• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify]Jayfeather was incapable of crying, and he was grateful for it.

To be honest, he missed ThunderClan. He missed his brother. He missed his leader. He even missed his mother. He felt like a kitten again, stumbling through the snow after his bigger siblings. The blind tom sat against a cavern wall, leaning on it like he was exhausted. And he was. He was tired of all the unfamiliar, all the paws and scents around him, all the noise of one, happy, blended family. He didn't belong there. It sounded racist, but he wanted everyone to be the same again.

I know. This didn't excuse his snarky behavior. But he was scared. Scared of everyone else, of the unknown. Great StarClan, he thought that lions went extinct, but here they were. And there were dogs. Dogs everywhere. Brightheart would be having a fit by now, and Jayfeather was pretty close to that. He couldn't trust dogs. He shuddered, imaging giant teeth ripping half of his face off too, and the thunder of frenzied paws all around him. All puppies would grow up to become slavering beasts too.

No, no, no. He didn't want to let go of his prejudices. They were all he had of home. But he didn't know when, or even if, he'd get back home. He grit his teeth, feeling his jaw tighten and lift from the wall.

It's not fair, he wanted to scream. I didn't ask for this.

But the life of a warrior was never fair. There were so many stories telling it. Cinderpelt sacrificed her leg for her leader's life, and her leg would be the one that killed her in return. Onestar never wanted to be leader, but he had to fight a civil war to honor his dying predecessor's wishes that he be one. Ferncloud did everything she could for the welfare of her Clan's children, even as her own died one by one. Was his plight so different?

Of course not. He would shoulder it. Not grin and bear it, but keep pushing until he carved out something meaningful in this new life of his. He stood, face carefully blank. "Does anyone want to gather around for a meet and greet?" he called out, lifting his tail. "I'm Jayfeather." he added.

If dogs were a hard pill to swallow, then Nat was a bullet to the face. She towered over dire wolves for Starclan's sake, and was unnatural in every sense of the word. Her pelt shifted from white to black, stars and galaxies in her fur, shifting of their own accord, like windows to something far less natural than this world should have allowed. Yet the most disturbing thing about Supernatural was what those with the Sight could see -- the lack of a soul, the presence of something that could barely be considered a soul, and it wasn't. She'd died and she'd traded her 'humanity' (for lack of a better word) in order to come back. And for what? A family that was no longer around. A clan she'd betrayed. Simply by being.

Still, the abomination laid down before Jayfeather, expression stoic, lips quirked downwards from the need to be... tranquil. Quiet and respectful.

"My name is Supernatural. It's nice to meet you, Jayfeather."

His presence deserved some sort of respect. She'd been feral not too long ago, and had a new respect for others with thought. With loyalty and emotion. She huffed and stayed still, frowning slightly.[/fancypost]
GENERAL:

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 375px;]Giovanni personally knew nothing of Jayfeather's memories of his clan's of old. Nothing at all. He barely understood the concept of the clan he was residing in today. Yet he simply did his best to just, go with the flow to a degree. A soft huff escaped the normally silent male as he heard Jayfeather's call for a meet and greet. It seemed as if just about everyone seemed to be hosting these and he did not see why he shouldn't participate in this one too. It wasn't like he ad anything better to do. Coming to stand a respectful distance away from Supernatural and Jay the ebony tiger lowered himself and took a seat. A pleasure Jayfeather. My name is Giovanni. He caught the hazy sheen of the warrior's eyes and assumed that he lacked sight. He could only imagine how hard that might have been but if fate allowed it he wouldn't want to ever find out.

The slender female was the next to join the group and she tilted her head towards the side as she stopped at Giovanni's side and perked up a little bit. "It's wonderful to see you, Jayfeather. You settling in well?" Mae asked, hoping that he was. Despite his rough exterior, he was a nice kid and she liked to see him around so much. He was a great part of the clan and Mae would have to know that he wasn't feeling welcomed or anything like that.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px; line-height: 13px;][shadow=black,left]♕ lonewolf[/shadow]
It would be a lie to say that Lonewolf hadn't been feeling sympathetic for Jayfeather. Ever since he'd joined he seemed to be especially wary of things, a lot of the time being on edge and perhaps a little snappy here and there. Up until now Lonewolf had just assumed that this 'edgy' persona to him was simply because he was in a new environment and he was still trying to settle in. Being sightless likely did not help that. Lonewolf had gone through the same struggle when he'd first joined, and frankly, he still felt as though he was going through it at times. But now he was beginning to become a little more concerned for the tom-cat. He too knew nothing of Jayfeather's past, so if he were to try and get some answers on that end he would simply fail. He just hoped that he was able to settle down a little soon.

Offering a friendly smile in greeting to the others, Lonewolf sauntered over to the group and seated himself down to the side. Since he was aware that Jayfeather was unable to see his smile, he decided to drop it to save himself that small scrap of energy. "Hello," He meowed. "My name's Lonewolf. It's a pleasure to meet you, Jayfeather."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]"Katerina Connoroy," she started by introducing herself, a bright smile playing on her lips as her amber eyes surveyed though who were here. She knew of Lonewolf and Sylmae, recognised Giovanni from when Cade had gone missing and had never before met Supernatural. Alas the latter was huge and seemed to be someone that Kat might want to keep an eye on. "Kat will be fine if it's easier." This she added as she came to a stop beside Lonewolf, the she-cheetah flicking an ear in greeting to the male.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Jayfeather," was it? Not really. But oh well, meeting people didn't hurt. She'd rather know their names and know they were not a threat then have them lurking in the shadows. Her gaze moving to flicker between Supernatural and Giovanni she spoke again. "and the two of you, of course. I don't believe we've met yet." Meet and greets were generally a bore and Katerina had attended too many to count. Not here in RiverClan for this was the first within the swamp lands. But back in the tribe when she'd been leading she used to throw herself into these events. Now she thought of them as bland.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 490px; height: auto; font: normal 10pt arial; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px]The younger male called for the meet and greet was a stranger, which was odd to Emilia. After all, she tried to make sure she showed up at joinings and met people in passing, so she normally knew people by the time they hosted a meet and greet. Nevertheless, the girl approached and sat down beside Sylmae. "Lovely to meet you, Jayfeather. My name is Emilia Resurgam, but you may call me Ellie."

He had a bit of an attitude, but Ivy knew that there had to be a reason behind it. There was a reason behind the way that Draco acted, so it was easy for the canine to look past all that negativity and focus on what was great about him. She was sure that Jayfeather had his reasons, too, so she couldn't blame him. It would suck to be blind, after all. She actually felt sorry for him. "Oh, hello Jayfeather, I'm Ivylee, but I think you already know that!" She woofed enthusiastically, giving a wag of her curly tail.
• [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 400px; font-size: 10pt; text-align: justify]Jayfeather was ashamed that he flinched away from Supernatural, but steadied his paws and laid down like her, tucking his paws into his chest. Horror made him want to recoil, as he did have the Sight (in fact, he relied on it), and she had no soul. The first of which he'd ever encountered, but he stayed silent to the fact, trying not to make his disgust as obvious as he already did. Everyone had their own story-- he had no right to judge. "Hello." he replied, giving a nod to her. "Sorry." he quietly added, tilting his head. It felt best to be upfront about these matters.

The clinking of metal sounded above him, and Jayfeather looked upwards despite the uselessness of the action. This stranger was obviously very large, from the deep rumble of his voice, to the trembling of the earth as he walked. As if it were scared of being crushed by the powerful paws. Hah, he inwardly smirked. but that's its purpose. "Giovanni, what are you?" Jayfeather had no choice but to ask. "I'm just curious.' He smelled of neither lion or jaguar, two species of which he'd already encountered. Then that must mean... "A pleasure." he echoed, wondering where the unfamiliar greeting came about. Maybe it was just this country's customs.

Ah, Sylmae. He rather liked her. She reminded him greatly of one of the queens in the Clan. Maybe not anyone specific, but the way she talked to him was reminiscent of the kindness of a mother. "Yes. You too." he responded, nodding to her. He was a little distracted, so he forgot to ask who she was. He was just happy to sense another cat.

It was pretty easy with his nose and hearing. His power wasn't that much of a great help in telling species apart. Auras weren't constrained by the body, and appeared to him in the form of a shape or a cloud. Of course, he couldn't really see those either. It was more of a feeling that he couldn't describe. As if they were a part of his body, and that he automatically knew where they were, with no senses at all. Honestly, it was all in his head. "Lonewolf," he acknowledged, recognizing the "a pleasure" again. That was interesting. "Greetings." His responses seemed to be very short, but they were to the point. He didn't see the purpose in saying anything else.

These things were truly a bore. Jayfeather was glad that they were usually short, but it was an easy way to meet others. And if they were truly a chore, he was grateful for all of them for coming. And actually, he didn't really know how to end them. "Katerinaconnoroy?" he repeated, rather confused. What kind of name was that? He knew that these Clanners didn't go by the traditional naming means, but her name was pretty long. "Oh. Alright, Kat." Maybe it's actually two words... Nah. "What are you?" He was sad that the question had to be repeated so many times, but he didn't mind looking like a fool, if only for the sake of information. "Again, curious."

Emiliaresurgam? Emilia. Resurgam. That was how she said it, wasn't it? Jayfeather didn't see the point in having two words in your name when you could just smush them together, but maybe it was a point of honor. That was the reason for his weird naming system. "Ellie." he greeted, dipping his head to her. It was always "something positive" to meet you. It was charming. He'd never used greetings because there weren't many that he didn't know, and even then, it was always awkward.

Sure, Jayfeather had his reasons. But he didn't know if they really counted. There was nothing particularly great about him, but he could prove himself. He didn't really want to though. Impressing a Clan that accepted dogs (no matter how civilized they were) wasn't high of his "respect list". He'd respect individuals, not a Clan, not anymore. And here was another one. She was as annoying as a puppy, and if it wasn't for the fact that she was leader, he'd treat her like one. She called him out on something, probably positive, but he had forgotten what. To be honest, he'd never really paid attention anyway. "Ivylee?" Her name was relatively normal. "Mm, I don't think I knew that. Thanks."

Now he was really stuck of what to do. He didn't think that he'd get this far, actually. "I guess you all can continue with, er, whatever you were doing." he concluded, standing up with a shake of the head. He'd stay, because he had nothing better to do than observe RiverClanners going about their day, but they all probably had places to go. Maybe he'd go too. Improve on walking around the territory... tch. That was pitiful, and he'd already jumped enough hurdles today. "And... thanks for introducing yourselves." He had learned something new today.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]"Two words, not one. But Kat will do." She corrected, her honey coloured eyes on the male. Was he a fool? Katerinaconnoroy? What sort of person had a name like that? Yes it was best indeed that he stick with calling her Kat. She would not be going by a name such as that. As the male asked what she was the feline tilted her head to the side slightly. It struck her then. He was blind. It made sense - eyes that didn't quite seem to be on you and all. Not missing a beat though, the cheetah responded. "A cheetah - you know, fast speedy thing."

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 375px;]That was an understandable question, for the silver male to ask just what he was. Giovanni exhaled softly through his slightly flared nostrils as he parted his jaws to answer. I am a tiger. He murmured in response moving to sit down as he saw Sylmae come and stand by his side. His head turned to face Kat as she spoke to him as well. His meet and greet hadn't gone exactly well. Mainly because he did like to be surrounded by too many individuals he didn't know very well. Regardless, he gave a curt nod. No we have not. But it is a pleasure no less, Katerina.

Draco was a little late to the meet and greet, but the canine padded in, standing beside Ivylee. He attempted to brush up against his fur as he padded over, glancing over at Jayfeather. Draco held no interest in meeting this member, but it seemed like he was on the grumpy side of things. Draco wouldn't claim he was grumpy, but instead, he was a jerk. He was a slytherin, after all. "The name's Malfoy. Draco Malfoy." He'd say with a sneer, looking over at the blind feline.[/fancypost][/fancypost][fancypost bgcolor= green; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; width: 200px; height: unlimited;]
