• The blue tom growled. At least some cats had some sense left. But it wasn't good enough. Darkhawk stood, and bolted out of camp. And he wouldn't come back. Not until everything was corrected by their ancestors.

    ooc; out~

  • Fadingmoon's body began to tremble with anger and grief mixing. How could her Clanmates fall to such ruin like this? They were bickering over who was going to be deputy and who was acting like deputy...there wasn't time for this. They were here to grieve. Sharply glancing around at the cats gathered, she let a low growl rumbled from her throat. "ENOUGH!"

Lashing her tail, she stood proudly where she was. The deputy, soon to be leader, did not let her disappointment and anger hide from her Clan mates. "Are you all so petty? Are you really? Do you think it matters who organizes a patrol? Do you think it matters who is ranked above who? Puddlestar is dead! That is what matters! A vigil is meant to be silent, to honor her! You guys are being FOOLS. I will not allow this in my Clan. The next person who starts an argument at this vigil? They will be put on apprentice duties for a moon. Possibly longer."

Turning toward Affy, Fadingmoon let the grief show on her face. It would bring them such closer to find a body...but what was the likelihood of finding one? She'd gone down a freaking waterfall, for crying out loud. And yet, she could not blame her Clan mates for crying for a body. "She went down the waterfall. That goes beyond the base of the mountain. You are free to search there, if you truly wish to...but I do not believe you will find anything."

When Nightinggaleshine approached her, Fadingmoon glanced over. "We can speak after the vigil."

Lifting her head, Fadingmoon knew that she had a duty. Perhaps if she appointed the deputy they would all relax and start to realize the bigger picture here. She was silent for several moments, thinking about the cats that she had seen around camp several times. That were always hunting, or patrolling. That had been with the Clan, thick and thin. Two names immediately came to her mind, and she realized then...she could not pick one deputy. What if something happened to her? What if she was overcome with the same illness that captured Puddlestar? She would never leave another cat in her position, where they were forced to burden both duties. Two deputies...unusual, but it was definitely the way to go. "Rueheart and Azure will be deputies. I know it is not common to appoint two, but our Clan has long suffered with the burden of just one person able to do all the work. I will not allow that to happen again."

  • Whitemoon sighed. Fadingstar was right, she was being foolish and now; she would probably never be deputy. She decided not to dwell on it and went to try and find Puddlestar's body.

  • Whitestorm went to sit next to Fadingstar and tried to calm her by sharing tongues and with gentle words.

  • Silverpaw twitched, her eyes lowered and ears flattened. Everything was getting worse. Puddlestar, dead. Her best friend, gone. Why, Starclan? She mused, tears brimmed her eyes but didn't dare fall.

She nodded in agreement with Fadingstar, the tears got wiped away by her tail as she stood. Puddlestar wouldn't like us all fighting over who is deputy. She wouldn't like it at all. The words never left her mouth, too afraid to speak and have the spotlight on her. She was already shy and distant as it is, no need to add onto that.

Sapphire blue eyes turned to look at Fadingstar and Nightinggaleshine, then with a sigh, the apprentice turned to mourn. No one listens to the apprentices anyway. They would think we are siding with the more likely to become victorious... She thought.

  • With a heavy sigh, she nodded. Somehow, she knew the new leader would pick the two named cats. Her heart sunk. A pictur of Puddlestar rose into her head. but she shook it away. She wanted to say the same words Fadingmoon had said. But she just had to keep quiet. She wasn't wanting to be deputy. She wasn't even thinking of it before all the foolish Snowclanners started blabbering about it.

  • Giftpaw immediately closed her mouth and shrunk into a little ball at Fadingmoon's words. She kept her eyes wide open and ears pricked though, observing and learning through her words. With a simple, somewhat scared, nod, the apprentice glanced around to pick out the new deputies among the crowd. Oh, I hope they do a good job... She thought, biting her lip.

  • Azure lifted her head at Fadingmoon's cries, and winced at the harsh words. However, she was glad fadingmoon was taking action. Afterall, this was getting out of control. She glanced at the cats around her, wondering if they would finally quiet down.

Sighing, the gray warrior looked at the caves ceiling, watching water slowly drip inot puddles below. Puddles. Just like Puddlestar. Was she watching them know, upset by how her own clan was acting? It was just plain distressing.

About to let herself drop her head once more, Azure heard her name. However, what came next shocked her even more. She was.. Deputy? Her blood ran cold, as she began to feel light-headed.. This was.. Crazy. Being paced among the ranks of Rueheart, it was incredible. She had seen her peer around often, and he was much older then her. A far better warrior. However, now, she was technically on the same level as him. It shocked her through to the bone.

With her heart punding against her ribcage, Azure stood up, dipping her head to their soon-to-be leader. She really was unable to speak, her throat was too dry to form words. Sitting back down, Azure's mind once more wandered to Puddlestar. Would she be proud of this choice, of Fadingmoon's dicisions? The long haired cat could only hope.

  • Whitemoon sighed as she walked along the river. She soon came to the waterfall. She looked into the water and sighed. At least it's shallow, she thought. She waded into the water and began looking for Puddlestar's body. She searched for several hours.

  • Nightpath padded towards the gathered cats, eyes squinted. His head felt like it was on fire and dashed against a wall at the same time. Blinking spots from his vision, the huge black tom settled by the outskirts. He'd never been close to Puddlestar, so it felt wrong to make his way into the center of the grieving crowd.
Still, she had been his leader and he crouched down for vigil. He'd heard much of what was going on, the argumentsn the fact that there was no body. He tried to send a prayer to StarClan for her, but found he could focus on little but his splitting head-ache.

Kookaburralaugh for once had nothing to giggle about. The red tabby and white tom found his father in the crowd and sat next to him. He'd inherited his color and thick fur from his mother, and his massive size and orange eyes from his father. The young warrior had never gone through the death of a leader before, and the news was jarring. Hadn't he thought of Puddlestar as a supercat? An immortal who could live forever? At least, he had until she'd gotten sick... no, even then he'd believed that she would get better and heck, he believed she'd last well after he'd become an elder.

He pressed his nose against Nightpath's scruff, his deep eyes peering up at Fadingmoon. It would feel strange to call her Fadingstar, to call another cat his leader.

Spicypaw had a great retort all ready for the stupid cats who were arguing over whatever stupid things they were arguing about. Her mouth opened, sure that it was the best ever comeback in the history of best ever comebacks. She was sure Fadingmoon would be impressed if she said it! And then Fadningmoon rebuked them and threatened punishment. Spicypaw's jaws closed with a snap.
Apprentice duties didn't mean much to her since, well, she had to do them anyway. But the thought of being in trouble with the new leader stopped her. Plus: What would daddy say if she spoke out? She looked around as her father and older brother approached, and trotted quickly to sit by them.

  • ooc; recap

ic; Brindleflower sighed. Who cares about deputy? I know I dont. All I care about is the greatest leader died.

  • Brindleflower padded to Pinefeather. "Hello, Pinefeather." Her sweet but distant voice peeped. Ever since her mate died, grieve clung to her pelt. Now another important cat dies. She has had a hard life. Easpecially now that she was left pregnant.

  • Affy had finally settled down and chose to ignore the ongoing arguements that kept rising amongst their Clanmates. Despite this, a voice still ranged on in Affy's mind, rather then being voiced outwardly. Who cares who gets the position of Deputy.. She thought as yet another Warrior asked. Now's a time for grief and remembrance, not shallow ambitioiusness! For a moment, Affy began to wonder how it was that she, a kittypet-turned-Warrior, could have more sense then some of her Clanmates, but the thought was shoved aside the moment it came to mind. She wasn't better then anyone else. They were just... well, Affy couldn't describe it.

When Fadingmoon finally spoke out, the Maine coon relaxed. Finally, maybe there'd be some piece and quiet. StarClan forbid cats shut their mouths for two seconds...

"There's no harm in checking." Affy answered with a shrug of her shoulder, The realistic chances that Affy finding Puddlestar, however, were slim to none. In reality, it was the latter.

Affy's ears pricked as Fadingmoon went on to name the Deputy. Or rather, Deputies. At once, the Maine coon twisted to look in Rueheart's direction, and then toward Azure. There was a congratulating smile on the Warrior's face as she purred a quieted, "Congratulations." She didn't know either cat personally, but had seen them enough around camp to know Fadingmoon had made a good choice.

  • Embertoe looked at Affy. "Hi…hi Affy. You look beautiful tonight." He complimented.

    Brindleflower waited.

  • "Hello Brindleflower"Pinefeather said as he looked at her bulging belly."Brindleflower,I would like to be your mate"."Ive always had my eye on you but I was to afraid to ask you"

  • Brindleflower blushed and looked at him. She was silent for a moment, looking at the sky. Finally, she responded, "of course, I have felt the same way."

  • Spicypaw looked up at Quietpaw. Well, he certainly didn't live up to his name, did he? With a sigh, she padded over, taking it upon herself to maintain a quiet atmosphere of mourning.

"Well, it is, so..." she meowed, brushing her tail against the fellow apprentice. She looked to the side in digust to the two cats confessing their love. Wasn't this the wrong kind of time and place for that? What morons.
