  • Anna nodded vigorously at Ahi's suggestion. "I agree," she added, "this place could be dangerous, and those noises probably aren't caused by anything friendly. I don't wan't to be alone if something bad happens..."

She trailed off, staring down the tunnel that Seraph had pointed to. At her side Ambrosa followed Anna's gaze, chattering nervously and edging closer to the trainer as she did so. For a moment Anna thought that she could see something moving in the distance, but when nothing came of it she brushed it off as a figment of her overactive imagination. This place was making her jumpy.

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]Anna wasn't the only one who thought they seen something. Suddenly, Seraph's Aerodactly snarled loudly and charged forward, stopping at the mouth of the tunnel. His tail lashed from side to side in an aggressive manner as he paced back and forth, waiting for any sort of movement. The purple avian grumbled in irritation when everything remained still, and with a huff of effort he fluttered into the air, landing at Seraph's side. She would've made a move to stop him, but she knew he wouldn't go anywhere without her telling him too. Not in this type of situation at least. Patting his head, the trainer pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes, staring down the tunnel. "Alright then," she hummed, then started to enter the natural underpass. Her Aerodactly growled subtly before following her in, glancing around wearily. He moved closer to his trainer due to the increased noise and, surprisingly, a bit of fear.

  • Anna jumped slightly as the aerodactyl leaped forwards, only helping to increase her nervousness about the whole affair. The trainer wasn't sure whether to be relieved or worried about the lack of response to the pokemon's challenge; she almost wanted something to appear, if only to break the tense atmosphere that was starting to form in the cavern. "Perhaps we should get moving," she suggested, walking across to the tunnel mouth. Ambrosa scuttled ahead, stopping a couple of metres away from them to pace impatiently in the middle of the tunnel. The sableye looked as agitated as Anna felt, and Anna couldn't help but be grateful for the confirmation that she was not alone in her discomfort.

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]Seraph and her Aerodactyl were quite far ahead in the tunnel now; her footsteps were brisk and her strides were long. She was ready to tackle whatever was down that tunnel, and so was her Pokémon companion. He quietly snarled at the plant life around them, making sure it didn't make a move. He wasn't sure if they were plants were actually plants; they could be creatures in disguise.

    //low muse- rushed

  • Anna steeled her courage and quickly followed behind her newest friend, while her sableye scampered forwards to alongside Seraph's aerodactyl. A determined expression had settled on the trainer's face, and her stance was now more defensive than cowering. She kept a wary eye on the path ahead, which still looked to be clear, except - was it just her, or did the once-distant noises sound like they had gotten a lot closer?

"Do you hear that?" she asked aloud, lengthening her stride so that she was walking next to Seraph. A worried frown creased her forehead, which she quickly tried to lose. Now was not the time to give in to paranoia. She needed to remain cool and collected, for her brother's sake if nothing else. The thought that he might be out there, alone, in this alien world, was enough to make Anna's blood run cold.

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]"It's getting closer," Seraph responded, her eyes narrowed. Her Aerodactly audibly growled due to the increased volume, but he quickly stopped when he noticed the Sableye scampering beside him. Grumbling quietly, the purple avian stared at the Pokémon for a few moments, then redirected his gaze back forward. An irritated expression was upon his face; whatever was out there, it was annoying him. It was either that, or the tension was starting to irritate him.

  • "Of course it is," Anna sighed, her fears confirmed. Already, this strange new world looked like it wanted to test them. Luckily, the end of the tunnel was in sight, a soft green glow illuminating the open area that it lead to. Anna was about to point this out, when she was interrupted by a couple of rocks falling from the earthy ceiling above them and clattering onto the tunnel floor. Another of the odd noises immediately followed, but this time it was a lot closer, and also seemed to be coming from - above them?

Anna barely had enough time to dive out of the way, before the roof collapsed downwards, and an alien, worm-like creature burrowed its way into the tunnel behind the group. The beast was huge - at least three metres long - and its open maw was lined with wicked-looking teeth. Each part of its segmented body was covered in jagged scales.

Anna hazarded a guess that it wasn't friendly and beat a hasty retreat, screaming; "What the h*ll is that thing?!"

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]Seraph cursed quite loudly when the beast suddenly broke through the ceiling, which her Aerodactyl conveniently censored with a well-times screech of shock. Not stalling any further the purple avian knocked Seraph onto his back and fluttered into the air, then shot down the narrow tunnel in an attempt to escape. Dropping Seraph off a good ways away from the beast, the Aerodactyl then flew back down the tunnel, and with a screech of aggression it slammed its tail into the ceiling above them, causing a few rocks to rain down atop the beast.

Rummaging through her bag, Seraph pulled out another Pokéball, which held her Lucario. When she appeared with a flash of light, Seraph immediately grabbed her hand and booked it down the tunnel, startling the fighting-type.

  • Ambrosa entered the fray, firing off a confuse ray while the spirit shackles hindered her opponent's movement. Luckily, the sableye presented a small target, and managed to avoid the falling rocks and swiping tail that was sent her way.

Anna, meanwhile, had followed Seraph's lead and was now racing away from the tunnel while her dark-ghost companion helped to distract the worm monster. After a couple of moments spent fumbling around in her bag, she managed to retrieve another pokeball and summoned her sceptile to help her along. "Let's get out of here!" she yelled over her shoulder, trying to get the attention of any stragglers.

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]Seraph's Aerodactyl swooped down near her and landed heavily, kicking some dust up into the air as its feet touched the ground. The purple avian turned in the direction of the beast with a loud snarl and spread his wings, forming a barrier of sorts between her and it. "He has a point," Seraph responded, rummaging through her bag in search of her Mega Ring. Slipping the bracelet on, the trainer waited for any sort of movement signaling its return. Once it showed up, if it even did, she'd Mega Evolve her Lucario. The fighting-type growled audibly and drew herself into a fighting stance, eyes narrowed.

  • "I don't care what we do, I just want to get some distance between us and it!" Anna exclaimed, shooting a wide-eyed glance down the tunnel towards where she had last seen the monster. It was quite far away from them now, and had apparently been waylaid by whatever the other pokemon had done to it, so Anna figured that they probably had a couple of moments to come up with a plan. "Perhaps would could block the tunnel, somehow," she eventually suggested, "or just leg it into the next cavern? Though I don't think either option will deter it for long."

As if in response to this the worm monster let out a rattling screech, making Anna wince and flinch again. Her sableye had caught up with them while they were talking, and had joined the sceptile at her side. Both pokemon sent wary glances in the creature's direction, readying attacks in case it got too close again.

  • OOC: hahaha really good to see you too. i just finished reading through everything and i think i got a perfect way into the thread now - i'll be your way out of this dangerous situation xD

At the moment everything seemed to be at their most chaotic, another rumble grew under their feet. The monster was still temporarily incapacitated, so what was still underground? An agonizing moment later, a head popped out of the ground. It was a Garchomp followed by a feminine head of a human. She hurriedly whispered to the strangers, "Hey! Quick! Come this way, I know of a safe place!" a hole started to form around her from the Garchomp using Dig to make it able for the small group to crawl into

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]Seraph visibly leaped back in surprise and just barely managed to suppress a yelp, but quickly regained composure when she saw the trainer. The surprised expression upon her face was replaced with a stoic one, then a skeptical one. She didn't speak, but her mind was racing. At the moment, they were facing certain death and possible death.

She'd take possible over certain any day.

"It's either certain death or possible death, I'm going with possible," she hummed, staring down the hole curiously.

  • flynn growled quietly at them before glancing at the worm-like monster once more, "Look, that thing feels better by the second. If you want a safe place for a little while, come with me now! I won't ask again before you're on your own."
