  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]It was dawn and the sun was beginning to rise over the horizon, marking the beginning of the day. Bits of sunlight were illuminating the swamp, filtering in between the trees. For the most part it was still sort of eerie, lit by fireflies and quite dark under the shade of the branches and leaves. In the treetops birds were beginning to sing, their songs like a wake up call to those around them.

This particular girl was in no need of a wake up call. She'd been up just before the sun, wanting to get to RiverClan at the beginning of the day. That way she would have more than enough time to settle in with ease. If one were to be near the border they would see her, the girl's silhouette outline by the sun rising behind her. She approached the border slowly, being careful not to cross. Caia knew that RiverClan were a ProClan and rumoured to be quite friendly, but she still didn't think they'd take too kindly to trespassers.

Standing by the border, the girl's light grey eyes were sweeping over the land in front of her. Suddenly she wasn't just looking at a swamp. She was looking at a RiverClanner, one that was approaching her. Instantly a smile appeared on the cougar's maw, her lips turning up at the corners in a soft gesture. "Hello, I'm Caia Rhodes. I'd like to join."

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=;border:0px;width:450px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt]Well, that was a quick introduction. "Uh, welcome, homie." The leopard greeted. She gave her a quick head dip, then sat down and curled her tail over her delicate paws. "They call me Ron. Do you need anything, like a tour or food, or water?" The leopard was trying to be more interactive with those who join, but she was awkward trying to think of the right words.

  • [fancypost bordercolor=transparent; width: 400px][justify][size=8] Unfortunately for their livelihood, Fish could almost guarantee Riverclan would just get pissy over a malevolent trespasser, never someone who crossed accidentally. Oh no, everyone was far too sweet for that, though if that was their strength or their weakness, the male wasn't entirely sure.

"Welcome," the large panther said, large marbled frame appearing from the marshland shadows, a few pieces of cypress bark clinging to his golden fur from his last nap. It was nice to see joiners, even if he had grown a bit irritated with this place as a whole. He'd learned long ago feelings didn't go alongside obligations, and if he wanted to make it somewhere in life, he'd have to put on his big boy britches and get something done. "The name's Kingfisher, but I go by Fish. I hope you like it here. We have a lot of water and sh*t, just thought I'd throw that out there."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px][justify][size=9pt]He probably shouldn't of been wandering too far from the RiverClan camp, but Cass had been drawn out by following a firefly that'd desperately been trying to escape the skinner direhound pup. His paws had constantly been trying to outstretch themselves in an attempt to stomp down on the bug, its light having reflected partially in his eyes. Within his head, his imagination had gone above and beyond in thinking that if he was able to capture it within his paws he'd win something more than just cool. As he wandered along through the grasses and farther away from the more crowded areas — he'd been able to roll his shoulders back some more. While he was large for a canine, as his breed was just naturally huge — the boy wasn't big enough for his head to fully poke above the grasses. And so, to anyone who might've seen him approaching — he looked like some darker colored ball of fur moving through the more-wet territory. The son of Duncan and Kali hadn't really been watching where his paws were placed, having accidentally trekked through mud with a growing look of curiosity and excitement as he tried to pounce after the lit-up insect.

Yet, without warning — it'd disappeared. He was sitting back, truthfully lost — but Cassian refused to believe that he was. The scent of RiverClan was still strong, and for a while he considered looking for another firefly to follow. The sounds of the birds above took the attention of the easily-distracted last born of his litter. His head was tilting back, eying the foliage above. "Woah," Cass' smaller voice came out in an exhale of admiration. The sounds of a few speaking caused his head to tilt around, and without much warning to himself — his paws were taking leaps through the grass until he was able to skid to a messy stop besides two unfamiliar RiverClanners and someone... who didn't really smell like his home. She seemed friendly, though. Caia? Was that what she said her name was? His jaws were pressing together as he looked towards the male panther. "Yeah, we have... a lot of water — but I don't know about *." Oh, well. Cass obviously didn't know what that word meant. "We probably have a lot of that though, cus' he's right about the water... I know for sure." He was offering her a grin, one of someone still surrounded in his youth. His head was tilting to the side, looking over the supposed-newcomer with a look of skepticism. "My name's Cassian." He was giving her a slight nod of his head. And then, quick in a moment of mild confusion he was tilting towards Fish with a furrowing of his brows, speaking so that only the jaguar could hear. "What's *?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0; width: 428px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify; line-height: 12px; font-size: 8pt]"Hello Caia Rhodes!" I'd echo back, jokingly. For some reason, though, her name was really nice to say. Which meant, it flowed together really well... and this was extremely awkward, so maybe I should stop thinking about her name. Smiling at her in greeting, I'd dutifully take a seat. "I'm Trenchwarfare, or just Trey, welcome to Riverclan!"

Oh, geez. Kali was going to have Kingfisher's head. The witch approached on delicate paws now, coming to a stop next to her friend's pup. "It's the grown up word for poop." She would explain carefully, wanting him to know that it was off-limits. Soon, however, her gaze would shift to the newcomer. "Caia, huh? That's a pretty name. I'm Arabella Targaryen, but you can call me Bella."

Great, Fish was starting the young ones off with some bad words they probably didn't need to know yet. Refraining from scolding him, the slender beauty padded up beside her sister and settled down at Bells' side, her golden eyes watching the new female curiously. "Welcome to the clan! I'm Sylmae, deputy here. If you find yourself needing anything, please let me know." She said and dipped her head politely towards her, pointy ears flicking a little bit as she relaxed. She seemed nice enough, and that made Mae quite happy.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]The light grey eyes of the cougar had landed upon another large feline. Instead of a mountain lion like herself, she was met by the sight of a young leopard - dark bronze fur with black rosettes and, oddly enough, horns. But then again, Caia knew as well as the next person that mutations and odd appearances were everywhere these days. So Ron simply got given a soft smile and a nod of her head. Truth be told the young leopard didn't quite seem at ease, awkward even as she spoke, causing the mountain lion to decline her offer. "It's lovely to meet you Ron, but I'm alright, thank you." She wasn't trying to be rude and this Ron girl seemed nice enough, she just didn't seem to be quite comfortable with the idea of giving her a tour and fetching her food or water. Thankfully, someone else was asking for her attention.

Her head moving, Caia's focus was now on a jaguar. It seemed that big cats were all the rage around here. The male moving towards her had bits of bark stuck to his fur and briefly the feline wondered if he'd notice. Should she point it out? No. She didn't want to potentially embarrass a new clanmate within minutes of being accepted. Instead she listened, giving the male a flick of an ear as he said his name. Fish. He was a panther named Fish? "Well then, Fish, it's nice to meet you." A small smile played on her lips as she spoke, humurous but with no ill intent. As he spoke of 'water and shit', the cougar simply gave a shrug of her shoulders. "I sort of assumed that RiverClan would have some water somewhere, it really doesn't bother me much." Whilst not quite as aquatic as leopards, cougars generally had no issues with water and had been sighted swimming across lakes before. Caia was no exception - water didn't bother her.

Spying something moving through the grass, the light grey eyes of the puma moved from Fish, instead watching as a young canine appeared. The kid popped up and it didn't take Caia long at all to realise that he was incredibly young. Young enough that the girl didn't know if him running about by himself was a good idea. Yet he spoke with a grin, echoing Fish's words with his agreement. It was apparent that he didn't quite know what shit was. His youthful clueless attitude had a somewhat amused look turning up the corners of her mouth. By now the kid was looking at her somewhat skeptically, as if he wasn't quite sure of her. He introduced himself though and Caia shot him a smile. "It's great to meet you Cassian." Before she could say much more though, the pup was looking at Fish for an answer as to what shit was and Caia was raising her metaphorical eyebrows at the jaguar. Apparently Fish was a teacher of words that kids did not need to be using.

Her focus was drawn away from the situation shortly after, though. Now her grey eyes were landing upon another canine. This male was older and had mismatched eyes - an icy blue one and a brown one - which Caia couldn't help but think was pretty darn wicked, personally. In comparison her light eyes seemed bland. As the dog greeted her with a few joking words, the mountain lion shot him an amused grin. She liked people with a sense of humour. "It's a pleasure to meet you Trey," she opted for his nickname. "thank you for the welcome." Trenchwarfare seemed like a rather nice guy and the bubbly feline found herself liking him almost instantly.

Almost feeling sorry for shifting her attention so soon, Caia found herself now finding the figure of a domestic. The much smaller cat had bright green eyes and brown fur with small sections of white. At first she wasn't looking at Caia, instead dealing with the shit problem. Personally she admired the way that the unknown woman dealt with it. Her wording made it clear that it was a word the pup shouldn't be using, stressing the grown up part. As her emerald eyes met Caia's light grey ones the lion mountain smiled softly. "Not nearly as pretty as your own name. It's lovely to meet you, Bella." She meant it, too. Caia might be a unique name but Arabella was beautiful in the sense that it was feminine sounding and graceful. Plus she had the bonus of a nickname. She'd never bothered with nicknames herself, her own name being short enough as it was.

Finally her gaze was turning to the last of the RiverClanners that had come over to greet her. It was yet another canine. This one was different in the sense that she had angelic looking white wings with golden tips, small bits of black appearing through them. She seemed pretty relaxed and rather polite, something that Caia could respect. Not only this but as she introduced herself as Sylmae it was apparent that she was also the deputy. She was someone definitely deserving of respect. Bowing her head slightly to the smaller creature, Caia offered her the same small smile she had given to the others. "Thank you, it's a pleasure to meet you, Sylmae."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px; height: auto; font: normal 10pt arial; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px]Emilia was an early riser. It was a trait that she carried with her throughout her lifetimes, one that Arabella had certainly inherited. Not that that was a shock, though, because her daughter was so similar to her. "Welcome to RiverClan, Caia," the Lifeguard greeted, stopping amongst her Clanmates. "You have a beautiful name. I'm Emilia Resurgam, though you can call me Ellie. Do you need any help getting settled?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]A friendly voice and the sound of someone approaching had drawn Caia's attention away from Sylmae. Now instead of looking at a canine, she was looking at a much smaller domestic feline. The girl before her had white fur with orange and blue eye. She wore a necklace around her neck containing a rose gold gem and Caia didn't doubt that this girl was older than she was. Her soft smile turning into a gracious one upon receiving such a compliment, the girl spoke. "Thank you, I'd love to take credit for it, but the name is all my mother's doing." Was Caia a beautiful name? Two of the RiverClan girls seemed to think so. Personally the mountain lion couldn't help but prefer their names. Arabella. Emilia. They were feminine and graceful names, nothing like that of her own. But then again nothing fit her quite like her own name did.

"It's lovely to meet you, Ellie," without needing to think about it much Caia knew she liked this girl. "and thank you, but I think I'll be right." She didn't have a very good reason for declining the offer. She wasn't anti-social or anything, she just simply didn't want to be a bother. Especially not to people who so far had gone out of their way to make her feel welcome. She liked this place and the people in it already.

[justify]( dear God this is awkward I didn't know there was another Emilia in RiverClan oh my )

The canine trotted over, excited at the prospect of meeting a new joiner but finding herself not knowing what to say once she arrived on the scene. She came to halt beside Cassian, remaining beside her brother as she looked around at the gathered individuals. Her ears pricked at she listened to a particular female introduce herself - as Emilia. Oh. Her ears then flattened - would she be angry that there was some random pup that had stolen her name? She couldn't say anything now, she didn't want the other female to not like her. Sitting down beside Cassian, the multi-colored direhound awkwardly shuffled her paws as the others interacted around her.
