After the transfer, the trad. clans (or at least some of them) have taken an inactive plummet for the worse and things have slowed down quite a bit with characters vanishing. So the question is, how can I raise clan activity?
How to raise clan activity?

track for trad clans
i don't rp in the main game any more, but the backboards are doing really poorly. many of them have posts on the front page from a week ago, and the front page has only 20 threads now -
bumping, but yeees I'm one of the only few ppl posting in rc rn, it's embarrassing lmao b/c it used to be a steady medium before the transfer.
-
thunderclan's doing alright. windclan was slow to begin with, but it's gradually picking back up (or at least it's not as dead as it was before)
don't know how they were before the transfer, i rejoined when the transfer occurred -
Maybe there could be some kind of Clanwide plot. Like maybe something is threatening all of the Clans. But I have literally no ideas what it could be :')

According to the rules from the 'old' feralfront you can't have a plot that involves Thunder, River, Wind, and Shadowclan unless its initiated by an admin or all the leaders agree on it and even then the last time I heard of a Clanswide plot happening was what started the downfall of the Exiles.
-
Ohhh, okay, so a Clanwide plot is out of the question. I didn't know that since I haven't been around here that long

I remember someone saying that the Clans will get more active as people get use to the new version of the site, right now things are broken because fancyposts don't work, colors are hard to use, and the site is still wobbly.

Definitely some two-parent litters that are fcfs! I prefer to develop my characters in game, rather than writing out a lengthy form, which will likely only be a waste of my time and energy due to the amount of applicants. Dittoing plots as well!

^ First come first served :)

First come first serve! So, if you post your application (normally short and to the point with the basics) while there's still a slot open, you get that slot! It's also known as auto-acceptance.

But Traditional Clans are not allowed to Auto Accept?
Display MoreTraditional RP Rules!
Aug 25th 2016
1. No powerplay/godmode.
2. No auto-acceptance required, it's up to the leaders who joins and who doesn't.
3. No two-leg objects (unless you are a kittypet). No two-leg accessories (unless you are a kittypet or BloodClan member.)
4. Inactive leaders can be replaced by the deputy after TWO weeks of ZERO posting.
5. Natural colors only.
6. Only cats (servals, caracals, bobcats, and mixes of those allowed), unless playing loner territory or using as NPCs.
7. Cannot understand human speech, cannot read, cannot write. Cannot use human swears, only swears used in the books (fox-dung, mouse-brain, etc.).
8. Powers that exist in the books are the only powers that can be played.
9. Keep things true to the book series! If it hasn't happened in the book, it probably can't happen in the roleplay. -
I'm talking about litters, not clan joinings. Sorry for any confusion, it's late here! x3
-
But even then the rules say that the leaders are in charge of accepting/not accepting so there can't be any FCFS characters......otherwise everyone'd be aiming for a HP kit
-
No, clan leaders/roleplayers of clan leaders can't control litters. Only the parents/roleplayers of the parents of that litter can accept/deny people. They can also choose if it's FCFS or not.

darkclan is actually somehow doing well but if you look down at all the threads in trad dc, i may or may not have gone crazy with making opening threads today.I think the best way to encourage activity would be through the leader and open threads but ensure the open threads actually have something happening. Avoid open threads where you're just sitting there and saying hi to everyone with no action. But otherwise I think it takes time. When I took over DarkClan, we were pretty inactive and most my threads got no responses. I think things will get better over time like others said and probably ensure the Clan is always updated such as weekly meetings/tasks or introduce conflict. Well that's what I do and although it took forever and I had the help of amazing committed roleplayers, we pulled through and we're surviving the transfer. With what I've seen, all the Clans except Thunder and Dark are suffering inactivity.
also the only times leaders control joinings is if they're in character roleplay. we can't control what's done out of character

Awh thanks guys for all the feedback.
A clanwide plot would be interesting, but like you guys said it's a bit out of question? Hopefully with time activity picks up again, I have a feeling it will. Definitely taking note of the weekly meetings. I'm glad to hear Darkclan pulled through, I remember ya'll were a bit inactive before but that's wonderful! Also, stupid question. I've seen the task threads around, but how do I lead one and what exactly are they? -
Dynamo says Frostsoul is in charge of things like this, so maybe its best to ask Frostsoul? I'm trying to ask her about the clanwide plot idea from earlier
-
Weekly tasks are something I usually let the leader/deputy do and it really just involves asking for characters to come up asking for a task and giving out a task like a patrol, hosting game or something interesting like investigations or patrols but saying they must fill requirements or something.
