Honestly, and this isn't me trying to be a prick, but I'm not showing much interest in this. I'm all for apocalyptic stuff but the aliens just seem silly to me. Unless it's the Combine, in which they aren't silly, they're terrifying af

Half Life 2, they're a multidimensional race of conquerors. What we see in Half Life 2 is really just modified humans (Combine Soldiers, and Civil Protection. Look em up) while a lot of other stuff (Striders, hunters, gunships, dropships, and a few other things) are captured, living things from other planets that fell to the Combine. They're implanted with cyborg stuff that gives them built in armor and weapons. But there's still 99.9% of the combine that Nobody's seen, the only exception being the Advisors which are the closest we've seen to the actual Combine race. To the Combine, the Earth is just some backwater planet that they want to harvest for resources, so they don't even bother going with their entire military might, but they still take over the world in 7 hours.
