions, and basics of survival. I’m not lecturing you because of distrust but it’s for your protection.” He stated before his ears perked up at the sound of the pup scampering away. A bitter sigh left his mouth as pups were often troublesome when it came to watching over them.

He would’ve let this be until Stormchill’s voice caught his attention followed by the scent of a stranger. The scent wasn’t necessarily strong, not strong enough to go over the scent of their own pack but a wolf had definitely journeyed about the territory. “No, I smell it too. It smells like a male wolf.” Cloud added as Cast also began to investigate. He sniffed about trying to get a clear path to where this wolf had gone before hearing Magnus’ voice, his head turned and he delivered a small warning growl to the Omega. He then went and picked up Mars by the scruff of his neck and carried him over to the others. He put the small white pup nearest to Stormchill as she could help keep watch over him and he didn’t trust Magnus enough with a task. “Help keep an eye on him.” He directed her as he didn’t want the pup to get attacked in the situation that the stranger does lunge at them

Skygaze watched Heaven’s relaxed form as he sat himself down, his tail curled around his legs immediately before slightly wagging at the friendliness he was showed. “Ah…I’m glad.” His tone sounded friendly but at most distant yet it kept its monotone pitch to it. His ears turned a bit as he heard the sounds of the other wolves in the pack also conversing. “I am in a serene mood as usual.” He stated as he stayed focused on her, “How is your pup doing? He left earlier with the hunting party, right? You must be worried having him not by your side.” Sky asked trying not to pry too much but he wanted to make sure she was alright and that her pup was too. Of course he would make sure to interact with the small pup but he was just hard to find.

Raindance watched as the brown male wolf made its way to her but she made no effort to neither sit up nor change her position. She kept her eyes trained on him as they were the only things that followed his form. She wondered briefly at what he wanted as he placed himself beside her before he opened his mouth. “You’re rather honest…” She mumbled in response to what he said. She wasn’t sure how a person would still come over to someone and openly admits they had no idea what to say but it was better than being awkward. “Well since you’re here it saves me time trying to figure this out. How good are you when it comes to fighting?” She asked him in a straightforward manner. She could stare at his build all day but male wolves were at most usually bigger than their female counterparts. Though she could compare his build to Whitecaster’s as she felt he was strong but it was easier asking the guy himself.

Shadestrider continued at his pace, sniffing desperately about for a meal to sate his hunger. He wasn’t necessarily starving but he was hungry and needed the food for his own strength. His nose came across the scent of a rabbit; his tail gave a joyful wag before he spotted the small prey, hiding in the bushes. He crept as slowly and as best as he could before pouncing at it. He almost missed it as it was hard to hunt with his injured paw but he managed to snag the rabbit. It screamed as his teeth sank into it and he brought it closer to his body. Once he killed the rabbit he began to eat it, but he knew it wouldn’t fully satisfy him.

  • Sage casted a few nervous glances around, hoping no one would tell on her. It wasn't as if she committed a huge crime, but she wasn't one to casually break rules. Still unsure, she bounded after Hazel without much thought. "Where are you planning to go?"

  • I'll reply as soon as I get a chance I'm just really busy this part of the week

  • [align=justify][font='Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif']The fawn-red beta reminded her packmates to slow their strides as the scent grew stronger and they grew nearer. Her tail hung low as she pressed on, and she started to put less weight into her steps as if to silence herself... Or to at least suppress the sound she was making as she pressed on into the misty forest. The pack had long adjusted to the mist, working in synchronization with the hanging moisture about the air. It never really slowed them since they adapted so easily to it all.

Lotus's ears swiveled about as she listened closely, following her nose. It wasn't long before her icy gaze picked up a bit of movement, and she froze in her tracks, already beginning to strategize in her mind. She only spotted one caribou, which was completely odd... She was used to seeing them in groups, with their herds and families. She studied the surroundings to be sure, and then looked at the wolves accompanying her. This would be their turn to strategize in her place. [color=#d4f0ff]How should we approach?" she asked in a hushed tone, eyes flickering between Axis and Xerxes.

// this is short, my apologies! //

  • Zubiri shifted slowly away from her sleeping mother, careful not to wake her. Once a good distance from her mother in the small den, she hesitated. She had never left the den without her mother, but now is as good a time as ever. After about 5 minuites of just standing there, the small pup made her way out of the den. With wide eyes the pup, at first, walked calmly, acting casual before hopping around happily, joy obvious on her face.

((Sorry for the lame first post!))

  • The male gave Sage a reassuring glance as he saw her glancing anxiously about the camp as though worried Whitecaster or any higher of a rank would leap from the bushes and chew her alive. He gave her a bump on the shoulder with his nose. "Don't worry kid, if you get caught I'll take the fall." He promised as he made his way through camp toward the exit. He heard her voice over his shoulder as she asked where they were headed and he shrugged. "Wherever our paws take us I guess. I never have a plan for these things." He snorted passively as he breathed in the thick misty scent of the forest heaving a heavy sigh as it resonated a feeling of safety and confidence inside him. He really liked it here.

Heaven's tail drooped slightly. How had he seen right through me? Maybe it's that thing he has with the Great Alpha... She sighed audibly. She was trying to forget about her little pup for while, but knew it was probably impossible. "Yes...I'm very worried. He's been by my side everyday now, and since he's become a Trainee, I only get to see him sometimes..." She looked away into the forest, feeling a slight tightening in her chest.

Axis struggled to keep himself quite enough for the hunt. His tail wanted to wag, and his legs wanted to run. However, he pressed on as quietly as he could, knowing that his excitement was less important than hunting. His excitement only got worse as he picked up the scent of the animal they were searching for. He crouched instinctively, but remembered to wait for the others. "We should just go for it! Jump on its back! Or we could go for the legs...But we might get kicked! I've almost been kicked before, its not fun..."

Xerxes' smaller tail wagged in excitement, as well. Because he was smaller, he had no problem bouncing through the forest without making too much noise. He stopped as the other two did, almost skidding into Lotus. He squinted to look in between the foliage that the other wolves could look over. He waited for orders, as strategy wasn't his strong suit.
