  • [id use a fancy post but they don't work for me on mobile!]

Mia & y/c have been roommates sharing an apartment / flat for about two years now. Now they're not really friends, more like acquaintances. Sometimes they hang out together , but for the most part remain in their own separate social circles , yet live together quite peacefully. Then one day Mia's boyfriend dies - someone she was in love with, and planned on marrying, moving in with, having a family. So it devastated her. After that, the young woman changed. Other than work so that she could help pay the rent, Mia stayed locked in her room. She turned into a zombie - and still was a zombie for months afterwards. Y/c eventually steps in -- starts to talk to her, to help her get out of the hole Mia sunk herself into. They develop a real friendship for the first time, and Mia starts to realize that she can't just sit around and mope for the rest of her life. Mia and y/c end up becoming close - realizing they had a connection. Perhaps Mia even helps y/c learn or help him through a thing or two. They find meaning in each other & well, possibly love?

To the claimer -- I just thought this would be a cute little slow burn contempt romance of two roommates ~ your character will just sort of open Mia's eyes, where she realizes how to really live again, & then they fall in love. also some angst lets add angst to this ~ like maybe your character is in a relationship before they start developing feelings for each other. I'd like this to be bxg, so please pick a male fc ~ preferably not an emo or kpop fc. Please all I ask is that you're ACTIVE and are SEMI ADV TO ADV. I'm talking fancies (though not required) and multiple paragraphs. Thanks, claim away

  • I'll happily join this! I don't have a fancy though >< I used to have a really nice one but then we changed to this site and it doesn't work.

And yeah, I have an idea! Donem could be in a relationship with a girl that's cheating on him, or is just poisonous and it's really sucking the life out of him?

    Name: Donem Myric Warren

    Age: 21

Personality: Donem is well mannered and quiet. The male rarely likes to bother anyone and has a great work ethic, he tries hard in what he does st University. Done mid studying psychology to become a psychiatrist. Donem is also quite awkward when he first talks to someone, he jut never really seems to know what to say, but once comfortable around that person, he is quite humorous and nice to be around due to his friendly and approachable self. He is, however, always ready to drop anything he may be doing to help another whom of which needs help.

Likes: Donem is addicted to coffee, books and music. Mostly Fall Out Boy.

Dislikes: Donem is terrified of elevators, and hates loud parties and raves. They make him uncomfortable.

  • yeah I had a really nice one too and the new site just ruined everything.

that sounds good-either option is fine with me so you can decide what you'd like for your character ^^

this is who I'll use for Mia. I can start in a moment ??

  • [^^]

Mia would be lying to herself if she said she didn't think this mourning had gone on too long - this lack of well, life in her. But she didn't care, she just wanted to be left alone. She just wanted to get by, day by day. She wished Kyle was still by her side. He would know what to do, he would know how to take care of her. But if Kyle was there, alive, she wouldn't be like this. They'd most likely have been engaged by now.

He was perfect for her in every way. He liked almost everything she did - he was a musician, a pianist, and Mia would song write or occassionally sing. They'd planned to start a little group together on YouTube, since that was how most people made it these days. He'd liked all of her favorite movies, they shared similar favorite bands, tv shows. Of course there were little differences but they cliqued so well. Mia was convinced he was her perfect other half; they were inseparable. And then he was ripped from her life in an instant.

It was devastating for Mia, for him to go in such a tragic way. Mia wish she could have been there somehow to have rolled him onto his side, to have helped him in time. But she had switched shifts with someone. Mia would have been there - she blamed herself ever since. It was about eight months later now,and life without him became colorless, dull, lacking any sort of light. Kyle was everything and just like her mother and father, he'd left her alone.

The young woman only ever left the house to go to work, or to do laundry. She didn't see her friends anymore, heck they'd stopped texting her or coming around. Mia had seen a therapist at first, but nothing about that made her feel any better so she never went back. She still occasionally took medicine to calm her emotions, but she only ever felt empty. Work was her only distraction, that took her mind away from Kyle.

Mia was a manager at a bookstore - and dealing with people, her coworkers and employees - busy work managing made things much much easier for her. But after work she never felt like hanging out with friends, never felt like really doing anything so all she did was crawl into bed and lay there, wallowing in self pity.

Mia was there currently, laying in bed. It was her day off and she was planning on spending it preferably unconscious, or in bed the whole day. Just sitting around the apartment. Her roommate had been rather distant - then again they had never really been friends. Of course they lived comfortably with each other, having small conversations, but she wouldn't necessarily say they were very close by any means. He was easy to live with and Mia and him had no issues with each other. She was glad he'd left her alone during this mourning process, which never seemed to end. Mia let out a long sigh and shifted, staring towards her bedroom door, debating getting up to take a bath, or have breakfast, or what....

  • This sucked. Donem could tell that Mia was getting worse, day after day, and it would only be a matter of time before she took a terrible turn. The glasses wearing male didn't know his roommate that well, but he knew her enough to know that something horrific had happened, to turn her bubbly, friendly personality to one that reflected the melancholy in her heart. It must have been someone close to her, to cause this devastation. The brown haired male sighed as he slipped his keys into the lock on the door of their apartment, and turned them to unlock the door. The male heaved a sigh as he walked through the door and then shut it behind him. It had been quite a long night, he had literally just gotten home. It was morning, now, however, but he had been out all night helping friends and going to his mother's house to help her decorate. Yes, his mother was renovating the house, and Donem was tasked with painting the walls and putting up all of the Fall Out Boy posters in his mother's room. Donem's mother was a huge fan of Fall Out Boy, hence why his nickname was, 'Donnie.' The glasses wearing male always felt it strange how his mother was such a fan of Fall Out Boy, but he wasn't complaining.

The brown haired male was clutching two cups of coffee, one for himself and one for Mia. He had grabbed coffee on his way back from his mother's house, his eyes looking tired and his hair all tousled and ruffled. That, was because he'd fallen quite a few times while painting the walls. He'd fallen off of the ladder. Donem was clumsy, to say the least. Donem adjusted his glasses, and then checked the time before deciding to check on Mia. Mia was his roommate, but it was obvious she was going through a dark time, and he really wanted to help her.

Donem didn't want to seem intruding on her personal life or anything of the sort, so he refrained from asking any questions, but it was starting to get to the point where Donem knew that if he didn't step in, she was going to get worse. Quietly walking to he bedroom, Donem knocked on her bedroom door, "Mia? I apologise if I have woken you up. I want to talk to you. That, and I brought you coffee." He spoke, in his gentle tone of voice. The male had been picking up on how she'd never seemingly leave the apartment unless she had to, she'd sit in silence and just stare off into space. Donem was most definitely concerned about Mia.

((I apologise for the short post, I am rushed ))

  • [thats ok this one may be short as well]

Mia had been trying to drift back off into sleep when there was a knock on her door. She jumped a bit, and let out a small sigh, rubbing at her eyes. She paused, listening to the voice on the other side of her door. It was just Donem, wanting to talk to her. She grew a little worried then - thinking there was something wrong. Had she forgotten to give him money for the bills? No - that made no sense, she'd never missed a payment ever for rent. What else could he be bothering her about? Mia started to panic a bit - oh god, was he kicking her out? Was he getting sick of her moping around and wanted a more lively roommate? Mia shook her head, that would be a stupid reason. Maybe Donem was having his girlfriend move in or something.

Mia never really liked his girlfriend. And it wasn't a weird thing because she liked Donem or anything - obviously as Mia's heart was now guarded - but because something seemed off about her and his relationship. But she never intervened - that wasn't her place. Plus nowadays she wasn't involved at all. Mia eventually got over worrying about what on earth Donem wanted to talk about, and she slowly sat up. "No it's okay, I'm awake. Come in," she used the elastic around her wrist to tie her messy hair up into a bun, and she went and flicked the light by her bed on. Then she sit up and hugged her blanket to her chest. Normally she would have gotten out of bed and opened the door, but this morning she had no energy.

  • Donem made his way into her room when she called back to him,"I wanted to check up on you. How are you doing? I mean, I hope I don't seem like I'm intruding, but you've not been doing to well lately, am I correct in that assumption?" The brown haired male questioned lightly, in a gentle voice. He hoped he hadn't worried her or anything of the sort! Mia just didn't seem like her usual bubbly self, and hadn't been for a while. Donem picked up on things easily, so naturally he was concerned for her. The glasses wearing male passed her a cup of coffee,"I figured you could use a cup of coffee. I don't know if you like coffee or not, though, so I apologise if you don't actually like coffee." The male spoke, giving a gentle shrug of his shoulders and a faint smile.

Donem sighed as his phone beeped. A text message, from Leah. Leah was his girlfriend. Well, girlfriend was used as loosely as possible in this sense. The girl partied most nights, went up with her friends and didn't care about the brown haired male at all. In fact, he honestly wondered why she hooked up with him in the first place. Was it because of his looks? Donem had no idea, and frankly, didn't want to know. She was draining the life out of him, with her controlling texts, never ending arguements and constant excuses and partying. The male had tried to break up with her, but somehow she always talked her way back. He resented how she did this, but he cared about her. Donem hated himself for caring, but it was getting to the point where he was going to give up and outright tell her it was over. The glasses wearing male pulled his phone out of his pocket and switched it off,"I apologise, it's Leah again. She doesn't know when to stop." He spoke, giving a reassuring smile to Mia.

  • Mia looked around her room with a frown. It was a total mess- she hadn't had the energy or the motivation to clean, but if she wasn't inviting Donem into her room the least she could have done was clean up a bit. It was too late now, her roommate had entered and walked over to her with a cup of coffee, asking her how she was doing. Mia gave him a confused look - only because he probably already knew, right? But then she didn't recall ever telling him what had happened, and he didn't know anyone in her life for him to have found out what happened. "I never told you did I?" Mia said out loud, taking the coffee from him gratefully. "Yes, I like coffee. Thank you," she murmured before clearing her throat to explain what was going on. She felt so stupid for not have mentioning it to him. Mia had to admit she was touched he notice and was making an effort to reach out and find out if she was okay. Her friends had already given up -which she figured showed how little friends they actually were. Anywho, she took a sip of the coffee and then was about to explain when his phone went off.

She paused, waiting for him to finish speaking. "It's fine. That girl is poison, Donem. You deserve better," she murmured quietly. It was probably the first time Mia had ever really spoken up about his relationship - but since it was brought up, she commented. "Anyways to answer your first question. I'm not well. I don't know if you ever heard about this but - You remember my boyfriend Kyle right? Well um-" she swallowed, eyes watering at the thought of even speaking the words. Mia hadn't said them out loud since it happened, and now the reality of it all was coming back to her as if it all happened yesterday. "Well, a few months ago he died," she blurted out the words quickly, as if that could make it any easier. "He's gone and I don't -" she slumped, staring at her coffee cup, forcing herself not to cry.

  • Donem gave a ghost of a smile,"Thank you for your concern, Mia. I'm actually thinking about telling her later I'm done with it all. But anyway, enough about me, and yes, I remember Kyle." The brown haired male replied, before seeing the girl's eyes water, and he heard the news that Kyle had died. Donem' eyes widened slightly, before he inhaled,"I am truly sorry to hear that. Please don't be afraid to cry, that's understandable in your situation. You and Kyle were really close, so if you need to talk about anything I'm here for you, alright?" The glasses wearing male spoke to her, genuinely concerned for the girl. Mia was quite obviously, and understandably, having a hard time dealing with the death of her boyfriend. From what Donem remembered, her and Kyle were planning a life together. That only made the pain worse, most likely. Donem knew Kyle treated her correctly, and loved her wholeheartedly. He was a good man, and the brown haired male could tell how much it hurt Mia, even if she didn't openly say it. All this time, Mia was trying to cope with Kyle's passing, explaining why she didn't leave the house and refrained from any social interaction. What surprised Donem the most was the fact that none of her friends had been around to check on her. In fact, that annoyed Donem quite a bit. But he didn't say anything, not right now at least. Donem saw she was forcing herself not to cry, which would only make it worse. The brown haired male wasn't entirely sure what to do. He didn't know how to comfort her. Maybe by just being there for her, it would be enough to help in some way.

  • Mia was surprised to hear he was thinking about telling his girlfriend it was over. She was sure he'd already tried to before, but had stayed with her anyways. "Don't let her guilt trip you. You don't owe her anything," she said, momentarily forgetting about her sadness to give him some advice. She'd been in a pretty toxic relationship before, and it had been hard to break up with the guy but Mia had eventually done it. And after that it took her forever to open up to anyone again - that was until Kyle came around. Now Mia wasn't sure if she ever wanted to let anyone else in again if the only thing the world gave her was bad relationships and heartbreak.

When Donem told her she could cry if she wanted, Mia shook her head. "I've shed enough tears over the past few months - I don't want you to see me at my worst anyways," she took a few deep breaths, something her therapist had told her to help her out of attacks like this. Whilst the medicine and the talking was why she left the therapist, she had learned a few tricks to cope. Mia sipped the coffee as well, staying silent for a while before shrugging. "It was an unexpected death - he had a seizure and no one was around to help him. I really loved him," she reached up to brush some of her messy bed hair out of her face before sighing and wiping at her eyes, taking some more deep breaths. "I don't know what to do without him anymore. I feel empty," losing him had been like losing part of herself and there was a big hole in her chest where her heart was supposed to be. Mia didn't like being sad all the time but she didn't feel like doing anything to be happy, because Kyle wasn't around to share anything with her.

  • Donem gave her a saddened smile,"It's surprisingly much harder than it looks. I'm too soft." He commented, sighing gently. It was true, Donem had tried to break up with Leah on previous occasions, but she's always somehow manage to talk her way back with him, making him feel guilty and low. The dark haired male couldn't break up with her, and it didn't help but he truly loved her, and he hated the fact that he did. He despised himself for letting her do what she did to him, but Donem couldn't help it. Well, no, he was going to help it this time. Later, when Leah came around, he was going to break up with her. He wasn't even going to let her talk her way back, no, he was done. Done with the constant controlling, the jealousy trips, Leah partying every night and getting defensive when he asked simple questions such as,"How was your night?" Or, "Where are you going?"
The brown haired male took a sip of his coffee, before hearing Mia begin to speak. The male adjusted his glasses before glancing at her, watching as she ran a hand through her messy hair, and he listened as she spoke about how she truly felt,"I want you to know that I'm here for you, and I don't care whether you're at your worst or not. If you need anything, I'm here to help. I am deeply sorry to hear about Kyle, he treated you perfectly and it was certainly clear you really did love him. He loved you just as much. I know it hurts, but I cannot say I have felt your pain, because that would be a lie. I've never been through what you're going through, so I can't imagine how it feels, but I can tell that it's not pleasant at all. I can tell it hurts, and I apologise for not being able to help more." Donem said to the girl, as she wiped her eyes. She felt empty, like there was just no point. It was obvious that Mia was in low spirits, and it was completely understandable as to why. She had lost the love of her life, the man she had planned on spending her life with. So of course it was going to hurt.

  • Mia almost laughed as Donem said he was too soft. She couldn't argue with that - he was one of the nicest people she knew. Which was why it was always so hard to believe he was with someone so...not nice. But she was glad to hear he was going to at least try to end things again. That way he could go out and find a better person for him. She didn't reply anymore though on the behalf of his girlfriend - there really wasn't much else to say. Plus, now she was getting all emotional because of his words and she hated the excess feelings. Mia felt a little overwhelmed with it all and she wanted it to stop - and the only way seemed to be letting it all out. It was a mixture of him saying he was there for her if she needed , and him talking about how much Kyle had cared about her that started the tears. Before she knew it she could barely see with the tears pouring out of her eyes, and then there was the shaking as she sobbed. Her friends never ever for one moment said anything like "I'm here if you need me" or trying to sympathize. It was always "I'm so sorry Mia" or "come on let's go do something to get your mind off of it". They hadn't even for a moment thought about her well being. After a few minutes of her crying, she set her coffee on the nightstand and grabbed the tissue box there, blowing her nose with one and then wiping her eyes with another. "I'm sorry," she murmured, voice horse and her nose a little clogged. "Thank you. You're the first person to offer to listen to me - to try and help. Everyone else just wanted me to move on right away and forget," she wiped her eyes with a third tissue. "I don't want to forget," Mia mumbled before laying back down and hugging a pillow. "I have no idea what to do, Donem," it was true. Mia had no idea how to move on or really be herself again.

  • Donem's expression changed as the crystal-like tears started pouring down Mia's cheeks like waterfalls. The brown haired male placed a gentle hand on her back as she cried, and comforted her as best as he could as she wept. After a few minutes, the female had gotten tissues and mopped away the tears. Hearing her apologise made him feel saddened, as there was no need for her to apologise at all! Donem understood how much she really missed Kyle. After all, they were going to spend the rest of their lives together. The male shook his head,"You needn't apologise. And I'm the first? I'm surprised, but I'm glad I can help in some way." He commented, gently before Mia lay down and hugged a pillow, stating how she felt. The glasses wearing male adjusted his glasses before looking to her,"You shouldn't forget him, Mia. And the only thing you can do is remember him and know what he would want you to be. Kyle would want you to be happy, and he'd want you to keep being yourself. It's hard, I know, especially due to the circumstances, but the only thing you can do now is remember. Of course you've changed, but you're strong. You can't give up, okay?" He spoke to her, honestly concerned for Mia. "And those people that expect you to move on and forget just like that? They aren't worth your time, because they obviously don't understand nor care for your wellbeing. Take as much time as you need to recover."

  • Mia curled herself up in a ball, hugging the pillow and closing her eyes. She stayed completely quiet as he took in her words and then spoke to her again - giving her practically a speech. She didn't like him talking for Kyle - about what he would want. Because he was dead and he couldn't want anything. Mia knew, though, truly that Kyle would be disappointed to see her like this and would most likely crack a joke about how lazy she was. Mia laugh-cried at that thought for a moment, but then quieted remembering Donem was right there, talking to her. He said something about her not giving up - and that she could take as much time as she needed to recover. But it had been eight months - and eight months she'd sat and done absolutely nothing with her life. And she wasn't happy. Mia realized she missed being happy. She opened her eyes, staring over at the wall for a few moments before reaching up to wipe at her eyes and let out a sigh. "Would you mind stepping out for a bit? I want to get dressed and cleaned up," she shifted to sit back up again. "There's somewhere I'd like to go," Mia wrapped her arms around herself, staring at the blankets on her bed. "You can come with me if you'd like," she added. She didn't want to flat out ask him to join her, but Mia didn't want to go where she wanted to alone, and Donem seemed like the only person willing to help her out.

  • The dark haired male watched her, she seemed to be listening. He nodded once she questioned him,"I'll come with you, if you don't mind of course." Donem spoke politely, before getting up and picking up his phone from beside him on the floor before leaving her room to let her get dressed and cleaned up. The glasses-wearing male hoped that he had helped somehow, but something was giving him the feeling that he only made her feel worse. Maybe that was his anxiety kicking in. Donem worried overly about everything. It didn't exactly make him feel any better about the situation, but what could he do? The dark haired male just got on with it and was getting along relatively okay.

Mia, on the other hand, was quite obviously not doing okay at all. For eight months she'd done nothing with her life. Devoid of happiness and her mind had seemingly become a dark place. Everytime Donem thought about how she used to be, and compared it to who she was now, it hurt. Even though he'd barely knew her. But even so, she'd brighten up any room she went into, laugh and make even the saddest people smile. Now that she had become one of those saddened people, Donem wasn't sure if he could somehow find a way to help her find happiness again. What could he do? They didn't even know each other well enough to call each other friends!

Donem sighed as he turned his phone on and found that he had ten text messages and three missed called from Leah. The brown haired male breathed yet another sigh as he leaned against the wall, before reading the text messages.

Leah: Bby can I come over soon??

    Leah: ??

    Leah: Donnie y aren't u answering??

    Leah: U better answer.

    Leah: Fine. Be like that.

Leah: Do u not love me or something??

    Leah: U @sshole.

    Leah: I'm coming over now.

Leah: U better still be in that apartment of urs.

    Leah: F*ck u.

Not to mention the three missed calls. Donem pulled up a hand and ran it through his hair, as he slid down the wall and sat on the floor. When Leah got over here, he had a feeling it wasn't going to go well for him. Screwing his eyes shut, the male took deep breaths trying to calm himself down, because he knew what was going to happen. He could just hear her shrill voice already, accusing him of cheating, screaming at him, playing the victim. Then when he said he was done, he could already tell what she'd do. She'd saunter up close, sweetly smile and wrap her arms around him, pleading him and kissing him tenderly. The thought made him sick.

  • Mia gave him a nod. "Please. I think I'll need the moral support," she said and once he exited her room she crawled out of bed, and started picking things off the floor. Anything dirty she put in he hamper, and anything clean she put on her bed to hang up or fold to be put in her dresser for later. Mia took sips of the coffee Donem got for her - trying to finish it before it got cold. She reminded herself to ask him what coffee shop he stopped by so that she could go there in the future. Once she cleaned up her floor she grabbed her hair brush from her vanity and started running that though her hair, getting all the knots from sleep out. She had showered last night before going to bed so Mia figured she didn't have to again that morning. She put up her hair and pulled on a pair of jeans, a tshirt, and a light jacket before digging in the closet for her favorite pair of boots. She didn't bother with make up that day, and she didn't need it since she hated the way it felt on her skin. Plus she didn't have any acne to cover up anyways.
Mia didn't know why she was doing this - deciding to go out today, and to the place she had in mind. But Donem's words made her realize how bad she had been. If someone she barely knew was concerned about her wellbeing - she knew she looked bad. So if she was going to start working towards something - she had to start with moving on. That was Mia's plan and if she could get through that today, be strong enough - then maybe she could make an effort Day to day.
Eventually she found the shoes and slipped those on, then grabbed her phone and purse, stepping out of her room only to find Donem out there, sitting against the wall, looking all stressed out. She frowned, hoping this wasn't her doing. "Donem?" she asked quietly, nudging him with her boot. "Is everything okay?" she had no idea what could have made him so stressed out.
