  • “For the rest of the night.” she confirmed, looking at him for a moment before closing her eyes and moving with his hands, allowing him to guide her closer to his space-heater of a body, wrapping her arms around him loosely the second she was curled up tight under his arm. “It sounds so dramatic when I say that, until you realize that we’re probably both going to be asleep within in the next ten minutes.” she added after a moment, looking at him with a little snort, trying not to find it too amusing that they were both old and exhausted already even though they were still young.

At his little compliment she gave a giggle, rolling her eyes at his logic, because of course it sounded sexy coming from her when they were literally having s*x, though she just shifted herself down the bed a bit so her head could rest on his shoulder and she closed her eyes as well. His stupid little grumbles interrupted her attempts at falling asleep and she gave a half-hearted growl, grumbling something about ‘shutting the f*ck up Kit I swear to god now is not the time for sweet talking’ before settling back again, though she had a small smile across her face as she did. Maybe she liked his compliments more than she was willing to admit.

“I know, baby. I know. I’m sorry.” Heidi muttered as she bent down to look into her daughter’s big blue eyes- exactly like Hei’s, damn the man- massive waves of guilt washing over her. “I know I promised waffles, but I woke up too late and I couldn’t get them made. I’ll have them perfectly ready for you tonight though. With the chocolate, just like you like. Though you have to promise to go to sleep if I let you have them like that, okay?” she asked, looking at her girl for a moment, her heart breaking when her baby just gave a reluctant nod. Clearly she was pissed, if even the promise of waffles didn’t perk her up.

“And maybe we could play with some snow.” she added under her breath, looking around at the Northern California weather around them, knowing that it was dangerous. Sure, it got chilly, but there definitely wasn’t any snow around. Not that that was a problem when her little girl was apparently a human snow-blower. Something Hei DEFINITELY has to explain… she thought to herself before standing up and kissing Laura on the forehead, a smile on her face as she let go of the girl’s hand. “Now, go to class. You know how important school is…” she said, watching with a fond smile as the girl ran away.

Only when the little girl was out of sight did Heidi finally turn around and stuff her hands in her pockets as she shuffled towards the middle school, a bright red blush across her face. This is exactly why she and Kit had never slept with each other during the week before. She’d been so tired from creeping out of his place in the middle of the night in what was probably a walk of shame she would never get over that she’d slept through her first alarm, and ruined the traditional Thursday morning pick-me-up waffles that she’d always made for Laura. It was their tradition, and her being h*rny had gotten in the way. Never again. I’m a mother first, and THEN I can think about that stuff… she thought, though then she rounded the hill and saw Kit getting out of his car, and her traitorous heart starting to beat a little bit louder.

  • Kit wasn’t surprised to wake up to an wmoty bed, but he was sad. He had secretly hoped the shower, the warm sheets, and the cozy blankets would be enough to wrangle Heidi inti staying the night, but apparently it hadn’t been enough. The man trued not to take it to heart, though. He knew she had a daughter and he couldn’t be so selfish. He wanted to so badly, though. He wanted nothing more than to have her all to himself, at least for an entire day, if not a lifetime.

He sipped his coffee as he drove to the middle school. The brunette pulled into his usual parking spot and slipped out from his car. He pulled on his satchel that carried his laptop and grabbed his bookbag, closing his door a moment later. Kit turned to head into the school, but he paused when he saw Heidu clumbing the hill. As usual, his lips pulled into a smile and he couldn’t help but lift his free hand and wave at her. “Morning, beautiful...”

  • I’m pissed. Heidi reminded herself as she climbed up the hill, giving a little grumble as her brand new toms got all wet, though she ignored it for the sake of walking over to him and giving her usual morning grumble. Not that she usually saw him this early in the morning, that is- no, not at all. Actually, she usually made a point of only ever seeing him in the afternoons, because she was absolutely certain her heart couldn’t take it this early, and if the fact that she was fire truck red, and not from the hill, was any indication, she was quite right. I’m pissed, but not at him. I’m pissed at me. So you can be a little angry, but not that angry. she thought.

“My daughter hates me…” she ended up groaning when she finally reached his car, looking at him for a second before blushing and giving a little whine. “We’re never sleeping together during the week again. After getting back home, I ended up sleeping through my alarm and I didn’t wake up early enough to make her her Thursday waffles.” she explained dejectedly, clearly not mad at him, even though she had allowed herself to be, just the tiniest bit. Because he was so stinking attractive that it just wasn’t fair. And how the heck was she supposed to say no to him when he looked like that?

“She didn’t even smile at me when I promised her I’d make them tonight.” she finished softly, scuffing her brand-new shoes into the ground, mentally reprimanding herself for just a moment before moving on, refusing to get down on herself at the moment. “She hates me. This is it. She’s only five and she’s already going through that teenaged separation phase. I hate it.” she finished with a huff, crossing her arms over her chest as she walked into the school. "And hello to you, too." she finished after a second, looking at him with an embarrassed smile at the end because, sure, of course she'd be the jerk who would forget to say hello, too.

  • Although the situation sounded silly to any listener, Kit knew it was serious. He immediately felt guilty, his face and ears a deep red with embarrassment. He cursed u der his breath, watching her slight fit of anger, masked by the small fire stille lit from last night. He knew she wasn’t fussing at him necessarily, they had both enjoyed themselves, but he knew they couldn’t do it again. It saddened him because all he wanted was her all to himself every night, but now he’s f*ckes up any chance of that happening.

“I-I’m so sorry. I just couldn’t help myself,” he breathed with a soft chuckle. “It won’t happen again. I’m sorry about the waffles. You felt so cozy and warm and sleepy that i just fell asleep too...” he murmured lightly, looking up at her with innocent eyes as he rubbed his neck shyly. “Can you forgive me?”

  • “Don’t- Don’t give me that look, mister.” Heidi grumbled when she looked over at him, blushing even more when she saw how red and guilty he actually looked, even despite the innocent shine to his eyes. She looked at him for a moment before rolling her eyes and waving him off, unable to take him seriously. “You know it wasn’t your fault. I practically jumped into it. And of course I stayed for cuddling. That bed is amazing. And you’re not awful.” she added teasingly, almost like a side note, shooting him a little smirk before rolling her eyes. “I don’t forgive, because it’s not your fault.” she added, sobering up a tiny little bit at that.

“I just… I don’t know. It was never hard to put Laura first when it was just her and I, you know? But now that I sometimes want to put myself first… I just feel like I’m letting her down.” she admitted, knowing that this was not his problem at all, and that she was the guidance counselor, not him, but it was nice to talk to someone who at least was in a similar position as she was. “I can’t help but be a tiny bit bitter when I miss out on good things for her, but when I actually do the good things, I feel guilty and she always hates me for it. I don’t think I can win.” she finished softly, a little pout across her face. And, with that, she held her ID card against the door and opened up the door for him, shuffling the books in her arms around to make room.

  • “You know, putting yourself first isn’t the worst idea...” Kit murmured, biting his lip a moment later. “Of course, I only have little man on the weekends so, I guess I get to have more time. I’m probably not the best person to empathize here...” hemurmured softly as he slipped in the door after her. He gently held her elbow, directing her to his room with a smile. “Let me make you some coffee. I know that always cheers you up...” he murmured, looking down at her with fond eyes.

  • “I mean, you’re better than nothing…” Heidi grumbled almost defensively when she heard him passing off his ability to empathize, blushing as she did, because she knew a whole part of why she let herself get involved with him was his similar struggle. And if they didn’t actually have a similar struggle, then that meant that she was just plain into him, and she couldn’t be having that. That’d be unprofessional. Even if it is a little true… she thought before blushing even more, giving a little grumble of what was supposed to be thanks but just sounded like a mutter as she passed him.

At his offer, she blushed a little more, though she lifted her eyes to look over at him, a small smile stretching across her face. “Are you going to make me the one with all the whipped cream and sprinkles?” she asked after a moment, biting her lip to hold in her smile. “Because if you are, I’m going to absolutely have to refuse. I shouldn’t be eating as much sugar as I am. And even though it is delicious, I need to stop doing that sort of thing…” she muttered, though then his hand was on her elbow and she quieted, just looking at him instead and blushing a tiny bit more. “Maybe one wouldn’t hurt…” she finally whispered a second later when she saw the look he was giving her, trying to roll her eyes but actually just grinning as she walked past him and into his classroom.

  • Kit paused at her words, shooting her a trivial look. He looked her over briefly, then shot her a smile. “Why on earth are you worried about your sugar intake? I get that you’re already sweet snough, and all, but you really don’t have to worry about your body if that’s what you’re stressing over. You’re absolutely stunning either way, as far as I see.” With that, he walked around her and into his classroom to start on the coffee he always brewed for any teachers.

He hummed softly under his breath as he started to gather mugs. He bit his lip, then goamced over at her when she finally accepted his offer. “Oh, good. Those are my specialty. Regular coffee just isn’t as fun...” he teased, leaning back against the countertop as the coffee started to trickle into the pot.

Heidi looked up at him when he started to speak, her eyes finally leaving where his hand had fallen gently on her arm, his fingers holding her just tightly enough for the grip to be reassuring, but gently enough that she felt cradled more htna anything. God, he’s attractive… she thought distractedly as her eyes traveled up his shoulder and towards his eyes, her entire face burning bright red when she saw how close he was, how his eyes were already looking for hers, as if checking to make sure everything was okay. Sh*t… she thought, her mouth going dry as she remembered the last time he was this close. And then he backed me into a wall and we had s*x for the rest of the night… her mind added, that absolute traitor.

She tried to blink away those thoughts, because they were in schoo, dammit, and that was literally the most inappropriate thing she could be thinking about right now, but she only ended up staring at him as he spoke, only half taking in his words, her cheeks growing pinker as she did. Because if she wasn’t wrong, those were compliments. Real compliments, not hidden in the teasing gibes that they usually threw at each other. “Uh… Thanks?” she whispered when he finally pulled away, her voice little more than a whisper as she tried to speak from a mouth that had suddenly gone incredibly dry.

She stood there in the doorway for a few more seconds as she tried to recover from whatever he had just done to her, a luxury she only allowed because he was busy poking at the coffee machine, before giving a little grumble and pushing herself off the wall, moving over to one of the chairs close to him and slipping behind the desk with a laugh. “You know, Laura got into one of your “Sugar Extreme Lattes” once,” she recounted with a teasing little grin, trying to ignore the flickering in her stomach that still hadn’t gone away after his soft touches and genuine compliments. “She drank pretty much the whole thing before she realized it wasn’t a hot chocolate. I’m not saying that they’re too sweet, but don’t you think that’s a little telling? That my four year old actually enjoyed it?” she finished, her voice hitching a tiny bit at the end as he turned around and looked at her with those eyes again, but she ignored it. I’m probably just hormonal. I don’t know what is going on.

  • Kit smiled softly, humming as the coffee pot beeped and sounded for his attention. He grabbed the pit and poured two mugs, then he started on his sugary sweet concotions. He paused at her words though, smiling back at her over his shoulder. He lifted an eyebrow and turned to her conpletely, smiling the tiniest bit. “So, you don’t want me to make it that sweet? You want black coffee?” he asked, smiling.

  • “That is not what I said.” Heidi grumbled, looking at him for a long moment before giving a huff and crossing her arms over her chest, looking away with a sheepish little smile across her face. “That’s not what I said, was it? No. Make me the d*mn drink, Kit. I was promised a diabetes inducing coffee, and I want my diabetes inducing coffee. How else am I supposed to be able to get through a whole day of tweenage relationship counseling?” she asked with a little snort, standing up a moment later to walk over to him. She wasn’t exactly sure why, because the desk in front of her was the perfect thing to keep her from doing anything she’d regret to him while they were in his classroom, but sooner rather than later she found herself shoulder-to-shoulder with him, watching as he decorated the cups.

  • “That’s what I thought,” Kit murmured, shooting her a smirk and a playful look as she walked over to him. He continued whipping up his sugary beverages, finally adding the whilped cream and chocolate sprinkles to the top. He then grabbed a mug and handed it to her, a smile on his lips. “Happy Thursday,” he murmured softly.

  • “Don’t be smug, Kit. It’s a bad look on you…” Heidi grumbled, though she couldn’t help but laugh all the same. She looked at the drink for a moment when he presented it to her before reaching out and wiping her finger through the whipped cream, popping it into her mouth before looking up at him and grinning. “And happy Thursday to you, too, Mister __________.” she finished with a smirk, slowly taking the drink from him with a blush when she realized that she was not just flirting with him, but she’d also just done something pretty f*cking suggestive with the whole whipped cream charade that reminded her a little too much of how they’d ended up eating the desserts that she’d brought over the night before.

“I, uh… I should go?” she suggested after a moment, her cheeks still burning red as she glanced over at the little window of his classroom, praying that it was still early enough that none of his kids were at the door yet. “I bet you have a whole lot of planning left to do. And god only knows that I don’t need Missy to see me coming out of this room with you again. She saw the last time you made me coffee and she wouldn’t stop whining about me not telling her we were dating for a whole week. And don’t worry-“ she said with a snort as she thought about the nosy redheaded science teacher in the room right next to Kit’s. “I made it quite clear that we weren’t together. Wouldn’t have wanted you to miss your chance with such a babe.” she finished with a giggle, feeling a tiny bit mean but knowing it was true.

    FEI

    goddess of spring and fertility

“Rae…” Fei grumbled when she felt his lips against her neck, quickly lifting a hand from her keyboard to swat him away, though a little smile spread across her face at his persistence. She’d deny it to the end of the earth, of course, but he really was determined to distract her, apparently. When she felt him coming in for another kiss barely even ten seconds later, she gave a huff and turned around in the chair, looking at him with a raised eyebrow and a smirk across her face.

“Rae, I know that you came all the way here to find me, and I appreciated that, really. You also know that I like you a lot. But even though you found me, I enrolled for classes, and I have homework that I have to do. I’m writing a paper, and as much as I would love to jump right back into bed with you, because, trust me, I would…” she huffed, the last part more to herself as her eyes darkened for just a moment before she took a deep breath, stealing her resolve, and looked back at him again. “I can’t. This is due soon, babe. And unless you want to help me explain why the natives had it right to use pine needles as medicine because of their chemical properties, then you’re going to have to wait.”

  • Rae grumbled as she swatted him away, but he was persistent as always. When she finally turned around, he grinned playfully down at her, his chest glowing in the morning sun, his body covered in only his striped boxers. He lifted an eyebrow at her words, hoping he’d tempted her, but soon poited when he heard she was denying his attempts. He groaned and flopped down in the beanbag she had nearby, running his hands down his face. He ran a hand through his hair and shot her a playful smirk.

“I have no idea what the f*ck the Indiana were up to, but I so know it’s not healthy to stare at a screen for hours on end. You need a break. A study break. And you know what’s great to do on a study break? Something active...” he murmured, beaming by now. “And by that, I mean sex of course...”

  • “A study break. Really? That’s how you’re trying to get me to sleep with you?” Fei asked with a little smirk, crossing her arms over her chest and just raising an eyebrow in his direction, because god, that was stupid. But he was gorgeous, too, and after a second, her doubtful expression slipped away, and she instead bit her lower lip just slightly, her eyes moving from his to over his body. She knew he was beautiful- she wouldn’t sleep with just anyone, for gods sake- but him here, in her dorm room, with the sun, his sun running over him like that, making his skin glow gold and his hair even more golden… It was too much. He was too much.

“Not happening.” she muttered after a second, turning around in her chair quickly and quite abruptly, she knew, but she was losing the fight to those puppy dog eyes of his and the beautiful skin and the- get it together, Fei. You’re a mess…. She took a deep breath and put her hands on her keyboard again, trying to remember what she’d been writing, because she had had the perfect sentence, but then she got distracted by the hunk of man behind her and now it was gone. She gave a little huff, sitting back to think again, her brow crinkling in concentration as she fought against herself, trying to think of anything but the man behind her.

It was a failing fight though and, when he approached her again, because the gods only know that the man was persistent, and slowly started kissing her neck from the back, she groaned and turned around, narrowing her forest green eyes at him playfully. “I’m only doing this for a study break. After this, I go back to my paper, right?” she challenged, her fingers already starting to walk over his chest, greedily drinking in the feeling of his golden skin beneath her touch. “And only once. That’s it. Okay?” she added, refusing to move out of the chair until he agreed. Or at least thats what she told herself. Clearly her resolve was already on the losing end of most resolutions that morning.

  • Got her. Rae thoughta she watched her ryes trail over his body. He bit his lip, ready to catch her as she pounced, but then she was whirling back around and her wavy ponytail was the onlyview he had. He grumbled softly, rolling his eyes. He’d almost had her. He wouldn’t take no for an answer, though. The bronze god slowly lenaed down and began to pepper her nevk with slow kisses. He could feel ber squirming ever so slightly, and a grin turned the corners of his lips

up as she finally spun back around.

“A study break, right...” he murmured playfully. He hummed as her fingers crawled along his chest. His ha ds found her thighs and he gripped them gently, his eyes trailing lver that creamy skin he adored so much. At her question he glanced up, a wicked smile across his face. “Only once? Are you kidding? We’ve mever done it only one time...” he purred playfully.

  • “Don’t push it, Rae…” Fei grumbled teasingly, slowly moving to straddle him as he sat back on the bed, her hair spilling over her shoulder as strands jumped from her messy braid. She let her hands dance over his chest once more before she returned her eyes to his and just gave a throaty purr, his touch and his kisses already pulling her into that lusty zone she’d been trying to fight off for the past ten minutes of his teasing.

“If you don’t think you can handle just once, then maybe we shouldn’t even do it at all?” she added as her face slowly moved closer to his, her nose brushing against his as her eyes stayed on his the entire time. “I wouldn’t want to make this too tempting for you. I know that happens sometimes with me…” she continued with a playful boast, looking at him for one more moment before reaching forward and stealing a hungry kiss from his lips, only pulling away after a long moment, her body not even remotely satisfied with the limited touch.

“Please say you can handle it, sexy… I don’t want to stop.” she finished after a moment, letting her fingers go back to his chest, pleased that he hadn’t even bothered to put a shirt on. It made this whole process a whole lot easier on her end.
