This rp takes place a few hundred years ago in the Kingdom of Ronan. Alec James Stone is 19 years old and he is already very high up in the kingsguard. Alec is basically a step down from the captain of the guard, which is surprising for someone of his age. He's sort of mysterious and nobody knows about his past. Anyway, your character is the princess, and she isn't exactly...the most behaving princess. She tends to go out into the town a lot without getting permission or protection, she sneaks out at night, and is not afraid to get into fights with others. She basically does anything that could cause trouble. She's adventurous and sometimes reckless. Her father, the king, knows this so he orders Alec to basically be her babysitter.

Neither the princess nor Alec are too happy about this. In fact, they almost despise each other. But nevertheless, Alec does as he's told. However, Alec ends up learning a huge secret about the princess, after she sneaks out one night (and it's totally up to you what the secret is. Maybe she's an assassin, or has powers, or anything you prefer). Alec realizes there's more to the princess than he thought and the two build a friendship, that eventually turns into a romance. But Alec is just a Kingsguard, and she's a princess. The world is against them being together. Especially when the king arranges a marriage with a prince, and then an attack on the kingdom occurs. How will the two save their romance?

    This is my character, Alec.

Please post a picture of your character, and please try to be active. Also, I would prefer it if you could at least write two good sentences per post. And please let me know if you have any questions and feel free to suggest any ideas that you may have. I think that's it, thanks!

  • I'll go ahead and start if that's okay? we can start from when she sneaks out one night? ok lol let's do this!

Alec hated the winter. It was far too cold outside. He would rather be inside the walls of the warm castle with the other members of the Kingsguard than outside freezing his toes off. But he didn't complain, there was no point. He had to follow Captain Andre's orders and make his rounds of the castle's perimeter, while also checking on the other guards that were posted outside. Another one of the many responsibilities of being second-in-command of the Kingsguard. Captain Andre said it was part of the new security measures, and that's all he would say about it. Alec wondered why the Captain would bother with such protective measures when the Kingsguard and the castle's walls were basically impenetrable. Who were they trying to keep out?

After checking on the few guards posted outside the side entrance, Alec started to make his way towards the back of the castle. Alec shivered a little beneath his light, black armor. He could feel the chilly air within his bones. But it was the only thing keeping him standing so late in the night. He told himself his movement would keep him warm, and he continued walking. In that moment, he wanted nothing more than a nice, warm cup of tea. But he knew that his shift wouldn't be over for hours. Alec then let out a long breath before glancing up at the full moon in the night sky. His body ached for some action. Something to get his heart racing and his blood pumping. He needed something to release his mind from its present state of boredom.

  • Yep thats quite alright ~

Her breaths came in short, quick bursts, her body demanding further oxygen as she tried to keep her pace. She hadn't exactly stole it, she was the Princess, so really it was paid for by her father, and it was only a crown of flowers.
She felt the cold sweep up under her stress, which only made her more aware of how tired her legs and arms had become, yet, she chanced a look over her shoulder, and when her head turned around again to refocus on the path ahead of her, there was a dark shape. She couldn't slow down, thus, she crashed right into the man in armour. She didn't stay to figure out who it was, just scrambled off of them while casting a "Sorry!" back their way, a man following suit very quickly, shouting at her.
Of course, it had been evident it was the Princess, her white hair was hard to mistake, and there weren't many aside from her mother who shared the same frosted locks and snowy skin. Not to mention the fact they were in trouble, and fleeing from it. That was also unfortunately quite typical of this next heir to the throne, which was also a scary thought.

  • I forgot to ask, what's her name?

IC: Alec heard footsteps coming towards him. As he turned around he felt someone crash into him. It all happened so fast. All Alec saw was a flash of white hair as the person scrambled away. It was the princess of course. And she was in quite a hurry to get away. She isn't supposed to be out here, she was obviously causing trouble. Fantastic. Alec knew he had to go after her. "Princess!" he called as he started to run.

  • Oh right ! Sorry, I should've said :'D Her name is Keagan ~
Keagan's heart pounded wildly, but she had a huge smile across her face. There was nothing more thrilling than the adrenaline that thickened in her veins, she loved the chase, and perhaps that was why she got herself into trouble so often. Hearing Princess get shouted from behind she did turn her head, and frowned seeing one of the guards having given up. She guessed her games were over... She sighed, but did slow to a stop, the shopkeeper catching up and he just snatched the flowercrown from her head before he stormed off to the side. Keagan stuck her tongue out at him in retaliation, but did look at the Guard.
"Can't I stay out for just- Oh, it's you." Her face went from pleading to rather cynical, just from noticing that the guard that had followed her was Alec.
"Well I will save you the trouble and walk home myself, you needn't follow." She said as she brushed herself off and started towards the castle. She wouldn't return home, even if she said she was, she was just using it to get him to go away. She enjoyed having fun, but he like every other Guard would have that sullied. Why? Because it was dangerous, according to them anyways... She was still alive, sure there had been some close calls but that was just how life worked! She could stand up for herself, and she didn't need Guards watching her every move 24/7.

  • Alec watched as the shopkeeper snatched the crown away and left. He was right, she was causing trouble and this was all like a game to her. He slowed down when he caught up to her. He met her gaze. Why can't she be like a normal princess and just stay home and behave? He watched her as she started to leave. "And how do I know that you will actually return home?" he asked slightly raising an eyebrow. It's like he knew her too well. Alec started after her, "I would rather follow you home myself. You know, just to make sure you got there safely." Yeah right, more like make sure she didn't run off.

  • Keagan face turned from triumphant to annoyed, looking at him. Really? She just shook her head and looked away, staring ahead of herself. It was however evident that she was wearing no shoes, her feet sinking into the snow that gently powdered the once green grass, but she didn't seem bothered by it, her feet rosy on the bottom, before she just jumped over an old, rotting log.
"Can't trust your Princess?" She questioned as she peered back at him, but her gaze did narrow in the slightly, an analytical way that almost seemed like she was trying to find weak spots.
"Oh really? Safely, of course.." She grumbled, but did mock his voice a little bit. She did however just keep towards the Castle. Maybe she could fool him.. guards weren't always the most intelligent. She would go in, and then sneak right back out! Granted that required not being found by her father, but it was possible.

I'm heading off to bed now, so I'll reply when I get up !

  • Alec stepped over the log and ignored her gaze. He knew she liked to analyze people, especially the guards in order to get her way. But this would not be one of those times. Alec knew she was a curious girl, and a clever one at that. But he could be clever too. He would have to be if he wanted to stay a step ahead of her. That's where most guards fail when it comes to watching over the princess. They aren't as smart as her. But there is a reason why Alec is where he is, in means of rank. He glanced down at her feet, and then back up at her. He shook his head, here she was barefoot ans trumping around in the snow. She was certainly not a conventional princess at all. "Yes. And you must return home before your feet go numb and you catch frostbite," said Alec.

  • Keagan frowned when he brought up her bare feet, honestly they had gone numb some time ago, she just hadn't noticed from the amount of running she had been doing. And she didn't really like wearing shoes- it just... made her feel- weird, to have to wear them. It didn't feel right, was the best way she could describe it, but she did keep moving forwards. Even the bottom of her dress seemed soaked and frozen in some places, but it was on the longer side. Many people were surprised she even still wore dresses, and that was because despite how often she disobeyed her father, she still did love him, and wouldn't do everything she could to make his life miserable. If it was enough to keep him just on the verge, she'd wear a dress everyday.
"Surprised you haven't frozen, hunk of metal." She grumbled. Sometimes she wondered how the guards didn't freeze, but it really wasn't any of her concern in the end. Nor did she entirely care all that much.

  • They weren't too far from the castle now. Alec glanced back at the princess, she was very peculiar. Why does she insist on disobeying so much? He thought she would've given up by now. But no, she's rebellious. A quality that he's never seen son strongly in a princess before. Alec glanced down at his armor and then back up at her. "I'm a lot warmer than you are," was all he said. He wasn't in all metal in fact. Just a few metal plates here and there to protect his vital organs. On cold patrol nights like these he goes out in light armor while wearing more clothes underneath. Alec glanced at the Princess, she had to have been cold. If she wasn't feeling it now, then that wasn't not a good sign either.

  • "If you stare at me for any longer someone might think you like me." Keagan said in an aggitated voice, but she did continue walking. She wasn't shivering, either. So perhaps she was worse off than she thought, but she didn't feel or look tired, not mentally. She did feel it physically but that was to due all the runnin she had been doing- on top of the shouting. But she did stay just a few steps ahead of Alec, better that way. She did however let out a slow breath, slowing considerably but she was just relaxing. She didnt understand why none of them wanted to have fun.. to live life a little bit. Sitting up there in her castle wasn't fun, sure she was alive but she really had no chance of living there! Really living.

  • Alec rolled his eyes slightly, "I'm not staring out you because I like you, in the way that you're implying. I'm actually afraid you're going to fall down because your body is exhausted," he said almost nonchalantly. He didn't know how long she was out here in the freezing cold, but the fact that her feet were numb and she couldn't feel the cold anymore made him nervous. Her body was probably working overtime to keep her going. "All I care about is getting you back to the castle, Princess."

  • Keagan rolled her eyes. "I'm fine." She grumbled in response, but she did keep walking forwards. She did glance back at him when he called her Princess, a twinge in her heart making her pause, but when she started to walk forward again, she wobbled. She fell over, landing in the powdery snow. Everything had moved so slowly she honestly though she was still moving before her vision went blank, and she lay stilly on the ground. He was the only one around, but she was at least light if it had to come to her carrying her.

  • "You say that now, Princess." Alec thought about giving her his cloak. She needed it more then him, but he also knew she was stubborn. Next thing he knew she was falling, and he cursed under his breath. He hurried to her but he wasn't able to catch her. He was afraid of this, he knew she wasn't well. Alec knelt down beside her, "Princess Keagan," he spoke her name urgently but not really expecting a response. His fingertips grazed her skin, she was ice cold. Alec frowned, now getting a little worried. He took off his black cloak and wrapped it around her, trying to keep her warm any way possible. He then gently picked her up and cradled her in his arms. She wasn't very heavy at all. Alec glanced up at the castle. It was a couple hundred yards away, he would have to hurry.

The wind picked up some, making it tricky for Alec to trudge through the snow. He was almost there and eventually the other guards would see him. He glanced down at the unconscious girl in his arms, "You're going to be alright, Princess. Just hold on," he spoke softly. Her skin was cold and white, almost as white as the snow. Her father is going to freak. Why did she have to be so reckless? Alec sighed. Doesn't matter anymore. Alec was about to reach the castle walls when he spotted some figures heading his way. It was the kingsguard. "Alec! What happened?" one called. "The princess may have hypothermia. Her body is freezing, we need to get her warm as soon as possible," he told them. They nodded and one disappeared towards the castle. "We'll take her for you, sir." Alec shook his head, "No, I got her."

  • Keagan felt her body go from heavy to near weightlessness, was she being carried? She could only hear faint voices, and the soft pumping of her heart that echoed throughout her body. It wasn't long after that she felt herself bounce in someones arms. His? Surely not... No, it probably was him... She was the Princess, whatever his hatred was towards her it was his duty to the Kingdom to keep her safe. Still... She just tried to refocus on.. waking up, but she couldn't.

When she heard the familiar sound of the hefty wooden doors being drawn open, she knew she was back at the castle, and then she heard multiple voices. Why was Alec's clearest? She just breathed in and out slowly, but soon she felt the heat of a fire. The sensation of fingertips on her skin, probably the healer they had, her eyes slowly opening as her core temperature rose, and her eyes were no longer frozen shut. Her father stood over to the side, or rather paced over at the side, walking back and forth, he seemed to be talking to Alec however, his voice too quiet for her to hear.

  • "You found her wandering outside the castle again?" asked the King. It was no surprise to him. She does this all of the time. Alec nodded, "Yes, sir. I found her and was escorting her back here when she collapsed. I am sorry, Your Majesty. I wish I could've gotten here sooner," said Alec quietly. The king glanced over at his daughter, thinking she was still asleep. "No, you did your best. The healer said you got her here in enough time, so she is going to be alright. Thank you." Alec nodded, "Just protecting the Crown as always, Your Majesty," he said humbly. No matter how much trouble she likes to cause. The King walked over to the fireplace and sighed, "I'll have to increase security once again." The King sounded tired. He didn't understand why his daughter always wanted to leave and disobey. "Yes sir, I'll speak with Captain Andre about new measures," Alec spoke.

The King thought for a moment before speaking. "I would like you to be my daughter's personal bodyguard." Alec stood there and just blinked. The King continued, "You were able to find her when no one else could and you brought her back to me. She needs someone to watch over her, and I don't want anyone else." Alec glanced over at the Princess. Her personal bodyguard? He wondered how she would feel about this. She would hate it. But then again, Alec assumed her feelings along with his didn't matter. Either way, Alec knew being the Princess's bodyguard was going to be a challenge, with her rebellious tendencies and all. He met the King's eyes. It's not like he could say no to the King's proposal. Alec bowed a little, "Yes, Your Majesty. It would be an honor and I will protect the Princess with my life."

  • Keagan had heard personal guard and when she saw Alec bow? She sat upright as quickly as she could manage without causing herself an insurmountable amount of pain. "I do not need a personal guard!" She shouted, only to cough quietly and she stared at her father. "You do not want me to rebel, yet you continuously force more guards! You tell people it is to protect them, to keep others out, but you are just trying to keep me in!" She said angrily, forcing herself to her feet but she held desperately onto the fireplace to keep her balance.

"Father please rethink this. What would mother have said?" She was a lot like her mother, mentally and physically. Her mother was no longer around, but she too had loved adventure. They used to have a huge garden out back, where her mother would roam for hours on end with her father at her side. "Why can't you just trust that I'm going to be okay?" She had tears in her eyes, but she had started shaking, which luckily meant she was getting better, even if her dress was now soaked. "And fine.. if you really want me to be protected, assign anyone but him." She said seriously, but she knew her father wouldn't listen, and she just turned, stumbling past several maids who tried to stop her before she ran to her bedroom, the sound of a door slamming evident shortly after her escape.
