  • The Arl huffed, opening her smaller book. Why did it seem she was the Daar? Nao appeared to do much of the work, leaving the easier parts for the King. Of course she never said any of this out loud.
"Well sir, we could check on the castle's upkeeping, review the menus for the various meals today, read up on the visitors who will soon be arriving.. The list really goes on, for a few pages in fact."
While the Daar would 'wing it', Aester was not far behind, filling in any holes or weakpoints in the leader's orders and answers.
"And especially the missing troops in the forest. They need to be dealt with as well.. Whether it be sending more soldiers in after them, or deciding to go against that."
In fact, the thought of being the Daar sometimes, ever so rarely, creep into the adviser's mind. Ruling a kingdom would be grand, and to her, the King did appear naive, but of course she would never do sch a thing. Besides, Zygax would be a huge opposing force, and would most likely stop her, especially in the field of battle, even with her strong magical prowess. Shaking her head, she dismissed the thought.
"What will it be then, my king?"

    Edit: Dammmmm Nao chill!

  • Aradace rolled his shoulders, "Zygax suggests waiting another few nights before sending any more parties out. He is faithful that his warriors will return safely, and had just encountered minor troubles." Aradace knew better, however. They probably wouldn't return and he was reluctant to send out anymore Arls to their deaths. "Let us," he thought for a brief moment, "read up on the visitors." As all knew, Aradace loved meeting new Arls and learning new things. This would be somewhat of a combination of the two. "Please, lead the way."

  • "Of course-" Nao stated, giving a small cough before starting.
"Nobles from the east and south are coming in a week or so to deal with foreign affairs, bringing part of their family; the northern hunters will arrivewithin the week for trade, and the munthrek, that came not to long ago, is of course, still here.."
The advisor then thought aloud to herself, or anyone who would listen.
Perhaps we can pay the hunters to track down the missing troops.. They weren't recruits, so the wolves would have gotten them easily.. Plus we could offer them the furs of any animals they catch..

  • Hollond's expression morphed into one of mocking hurt, "Why, my name is Hollond!" He exclaimed biting into his own pastry with a slight chuckle. His ''hurt'' frown turning into a broad smile as he wiggled a finger at the young prince, "Remember my name now, child." He teased turning away to finish his pastry.

    OOC: Low muse, hecka tired. ^^;

  • He laughed a bit, finishing off his treat as well. " I promise you I won't," He said with a grin, starting to walk around again, looking at all the items on display at many of the booths, seeming particularly interested in the booths that sold special drawing inks and other materials.

  • The short Arl hummed in amusement as he finished off his treat and trailed silently behind the prince. His eyes scanned the distance as various Arls running the booths began to call out for the princes attention, their long arms waving wildly with big, comical grins spread across their faces. Hollond held out a hand to gaze at his nails then clicked his tongue drawing his attention to the young male once more, "You like art?" He asked, though it came out as more of a statement than anything.

  • He glanced at him from the corner of his eye before his gaze returned to the inks, but Dean nodded. " I do," he said softly," I sketch to relax, like when I cook." The prince ended up buying a few different shades of green, grey and blue inks, along with a few different tools and brushes. " What is it that you like to do then? Surely you don't alway clean."

  • Zygax cracked a sly grin, as the entered the training ground. "You are losing your touch, byou say?" He started taking off pieces of his decorative armor he usually wore to events were he stood before a group of nobles as Aradace's right hand and tossed them carelessly to the ground. Today, he wore it because Aradace liked him to just in case someone came into the throne room while they were chatting. It made him seem more professional, he supposed. He hated it, as it was utterly useless other than for visuals. "I challenge you to a sparring match, I can't have one of the best shiviri becoming dull." he said, as he struggled to take off the chest piece.

Lennox scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. She gave him a sarcastic glare, "Lennox Remes lose her touch...?" She paused for a moment and gave a small laugh. Watching Zygax struggle with his decorative armour she tilted her head. Lennox hadn't bothered with wearing hers- she left her chambers in a rush this morning. "I accept. Of course." She replied her blood already pumping faster in excitement of a well-matched duel. The warriors were talented but there was a reason these two were the leaders. They were extremely tactical fighters. Lennox hadn't had a fair match up in quite awhile. "Physical strength, magic- or perhaps both...?" She asked curious to the rules of their sparring match. Lennox had a new trick up her sleeve that she was excited to show off- that is if the rules were in her favour.

  • Zygax finally broke free of his bounds, and his chest piece fell just like all the other pieces. He waved his hand dismissively, "No magic. I cannot risk burning you or starting a fire." He looked around, at all the trainees, "I do not wish to burn them either." He entered a fighting stance, "Fists."

"Is there not anything that needs done now?" Aradace questioned, he wanted to move around, get out and see people. "Anyone that needs seen? I shall go straight to their homes!" He said the last part with a bit of excitement, he loved being able to see all his subject.

  • Hollond moved to rub his chin in thought, "I suppose I enjoy taking walks and watching fly past." He explained. He wasn't the most interesting person but he did enjoy the ''lesser'' things in life like being at home, or watching kids play around the city. "Yes, I enjoy strolls the most. Especially when there's a nice breeze..."

    OOC: Short post

  • " That sound lovely," He said softly, closing his eyes. Then suddenly his body slowed down to a stop, standing where he was. What are you doing?, the voices echoed in his mind, You fool, he's just like the rest of them, like your mother! He'll find out about us and leave! Don't you dare start to get comfortable, don't you dare start to think that there could be anything there!! Dean's mind raced and his eyes seemed to go wild as he listened in silence. Unbeknownst to him, his mother had told the staff of her son's condition, to make sure that she wasn't the only one who could help him differentiate between what real and what was not.

  • Lennox smirked, so she would not get to show off her new skill today. No matter. She enjoyed a casual fistfight. "Sounds intriguing...." She drawled, walking over to start warming up. From beside the destroyed dummy she had killed earlier she called out, "We will need to replace... er... this one." She pointed as she kicked another dummy. She started out with a kick-punch-punch set to warm up as she watched Zygax closely. She loved studying her opponent before the match to judge how they'd fight.

  • Nao stiffened up. The Daar's cheerfulness was near sickening to her. She remembered the last king's reign; much more tightly ruled that that if the current ruler. In her opinion, she preferred something more structural.
"Well, sir, there is not much to do involving others. Much more technical actually."
There had to be something, but what?
"I am your adviser, I only help make decisions based on facts.. It comes down to what you want to do. Is there nothing you can think of?"

  • Zygax crossed his arms and nodded, "Yes, someone needs to be less rough on the poor training dummies." He began shadow boxing, moving quickly and dipping imaginary punches. He was a calm fighter, always waiting for an opening.

Aradace rubbed his chin thoughtfully, then plopped back down into the throne, "I want to know what the soon-to-be visiting nobles from the further lands are up to. Sometimes they become carried away just because they aren't directly in my grasp, and need to be checked. I need to prepare a speech as well, so any information would help."

  • Lennox blushed, her whole being against it. Don't blush. Damn you. Lennox took a moment to compose herself, continuing to warm up- now stretching. "And may I ask- how you assume it is I who broke the dummies?" She said innocently, looking him dead in the eye- a small flush of colour still evident from her blush.

  • Zygax continued to move agilely despite his larger frame. "There is only one who treats the dummies in such a manner!" He stopped moving to meet her gaze, "You." He smiled slightly when he noticed her blush, thinking it made her look less like a badass and more like the average, and a bit cute, Arl. As for the dummies, was more happy than anything that they were broken, it showed her power. Besides, they could have more made easily. After all, he was arguably the most intimidating Arl in the entire kingdom as well as the Daars adoptive brother. "Are you going to attempt to use the same tactic on me?" He raised a questioning eyebrow, knowing fully well that Lennox sometimes became carried away when sparring. Just ask the broken dummies.

  • Hollond paused, watching in concerned silence as Dean froze and crossed his arms with a tilt of his head, long hair tumbling across his shoulder. "My lord? Are you well? Shall we go somewhere with less people?" He asked stepping forward and pressing a warm hand to the prince's shoulder. He looked over to him trying to see if he could figure out what had made his freeze but found he wasn't quite sure. Perhaps his condition was sparking up again? A frown crossed the pale Arl's face as he gave the prince a gentle push, "This way, ser..." He murmured in his most soothing voice.

  • Lennox sputtered before composing herself, "No. I won't use the same tactic... I think you're more useful in one piece rather than multiple chunks of flesh." She gave a cute smile, trying to make her statement for effective. "Are you ready?" She asked, cracking her knuckles instinctively. She looked over her shoulder and watched the other warriors for a moment- watching their form. She was a relatively aggressive fighter. Get in and get it done. Though, she knew Zygax's fighting style- she'd known him for years. He would wait until she tired herself out and went in for the win. Lennox wrinkled her nose as she thought about how she would go about sparring with him.

  • The prince jumped suddenly, spinning quickly to face to the maid, drawing the sword that was strapped to his waist with heavy breath. The tip of the blade a was pointed at the shorter Arl's stomach, though it shook terribly in the prince's panicked, trembling hand. He breathed heavily, as if he had just run a mile as he stood and stared, not seeing to realize his current actions yet.

  • The maid stared at the prince in shock, almond shaped eyes flying wide to show more of the whites of his eyes. He held up his hands as if in surrender and attempted to take a few steps back. "It's alright, Mi'lord. It's just me...Hollond..." He said slowly lowering his hands and clutching onto his arms as if trying to protect his chest. He figured being run through the abdomen wouldn't be good but his chest was another story completely. It would be fatal compared to being stabbed through his stomach or side, though, there were still risks to either body part being pierced. The short maid stared at the male in contemplative silence before attempting to approach the shaken prince again, "I didn't mean to startle you...Shh..." He said raising his hands for the prince to see.
