Many experiments are currently being preformed in a private lab. No one really knows where this lab is located, but rumors are it is said to be hidden away in the mountains. These experiments are currently being conducted on volunteers only. These volunteers are said to be those who are terminally sick with only a short time to live. That's all that we have received at this time. ▲ November 22, 2025 The lab has decided to make it known that after multiple tried experiments, they believe they are on the verge of a break through! The head scientist, Mr. Nicholas Virchie, has stated that "within a matter of years, we won't have to worry about illnesses or disabilities". He believes his work will change the world and help all those who suffer. ☢ July 16, 2027 After complete silence from the lab, stories of what goes on inside have begun to leak out. None of the rumors are pretty. However, one sticks out among all of them. It is said that those who were subjected to failed experiments and survived are being held away in hopes to return them to their normal selves. ☣ December 15, 2027 A distress call has been released from the lab to the government. It has not been told why the call was sent out, or what it is for, but all of humanity is on edge as they await answers. There has been no update on the experiments or "cure-all", and no one from the lab has spoken of them. The scientists' families have all seemed to clam up as well, claiming to know nothing. ☣ March 3, 2028 Sightings of strange creatures have been released to the public! Citizens all over have claimed to see creatures that walk, and resemble humans, but act wild and vicious. Some claim that these sightings are simply tricks and attentions for fame, while others have begun to take them seriously. Are they simple tricks, or a threat to be taken seriously? ☠ March 17, 2029 The end of humanity seems to be upon us. They call is the Cringe, and it seems to be spreading at a rapid pace. No one knows how to stop it, and soon there will be nothing left. There are more rumors of cure, possibly left by the deceased scientists, but that means searching for a lab that no one knows for sure if it exists. Very little information was given about what they were doing to advance this idea, but rumors suggest experiments on those who were doomed to die. Everything seemed to be going well, and what the scientists did release were all positive advancements. But it only took one. One poor soul, one failed experiment, one escape, one bite. It was near midnight when one of the failed experiments escaped its holding cell. It's only instinct at this point was to survive and its nature was purely wild. There was no returning to normal now. There was alarm, but amazement from the scientists, and they began to study this new form of life. Doing so sealed their own fates, as well as all of humanity. Due to its wild, animal instincts, the failed experiment waited until it sensed that its prey was relaxed and unaware of the dangers that lay before it. That's when it lashed out, delivering a bite to any scientist near it. It was quickly detained at that point but the bite still remained. The change began, taking on the name of "The Fever". It only took one to infect more, and soon it was out of control. Due to the lack of knowledge about these creatures, there was no sure way to destroy them. Many attempts were taken, and many innocent lives were claimed. The lab was taken over, and the failed experiments took to any towns and cities they could find. They later took on the name "Cringe", and soon their numbers grew too large to fully wipe them away. However, the rumor of the lab is still very much alive, and you want to try and find it. That cure could mean the end of having to constantly look over you shoulder. It could mean a near normal life again, and humanity would get a chance to survive once more. But you have to be able to find it. Will you form a group, or remain alone?
