  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]It was late afternoon when Sweetophelia returned to camp. There was always so much to do, so many animals to see, and so many plans to make. The workload wasn't overwhelming, seeing as all of her work provided her with a rush of adrenaline, but nevertheless it often left the Ragdoll feeling worn out by the end of the day. It was fortunate that she had a family to look forward to seeing. Because despite all of the recent tragedies, her family could always bring her comfort. Noticing the relatively empty campgrounds, the BlizzardClan leader decided to do a quick check around the camp perimeters before returning to her hut.

    Mack was blank. He'd been so numb, so empty since the death of his clanmates. Barry was a good friend of his, and they had even sparred together. Now he was gone, and Mack felt even alone in a world he had come to distrust, if not despise. The world was a cruel place, he had come to know as he grew up. He'd been broken, beaten, and tortured. He used to think the world was amazing and beautiful, but now..he wasn't sure how he felt about the world in general.

    Padding blankly through the territory, the male's neon eyes caught the leader going into her hut. Tilting his head, the macawnine approached closer but not too close to Sweet's home. "Hello?" He said, his voice that of a crestfallen tone.

Although she had known Tama the longest and best, the death of so many other BlizzardClanners had still hurt her deeply. Barry, Spectralregalia, and Misty - they had all been such promising members. Their untimely deaths were truly tragedies. And Sweetophelia could see that the weight of their deaths still hung heavy over many BlizzardClanners. Mack, who had been so cheerful before, now seemed dull and harder - the canine's voice now even still sounded unenthusiastic and dispirited. "Hello, Mack." She paused, studying his features. "How are you feeling?" He was her deputy, she ought to be in touch with his feelings, shouldn't she?

    --really sorry i forgot to reply ;-;

    When Sweet asked how he was feeling, the deputy shrugged at first, his eyes still masking his pain. The death of his clanmmates and the former leader laid heavily upon his shoulders, to the point where he felt he was in a dark hole he couldn't crawl out of. Still, he knew that this would pass. "Hi Sweet," He said, trying to put on a soft smile. It was hard, but he had to try. "I'm okay. You?"

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]"I've been doing well," Sweetophelia confirmed - her typical answer when confronted with that same and common question. But it was true this time. Her duties always kept her busy, her relationship with Riddlersgame was going smoothly, and her sons, Mieczyslaw and Aleksei, were both growing up to be well-adjusted and contributing members of the clan - at least from what their mother could see. "I haven't been training Mikasa as much as I'd like though." Understandably, the girl was more busy with her brother - the poor lad had lost his leg at the hand of the Cartel. "Do you have an apprentice, Mack?"

    "That's understandable. The Cartel's put a lot of stress on us as of late." He supposed he wasn't wrong; many clanmates had been captured and tortured by those filthy bastards lately, he made him grit his teeth just thinking about them. Rolling his shoulders instead, he sighed softly and shook his head when asked if he had an apprentice. "Not right now. I guess I should, though." Not that he really had anybody in mind, but he'd figure it out should someone need a mentor.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]"I had imagined that with their new 'Gang Wars', we would have begun to see even more of their numbers, but aside from Bill Cipher, I haven't seen any Cartel members encroaching on our territory recently." Of course, the fact pleased Sweetophelia. It also further added credibility to her impression of the Cartel as a spineless group whose words were never backed up by real actions, much like ScarClan actually - at least when she originally knew them. Sweetophelia could no longer recall who had led ScarClan at the time of the BlizzardClan-ScarClan conflict, but the clan seemed to have grown smaller and smaller over time.

    "You've never had an apprentice before either?" She was a bit surprised, but unsurprised at the same time. "How old are you, Mack? If you don't mind my curiosity." He had already been Head Paladin when she had rejoined the clan, and because of their differences in species, Sweetophelia had found it difficult to judge his age with accuracy. Dark ears twitching, the BlizzardClan leader added, "Wisteria was my first apprentice actually. I was a very young warrior when I left BlizzardClan and BloodClan, so I had no time for training apprentices." There was no need to rush in taking on an apprentice.

    The cartel was a disgusting, mindless lot — stepping foot on their territory made his skin crawl. He felt pity for any of his clanmates that had to endure torture on their filthy land. It had to be infested wih a multitude of diseases and plagues, he didn't wish to think of it even when he was quite depressed.

    Sweet seemed a bit surprised upon Mack mentioning he never had an apprentice. He blinked. Was..was he supposed to have one? He didn't hear of anything saying he did, but the leader's inquiry suggested that she didn't realize. She then asked how old he was, to which he simply replied, "Twelve moons." This fact would surely surprise her, then, since he had been head paladin and paladin throughout his apprentice moons, and he had quickly climbed up the ranks as far as he could recall. He heard her mention Wisteria, and the fact that she hadn't had time to train other apprentices in other allegiances she had. He nodded softly.

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]"A year old," Sweetophelia murmured, nodding slightly. She couldn't recall her exact age at the time, but she had been a young warrior when she was promoted to vice-leader under Feliks. She had been an apprentice when she was promoted to deputy. "Congratulations. I must have missed your last birthday." Did animals still celebrate birthdays? She had thrown a party for Feliks once, but Sweetophelia couldn't remember many birthday celebrations in BlizzardClan, BloodClan, or Westeros.

    "So you must have been at least an apprentice when you first joined BlizzardClan. Did you ever have a formal mentor or did you just pick up things here and there?" She was curious to learn more about Mack, seeing as she didn't know him so well as she knew Pierce.

    Mack shrugged. "I don't mind. I didn't know people celebrated birthdays," He said simply. Did they actually throw parties for turning a year older? It sounded fun, honestly, but he was too tired and his depression was taxing.

    "I was a pup. Three moons old. I remember looking up at the stairs, I was a little chubby thing that couldn't control his wings quite yet." Ah, crap, now he was getting all nostalgic. Shaking that off, he focused on the main questions the leader had for him. Stretching his muscular forelegs, he mulled over the inquiry before answering, "When I finally became an apprentice I did get a mentor — I forgot her name but she was a vice-leader back when Tama was around. We only really trained once, so I mainly trained myself and got experience with age."

  • [center][fancypost= width: 450px; text-align: justify;][size=11][font=timesnewroman]"Hmm, you should remind me the next time your birthday comes. Maybe I'll throw you a party." Parties were always fun, and she liked to see her clanmates happy. "It'll be all of your siblings' birthdays too when you turn two years old. I could host one party for all of you."

    So Mack had been a child when he had joined BlizzardClan. That was not so unusual. Sweetophelia had been a rather young child herself, fleeing from the aftermath of the Westerosi civil war and perceived persecution of Targaryens after her sister, Lorina Targaryen, was deposed as queen. "Was her name perhaps Lostboy?" Tama had had another vice-leader - several in fact - but Lostboy was the one Sweetophelia remembered best, at least aside from Matty, Storm, Saltcircles, and Barry. Lostboy was a Paladin when Sweetophelia herself was vice-leader to Feliks.

    "Oh, don't worry about it. It's not a big deal. But thank you," He said, when she mentioned throwing a party for him and his siblings' second birthdays. They were all born on the same day and almost at the same time, so nobody was really the youngest or oldest as far as he knew. Then again, he couldn't recall much at all, other than..the fire. The one he thought not only killed his parents, but his littermates as well. Alas, his siblings were alive and with him, and he was forever grateful to whatever force reunited him with them.

    When Sweet mentioned the name Lostboy, he hummed in thought, furrowing his brow. "Hm..I recognize her name, but I'm unsure if she was my mentor or not. I think she might've been, but I can't say for sure." Mack's mind was fuzzy in places. His head was still hurting from his eye injury for some reason, and the impact of the claws on his face had probably done something to his head to make him a little less coherent. Nonetheless, he would perform his duties to the best of his abilities for now.
