  • [fancypost bgcolor=; border:0px; text-align:justify;]Littlepaw could remember the night he had snuck out of camp a little over a moon ago. It was dark, the friendly cover of trees were threatening looms of shade. Though he wasn't one to disobey rules and go out during night, he was desperate to get some training in. Now, he was a little older. Maybe a bit wiser, who knew? The apprentice had trouble falling asleep, much like that night a moon ago. He kept tossing, trying to get comfortable. It was tough, and his wandering mind couldn't handle it any longer.

Instead, he decided to take a breather. It would save his snoozing denmates from his tousling. Littlepaw made sure he didn't step on any tails as he exited the apprentice's den. He was so used to greeting his eyes with the bright, shining day of dawn. Instead, it was dim. The sky was a stretched canvas of darkness, lit with pale silver pelt. Was Caramel up there? Maybe she was telling the Starclan cats some stories. The apprentice's gaze searched the sky. Deciding that the trees were getting in the way, he carefully climbed up the pine tree and rested gently on a low-hanging branch.

    Wasppaw of Skyclan

Wasppaw perked his ears, catching the sounds of a struggle not too far away. For a split second, he pictured a Bloodclanner having somehow snuck into the den to - Wasppaw squeezed his eyes shut, pushing that thought away. When he opened them, he did so just in time to see Littlepaw picking his way past him while heading for the den entrance. Wasppaw frowned, concern flashing in his eyes. Perhaps that 'struggle' he had heard was Littlepaw having a nightmare?
Wasppaw looked around at the slumbering den before getting to his feet and following Littlepaw's trail. He couldn't sleep anyway, so he might as well check up on his friend. Wasppaw knew what it was like, having such vivid night terrors... Greeted by the gentle light of silverpelt above, Wasppaw took a brief moment to bathe himself in the peace of the silvery night - in Starclan's watch- before turning his attention back to the earth below.
The quiet creak of nearby branches was enough to inform Wasppaw of where Littlepaw had wandered off to, and headed over in the direction. Coming to a pine tree, Wasppaw gazed up at it before recalling what had happened the last time he'd surprised the grey apprentice with a greeting. Making sure to stop his paws against the frost to inform the little male of his presence, Wasppaw called lightly at last, "Hey Littlepaw" he paused, the occurrence of perhaps Littlepaw needed a space popping into his head then. After a moment of hesitance, Wasppaw added, "Ah - sorry, I saw you leave and I thought maybe you could use a friend... I can - uh - go back to sleep, if you want peace..?" he said, flicking his tail sheepishly.
Still, he didn't regret coming. He needed to make sure Littlepaw was alright, and wouldn't leave until he was sure of it. After these...trying times...he didn't want to leave anyone to suffer on their own - that is, if he could help it.

  • He felt more comfortable being awake at night. During the day all he wanted was to curl up and sleep, but that wasn't the way his clanmates were, which left him half asleep on his paws all day. But every time he tried to sleep come night time, bam! wide awake. He tossed and turned in his nest, furless tummy exposed. He sighed. This wasn't working he needed to be up doing something. He flopped back over with a bored yawn. That's when he caught it, voices outside. Now who could that be? He stood, stretching, before padding silently outside the nursery, eyes wide open. He glanced up, noticing someone was in the tree. Was that Littlepaw, or Wasppaw? He came closer, silently. "What are you guys doing up?" He asked.

Briarkit was restless, unable to sleep, especially as she heard voices outside. She slipped out of the nursery, looking up at the dark, starry sky that stretched far over her head, disappearing behind the jagged, snowy peaks of the mountains far away. "Ma is up there," she noted quietly, searching each star. None of them shined brightly enough to be Snowbloom. "Are you up there, Hailkit?" Her brother was presumed to be dead. Never in her life had she felt so, so alone. She trotted up to Wasppaw's side, silently pressing into her brother's side, keeping back tears. She glanced up at him with watery eyes. "I miss Ma."

Mintkit wasn't usually one to go sneaking out in the middle of the night to look at all the stars. She had to save up all the energy she could for the next day where she could run jump and play all she wanted to. Not to mention the slight risk that came with sneaking out at night. She didn't want to be caught and scolded by her mother like she had been when she attempted to climb up to the leader, warriors and apprentices den. Everyone ridiculed her for being so mouse-brained and she didn't like it one bit.

The kitten was awoken by no means of her own, but when two kittens decided to sneak out of the nursery it was hard for her not to wake up and follow after them. Mintkit let out an angry grunt as she was awoken, blinking her sea green eyes very softly. She got to her paws and shook out her fur, tiny chunks of moss clinging to her pelt. As she watched Ravenkit and Briarkit go, the daughter of Thrushstar and Stonejaw quickly followed behind them.

"Wait!" She whispered, quickly bounding over to where the apprentices and two kits were. "You guys are going to get in trouble if you stay, our moms would want us asleep." Mintkit huffed, trying to keep her voice down.

  • Ravenkit glanced at her as she said that. "My mom's dead." He croaked. He just knew it in his heart. That's why she hadn't come looking for him. His yellow eyes glancing toward the stars. Would she be up there? Hopefully. At least you still have your mom... he wanted to say, but he didn't want to offend any of them. Of course, Wasppaw and his sisters recently lost their mom...

    [c]I Am The Doctor

  • every day's my lucky day!

!! - Stumpypaw had full faith in Starclan. He fully believed that he bright stars in the sky, the little pinpricks of light scattered around the black, he had no doubt that they were up there. His mother was up there, waiting for him, gleaming with utmost luminosity above. Starclan was so comforting to him, but at the same time, it provided as a scapegoat for when he had a bad day, which was almost every day, since his stunted legs left him, in vain, to attempt to hunt and climb like a regular Skyclanner.

At the end of the day, however, is when Stumpypaw found solace. He loved it when everyone got together and ate, stopping to commune and chat. It was great, really. And he tended to wander out the most, always leaving the camp in search of better adventure.

He noticed Littlepaw and Wasppaw, two of the cats he knew quite well, the others being either cats he had only encountered once, or not at all. That didn't stop the small apprentice from chiding in, however. Approaching them, he sighed as his troubles seemed to evaporate in the moonlight, bathing his brown fur in immaculate white. He felt at ease here, mainly because he was with fellow apprentices and kits. Yawning, he nodded before flopping down in the clearing. "Sorry, I'm just quite tired tonight.." He mewed, which was true. He didn't consider himself being rude, but made sure to keep his head up in case his dignity was being checked.
