  • Ren is a dragon, thought to be the last of his kind. For years the royals have sent armies after the dragons to kill them, to rid the world of them as well as the dragon riders. Two years ago, Ren was born out of an egg that was thought to be fossilized. At this same time period, a girl, a rider, reached her sixteenth birthday. This girl is a servant in the royal castle and heard a knight speaking of murdering the last dragon. She followed him to save said dragon. This is where the story picks up. Your charrie is the rider so please make a form and post it below and then you can post.

    Ren
As the young dragon settled in his bed after a long journey he heard the crack of charred bones underneath him. His long wings reached out in a halfhearted stretch when his eyes shut. A peculiar sound to his left woke the beast from his slumber, the steady steps of a two legged creature. Opening one of his yellow eyes he spotted another one of the creatures that bothered him so often. It was a man this time, larger than the previous ones with a metal covering. He wielded a sharp silver object and was attempting to sneak up on the beast. Ren chuckled to himself at the poor man's attempt and in a single gust of the dragon's fire breath, nothing was left except a charred skull and some barely recognizable bones. Grumbling at the interruption to his nap, Ren rose from his position on the ground and flapped his large black and red wings twice before rising into the air. He knew that dragons used to be numerous in the lands, his mother used to tell him the tales of the days when dragons ruled the world when he was merely a hatchling. He ached to see another scaly face once more but he knew that after his death there would be no more. The dragons were almost gone.

HAve you ever done something so stupid- that you just had to sit back and wonder, Why you thought this was a good idea? Well. That was basically what Stevie thought threw every, Single, Day of her life. It wasn't her fault really! Her curiosity was like a sirens call. Always beckoning her into dangerous waters that had she not been blinded by her nature, She would have easily realized she was close to drowning. Today was perhaps was the deepest she had gone- Echos in the castle, Stories spread by servants of wonderful serpent creatures, Dragons! Had reached her ears. Then.. A knights telling of the future, Where he would bring back the head of such a animal. How could she not follow? For seeing a beast like that living was so much better then seeing it with its head on a pike!

Fast forward- And here she was. Her small form pressed up against a cliffs face, Behind her. A wall. In front of her, A drop all the way to the forest floor below. Her only safety was the trail dozens of men had hiked to face the dragon.. While all had gone up- No one had gone down. Unless it was to drop off to the deaths below. It caused Stevie to briefly wonder, Exactly how many bodies rested on the forest below. Did animals sit and wait for those dumb enough to climb to fall? A easy meal. Or were they all scatters far from here, Away from the dreadful dragon. Stevie chewed on the inside of her cheek as she thought.. Until a noise brought her back into reality. The knight, She could hear him moving ahead of her. Slipping into the cave. Stevie had made certain to stay a little far behind, That way he wouldn't spot her. A smile slipped onto her face though as she witnessed where he was entering. The dragon!

She swiftly began moving until she was silently peering into the cave. A little slower then she would have liked- Her shoes weren't exactly made for this terrain and she was very sure she had ruined them. But that was a small price to pay to see a dragon up close... Sadly, The girls joy turned to terror. For in seconds all she could see was fire in the cave. The knight engulfed in such. Stevie nearly let out a scream of alarm. Her hands quickly cupped her mouth as the knight vanished in the flames. Only to appear a few moments later.. A pile of armor, Bones and ash. Stevie stared at the seen silently. Peering into the darkness which her eyes began to adjust to.. And then she saw it. A large pile of scales and horns. Stevie was frozen up. Staring at the beast, Her heart was beating so fast she thought at first the animal might have heard her. But her fear was quickly turning to rage- He killed the knight! Couldn't he have just disarmed him or something! -Okay. Really. The knight had been coming to slay him. But Stevie was still mad and tended to do rash things when she was angry. In a second the small girl was bolting forward- No sneakiness. No planning. Just running. She was moving towards the pile of bones. Ready to snatch up the knights sword and challenge this beast. But as soon as she touched the pommel of the blade.- Well she yelped and jumped back, Falling right upon her behind. The blade was still burning hot! Clutching her hand. Oww... That was when she realized, She was right in front of the dragon. She'd just tried to pick up a blade on it! Her gaze flickered up. Terror once more returned to her. Silently scolding herself for stupidity of racing forward. It took a few moments before she spoke to the beast in front of her. And then, The words weren't really much to defend her case.
    "Well... This is awkward."

  • The red hot fire that had just erupted from the dragon's body left his scales glowing red. He was so distracted by the knight that he had failed to realize the other human until she clumsily dropped a sword directly in front of his jaws. What a foolish act! This human was definently not a knight of the royal army. she looked Ren smirked in response to the bravery of the young two legged girl. This awful smirk seemed more like a grimace and appeared quite threatening to somebody unaccustomed to dragons. With his teeth bared he let out a throaty chuckle, "And who are you, little girl?" While speaking he was thinking of whether to kill this girl or send her back to her home, only slightly scorched. This contemplation left him slightly frustrated, normally he would simply burn them to a crisp and they would never leave his lair alive.

Never had Stevie gone so pale, So fast as when that dragon spoke. She hadn't realized they were capable of such a thing.. But hearing his voice, It terrified her. She stared forward at his large snout, Where terrible teeth showed that could break her in half with a single bite. She could feel his breath on her, Still warm from the flames that had been launched just seconds ago. He was asking her name? What did she say? Something scary, Yeah! Make him back off! Claim she was a knight or something! That could slit his throat! That would scare him! "..Uh-Uh.. I-I'm Stevie-Er.. Maid of the kings royal estate?" She found herself saying. Great job Stevie, That was totally going to impress him. -That wasn't to say she had no name to throw around. Her family was actually fairly rich- It was considered a high rank by some to be a maid of the king. The closer you were to him, The higher the name. -She scrubbed floors mostly- Of the royal families room! Yeah-...Huh. Honestly, That didn't sound as cool as she'd like it too. "Mr. Dragon, I promise I had no intent to bring you harm.. I-I simply was curious." She began. She really wanted to avoid that whole scorching thing.

  • Ren's large eyes widened further when he saw that the girl could understand him. He had spoke to the the humans before but nobody had understood his language. Giddy with the fact that he was no longer alone in the world, Ren decided to further the conversation instead of killing the girl. He spoke once more with a playful tone to his deep voice, You meant no harm but yet attempted to wield a sword at me, Stevie? That seems rather an odd way of meeting somebody. Do you often strike the king and queen with a sword when saying hello? The dragon stood from his perch and inched closer to the girl until they were merely inches apart. He studied her, he had heard of the dragon riders, they had always been able to understand the dragon speech according to his mother. Perhaps this was one, he thought that they were all gone as well, like the rest of the dragons. His long ridged tail swept from side to side like that of a dog when it is happy as he waited for a reply from this mysterious girl.

Stevie was completely tensed up as he continued to speak, Oh.. She was so getting eaten. Carefully she began. "N-No. I was simply frightened because of.." Her gaze drifted down to the charred bones on the ground and then back up to him. "But- I did once whack my brother in the head with a bit of wood, IF that counts for anything." Stevie began.-Her brother had deserved it though. Not that he was doing anything wrong. She just felt the urge to whack him on the head. Wasn't her fault! The large animal was then on his feet. Coming closer to her, Stevie quickly moved to crawl a little bit back. But found her own back was quickly against the wall. Trapping her there with the dragon. She then Murmured. "Please do not eat me, Mr. Dragon. I will not speak of this to any one and pretend I was never here if you let me go." She murmured. The beast was on his feet. She could just imagine it launching at her. Or simply snapping his jaws and killing her. His tailed waved- But Stevie truly did not understand the manners of dragons. For his tail could have been waving in joy like a dog, But to her. She felt it was probable more like a cat in annoyance.

  • Ren sensed that the girl was afraid of him and for the first time in his life he wanted to human to stay. The dragon felt himself beginning to have a soft spot for the girl called Stevie. He steadied his tail when he saw her look at it. He wanted to make himself seem less threatening but he had no idea how. He spoke with a deep tone that rumbled the cave, "You need not be afraid, Stevie. I will not hurt you. Would you stay longer? I haven't spoken to anybody since I was a mere hatchling." He backed up a few inches to allow the girl to have a bit more room. She seemed terrified and being close to his large teeth did nothing to help her believe that he wouldn't hurt her.
