  • So, I was thinking of this for the basic plot:
    A classical fantasy world populated mainly with humans, elves, and dwarves, as well as various other species of humanoids and magical creatures. For the most part everybody gets along decently, though there are definitely many minor disputes. A clan of nomadic elves has gotten into trouble with another group (doesn't necessarily have to be another species, anything you want) for trespassing and taking resources from a mountain area. A small fight broke out about a month ago, and now the clan is battling the "owners" of the land. One of our characters is from the "owners" and was investigating the supposed presence of enemy elves hiding out in a cave system. They were in fact there, and another fight broke out. Somehow, possibly from magic use, the caves began to collapse. Our characters, and very possibly others, were trapped and must find their way out. They'd better learn to work together, at least long enough to survive and find their way out. We'll probably find our way out in the future, and maybe something about the experience will have changed some minds a bit. Maybe the characters will even fall in love.

  • Thank you so much! I feel like you getting to have the character that was a local would give you more freedom, so I'll go with the nomadic elf. Will try to get that done soon.

  • Okay, so I just whipped this up and I think I have almost everything covered. If I forgot anything or you don't like it, feel free to change some stuff around.

  • Thank you so much! You're so nice. I'll be thinking "Oh, I dunno, it was kinda lame..." and then you chime in with a compliment and I just freak out every time. Thanks.

    And yeah, good choice. THe one time I tried to fill a form out on my phone it was really bad and jumpy and there were typos everywhere and I went to check something in another app real quick so everything got deleted. It was terrible.

    MBTI test just tells if someone is Extrovert or Introverted, Sensing or Intuitive, Thinking or Feeling, and Judging or Perceiving.
    Here's a link if you want to take the test: https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test

    I'm a dork and like to take the tests pretending to be my characters to see what type they are and what Hogwarts/Ilvermorny house and all that. It's really fun and I think it can help if you can't quite pin down a personality but you know what they would do in certain situations and stuff like that.

    And I might be done with my character tonight after play practice, so around 8-9.

  • I'm not nice, don't overdo it. It's just normal for me to give praise to where it's needed. It looked so-so at first but opening the spoilers was enough for me to see how detailed it was in fact. So no need to thank me. ^^

    Ah, that sounds like something my sister would do. Sadly, I'll be on my PC for sure in 14 hours, but I'll be back at midnight, gotta sleep. Good luck with your practice. ^^

  • Name: Amaya Harwood
    Age (Actual and Perceived): 19/20-21
    Species/Race: Human
    Gender: Female

    History: Amaya hasn't a history that she likes to talk about too much. Having been attacked by dwarves at her old home, that broke into the house, she managed to get away from the attack safe relatively speaking, only having a few scars ever since from cuts on her left arm, which she mainly tries to cover, be it some sort of glove or garb they're under the cover of. However, in her running away she eventually lost track of her house, which is where she got to today, being a wanderer who got lost and eventually hired into the 'military forces' of a nearby village to her town, now living there on her own with a job as a huntress, taking on requests mainly, much like a mercenary.
    Skills (proficiencies, powers, etc.):

    Extra: I cropped out some of the parts I wouldn't use too much, sorry, just to not have blank spoilers though. I hope you aren't angry or let down. ^^;

  • No, no, that's fine! I rarely get truly angry, anyway. They were optional so you could pick and choose what you wanted to put. I hate it when the form has that one section that you just don't know what to put down but you're pretty sure it's required and it just kind of shuts down your creative process. I don't know why but trying to find theme songs and face claims and stuff is really hard for me.

    Anyway, SHE LOOKS AMAZING! What a sweetie. I have a weakness for strong independent huntresses, I think.

    Sorry that took me so long. I have to admit, I'm not wholly satisfied with how this character turned out, but I feel like as I develop her she'll start to grow more towards the ideal. But at this point I've changed her so much that I'm just gonna stick with what I have down.

  • It's okay, don't sweat it. And thanks hon. I'm kind of getting ready for school though so I'll check it out at noon, I've left 5 threads unreplied too. Dx

    Feelsbadman. ;-;

  • Alright, that's good (really love Tamrie, she's amazing in so many ways~)! So then, can you start up the thread? Not too sure how to have it start with Amaya instead, since she's always just training jumping from wall to wall and climbing to rooftops and whatnot in her free time. ;3;

  • (I'm just gonna say this is before the assault on the cave, then, but that will probably happen very soon.)

    Tamrie had woken early to take the livestock out to graze. From the mountain cave it was not easy to keep an eye on them all, and there were too many risks. But it wasn't exactly easy to sneak around a whole herd. So, she went early. Insanely early. Five hours before the sun had risen early. So it wasn't surprising when she fell asleep watching her clan's animals roam the meadow she had found. When she woke, the sun had just begun peeking over the horizon and she could see the nearby town in the distance. Some people, like hunters or farmers, were probably already awake. That couldn't be good. The whole point of coming out in the middle of the night had been to keep out of sight. Their arrival had not been welcoming and the clan had been met with plenty of hostility once they started settling into the area. Not being able to trade with any of the locals had really been a problem. They could live off the land, but their group had grown large enough that it was really better to get supplemental supplies rather than try to hunt or gather all of that food.
    Pulling herself out of thought, Tamrie realized it would be best to start heading back as soon as possible. The elf put her fingers in her mouth, whistling as loud as she dared, and watching as the cows, sheep, and few goats and pigs. Tido (the goose) also came flying in at the sound. She did a quick headcount and, sure that all of the animals she had brought were here, set off to the trail she had taken through the forest, stopping at the beginning and letting the animals go ahead of her so she could watch them all. She just hoped no one had seen her, and she would get back to the cave unnoticed, but in her but she knew that was a nearly impossible task.
    The sun had risen by now, and was shining through the forest, only blocked by the leaves that still clung to their trees. Autumn was almost over, which was one of the reasons the clan hadn't moved on yet. From years past they had learned it was best to try settling down and preparing for winter rather than dealing with all the hazards of travelling through whatever the harshest season could throw at them. There may have been a small opportunity for them to leave before winter, but Xephyros (the weather wizard) had predicted a large storm coming very soon, and they did not want to take the chance of getting stuck between towns. And so their best option had been to stay in an area where they were definitely not welcome (as shown by the assault from locals a month earlier) and with supplies left from the last town that probably wouldn't last them through the winter.
    There had been discussions about whether they would be attacked again, and when, and if there could be some sort of compromise, but the one who was now in charge of their group had a bad temper and had apparently developed some sort of grudge against the locals. Tamrie hoped that he would soon realize how foolish he was being and realize that pushing everyone away made it very hard to survive. Perhaps her cousin could take over. He was certainly old enough, and made a good leader of the guard. He just needed a good reason, and an encouraging shove. This was the perfect time for a change in leadership, surely. And so she wandered up the mountain path, watching her herd, but mostly lost in her worries.

    (I figured someone probably spotted or will spot Tamrie, or will find the tracks left by the animals going up the path. And when they go to investigate, there's the assualt on the cave colony. Maybe Amaya would be out hunting and see her, or maybe she would show up with the assault group. It's up to you, of course. Feel free to use a better idea of your own.)

  • OOC: Alright, that's more likely what I will do. Because there's nothing better at this moment, you know? :P

    IC: Amaya had just woken up a bit before Tamrie did, stretching and casually walking downstairs from the upper floor of her house where her bedroom was located, looking around to see that she was alone, again. She had always had this habit in hopes that somebody such as her parents could at last appear out of thin air, because... She didn't know whether they were alive, or not. They were lost, forever, because of Amaya's will to live. Lost from her, at least. She sighed and quietly walked outside of her house, before she closed the door behind her, her twin daggers sheathed on the belt around her bottom, to the sides. Seeing how the town was up and going already, she quietly started making her way to the hill, in order to start watching over every single animal and creature she could find in the forest, where leafing wasn't too dense, so that she knew which 'prey' to pick to hunt.
    Once she was up on the top of the hill she noticed something before even starting to scout, it was.. trails. That was normal, but most of all what seemed like a humanoid's trails, and not just three or four, but far too many animal paw trails. What could this be, somebody had already been here? This was certainly interesting, since she didn't know anybody from the village that was a shepherd or anything of the such. She started following the trails quietly, and slowly as she slid the two daggers she had belted out of their sheaths, a grin starting to form at her lips as she whispered lowly, having always enjoyed the thrill of the hunt. "... An invader..? Or possibly a spy disguised as a shepherd..? Tch. It's on either way..."
    With that, she climbed on top of a tree once she had a clear idea of where the trail led, so that she was far too hard to spot unless she made a lot of noise, but she was practiced for this. A huntress with enough potential to duel somebody, or even assassinate. She was not somebody to be underestimated in stealth, or even when visible. Having continued to jump from tree branch to tree branch, following the trails strictly, she eventually saw the large herds of animals before being careful to be as quiet as she could be, spotting an elf too. She kept following calmly, wanting to see where this would lead, if she was going to assault. Perhaps they could take out the entire race like that, but going back to the village and losing sight of the elf was too much now. Amaya felt like she was on a mission, of her own. She couldn't fail them, not this time at least.

  • Tamrie limped along behind the animals, grateful when she finally spotted the entrance of the cave and the small temporary buildings and structures that had been set up around it. She drove the group towards the fenced in area, which took up much of the mostly level clearing. The buildings were set up closer to the cliff, with the animals closer to the center and the cave. She didn't trust them not to get into trouble. Or rather, she didn't trust some of the hooligans in the group who thought it was funny to mess with the livestock. As she chased in the last calf into the fence, she closed the gate and admired the little set-up. Plenty of it was flimsy and wouldn't last more than a year, sure, but it was only temporary, so that didn't matter. But having something like this... It almost started feeling like a home again. Now if only they could work something out with the locals. Tamrie made sure the animals had plenty to drink, taking the time to pet a few of them even, then set off to find her cousin.

    (Sorry for mediocre quality and short-ish post. I'm actually in school now. GOt done with a computer assignment early.)

  • OOC: It's okay, I usually find it fairly hard to do that long posts, unless a lot of events have happened. My average would be 2-3 paragraphs max with about 3-6 lines. o3o

    IC: Amaya noticed how she had reached the cave and there was even an area for them to live, a more psychotic smile than before plastered on her lips now. "... This is interesting." She mumbled to herself sitting on the top of a tree branch in the edge of the forest before she quickly started moving back to the village, in order to inform the villagers and 'rid of them' as soon as they could. She chuckled to herself as she did, wanting to see the elves die- anything that wasn't human was as close to trash as it could get to be perfectly honest like that, all dispensable to her. Why would she need more humanoids only to spread confusion with their many races and fancy clothes when they were eating up their food, or even material the animals could use instead? She didn't understand it, and she wasn't going to either at this rate. Once she arrived at the village, she quietly informed the elders about the cave system and the elf she had seen, once she was done waiting with crossed arms before an assault team was deployed, starting to make its way towards the cave in order to eliminate them. Amaya followed quietly, wanting to see it before her very eyes.

  • (Yeah, I usually stick with about one or two paragraphs per character. But I usually have like five characters if I'm allowed to, so... XD)

    Tamrie spotted one of the caravan guards and walked up to them. "Hey, have you seen Veelin?" she asked.
    "The Captain? I think he went inside earlier, Ma'am." The warrior said.
    "Thanks. Good day." Tamrie answered, offering a wave to the guard and heading for the cave.

    (Ugghhh I'm so tired. I actually fell asleep while writing this. I planned for this to be longer, but it doesn't matter depending on how long you want to hold off the attack. It's just gonna be a conversation about what they should do about the new leader and Tam trying to convince her cousin that he should take over.)

  • OOC: oh my jeebus. o.o

    Sorry. I didn't know that you wanted this to go slowly. D:

    IC: As the assault team made its way towards the forest, eventually some of the backline got tired due to having low endurance in any similar situation, at which Amaya just shook her head in disapproval. "These... Urgh." She mumbled lowly to herself, crossing her arms as she waited for them to rest back up to normal once again, having walked into a dense part of the forest to avoid being spotted while the 'break' was commencing.
