The coding has changed on FF! But never fear, it’s not that much different than the old coding at all! If any of you are familiar with [div style=”coding”] on other sites, that will help you a lot when considering this new coding. It’s a mix of that div style coding, and the Fancypost coding that we have grown used to.
Some of the main issues, currently, is the centering, the new start code, colors, fonts, and font sizes,a so these are the mains one that I'll cover- if there's more, let me know, and I can help figure it out! .
Centering –
Unfortunately, you will have to get used to using center codes before your new templates- They are no longer automatically centered. Instead, you have to use center codes such as:
Starting code –
What I mean by this is, the site no longer uses [ fancypost bgcolor = ]. Instead, it uses a div-style ish coding. [ fancypost=background:color ; ]
For example, take our old code.
And compare it with the same template in the new coding.
All that changes is that you just have to think of the coding in a new way. ‘Fancy post has this background color’ instead of ‘fancypost background color is this’ So, thankfully, it’s not much different!
Colors –
Some people say that coloring sometimes doesn’t work within templates, however, as far as I have tested, it does! If it does not, try using the BCC [ color = whatever] instead of the template coding!
Font tools –
Font tools still currently work! Font-size:, Font-family:, etc. will. However, letter-spacing does not.
Background:url
THIS CODE HAS CHANGED FROM THE OLD ONE.
It is now background-image:url('LINK');
It is very important you keep the ' ' surrounding the link, otherwise it won't work.
Tables
While there is a table option that still resides within the coding, it puts in a background that you cannot get rid of- which often makes it hard for template coders to have tables that work to what they want it to be. However, float codes were added in, which allows you to manipulate boxes to float in certain places, allowing you to get boxes to float side by side, mimicking a true 'table' code, with any backgrounds or doo dads that you wish to have.
If anyone has any other questions, or issues with templates they need help figuring out, please let me know and I will do my best to figure it out and help you!
