Mentor?

    Brassstar nodded, pointing out to a tortoiseshell she-cat in the clearing outside. "Yes, I forgot you needed to become a apprentice, so that she-cat over there will be your mentor" Cherrystream, the tortoiseshell padded over. "Hi!"

    The newly named Geckopaw looked up at his new mentor with big round eyes, completely forgetting his manors. Suddenly, they snapped back to him. "H-h-hi.... I'm Geckopaw..." He touced noses with her and was filled with excitement. "Let's go on a secret mission!"

    Cherrystream laughed, looking down at her newly named apprentice. "Ok, how about, the secret mission is looking around Clan territory?" She joked around, walking toward the borders.

    Geckopaw could barely contain his excitement. "Yes! I can't believe that I'm only just starting my training and I'm already on a secret mission!

    Cherrystream laughed again, stopping at the edge of the borders. "Ok, here we are! Try and hold yourself, so you don't jump into the river"

    Confused, Cherrystream scented the air. "I..don't smell anything at all, what is it like?"

    Cherrystream shrugged. "It could be some herbs, or berries, do you want to search for them?"

    "Sure!" Geckopaw exclaimed. He followed his nose until he came to a bush with red berries on them. He turned to his mentor and asked, "Are these OK to eat?"

    "I'm not sure..I think they probably are, but..." The mentor meowed confusingly, she had never seen a berry like this before.

    Geckopaw remembered back to when he had seen berries in the medicine cat's den.
    "Maybe we can take some to the medicine cat." he suggested.

    "Yes, I suppose so, if you can't carry much with your teeth, wrap a leaf around it instead" She instructed, wrapping a large amount of the berries into a leaf.

    "Thanks for the help!" Geckopaw said. He walked back to camp and delivered the berries to the medicine cat. Then he went back outside. "I think I smell a mouse." He told Cherrystream. He walked over to where he smelled it, crouching down when he saw it. He crawled towards it, and then pounced. The mouse was too quick; it got away before Geckopaw could reach it.

    Yes, I know, apologies. I was considering that at the beginning, but I wasn't completely sure, I hope what I did wasn't much of a nuisance.

    Geckopaw looked up at Cherrystream. "That was a close one, wasn't it?" he asked sadly, hoping for some sort of sympathy.

    "I suppose it was, you did very well, and I haven't even taught you the basics yet" She smiled, flicking her tail toward the training hollow. "Ready to learn some hunting?"
