  • {Disclaimer: I'm still trying to figure out the new layout of the site, so there will be no fancypost for a while. That said, don't let the plainness of the thread turn you away. I'm a very advanced writer and I want to write with others who feel the same way.}

Background: Charlotte McAnthony, or Charlie, is a 19 year old Freshman in college. She comes from a small town in the middle of no where, Arkansas. As soon as the opportunity arose, she got out of the state and took a scholarship offer from a college in Colorado. It wasn't easy to leave home, but her decision was made slightly easier when she learned two of her best and oldest friends would be moving across the country to go to school with her.

Of the two friends, she's known Mason longer by a good few years. The two were fast friends when their fathers started working together. They seemed to have a lot in common - their preference for hot chocolate over coffee, their hatred of pie, their ridiculous attraction to dogs, and possibly most important was their passion for photography. As the years progressed, Charlie started to fall in love with her childhood best friend and when she learns they'll be attending college together, it seems like all the pieces are falling into place. Things are finally looking up.

Then, without warning, Mason seems to fall hard for another girl. Charlotte Rickman. Charlie instantly feels betrayed but keeps her feelings to herself to keep from ruining her friendship, but as her best friend tries to pursue a relationship with the other Charlotte, their bond starts taking some serious damage. Always good at hiding her emotions, though, Charlie keeps her pain bottled up, acting normal around her two friends, despite the cyclone of emotions inside.

Plot: Still trying to salvage her friendship with Mason and Ross, Charlie agrees to go on a trip with them over the weekend to take some pictures in the downtown area of a big city about an hour away from the college. When she arrives, she learns that the other Charlotte will be joining them as well and proceeds to curse her luck as both boys fawn over the girl like a goddess. Once they arrive in the city, Charlie effectively fades out of the picture, watching miserably as the other three have fun.

At one point, after about an hour of taking photos, it starts to get a little dark. Charlie stops to take a picture of an old building and when she looks up, she realizes her friends have all wandered off, leaving her alone in the shady downtown area. When she goes to check her phone, she finds that it's dead and she has no idea how to contact the boys. Deciding to walk for a bit to try her luck, she finds herself in a dead end alleyway. Before she can backtrack, she finds herself cornered by a couple of guys who proceed to try and rough her up.

This is when Y/C comes in, dark and heroic. He scares them off and helps Charlie out. They talk for a few moments before Mason and the others come around the corner and assume the worst. Before a fight can ensue, Charlie irritably explains what happened. The boys don't like it, especially Mason, but Y/C asks for Charlie's number and she obliges.

A week or so later, Y/C shows up in the small college town where Charlie's from and convinces her to come out and get dinner with him. They have a great time and get to know each other. When they go for coffee on campus, however, they run into Mason and Charlotte and Charlie gets up and storms out. Y/C follows her out and figures out what's going on. He offers to help her make Mason jealous and Charlie hesitantly agrees.

Over the next few weeks, Charlie succeeds in making Mason jealous, or at least uncomfortable, but while she's distracted, Y/C is falling for her. One night, when they're hanging out and chilling, Y/C goes off about something, leaving Charlie confused and feeling feelings she hadn't felt before. Soon enough, she realizes that Y/C is the one she's actually in love with. At that point, will it be too late to salvage yet another relationship?

    {Disclaimer: I don't want this to be a really fast story. I want there to be some actual foundation and development between the characters. I'll play Charlie and Mason. I really would like for this to be an advanced and solid thread and moving too quickly won't do that.}

  • Ruslan Woodrow 'Rus' Ford

    20 years old

Personality: Rus isn't exactly the best person when it actually comes to meeting new people or being in social situations. He would rather stand in the back by himself and let everybody else talk to each other. That doesn't mean that he isn't willing to try and make some new friends. However, if approaching him you should approach him in a careful manner and not be too loud or too much for him. If you do act like this you'll most likely scare him away. Rus isn't exactly trying to shut himself away from any type of social interaction, however. He's a friendly and sweet guy who would protect you with his life if it was needed. Along with that, he's a very intelligent individual who can cause you to think deeply about the meanings of many things. He isn't afraid to cuss you out either so just try to be careful choosing your words around him. Arguing will only get you into more trouble and he'll go on for days and days. So, it's better to just give it up.

    Other Facts
    - He's a pretty tall guy and stands at 6'5
    - Isn't the most physical type of person but that doesn't mean he can't beat you up.

    - Pretty much seen as an awkward mess of a guy by most people.
    - Will do anything to make you happy.
    - Hasn't seen his family in quite a while and has cut off all contact with them.
    - Music Performance major
    - Can play the drums, piano, acoustic and electric guitar, and the ukulele.

    Faceclaim: Bo Burnham

Awesome sauce :) We shall start in the big city ^_^

    Rus looks awesome, btw ~

ALSO, sorry if I ever seem pushy in bumping the thread. I've got a lot going on with college and I just really want to write this, so yeah. ^_^

And one more thing, not all of my posts will be this long and jumbled, this is just the way it is because it's the first post, so bear with me :)

    IC:
This day had not gone the way Charlotte had hoped. When the boys had texted her and invited her to the city to take pictures, she'd been over the moon. It was supposed to be just her and the guys, just like old times... But then he invited her. Mason invited the other Charlotte and everything came crashing down in a glorious storm. Everything Charlie thought she knew was slowly fading into nothing more than wishful thinking.

And then they'd ditched her. As if inviting a girl with the same name hadn't been bad enough, Charlie had been shoved to the back of everyone's mind with little more than a second thought and she wasn't going to lie, it hurt. A lot. She couldn't even enjoy her favorite thing in the world: photography. It was like... she couldn't stand still long enough to actually get a good shot without risking the group leaving her. She was mad at them, but she didn't want to get left in the city by herself.

Of course, that was exactly what happened. Charlie finally got fed up and decided she was going to get some good shots. Something good had to come out of this trip or she'd pull her pretty red hair out. Stopping to take pictures proved to be a great stress reliever, as she'd hoped, but when she looked up, the others were gone. That was it? Really?

Letting her camera hang loosely around her neck, the 19 year old irritably pulled her phone from her pocket, ready to call Ross and tell him off for letting them wander off with out her, only to find her phone completely dead. "Perfect," she huffed, shoving it back in her pocket. Taking a deep breath, she looked around. Before they'd wandered off, they'd all been in one of the in between areas. They could have literally gone anywhere.

Frustrated as all heck, Charlie decided to start walking and hope she ran into them. As she walked, she thought of all the rude things she would say to her so-called friends when she found them, knowing good and well that she would never say any of the things that popped into her brain. Somewhere along the way, she decided to go through some of her photos for therapy. In doing this, she took a wrong turn and before she realized it, she was walking down a dead end.

When she heard the voices, she knew she was in trouble. She dropped the camera and it bounced softly off her chest before hanging loosely around her neck again, still on a picture of her and Mason. Looking back the way she'd come, she saw a couple of men walking towards her, talking to each other and laughing. She suddenly became very aware that she had no where to go.

"Whoa! What do we have here?" One of the guys said, noticing her. Charlie stood frozen, trying not to show the utter discomfort she felt. She was slightly aware of her current appearance and felt even more nervous. In an unconscious attempt impress Mason, she'd wore cut off jean shorts and a dark, over sized hipster-esque flannel. She had long thin legs and she was a relatively pretty girl. This was not a situation she wanted to be in.

"She looks scared, Jack," the shorter of the two men said, amusement dripping off his words like poison. She took a quick step back as the other guy took a step towards her. Her back hit the wall and the air was knocked out of her. Charlotte stared at them defiantly, ready to fight if she had to.

"Give me this," the man, who I could only assume was Jack, snapped, grabbing Charlie's camera and yanking her closer to him. She let out a yelp and shoved his chest, forcing him back a step. He laughed before grabbing her arm. "Nice try, kid." His grip tightened around her arm, his fingers digging into her skin painfully. Without thinking, Charlotte screamed for help before being shoved roughly against the wall again, hitting her head hard enough to make stars appear.

  • WHAT IF GOD DOES NOT BELIEVE IN YOU?

    (That's perfectly alright!)

He didn't exactly know what time it was when he had stepped out to take in some fresh air. However, he did know that it was getting late and he really needed to get home. But, it wouldn't hurt to stay out for a few more minutes, wouldn't it? This was how most of his weekends had always gone. Unlike other people who had plans to hang out with his friends, Rus ended up finding himself out in the middle of the city to take a walk around. If he knew that he was going to stay out so late he would have worn something besides a simple pullover hoodie and jeans. With a sniff he took a turn around a corner and looked around the place. It was pretty empty and there were only a few lights. Man, what a safe feeling this place let off. As his shoes connected with the sidewalk they let out a small rhythm that echoed and bounced off of nearby buildings. Ruslan looked up at an old abandoned building and stopped to looked it up and down. It kind of saddened him to see it in such a way but there was nothing he could do about it. With a shrug he continued on down the sidewalk, the rhythm of his footsteps continuing on.

Rus quietly whistled to himself, shoving his hands further into his pockets and pulling his hood further up onto his head. He found himself slowing down and his whistling coming to a halt as he was sure he had heard a cry for help. With a small blink of confusion his brain started to process what he just heard and he realized that it was exactly just that. Without any hesitation he sped up his pace towards where he had heard the stranger's voice. Whoever it was definitely sounded in big trouble. As he neared an alleyway he could hear the sound of some stuff going on in it and he quietly hid behind the wall, peeking over the corner to see two men and one woman. He took his head back and laid it against the wall, taking in a deep breath. Maybe he could just calm the cops or maybe he could just let it happen. No, he couldn't do that. The cops would take to long and he wasn't going to be a prick and leave this innocent girl to get killed. He exhaled the breath he took in and stood up as straight as could to make sure that he could display his full height. With some regret he revealed himself in the entrance of the alleyway and took small steps towards the men.

"What exactly do you two think you're doing? Trying to hurt a poor girl, huh?" Ruslan took more steps towards them trying to hide the fact that he was absolutely afraid of the two men. He narrowed his eyes at the two and felt his whole entire body tense up. "How about you leave before I make you feel exactly how it's like to be beat up." His hands curled up into fists as he got himself ready for a fight.

  • It took a moment for Charlie to recuperate once the man released his steel grip on her arm. She brought her hand up and put it over the place his fingers had dug into her skin and stood rigid behind him, her back still pressed against the wall. She felt her entire body shaking. Her red hair hung down in front of her pale face, hiding one of her green eyes.

When the man had shouted from down the alley, it had spooked the two muggers, but when they saw him, the taller of the two laughed. "Get out of here, punk. Mommy's probably looking for you." They continued to laugh, not threatened or impressed by the boy's appearance. Charlie was also a bit unsure that this guy could hold his own, but she still stared at him, her eyes full of fear and silent pleading.

"You know what, Mikey? I think this kid is serious. The real deal," the taller man, Jack said, rolling his fist into his palm and cracking his knuckles. He took a few steps away from Charlie, approaching the new kid threateningly. "I'm thinking we should teach this one some manners." Glancing back over his shoulder, he sneered at the redhead. "See what you did, Red? If you hadn't screamed I wouldn't have to beat this kid's face in. It would've just been so much easier if you'd kept that pretty little mouth shut."

Charlie's skin flushed with horror, her eyes wide as she watched him turn back at lunge at the boy. "No!" she yelled, stepping off the wall, fear and guilt gripping her heart. She thought it was going to be two against one, but the shorter man stood back, ready to grab her if she tried to run. Still, she could see it in the stranger's eyes that he was afraid.

  • WHAT IF GOD DOES NOT BELIEVE IN YOU?

Rus felt like a complete idiot and instantly regretted his decision to intervene. However, he knew that it would all pay off even if he had no idea who this girl was. Before he could even say anything else or make a single move one of the men had lunged towards him. It had caught him a little bit off guard but his brain quickly processed the situation. Everything seemed to go in slow motion as Ruslan tried to figure out what exactly he had to defend himself. All he had in his pockets was his phone, loose change and some loose change. There was nothing but his own bare hands and he wasn't so sure that he'd be able to use them. It didn't matter if he couldn't defend himself or not. Without thinking he lunged at the older man as well, hands extended and reaching out towards his throat. Rus wasn't one to get into fights but he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty if he had to. This was stupid, this was absolutely stupid. Well, at least if he died he would die knowing he tried to be heroic.

The young man wasn't exactly sure what he was doing but he quickly wrapped both his hands around the older man's neck. Every muscle in his body tensed up even more as his grip tightened. He didn't care about this man's life all too much. All he knew was that they needed to be taught a lesson and he was gonna make sure that lesson was gonna be taught. Rus continued to tighten his grip even more. He could feel himself biting down so hard that he thought his teeth could shatter. The boy's breathing rapidly increased as he made sure not to lose his grip. If he messed up even once that meant that both him and the girl would be dead. Now he really regretted everything. Just had to be the hero, didn't you?

As he continued trying to choke the attacker his head continued racing with thoughts. He could hear a voice telling him how stupid he was over and over again. Ruslan tried his best to ignore the voice and focus his attention on the task that was at hand. There was nobody else out here and if he got beat up it would take forever for help to arrive. This was how he was gonna die, wasn't he? The discouraging thoughts and voices continued to overwhelm him but he quickly shooed them away.

  • Charlie watched in horror as the scene unfolded before her. She hadn't expected the stranger to dodge the man's swing, let alone, grab his throat before he could react. When the larger man started choking, her eyes widened. She almost couldn't tear her eyes away. That is, until the other guy, Mikey, started moving to help his friend. In a heartbeat, Charlotte had extended her foot to the back of the man's knee, bringing him down hard.

A moment later, and it was obvious the two were ready to run. "Dude, let him go! You're going to kill him! We'll go! We'll go!" These guys had stepped in deeper than they'd been expecting. "You've made your point, dude! Come on!" Charlie watched, her head throbbing and her heart slamming against her chest.

Jack, the other thug, managed to slip out of the stranger's grip and the two men took off running down the alleyway, disappearing on the street. As soon as they were gone, Charlie slid down the wall until she sat on her knees, shaking all over. Her camera hung still against her chest, rising and falling as rapidly as she breathed. She ran a hand through her hair to move it out of her face before wincing at the soreness of the back where she'd hit the wall. She pulled it back, relieved to find no blood on her thin, pale fingers. With a shaky breath, she looked up at the stranger that still stood before her, looking plenty scared, himself. "Thank you..." she said quietly, her voice shaking violently. "If you hadn't showed up... I..." she closed her eyes and tried to hold back the tears that threatened to break the surface.

  • MAYBE GOD DOES NOT BELIEVE IN YOU?

While his breathing returned to a normal pace, Rus watched as the two men fled the scene. He looked down at his feet and took in a deep breath, pushing his hood off of his head. The young man was quite surprised that he wasn't shot, stabbed, or both. He was, however, glad to know that the stranger he was trying to save was safe. When he looked up he could see how scared she was and a look of worry quickly made its way onto his face. Ruslan took careful steps towards her and knelt down in front of her. He himself was still a bit shaken up but he knew she was just as scared as he was. "What's important is that you're safe." A friendly smile appeared on his face as he tried his best to try and calm her down.

"Man, you see their faces when they ran off? They probably didn't think some skinny kid do that, huh?" He tried his best to see if he could lighten up to the mood a little bit. "My name's Ruslan, by the way. A lot of people just call me, Rus." All he needed to do was try and forget everything that happened. He was trying really hard to keep himself calm. If he thought about it anymore he would continue to run his mouth and he didn't exactly want to do that. What he now noticed that he didn't earlier was that she was alone. Why was she alone? He looked at the camera that she had and quickly came to the conclusion that she was probably taking pictures of things.

Rus could tell that she was trying her best to hold back tears and he was trying his best to make sure she didn't cry. He, however, still couldn't get over the fact that he could have killed somebody. The young man had lost himself in the moment when he had that man's throat in his hands. Well, it was time for him to get over it and that was exactly what he was going to do.

    fangs °

  • Charlie put on a brave face as the boy approached her, despite the fact that she was visibly shaking from head to toe. She could hear her heart beating rapidly inside her skull, pain detonating every time she blinked. Her arm ached as well from where the man had grabbed her and she was certain there would be a nasty bruise there later. "I'm Charlotte..." she said after he introduced himself. "My friends call me-"

"Charlie!" Instantly the young redhead's skin tingled as the familiar voice yelled her name, his British accent bouncing off the walls. Before she could say anything in return, Rus had been shoved out of the way and she stared in horror as Mason stood ready to fight the stranger who'd just saved her life.

"Mason! Ross!" Charlie cried out, flinching at the shock of pain that stabbed her brain. "Stop it! He saved me!" This brought about a bit of a stun over the group. Mason glared at Rus, distrust glowing in his green eyes. Ross looked on edge, ready to throw a punch if he needed to.

"Where the heck did you go, Charlie?" Mason asked in frustration, turning on Charlotte halfway. He still kept an eye on Rus. "We've been trying to call you for fifteen minutes!" Something in Charlie twisted and her jaw dropped a bit. Was he seriously blaming her for this?!

"My phone died," she replied shortly, her temper flaring. "And you wouldn't have had to have been looking for me if you hadn't left me in the first place!" A look of shock came over his face and Charlie shook her head. "While you three were off having a good old time, Ruslan, here, was saving my life. So if you would kindly refrain from acting like animals and leave him alone." She glared pointedly at Ross who raised his hands in conciliation, backing away from Rus. As she finished, she raised a hand to her head and staggered a bit. Black spots swam across her vision.

"Charlotte..." Mason reached out to help her, but she shrugged him off. Her vision cleared and she let out a soft exhale. Reaching in her back pocket, she found a pen. Moving past Ross and the other Charlotte, who she'd been pointedly ignoring, she walked up to Rus and grabbed his hand. After quickly scribbling her digits across his skin, she put the pen back in her pocket. "Call me sometime and I'll pay you back for saving me..." And with that, she turned and walked back towards the street. The others followed quickly, Mason holding back for a moment to glare at Rus before leaving.

  • Bumper Cars ~ I was thinking we could time skip a little. Rus could text Charlie and they could be talking all week and then he shows up in the town where she's going to college and invites her out for lunch. ^_^

(Sounds good to me. So, you want me start with him showing up in the town or something else?)

  • OOC:
I'll do a quick post and you can have him text her or something and say that he's in town

    IC:
Charlotte lied on her bed in her dorm, her fiery red hair sprawled around her head like a crown of fire. Her headaches had stopped earlier in the week, but the bruises on her arm from where the man had gripped her had yet to fade away, making t-shirts off limits. She'd barely talked to Mason and Ross on the drive home and even less since being back. Classes had helped in taking her mind off of her frustration, but she was still a bit salty towards them to say the least.

Meanwhile, she'd been texting the boy, Rus, from the city to distract herself. He seemed nice, so far and he had saved her life. So far she had really just enjoyed being able to talk to someone without feeling like it was a forced or one-sided conversation. She needed a break from her two best friends and this was working out nicely.

Rolling over on her bed, she sighed. It was Friday afternoon again, a week since the horrid city experience, and she had no plans. The boys were having a guys' night out and Charlie didn't have that many girl friends. Flipping her phone over absently, she wondered what her new friend Rus was up to. It wasn't like they could do more than talk... right? The city was an hour away and she would never ask him to drive all that way just to keep her company. Besides, he probably had plans of his own.

  • MAYBE GOD DOES NOT BELIEVE IN YOU?

    (Alright alright alright)
Ruslan had taken to visiting the town in which Charlie resided in. He was glad to actually have somebody to talk to for once even it may be just through a phone screen. Throughout his life he never did have a lot of friends and when he did make a friend they would end up leaving him in the end. He hoped that she was different than everybody else and wouldn't abandon him in the end. With a small huff he found himself crossing the street with a young woman who was busy reading something on her phone. He had found himself staring and the woman quickly looked up, clearly creeped out by Rus's actions. When Rus had realized this he quickly looked away and tried apologizing. The woman did nothing but ignore him as they arrived on the other side. She walked off into the opposite direction, leaving Rus by himself.

Scratching the back of his neck he looked down at his feet wondering what exactly to do. That was then when he remembered just exactly what he was here for. He patted down his back pocket and found his phone. Without any hesitation he pulled up Charlotte's number but found his thumbs hovering over the letters. He felt like a bit of an idiot just standing there not doing anything. Maybe it was the fact that he never actually asked anybody to hang out with him. This was a first and he was sure to make sure that he wasn't going to mess it up.

Hey, uh, you there? I know you might find this weird but I'm actually in town, right now. There wasn't too much to do in the city so I thought, hey, why not come here? Anyway, you busy with anything? Rus had also found himself hesitating to press the send button. After a while of debating with himself he finally sent the message and stared at the screen for a full minute before looking back up and continuing his walk, keeping his phone in hand.

    fangs °

  • Lying on her back on her bed, Charlie stared at the ceiling blankly. Her phone vibrated a couple times next to her head and yawning a bit, she rolled over to check it. When she saw the familiar ID, she smiled. As she read the text, her eyebrows raised in surprise. It was so bizarre that she'd literally just been thinking about wanting to hang out with the boy from the city and now he was actually in town. What were the odds of that.

Hey! she texted back enthusiastically. I'm not doing anything, just hanging around the dorms and dying of boredom. She caught herself smiling a bit at the idea of hanging out with the boy again. They'd been texting on and off all week and they'd face timed at least twice, but she couldn't wait to meet up with him in person again. Last time hadn't exactly gone great.

Remembering the night in the city made her irritated like nothing else. It wasn't right the way her friends had abandoned her and then blamed her for going missing. She'd been lectured by Mason the whole way home but she'd bit her tongue. Her head ached where she'd hit it on the wall and she could feel the bump that had sprouted up where the skin was most tender. She hadn't talked to the boys since that night and she honestly had no problem with that. They probably didn't care she wasn't talking to them, but they deserved the silent treatment.

  • MAYBE GOD DOES NOT BELIEVE IN YOU?

The boy had just began whistling to himself when his phone started to vibrate. He fumbled to turn it on and was quick to read her response. A smile made its way onto his face. Well, I have the exact thing to help with that boredom. Since you're free, you mind getting dinner or something with me? As he sent the text Ruslan found himself blankly staring at the screen. He shook his head as he realized that he was just standing in the middle of the sidewalk where people were walking. Rus made up his mind to head towards her college and wait right outside the campus for her. The only problem was that he didn't know the exact way. That didn't matter, he knew the place well enough and he trusted himself to find his destination.

Ruslan continued on down the sidewalk making sure to pay attention to the many road signs. He found a few people giving him looks and he couldn't exactly figure out why. As he waited to cross another road he found the young man that he was standing beside looking at him. He then opened his mouth and recited the question that Rus completely hated. "Hey, uh, you're pretty tall, dude. You play Bask-"

"No, I don't play Basketball. I'm a major in music performance and yes, the weather is quite nice up here." Rus watched as the walking sign changed to allow him to cross the street. The stranger who had talked to him was still standing on the sidewalk, waiting to cross a different road. Ruslan uncomfortably shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans. He was glad to see the sight of the campus coming into view. He knew he could trust himself and here he was! Ruslan quickened his pace a bit and headed towards a spot where he could wait.

    fangs °

  • Charlie grinned as he texted her again, excited at the idea of seeing him again. I'd love to have dinner! she responded quickly. Give me 30 m to get ready! It was completely crazy to be going out with someone she barely knew, but he'd saved her life. He couldn't be that bad, right?

Rolling out of bed, the redhead had to take a minute to recover her vision from the head rush she'd received. After that, she made her way over to her dresser and looked for something to wear. A few minutes later, she'd squeezed into a pair of torn skinny jeans and a dark green sleeveless shirt that showed off just the slightest bit of skin around her waist. Facing the mirror that hung on her door, she remembered the bruises on her upper arm and frowned. The outfit looked better without a cardigan, but she looked like an abuse victim. Grabbing a maroon colored jacket from her closet, she slid the soft fabric up her arms and examined herself once more.

Charlotte had never really seen herself as beautiful, always being rather self-conscious about looks. It had only gotten worse when Mason had started hanging around other girls. She'd been trying to get him to notice her for years and a pretty blonde walked by and he was head over heels? It just wasn't fair. Mentally shaking herself, Charlie looked sternly into the mirror. "Grow up. You're going out with a great guy who actually cares about you. Forget Mason and Charlotte. You're going to have a great time." She stared at herself in the mirror for a moment longer before silently thanking the heavens that her roommate was never in the room. Grabbing her bag, she shouldered it and headed downstairs to set out to find Rus.

  • MAYBE GOD DOES NOT BELIEVE IN YOU?

Rus's foot started to tap a bit as he waited for her to leave the building. This was actually the first time in a while for him to be hanging out with somebody. For most of his life the only person he could hang out with was himself. He would always be that one lonely person in the back of the coffee shop quietly reading a book or observing the place. However, Rus was glad to have met this one girl and he was even more glad in the way that he met her. Ruslan couldn't help but think over all of the things that could have happened to her if he wasn't walking down that sidewalk that night. He tried not to think of all the things that could have happened but it wasn't like he couldn't. It was memorable moment and he knew that he would think of that one night every single day until he died.

As he waited he watched a few cars passed by and listened to the sounds of birds chirping. If it weren't for Charlie he'd be in his dorm messing around with his keyboard. Rus liked to imagine what his family would think. They would certainly be proud of him but he hadn't even talked to them after leaving the house at only 16. Of course, he missed them but he couldn't ever bring himself to contact them. As he thought it over caught the sight of a familiar figure in the distance. Rus perked up, a small smile on his face.

"Glad you could make it." He uncrossed his arms and stood there in a bit of an awkward way.

(Slightly rushed because I typed this up a few minutes before having to go somewhere!)

Seriously sorry it's taken me forever to get back to this thread, I've been majorly slammed with school and life and it's just kind of gotten away from me ^_^" I'll try to be a little better with this in the future

    IC:
Charlotte saw Rus and her heart did a little flutter. She grinned and walked towards him, her red hair bouncing around her shoulders as she moved. "Hey!" she said coolly as she came to a stop next to him. He was so much taller than her, which was saying something. Charlie had always been the tallest in her grade - generally taller than most other girls and some of the guys. "It's good to see you in person, again. After all the skype and text I was beginning to believe I'd just imagined you up and you lived in the screen." She laughed a bit awkwardly, brushing some of her fiery locks away from her face.

"So... what brings you to our humble town? It's an hour from the city and I can't imagine you came for the attractions, as there's absolutely nothing to do here." That had been the reason her and the others had been in the city that night. Sometimes, you just needed to get away, though, and if that was what he was doing here, she understood. "What're your plans for the evening?" she asked curiously, her green eyes sparkling up at him.
