Moonpaw saw the opportunity and lunged for her neck. Once he had a hold of her neck, he bit down, but not hard enough to kill her. Adrenaline was pumping through his veins. He felt the eyes of Marshwhisker, Hillclaw, Lakeshine, and Swiftclaw, and the rest of the clan on him. He wanted, no he needed to beat his mentor in order to become a warrior. In order to rise above the rest.

Spiderpetal hissed and tried to get free. Then her tail lashed in surrender irritated but also very proud.

Moonpaw let her go and sighed, taking a somewhat weak step to the side. His wounds have stopped bleeding, but his missing tail has caused him to lose quite a bit of blood. He lifted his head up and watched as his leader came over to him. "Moonpaw. You have passed your assessment. You have proven that you are strong enough to be a warrior of Quailclan. From this day and for ever, you will be known as Moonrise."

Hillclaw shouted with glee. He had a feeling the young tom would make it out alive, and as a warrior. He turned to his good friend Lakeshine, whom still seamed to be pouting over her quick defeat.

Lightningstrike was peering out of the medicine cats den, watching the ceremony. He smiled as Moonpaw-rise. Moonrise became a warrior. He now felt at home. The only thing missing is kits...
He now started to miss Daisypetal, because she was having his kits. He turned to look at Thundercloud and thought for a moment, wondering if she would like to be his mate.

Thundercloud was cheering with the others. Her eyes glowed happily then she smiled. She swished her tail and saw Lightningstrike."Don't let the others bother you."she said to him. Her nose touched his injured cheek lightly her eyes showed soft with worry.

Tigerpaw walked over to Moonrise."Come to the medicine den when you've finished here."he said. Then he walked off heading black to the den.

Spiderpetal walked over to Moonrise now. Her blue eyes shown happiness."Congrats Moonrise I knew you could do it."

Moonrise looked at Spiderpetal with flat eyes. "I hope you wernt holding back on me." With that, after he was dismissed, he limped after Tigerpaw with his head held high, trying his best to block out the pain in his eyes.

Swiftclaw looked at the cats gathered. "The assessment is over!"

"We're not done yet." Volewhisker spoke the words, standing and stepping forward into the circle. His gaze was narrowed as he looked over at Swiftclaw. His tail twitched, but he had his chest puffed out. Raising his chin, he turned his gaze to look over at Pinewhisker while saying, "I'd like to challenge Pinebreeze for her position as deputy."

Pinebreeze was slightly surprised at the announcement from her brother. She hadn't thought he would be envious of her position of deputy, let alone challenge her in front of the clan with an injured shoulder. She would have declined the fight if she hadn't lived in QuailClan. Instead, the black-furred she-cat turned her calm green gaze towards Swiftclaw, waiting for his input.

The raccoon like tom's eyes widened in surprise. He circled around both cats. "Well I'm sure we all know the rules? If a cat challenges you, you must fight to the death. No exceptions. But, If whoever was challenged denies it, must be thrown out in pieces!" He turned to his deputy and Volewhisker, a new wildness in his eyes as a twisted smile spread across his face. "So Pinebreeze, what will it be? Kill your brother? Or have the clan kill you?"

Pinebreeze considered her options. She could either one, be killed because she refused to fight or two, fighting her brother to the death, who didn't seem to like her that much anyway. Forcing herself not to sigh, and turned her narrowed gaze onto Volewhisker, who had a smile almost just as wicked on as Swiftclaw did. "I'll fight," Pinebreeze said simply. Standing, the sleek black she-cat padded into the ring. She had put on a poker face, much like she always did when she fought anybody. Volewhisker and her had sparred multiple times when they were young, but their set of fighting moves had changed since then. However, Pinebreeze had an advantage. She did know that Volewhisker had always been slightly slow moving but a heavy attacker. If she dodged in and out, getting swift attacks in and made Volewhisker fatigued, she might win. The two siblings looked over at Swiftclaw, waiting for the okay.

The leader climbed onto his rock perch and lied down. "Let the better deputy win!" He swept his tail in a large movement to signify that the battle had begun. Moonrise and Lightningstrike were in the medicine cats den, while Lakeshine and hillclaw leaned into the ring, both had surprisdd look on their faces

Pinebreeze got herself into a battle stance, locking her eyes on Volewhisker as he moved to attack. He leaped forward before rearing to start slashing at Pinebreeze. However, his injured shoulder made him slow and he easily dodge, only getting a small slash in one ear. While he was raising his injured leg to attack, she propelled herself forward, shoving her head into his dark-furred stomach. He gasped as the air was pushed out of him and he landed on his back, winded. Claws unsheathed, the black she-cat sliced his stomach. Her brother let out a yowl and used his back legs to push her back, giving him enough time to get up. Both siblings' ears were pulled back as they started to circle each other, Volewhisker's blood dripping slowly onto the ground under him while Pinebreeze felt a small bit of blood rolling down her face, though not into her eye.

Moonrise peaked round the medicine cat's entrance at the sound of volewhisker yowling. He watched Volewhisker's blood splattered onto his own drying blood pools. Watching the siblings fight made him realize, you cant fully rely on someone. No matter what, eventually you will have to take the power for yourself. His gray eyes looked down, hard at his almost blood soaked paws. I trust Spiderpetal and Lilacstorm and Swiftclaw.... but what if I really cant?

Tigerpaw looked at Moonrise."Im going to be working on you so try to stay still. I don't want infection setting into your wounds."he said gruffly. He then turned needing to get a lot of stuff for all the wounds.

Spiderpetal and Thundercloud watched rhe fight. They were both surprised by it.

Pinebreeze kept the calm, cool expression non her face as they fought, giving away very little about what she was thinking. The sleek she-cat easily dodged another one of Volewhisker's attacks, leaping to the side. Volewhisker let out a growl and jumped for her, but she reared and met him as he started down on her. She did a front-paw strike, shoving Volewhisker heavily onto the ground. She ran her claws over Volewhisker's face, blinding him on one side. He let out a yowl, bucking his sister off. She didn't fall, but he did step back, her gaze narrowed as she studied her brother, who was clearly infuriated with the current outcome.

Waterhoney was walking back to camp and sighed a bit. She had came to the clans three moons ago and was looking for Daisypetal since then. She was just coming back from FeatherClan and was thinking about how the cats there thought she was Daisypetal a little bit because she did look like her. Waterhoney shook her head and walked into the camp and looked around wondering where that queen that was very pregnant was at because she was wondering if that might be Daisypetal but wasn't sure because she has not spent a lot of time in Quailclan since she joined.
