  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]This thread takes place on Planet Helion; a Planet almost akin to Earth. The Natives of this Planet, called Heli by outsiders, resemble the "Harpies" from mythology. Their bodies are almost completely covered in feathers of all colors, two magnificent wings sprout from behind their shoulder blades, they have bird-like legs and feet, etc. Not much is known about these creatures, so a team of space travelers has been sent out to observe these individuals and, hopefully, make friends with them. (Muse A) is a Heli male called Caelus Calpurnis, and belongs to the "Tribe of the North". Caelus has been an adventurous individual ever since he hatched, and this trait gets him in trouble often. When he was only a few years old, he managed to anger one of the most dangerous creatures on their planet, a Bofil. These murderous beasts resemble large foxes with long, white fur and four beady eyes. The scariest part about them is their mouth, which splits three ways! They are heartless creatures, and Caelus knows that. (Muse B/You) is a member of the research vessel "Abbidon", which is scheduled to land on Helion in a few hours. However, before they can safely land on the surface, a large avian creature attacks their ship mid-flight! Tearing the vessel apart piece by piece, the beast scatters the crew, (Muse B) included. (Muse B) finds themselves in a dense jungle-like biome which is teeming with life. However, not all life in this jungle is friendly.

We'll be starting off just before the ship is torn apart. Caelus will find your character while exploring the jungle in search of anything interesting.

Not trying to be pushy or anything, I just want to fill in Caelus' sexuality. '030

If you were wondering what gender I was doing, I'm playing a male. His form is up there. If you meant what gender I want you to play, it doesn't matter to me.

  • Their ship had just crashed. Andrew forced himself up out of the destroyed ship. He looked around looking for signs of his crew mates, but they were nowhere in sight. He was lucky to get out with only scratches, but they were all over his body and it seemed the one on his arm was deep. He held it while rummaging through the mess. He didn't find anything of use. His communicator was in shabbles, so he couldn't call his crew. He walked around in circles thinking of ideas. He couldn't come up with one. He felt scared. The smell of his blood would certainly attract an unwanted guest. He frowned. He must keep moving and so he did.
He began to go deeper in the forest he crashed in. On an unknown planet, where there could be things even his gun had no effect on. His fear grew as he wondered. He felt a bit safer have a gun and a small hunting knife on him, but his fear overcame that feeling of security. As he walked, sounds of chrips and sqeaks, sometimes howls and roars could be heard. He looked around catiously, and was he foots steps starting to sound loud or was that just him? He gripped his gun tighter.

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]He knew leaving his tribe's territory could spell out his death, but this young Heli has done it countless times before. The warm Helion winds ruffled his crisp white feathers as he quickly glided through the sky, and with a short bout of joyful laughter, he hugged his wings to his body and dove towards the churning waves below. Before they could capture him in their briny embrace, he threw open the large feathered appendages and glided safely over the water, the tips of his feathers skimming the surface. After a few short moments of leisurely gliding just above the waves, the Heli caught sight of a few small spires. A large grin spread across his face as he veered off in their direction, closing in on them fast. Quickening his pace further, he spiraled through the large holes bored into the tall structures, then soared higher into the sky. His white form was engulfed in the thick, pinkish layer of clouds above. A sense of security washed over him when he completely disappeared into their embrace; getting caught by a patrol of enemy Heli would be his doom. Among the clouds, he'd be hidden.

He had been soaring through the clouds for a few hours, but after a moment or two he suddenly dived out of the misty cover and into the open. Large spires were laid out before him, and dense jungles covered their surface. A satisfied smile graced his features when his eyes fell upon the sight; this was what he was looking for. The young Heli frequently visited the jungles in search of anything interesting, since his barren home lacked anything fun. With a chirp of happiness he dove into the nearest patch of vegetation, fluttered his wings, and landed gracefully. Folding his wings against his back the Heli made his way through the plant life, making sure not to make too much noise. Bofil were known to stalk these jungles, and their favorite prey was Heli. He shuddered at the thought. Glancing around, his eyes radiated with a weary aura. Brushing some of his crisp white hair out of his field of view, he noticed something that made his heart freeze. There, before him, was a Bofil female. The females were the most aggressive of them all, and the largest. Quickly and quietly, he fluttered up and perched on the tree, observing her from a safe distance. Her back faced him and she was crouched, clearly stalking something. Following her gaze, he caught sight of something...strange.

She was stalking an individual; he never seen anything like that before. No feathers or anything. No wings either. Peculiar.

  • Andrew slowly treated the unknown landscape. The plant life under his boot made a crunching noise as he walked on top of it. The sights were overwhelming. Many of these creatures he's seen here were small and curious looking. He did not want to know what the top of the food chain looked like. He ws completely unaware that one of them was stocking him. At this point the blood on his arm drenched the hand covering it, some of it even hitting the ground, leaving a trail of crimson liquid behind him. The smell of the forest was soothing and nice, and it helped keep Andrew a bit calmer.

He felt completely isolated. His crew mates were at least hundreds if not thousands of miles away from him. At this point he longed to hear another's voice to reassure him everything was going to be ok. This got him thinking about possible other intelligent creatures out here. The though brought him both hope and fear. He hope that they were friendly and would help him, but feared that one would try to kill him on sight. He thought about if there was one, what would they look it? Probably as weird as the creatures he's seem. They would probably be bipedal as well.

His daydreaming stopped when he heard shaking in the bushes. He slowly turned his head. His heart was racing. He saw it. This freaky Fox thing with four eyes, and it's mouth, oh God that mouth. He screamed as he leaped at him. He quickly shot the thing, casing it to stubble, then it attacked again. He aim and shot it multiple times.

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]The Heli chirped in surprise when the creature screamed as the Bofil leaped at it, and with a startled screech he narrowly avoided a few stray shots which whizzed past his position. With an irritated hiss the young Heli let go of the branch and flew at the beast; his long, hooked talons clawed at its hide as he searched for a hold. This caused the beast to emit a shrill scream of pain as she tried to grab the avian in her jaws, but he already found a grip on its long, white hide. A series of alarmed screeches escaped his throat as he dug his clawed hands and feet further into her hide, drawing blood. While she flung herself around in an attempt to get him off he reached for his knife, which was attached to his side. Tugging it out of its sheath the Heli stabbed her in the back, wrenching a high-pitched shrill of pain from her muzzle. The Bofil managed to throw him off before making her escape, and disappeared into the dense underbrush. She'd be back, but not for awhile.

His chest heaved for breath as he stood there; his wings were fully extended in a threatening manner. His back was towards the individual, but after a few moments he lowered one wing, gazing at them from behind it. Slowly, he folded his wings against his back and turned to face the individual, his white arms stained red from the Bofil's blood. Breathing heavily, he tilted his head to the side as he slowly approached the creature, sheathing his blood-drenched knife. After a few moments of silence, he pointed in the direction the Bofil female disappeared to, and spoke. "Bofil," he chirped, pointing in the direction once again.

//I'm going to reduce his height to 6' 10", since it seems more realistic to me.

  • Yeah, it definitely does.

Andrew's eyes widened once he something swoop in from amongst the vegetation. It was a weird bird like creature. The best he could describe it is that it looks like a Harpie from Greek mythology. He watched in horror as it's gigantic, sharp talons dug into the attacking creature. He thought about the damage that could be done to him with those claws. He shut his eyes as he heard the beast scream. It was unlike anything he had ever heard. He felt like he was going to through up. He watched as the bird-like creature took out a knife and stabbed the beast. This bird thing must have been this world's "intelligent" creature. The monster made its escape. Andrew hoped it would be back for awhile

Even after the beast was gone his fear stayed. The bird-man was still here and was just as intimidating as the last creature, it was tall, it's talons look like they would easily break bone, and ir was smart. He was surprised when it spoke, "B-Bofil? What...?" Since the Bird-man was pointing in the direction of that beast, it was clear the Andrew it as referring to the monster, "I-is that what that thing is?" His voice was shaky. Fear and confusion were blatantly showed on the human's face. He wondered if the harpie-like creature could understand him.

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]The avian humanoid stared at the individual for a long time, remaining completely still. Then, after a few moments, he tilted his head off to the side in confusion. The Heli were a secluded species, and interstellar travel was a rare occurrence among them. Despite being capable of soaring among the stars, the majority of life had no idea they existed. This derives from the fact that those who do travel don't do it for social purposes, they focus on research mainly. However, despite this, some Heli decided to study different languages. Luckily for him, he had a close relationship with one of the researchers of his tribe, which studied different languages. It only took a few moments for him to recognize the language he was speaking, and he quickly picked up on it. "Y-Yes...that is a Bofil," he chirped, fluttering his wings subtly. "Nasty creatures, especially the females," he hissed in disgust, shaking his head. Then, he looked back up at the individual. "I am Caelus, Caelus Calpurnis, and come from the Tribe of the North", he hummed, gesturing to himself. Then, he pointed at the individual before him, tilting his head once again. "Who are you, and what is your business on Helion?" Caelus gestured to the vegetation around him, blinking his bright yellow eyes. "This planet is dangerous, and no place for tourists."

    • "Yeah, I got that." He said, taking a brief pause to look around then began to speak again, "Caelus huh" He mumbled, "I'm Andrew Hernandez. I come from Earth. Me and my crew came here for research and our ship as attacked and torn to bits. The injuries I obtained are liveable, but I'm not sure about my crew. My communicator broke so I have no way to talk to them." His voice drifted off. He began to feel worried about them. He hoped they were all ok and were just as lucky as he was. He felt like He might cry. He couldn't bare the though of losing any of his crew mates. They had spent so much time together. Caelus said he was from the north. His color scheme certainly fit that. The white was a harsh contrast to the surroundings. He found the feathers elegant, this is one of the reasons why he like birds, their brightly colored feathers never bore, even the more dull colors looked graceful Though, the blood on the bird-man ruined the unity of the color.

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]Caelus visibly froze up when the Earthling mentioned his crew; there were more of them on this planet. He couldn't bare to tell him their chances of survival, and he looked depressed enough already. However, before he could utter another word, a loud screech resonated through the air. This caused the Heli to tense up, and his eyes focused on the air. Loud wing-beats could be heard, and the wind shook the trees around them. Almost instinctively the Heli grabbed Andrew's arm and tugged him into the shadows cast by a large tree, providing cover for both of them.

Almost as if on cue, a large avian beast planted its talons on the ground and poked its head through the thick layer of trees, gazing around in search of prey. Like the Bofil, this creature had multiple eyes, but instead of a mouth that split three ways, its beak contained several rows of teeth. The avian creature gazed around for a few more seconds before leaping back up into the air, flying off.

Caelus visibly relaxed when the threat had left, and letting go of Andrew's wrist, he exited the shadowy cover. "Entiran," he muttered quietly, then pointed up at the sky. "She's the one that took down your ship, they're known for that."

  • Andrew froze once he saw the gigantic bird. It sharp teeth looked like it could rip him apart with no problem at all.He felt the the strong grip of the other as he was pulled into cover. He watched in fear as thing began to poke around the vegetation of the forest. Once it was gone, Andrew felt a wave of relief. He felt him get angry once he heard that this thing probably attacked his ship and caused him and his crew to separate.
He managed to suppress his rage. He changed the subject as he stepped out, "so, you say your from the north? What are you doing here?" He was curious why a creature designed for snow was on the the lush jungle and could easily get picked out.
    Rushed!

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]Late reply, my apologies. ;-;

Caelus' expression almost immediately snapped from an almost cheerful look to surprise, and widening his intense yellow eyes he laughed nervously and smiled awkwardly, like the question caught him off guard. "U-Umm...well..." he stammered, running the back of his head slowly. "I like to wander; the desolate landscape that is my home isn't interesting enough for me," he chirped, fluttering his wings subtly. "Besides, a bit of danger is fun, for me anyways!" he laughed in a childish manner, even when he practically described the life-or-death situation he was in. Before he could utter another word, though, a series of chirps resonated through the air. This caused the Heli to snap his gaze to the sky, where three dark forms flew overhead. His breath hitched in his throat when he seen them; these were Heli from the "Tribe of the West", which was notorious for their merciless nature. Redirecting his gaze back to Andrew the Heli extended his wings, flexing them occasionally. "We have...company..." he hissed, gesturing to the sky above.

Grabbing the Earthling's forearm again, the avian began to beat his wings, causing him to start fluttering in the air. "We need to go...now," he hissed quietly, starting to gain more and more height with each flap of his wings.

  • Andrew could understand where Caelus was coming from. Tundras were nothing but snow and the occasional sign of life, but in the forest, it was teeming with life and places to explore. Andrew loved to explore, that why he became an astronaut. But, in this situation, with no crew to watch his back, it was straight up terrifying. There was all sorts of things that wanted to kill and eat him. He would have been dead if it wasn't Caelus.

looked up at the figures flying over head. Seeing the bird-man's expression he knew that didn't meant trouble. Probably more hostiles. He looked in surprise as the other grabbed him and began shoving over the ground. Nervousness set in as they got further and further off the ground. He tried his best not to move around; he didn't want to be dropped. He got thinking about how far Caelus could take him before he got to tired and had to stop.

    -it's all good.

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]Caelus' grip on his forearms was like a vice, and was probably painful due to the talons attached to his hands. However, Andrew could probably feel the uneasiness in his hold; the Heli had never carried someone while flying before. Hissing in irritation the avian added more force to each flap, causing some of his feathers to land gracefully upon the vegetation. A nervous expression was upon his face as he emerged from the leafy cover, and he wearily glanced around. The patrol left, but they'd be back. With a quiet sigh of relief, the Heli looked down at Andrew with a sheepish smile upon his face.

"Do you think you can handle a little bit of cold?" He chuckled, but the cheerful aura was replaced with uneasiness.

  • Andrew tensed at the feeling of the other's talons digging into his wrist. This added more pain to the already damaged arm. He closed his eyes because of both the height and sensation. He could feel himself dangling and the feeling made him scared. What if he was dropped? He could probably die. There must have been a better way to hold him, but Andrew didn't want to sound ungreatful so he didn't speak up.

Once Andrew heard the question he frowned. He wasn't a fan of the cold, and his clothes weren't meant for it. Though he wasn't a fan, he would prefer extreme cold over heat, "yeah" He spoke, eyes still shut.

  • [fancypost=background-color:transparent; border-width: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]Caelus hummed in reply, glanced up for a brief moment, and pursed his lips. Holding him like this would result in Andrew slipping and falling to his doom, so he'd need to figure out another way. After a few moments the Heli decided to hook his arms under the Earthling's shoulders, and awkwardly adjusting his grip mid-flight the avian chuckled nervously before flying off into the distance. He would occasionally glance down at Andrew to make sure he was alright; flying through the air could trigger sickness, he knew that all too well. He had to teach his younger sister how to fly when she was young. Caelus zoned out for quite awhile, since he never thought about her after the incident. Since he was so preoccupied in his thoughts, a sudden loud screech wrenched an alarmed shrill from his lips as he was forced back to reality, and looking around hastily, he caught sight of the creature. His pounding heart calmed down when he realized it wasn't another Heli, and he simply growled at the creature. It was a Lazda, a scavenging avian notorious for harassing Heli who were carrying things. The creature squaked back at Caelus, and with an irritated hiss, the Heli kicked the bird away. He cursed at the creature in his own language, delivered another swift kick to the head, and managed to drive it off. He tsked in annoyance when it left.

  • Andrew was thankful that he changed the way he was holding him. His eyes were still closed the thought of begin high above the air, not in a plane, not sitting comfortably in an enclosed space, but being carried freaked him out. Closing his eyes helped him. He quickly opened his eyes as soon as he heard a screech. There was another bird like animal coming their way, but was quickly dealt with. He found it odd that their was so many feathered creatures.
"Hey, um, thanks for saving me back there" He stuttered. Caelus had saved his life at least 3 times in the past few hours and was grateful for that. He was a lot nicer than most people back on earth or any alien at that matter.
