You are sitting at home on a normal Friday night, excited for the weekend ahead. You are watching TV when the show shifts to another screen. A high pitched noise rings in your ears and the Emergency Alert System starts broadcasting.
You jump up from the couch. Everything you have ever done, ever planned to do, means nothing now. The only things that's important now is that you survive.
The disease is called "Aggressive Auto-Immune Acute Idiopathic Neurodegeneration," or AAAIN. This disease causes the degeneration of cells in the brain. The infected creature becomes very aggressive and will attack anything that is alive. Because it is an auto-immune disease, the immune system attacks the body, causing the rot effect. This disease will eventually lead to death, no matter what the host does. The body will end up killing itself. Once infected, you're gone for good.
AAAIN is spread through blood contamination. Ways your blood could get contaminated include:
- bite from an infected
- bodily fluid (blood, saliva) entering the blood stream through a cut or mucus membrane
- unknown
It only takes a matter of days to become a 'zombie.' The host will obviously die in a matter of time, but the lifespan is currently unknown. The zombies are not able to swim and have a limited climbing ability. After being infected, the host's intelligence quickly deteriorates. The only reason zombies live for as long as they do is to pass on the virus.
-How Does AAAIN Work?-
- Virus enters bloodstream
- White blood cells are sent out to kill the virus
- Virus confuses the white blood cells to attack the host
- Virus gets to brain
- Virus feeds off of brain cells and degenerates them
- Alter reality (Schizophrenia)
- Host's skin begins to rot
- Host becomes aggressive and attacks other living things to pass on the virus to another host
- Host dies from a combination of brain damage, organ failure, and blood loss.
-How Limited Are Those Affected?-
One of the most affected areas of the brain is the visual cortex. At first, when infected, everything is clear. However, in a week's time, the host goes completely blind as that entire part of the brain is dead. The same goes for the other senses but slower.
Sight - four months
Smell - nine months
Hearing - one year or longer
Touch - one year or longer
Zombies that are in the first week of being infected are the most dangerous. Take caution.
-Symptoms of AAAIN-
- Dilated eyes
- Greenish/Greyish skin
- Gangrene
- Awful smell
- Increased aggressive behavior
- Slowing motor skills
- Hallucinations
- Slurred speech
- Loss of speech
- Decreased intelligence
- Body aches (head, bite area, chest, etc.)
- Random spasms/seizures
- Inhuman groaning
- Death (some hosts don't survive)
When trying to kill an infected, go straight for the brain.
Small groups of surviving scientists have been trying to find a cure with little to no success. What is the cause of this disease? How will we cure it? And most importantly...

-Types of Infected-
Walkers; Walkers are the most common zombies that can be found. They are relatively slow but basically everywhere and are still very dangerous.
Runners; Runners are a step up from Walkers. They are fast but they are less common. They are still in the earlier stages of their zombification and have more muscle mass than other zombies.
Clickers; Clickers are zombies that make clicking noises. They make these noises to serve as echolocation to them after they go blind.
Crawlers; Crawlers really live up to their names. The just crawl around since they have lost the ability to use their legs. They are pretty easy to kill but can go unnoticed in tall grass or anything of that sort.
Blightful; The blightful are the newly turned zombies that still have all their senses and previous strength. They are highly dangerous and not easily killed as they are much faster and smarter and can even dodge attacks. Do not engage.
