As the sun climbed higher in the sky and fluffy white clouds stretched across the blue, Briarkit emerged from the nursery with a huff. She was so bored that it was almost physically painful. Perhaps it was time to liven things up. The other SkyClan cats were probably bored sitting in camp with nothing to do like her.

With a gleeful yowl, she launched herself at a fluffy mound of glistening white snow, sending it flying as she landed with a soft crunch. She burst into laughter, then she leaped to her paws again and bunched her muscles before springing into another pile of alabaster snow, giggling. This would be even more fun if someone else would come and play.

Wasppaw plodded into camp, struggling against the large drifts. Patrolling had been extremely difficult, what with the blanket of cold biting frost. It didnt help that, not only did his paw pads burn from the cold, but his long fur was matted with ice, making keeping warm nearly impossible.
However, his troubles went up in smoke when he returned to camp to spy his little sister, Briarkit, hopping along through the drifts. Immediately his chest filled with warm affection, and after getting permission from his patrol-mate, the apprentice trotted over to his sibling. He couldn't help but notice how her playing reminded him of the thunderclan munchkin, Minkkit, and their encounter when she'd gotten lost in four-trees. He wondered if the Shadowclan kit was alright...Hopefully Shadowclan had improved their caretaker skills.
Blinking out of his distracted thought, Wasppaw smiled down at his sister as he came over, paws crunching against the snow, "Having fun?" he asked with a light chuckle, already seeing his answer upon her beaming expression. As feisty and sharp-tongued as she was at times, Briarkit was still a sweet and adorable little kitten. Though the big brother was fretful about her catching a cold, he couldn't bring himself to ruin her fun and send her back into the nursery. Maybe the exercise would be enough to keep her warm?

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;width:350px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt][font=arial] the she-kit was woken up by briarkit's gleeful yowl. at first, the young tabby cat tried to go back to sleep but the round of giggles and laughter that followed told the girl there wouldn't be much quiet anytime soon. grumbling to herself, the child would abandon the warm nest and trudge towards the nursery entrance blinking the sleep out of her eyes. looking out from the warm safety of the den, adderkit's eyes would fall on briarkit as she frolics happily through the snow and her half-sibling wasppaw.

taking a seat near the wall, the tabby would watch the other kit bounce around. while it did look fun the snow was still too cold for adderkit's pleasing, especially so soon after leaving her nest. dark amber eyes track the briarkit's movements silently before flicking over to wasppaw. oh! he was covered in the freezing stuff, yet another reason why she was choosing to stay safely tucked away in the nursery she was good as bound to. "why you do you have to be so loud?" the she-kit inquires before making a poor attempt at suppressing a yawn.

Briarkit threw herself into a pile of snow, landing on her back and looking up at Wasppaw. "A lot of fun!" she chirped. "Wanna play with me?"

Adderkit came along. "Oh, sorry! It's just boring in camp," she apologised.

    Wasppaw of Skyclan

Wasppaw let out a little laugh at her response, warmed by her happy tone. Just like her, this leaf-bare was his first, seeing as he himself had been born during the warm summer months of Green-leaf. Looking up at the sky, he had to admit it wasn't as beautiful as the clear blues he grew up with, but even so, there was beauty even in these trying times, and that could easily be seen in every drifting flake of snow that the silver and white atmosphere produced.
Turning his gaze back to his sister, Wasppaw felt his chest expand suddenly with his own burst of kitten-like motivation. In response to her question, Wasppaw pulled a pawful of snow and dropped it playfully over Briarkit's head, his burning paws and cold belly completely forgotten as he chuckled, "I dont mean to be cold by giving you a brain-freeze there," he snickered, juvial joy in his expression.
Turning his eyes to Adderkit, the apprentice motioned her forward with a tilt of his head, "c'mon and play with us, Adderkit!" his eyes shone wickedly as he burst forth another cringe-worthy pun, "Promise im all bark and no frost-BITE" before bursting into soft laughter behind a raised paw. Yep, this apprentice was practically born for making dad jokes.

/Wasppaw is such a cinnamon roll oml

Leaf-bare, to Briarkit, wasn't so bad. She had a blanket of thick, soft fur all over and she got to play with the snow instead of hunting in it. And then there was a pile of snow on her head. She vigorously shook her head, sending little flakes flying. A giggle escaped the kitten's little maw. "Your jokes are the worst!" she teased playfully, cupping her paw and getting a big scoop of glistening snow before tossing it, aiming right at Wasppaw's face with narrowed olive eyes and a cheeky, toothy grin.

"Aw c'mon! I worked hard on those~" Wasppaw replied, winking playfully before he got a nose-full of ice particles. Sticking out his tongue through the mask of snow, the apprentice let out a loud cry, "Im BLIND!" Throwing his paws up, he made a big show of lifting himself onto his hind legs, hollering in his own quiet, just barely-above-indoor-voice way about how he'd never be able to see his sister's lovely face ever again, before aiming to throw himself on top of his tabby sibling.
Making sure to keeps his paws grounded and hold himself up just enough so he didn't crush his sibling, he smothered her in his chest fur and pinned her. Wiping the snow out of his eyes, he looked down at his little sister, "Say my jokes are good or im not getting up," he ordered in a fun-loving way, scooping up more snow and preparing to pile her with it if she didn't follow suit with his command.
Wasppaw, though shaking with the cold that seeping through his fur from the snow that now completely twined with his paws and belly fur, was having the best time of his life. He had always dreamed of playing with his little siblings like this since the moment Snowbloom announced she was pregnant. He was determined to be the greatest brother in all the clans, and he did hope he was doing a good job.

Briarkit burst into laughter as her brother struggled to see, barely able to contain herself, feeling her head almost pound as she laughed. Her laughing was soon muffled as her brother fell on top of her, and for a few heartbeats all she could see was cream fur.

She huffed, playfully rolling her eyes. "Fine, you win. Your jokes are good!" She forced the words out like a tough piece of fresh-kill. Then she stuck her tongue out, grimacing almost as though the words had a foul taste. She was having the time of her life as well. Who knew snow could be fun?

  • Sounds of playing woke him up. He blinked groggily. Why couldn't they be quiet and let him sleep? He stretched, the nursery was empty. Had he really slept that late?!? He shot up on his paws. What if their medicine cat had scheduled a little herb training session and he had missed it? undoubtedly.. XD He stumbled out of his nest and stood just inside the entrance gazing out, deciding against going out unless it was something important. It was cold out there anyway. Plus he still wasn't used to being surrounded by unknown cats, he still missed his abusive mother, Bianca.

  • [fancypost bgcolor= transparent; bordercolor= transparent; height:; width: 430px; font: 12pt times new roman; text-align: justify;]When he'd been a RiverClanner, snow had meant that the river was frozen over, and that they couldn't just fish for their food. Needless to say, Tatteredpelt hadn't enjoyed the snow since he was a kit and didn't have to worry about hunting. Watching Briarkit and Wasppaw play, he was reminded of that carefree time. Bending his head, Tattered let out a small chuff. If he kept up talking that way, he'd be in the elder's den before Wasppaw was a warrior.

Adderkit, huddled in the nursery entrance, eyes crusty with sleep, seemed more like him than Bri or Wasp. As the tabby kitten's siblings tussled in the snow, he picked his way toward her. "Not a big fan of the cold, Adderkit?" Lowering his voice, he added, "You and Briarkit should team up. Teach Wasppaw not to make bad jokes around you."

As he finished speaking, he glanced toward Raven, soundlessly questioning the dark kit as well. Raven wasn't of his blood, and he wasn't sure if that made it easier or harder to interact with him.

  • The larger tom frightened him. He shivered, backing up slightly, his shy side taking over immediately. Nevermind, I'll stay in here.. he wanted to choke out, but swallowed the words. He turned and curled up in his nest, his paws over his muzzle in an attempt to hide.
