  • Toben- Centaur
    Toben smiled when he saw Kate blush and ducked his head slightly as if feeling a sympathy blush beginning to appear. "Yeah I love the ocean. Horses are powerful swimmers so being part horse makes swimming pretty easy." He explained as his black tail swished slightly as he spoke. "It makes surfing a real pain in the rear though." He chuckled with a shake of his head at the lame joke.

    Zero Michel- Son of Hades
    Upon being spoken to the skeleton nodded its head and clacked its jaws. Zero looked between the two and smile, "He said that it is a pleasure to meet you as well." The little boy translated and looked over at Chez. "He also says that we would like to pet Myaro, if that's okay?"

    Orion Weiss- Son of Chione
    After deciding to give up on cleaning the book of sand Orion closed its cover and looked up at the young man in front of him. "Oh, I'm Orion." He introduced while keeping his hands closed around his book rather than offering to shake hand with Pierce. After all Pierce hadn't lifted his hand for it to be shaken so Orion wasn't going to do it. "No sorry necessary by the way. I mostly keep to myself so I don't really know anyone here and no one knows me." The white haired boy explained.

    KATE;;

    Kate laughed again. "I bet it would be. Surfing...I haven't done that in forever. Definitely something I'll do again soon." She drank some water, then placed the glass down. "So, Toben, tell me about yourself." She was intrigued - she had never spoken to a centaur before.

  • "Yeah, you're not telling me twice," Xander muttered darkly in reply. Perhaps it was a lie that is mother had abandoned him, but he felt no love for her regardless. The things she had put him through, the childhood she'd stolen from him... It was unforgivable. His tone became a little lighter though, as he pushed the anger down. "I guess I always anticipated it though. I'm just surprised it was at some halfway home or under a bridge," he joked, knowing full well it was a dark thing to make fun of. "What about you?" he asked curiously as he pushed a tree branch with his forearm. "What's your story? Mother dump you off too?"

    Cordelia fell silent at Fay's comments, looking quite sad herself. She was silent several heart beats, then she reached out to Fay and squeezed the other girl's shoulder in a comforting gesture. "Nature is cyclical," she said thoughtfully. "With time, the forest will regain all that has been taken from it. Then you'll be able to see it again. For sure," Cordelia said to her friend, smiling comfortingly. They weren't even empty words meant to ease the pain. Cordelia truly believed them. "In the meantime, you can come visit the stables with me some time. And when it's said and done, you can take me to visit the rain forest!"

  • River Magnus- Daughter of Ares & Aphrodite
    River knew that Xander was just joking around, and that it was probably a way to mask his feelings, so she simply nodded and kept moving forward. Moving forward, what she had been doing for years now, just keep putting one foot in front of the other and hope for the best. It wasn't until today that she really began to feel the last three years, most of the time she lost track of how long she had been on her own, time just didn't seem to exist, except it did and today she was feeling it more than ever. Upon hearing Xander's question, River stopped and narrowed her eyes looking at where a tree had fallen and its jagged stump remained. "No." She breathed and felt her hardened heart break a bit as she continued. "She died. Three years ago. Some drunk idiot slammed her off the highway." River uttered, her words chilling and clearly not ones she often spoke of.

    Fay- Nymph/ Daughter of Pan
    The feeling of a hand on her shoulder snapped Fay from the somber thoughts that had clouded her mind. Looking up at Cordelia the young nymph smiled and nodded her head in agreement. "You're right Cordelia." She sighed and smiled thoughtfully. "Nature has always prevailed." She agreed and smiled even wider at the mention of one day visiting the stables the Poseidon girl had spoken of. "That sounds like a wonderful idea! I have nit seen much of this country other than Camp, I would love to see where you come from." Fay grinned, looking like she had just won the lottery.

    Zero Michel- Son of Hades
    "Yay! Chez! She said you could pet the kitten!" Zero informed his guardian excitedly. With a slight creaking sound the smoking black skeleton approached the group and reached a bony hand out. With a surprising gentle touch Chez began to stroke Myaro's soft calico pelt.

    Toben- Centaur
    "Well their ain't much to say." Toben admitted. "Centaur's aren't that different from normal folk other than being part horse. We enjoy all sorts of activities and being in each others company. Family reunions always get crazy because for some reason we all have a strong like'n for paintball. I personally enjoy barrel racing and a good ol' lasso competition." He continued trying to think about what he usually did back home in Texas.

  • Myaro sniffs Chez curiously, her tiny body rumbling with her purr. Kiara grins, now perfectly at ease with the strange creature. She's gotten used to her life being crazy at this point:

    KATE;;

    Kate had finished her meal, so she put everything together on her plate so she could deal with the garbage and dirty dishes. "That sounds like a lot of fun! I've never been paintballing before. What's it like?" She asked, standing with her empty plate. She was quite shorter than him, her head reaching just to his pecs. She laughed a bit, slightly embarrassed. "Here, walk with me." She put her plate where everyone elses was and began walking out of the hall.

  • [finally a day off from work hoooooo boy]

    Aurora eyed Xena, then yawned pointedly before stating, "I regret not sleeping, honestly. That and drinking whiskey. Not my best idea." With a toothy grin, she rubbed her forehead idly and nibbled on a slice of cake. "Besides, you're up early. Or am I up late?"

    the lack of muse is strong in this post

  • Pierce nodded with a tiny sigh of relief. "Hmm interesting, so you're a child of...?" He said trailing off able to make a guess but letting Orion explain in case he was willing to let off a bit of his history. He doubted it especially considering how he just said he kept to himself but people can surprise you sometimes. He had to admit Orion interested him. He wondered how long he had been at camp, what he liked to do, etc. Although the same could realistically be said for anyone he didn't know in camp.

  • "Ah..." Xander trailed off quietly, feeling slightly awkward. He was no stranger to death. He was, after all, a son of Hades. Still though, he had never really come into contact with someone who had been affected by death and felt some sadness towards it. All of his prior associations were that of indifference. "That's why I say alcohol is a damnable offense, you know?" he offered, trying to lighten the mood a little. But he realized it most likely was a welcome comfort, and instead offered, "I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure she was a lovely woman." The words felt strange in his mouth. Xander had never much understood the act of apologizing as a means of expressing condolences. Why apologize for something you had nothing to do with?

    Cordelia laughed a little, her eyes sparkling. "It's cold," she warned Fay playfully. "Probably the coldest place you've been to, thus far. You'll need a big jacket first," she declared, nodding with certainty. "But I'd love to show you around. Have you ever seen a lobster before? We've got tons of them," she chattered conversationally, knowing Fay liked animals.

    {Xena}

    {Daughter of Hecate}

    ~

    {Xena's face remained impassive, but internally she was disgusted at her half-sister's consumption of alcohol. Aurora could get into some serious trouble doing that on camp grounds, especially if Mr. D found out. "You're late," Xena informed her, answering the question. Xena didn't think you could really be early or late so long as you made it to breakfast at some point, but was just her opinion.}

    {Nathan}

    {Son of Ares}

    ~

    {Nathan grinned as they clashed, his eyes dancing in excitement. Naturally, he'd seen the trick Angel was trying to pull many times before, so so he lightly twisted away from her, disengaging temporarily from the combat. Then, he darted back in, again arcing the sword towards them, but this time he aimed a kick at their shin as well. Just for good measure.}

    OOC: I'm aware that Angel isn't a petite character. But Nathan is not so aware. As I guy who's around 6'3" and who I thought was established pretty well not to be so bright, he would describe anyone shorter than him as petite, because that's the kind of character he is.

  • Ah okay, didn't really know that. I'm clueless half the time

    They jumped backwards to avoid the swipe, and unknowingly the kick. The wooden sword came close to hitting their shoulder before they had moved. Angel circled the son of Ares swiftly, not leaving much room for him to charge at them without them running to the side. Of course they knew it wouldn't work for long so they sprinted forward and aimed to hit his back with the flat of the practice sword's blade. If it met its mark the side of the blade would slam into his back, in between his shoulders, hard, as they twisted their body around to avoid his own sword and to add power to their swing.

  • Finnigan Vertes Meyers

    Finnigan had his nose his book as he stepped out of the cabin, he lowered his book a bit to look out at the scenery. He supposed he should attempt to socialize with others, or at the very least people watch for a bit to see how others act. He closed his book and began to roam about the camp, his blue eyes taking in everything around him.

  • River Magnus- Daughter of Ares & Aphrodite
    "Don't apologize." River replied with a hit of forcefulness to her words. "Apologizing for something you had no part in...it's not as meaningful as people want you to believe." She explained and turned to look at Xander. "When you say you're sorry for something like that it means you're sorry for bringing up the pain. Don't be sorry for that, the pain means that I still love her, that I still remember her enough for it to hurt. The pain keeps the memories of her alive, once the pain dies, the memories die with it." River uttered, she knew it sounded sappy and dramatic, but it was true. The times she remembered her mother best was when she felt the pain of losing her. Pain seemed to make the memories brighter. "Besides, it isn't you who needs to apologize." She added before turning to continue the hike towards the hill.
    OOC: Rosie! Mer! I'm planning on bringing in you know what soon so just be ready!

    Fay- Nymph/ Daughter of Pan
    "A lobster?" Fay asked having never heard of the animal and wondering what it might look like. The name did not give much away about what the creature could be but clearly it was something people 'had' which Fay could only assume meant ate. "I have not heard of such a thing before, and I do not eat other creatures." She admitted with a small smile. "It just does not seem right to eat them when I spend my life protecting them. Very few nymphs I know actually eat meat."

    Zero Michel- Son of Hades
    "Hey Kiara, is that the camping place?" Zero asked as he noticed a hill with a pine tree standing at the very top of it. "Daddy told me to look for the hill with the pine tree and that looks like a hill with a pine tree."

    Toben- Centaur
    Upon being asked to follow, Toben nodded his head and clomped alongside Kate as she exited the pavilion. "Oh well..." He tried to think of how best to explain the experience of paintball to someone who had never been before. "I reckon being hit sort of feels like getting shot by an acorn that was fired at you by a powerful sling shot." He explained knowing that it sounded weird. "It's pretty darn painful but you get used to it and learn to wear layers. Took a few games before I figured that part out." He admitted knowing that it sounded pretty stupid. "If you get hit and aren't layered properly you'll get a nasty bruise. But the strategy is fun and so is getting to shoot a few annoying relatives." Toben laughed and looked down at Kate hoping he hadn't completely scared her away from the game.

    Orion Weiss- Son of Chione
    "Chione." Orion stated simply though internally he felt icy anger ignite in his heart for a moment. It died quickly and was replaced with a feeling of indifference that he maintained for all of his relatives. "And what about you?" He asked feeling it was only fair for Pierce to share his godly parent not that he had. Thinking back Orion was pretty sure that this was the most he had said to anyone at camp since the first day when he was forced to interact with several other people. The situation was an odd one but Orion decided to stick it out for now.

  • Kiara grins, looking to the tree. "Yeah! I was trying to run up there. Then I remembered that I'm absolute rubbish at running." She says, chuckling in embarrassment. "We should probably just walk, on second thought."

    KATE;;

    Kate laughed again. "Why, that does sound amusing. Nasty bruises don't though, but they're just bruises." She looked up at him and gave him a smile, enjoying her time with him. She tied her hair up in a pony-tail, happy to feel free of any burdens for once. For the first time in a while, Kate wasn't stressed - which she usually was. "Relatives...I wish I could see mine." A twang of wistfulness hit her in the chest, but it went away as quickly as it came. "Then again, I think I have some here that I haven't met yet." She raised her eyebrows, wondering who they were and what they'd be like.

    Iapetus frowned, his head spinning from sitting up too suddenly. Resting his right hand on the side of his head Iapetus spun around, looking around the dimly lit room before shaking his head and grabbing the armour from beside his bed. Despite just waking up, Ips was to go train, his usual routine would have him up much earlier but it had seemed like he had slept in, something that was unusual for the tall boy. Once he had gotten of what looked like most of his armour on Iapetus reached for his helmet, holding his hand for a few seconds over the helmet his father had given him before grabbing the one beside it, there was no need to go under cover in camp. Now fully armoured, Ips grabbed one of his smaller swords from the rack that set beside his bed and walked out of his cabin, eyes squinting as they adjusted to the light. Iapetus strode towards the training grounds, his mind wandering to various thoughts that he couldn't exactly pin point.

  • Zero Michel- Son of Hades
    "Alright! I like walking! So does Chez, he said that running makes his bones feel weird." Zero replied with a wide smile as he turned to start making his way up the hill. The young child was practically skipping at the idea of finally reaching the camp that he had been journeying to for days. "Come on Kiara, let's go!" He grinned and took her hand to make sure she walked with him.

    Toben- Centaur
    When Toben heard Kate's last few words he felt a sense of guilt flood his stomach. He sometimes forgot how hard it could be for demi-gods and their families, some had it good, but others weren't as lucky. He couldn't help but wonder what had happened to Kate's family that she could no longer see them, but he felt it wasn't his place to ask. "I'm sure if you ask my uncle he'll point out some of your siblings to you." The centaur reassured with a kind and hopeful smile.
