it was almost reminiscent of a certain night that had changed her life forever. she was hot and angry, charging into bloodclan territory with her usual confidence, hips swaying and gray eyes narrowed. she was a huntress on the prowl, but her prey wouldn't be killed.

alice, oh alice, i'm coming for you sweetie... she prayed the medicine cat was still in good health. she'd made her decision, to find dee. she'd beg him, plead with him. try to make him see reason, offer to trade her life for her friends. she had all of the felines knowledge, and the added addition of being a willing punching bag. she wouldn't feel it, after all.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; color=white; font-family: trebuchet ms; width: 350px;][justify]fortunately for palemoon, she wouldn't have to go far to find the bloodclan deputy. he was lazing about in one of the fire escapes, despite how cold it was, pale blue eyes half-closed. as she approached, he lifted his head, suddenly alert. she seemed to be in a panic. dee frowned, trying to determine what was up. alice never even crossed his mind, as he had no idea the two were good friends.

the broad-shouldered black tom leaped down neatly from his perch, head tilted, a slight glint in his eyes. "something the matter, love?" he asked, and looked her carefully up and down. "you seem to be in a bit of a rush."

as the deputy seemingly materialized before her, palemoon turned her pale glare to meet his own icy gaze, flicking an ear. any other time, and she might have returned the moon, the flirtation, pulled at the strings of seduction. but she was a woman on a mission, not to be deterred by some handsome deputy with a charming smile.

"i want her back dee." she said, tone firm, squaring her shoulders. she was still smaller than the tom, albeit the same height, posessing a thinner frame. "i left riverclan, i'm in thunderclan now, but alice is still my best friend. i'd still die for her. so give her back, i'll even trade. shockingly enough, there's quite a few people that might miss me. or just turn me into some sort of slave. i don't care, so long as alice isn't hurt."

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; color=white; font-family: trebuchet ms; width: 350px;][justify]oh, this was certainly interesting, wasn't it? dee pressed his lips together, allowing the new information to flood over him. so, his sister was good friends with someone he'd slept with...or so it seemed. he couldn't help but wonder if the two had made the connection. if they had, he wished he'd been there for it. it certainly would've been amusing.

"my sister?" the deputy said with a snort. "i had no idea you two were so close." he tilted his head and smiled faintly. "as tempting as it would be to have you serve me, i can't accept your request. we need alice to help train spear. she knows how to heal wounds, but in the middle of leaf-bare, she needs to know how to fix the common cold. not to mention i'd lose my position as deputy if i just handed her over to you." he paused, a faint flicker of sympathy in his frosty gaze. his tone was calm and gentle as he continued. "she's unharmed. trust me, if anyone hurt her, i'd personally tear out their eyes."

the feline felt her jaw tense as she eyed the tom, trying not to show her shock. sister? it certainly wasn't... far fetched. upon closer inspection, the tom did resemble her best friend in his own way. but the thought of him willingly having the fem as a prisoner made her sick. but what could she do? time had disintegrated the best of her connections, and she had no army to gather.

"who's care is she under? who has access to her?" she demanded, beginning to circle him, not in a threatening way but because she needed to pace and was unwilling to lose sight of him, sight of whether or not he was telling the truth.

"sheogorath can't... be near her. you and i both no that our son isn't the best of the cats." she said, a sigh escaping her lips. "you know, when he was small, he used to bring me frog eyes. i... i should have seen, then, that he was too similar to my father.

"i need to make sure alice is okay, dee. she's the only family i have left, i've known her since i was a small, bumbling fool. she's always been there for me, always there with me. it's my fault that she became a medicine cat, you know. that her shoulder didn't heal right. if i don't protect her, then who will?" she'd told herself plenty of times that alice didn't need her to take care of her. but, in truth, alice might not; she just needed someone to take care of, to have a mutual dependency with. and with the loss of her children, and her father, alice was the last string to cling to.

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; color=white; font-family: trebuchet ms; width: 350px;][justify]nowhere near their son? what an odd proposition. the deputy tilted his head in curiosity. "i seem to recall the two having a discussion on the topic of eyes when she first came here a week ago. i don't think they've spoken much since then." he perked his ears and listened intently as the feline continued. "she's usually left alone. sometimes she has guards, and minos and i bring her food. she can't hunt you know." the tom let out a snort as he spoke the last statement. "if you really need to see her, i can bring her out here. she's not leaving though. she can't fight either, so don't get any ideas about outnumbering me."

at the preposition, palemoon felt her heart begin to speed up, thrilled at the idea of being able to look her friend over, insure her well being. she struggled to keep her cool, and took to flirting as a defense mechanism. "and ruin that pretty face of yours? sweetheart, anything i want to do you couldn't be done in front of your sister." she said with a passive shrug, beginning to walk once more, not sparing him a glance over her shoulder, too afraid to crack. "where is she?"

    [ruuushed]

  • [align=center][fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; color=white; font-family: trebuchet ms; width: 350px;][justify]dee let out a smirk as she spoke. there, that was the palemoon he knew and, quite honestly, enjoyed. she was flirty and confident and not half as short-tempered. much more enjoyable. he turned to walk slightly ahead of her, not answering her question. she knew bloodclan territory well, so he wasn't about to reveal the position of their prisoner. he was smarter than that. as they walked, he leaned over close to her ear, 'was that an offer, love? because i'd be honored to take you up on it." he gave her a charming smile, then suddenly halted. they were in a back ally close to the warehouse.

"stay here." he instructed with a wave of his tail. in a few minutes, he had hurried down a few streets, around to the front of the warehouse, and retrieved his sister. the two returned, alice bouncing along behind him.

"paley!" the girl squeaked, excitement in her soft grey eyes. she hurried over to her friend and gave the grey she-cat a warm nuzzle. "oh, i missed you! is everything alright? dee say's you're in a bit of a tizzy and all. i sure hope nothing is wrong."

she didn't respond at the inquiry, only quirking a suggestive brow. she knew it was inevitable, that the offer would be taken up on. she felt something for the deputy, though ignoring the matter was far easier than trying to understand it.

when the duo returned, palemoons eyes lit up and she found herself acknowledging the fear she hadn't realized she'd had that the deputy would have brought backup. tears came to her eyes then, and the feline rushed forward to pull her friend into an airtight hug.

"alice! oh, sweetie - you don't know how worried i was when aspenpaw told me you'd been captured. i'm so happy you're alright. i've been so worried about you, i know bloodclan doesn't treat their prisoners with love." she explained, wiping her eyes and giving a choked laugh. "remember that bloodclanner i insisted on capturing when we were kits - quietstar released her and yelled at me for it! ha! i fancy six isn't quietstar though.

"have they hurt you? has anyone put a paw on you, touched so much as one of your precious hairs? i swear, i'll take a limb for every nick on you."
