  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 400px;][justify]He knew something was up with his sister, but it was something that the others couldn't know. Maybe it was too embarrassing for his sister to say it in front of everyone. Whatever it was, he had the honor of knowing. They dragged their sister far from the others, making sure she was fine along every step. He made no effort to speak to her, while they were walking. Not that he didn't want to, but he didn't want anyone else to run into them. Out of all the siblings, Daisystem was his closet and most trusted family member. They trusted her with a lot of things, even if some of the secrets were just silly things he was scared of. Daisy would listen to him no matter what he did, and in doing so he only found it right to return the favor. Thrushpelt would do anything for his sister, because she treated him with respect. Everyone else didn't matter. Adderstar gave him nightmares, while the others viewed him nothing more than a ghost.

Finally the pair of siblings arrived inside a hollow of a tree. At least they were granted some privacy from all the others. Sometimes things were better left unsaid towards others. Only family would understand. Sitting down inside the space the hollow tree granted, he looked rather exhausted. The warrior smiled, giving his sister the comfort that she would need to speak to him. It was clear this smile was not of pity, nor was it to fake happiness. His smile was pure, genuine. "How long has it been since we last spoke in private?" He chuckled, wasn't it when they were apprentices? He couldn't remember. It had been so long now. Time really moved by fast, now that he thought about it. "Anyways, what's wrong sister? Sorry if I may be over stepping it, but something is wrong. You don't have to push yourself to tell me, I'm perfectly fine with just talking to you about other matters."

[hr][justify][size=8]Daisystem shared his feelings of closeness. Frankly, when they were kits and apprentices, the two had been inseparable. However, time had only pulled them in their own directions, Thrushpelt a warrior, and Daisystem a medicine cat. Though they didn't see much of one another, they still held on to their bond and spent time in camp together, reminiscing and laughing about old times. They had been there when she was rescued from the border and had visited her frequently in the medicine den, talking to her about his day to distract her from her own thoughts. She sincerely appreciated it, as sometimes it had helped her make it through the night.

So when her sibling had offered to ease her mind, she had taken him up on it, and once her Clanmates had gone their respectful ways, she allowed him to lead her into the forest. They had a special location they used to hide in: An abandoned fox den, now almost completely hidden by ferns and bushes. When they were apprentices, they had discovered a mother fox living there with her cubs. Warriors had chased them out, knowing it wasn't right to kill a new mother, and the fox wasn't seen again. Thus, the two had agreed to make it their secret spot to hang out and talk. She hadn't been here in ages, though.

Her reminiscing ended quickly, however, when his light chuckle broke into her mind. Offering a delicate smile, the snow molly murmured, "Too long." Truly, she had missed their time together, recalling it as some of the best times in her life. Unfortunately, she was about to break that streak, as this would be the first time she had broken down. Daisystem trusted Thrushpelt and knew he wouldn't speak of it, only comfort her and allow her to talk when she was ready. That was why she felt safe telling him of her newly-discovered pregnancy. Opening her jaws and giving a tiny sniffle before starting, already feeling her eyes water, she stammered, "I-I... I think I'm..." Raising her head to look in his eyes, she suddenly broke off her sentence to press her head into his fur, sobbing as quietly as she could manage. She didn't want to draw the attention of any potential predators or Clanmates lurking around, but it was hard for her to simply say aloud.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 400px;][justify]"Indeed." Was his only response to her, as he shifted to get a little more comfortable. They also recalled the time of their apprenticeship in the fox den. It was the best moments of their lives, as they found solace with the one person they were comfortable with. In the days where they felt confused by Cherrypaw and sought to better their relationship with their half sibling. Daisy had done a good job in the past offer a shoulder to cry on and such. The warrior missed the old hideout, but they would no longer fit in it. Besides the hideout was long gone, and probably other apprentices used that spot now. He would like to think not, because that was an area of tranquility between his sister and himself.

He waited, he always waited. When Daisy began and her heard her sniffle, he had assumed she would stop, but she did the opposite. In love, leaving the clan, going to the twolegs? Naturally his mind raced to the most negative things, but she had left him on a whim, so he didn't really know. Seconds later he knew he shouldn't pry, as his sister pressed her head in his fur. The only thing he could do is nuzzle and lick her head in comfort. That was his sole responsibility as a family member. "You don't have to say it. Whatever it is I'll understand, and I'll be there to help you."

[hr][justify][size=8]They had shared much in the past. Cherrypaw's ignorance tended to hurt her brother as she'd come to realize, which only led her to grow closer to Thrushpelt. She spent so much time with them that, frankly, it wasn't surprising the two developed a bond like they had now. But perhaps it was also because of the bond that they were close... Regardless, she was happy to have someone so trustworthy she could rely on.

Of course, she could feel their mind reeling through all these negative things. Worry flooded off Thrushpelt like ocean currents sweeping her away. However, Daisystem managed to ignore that briefly when his head nuzzled her close and offered a lick of comfort. Indeed, the act made her breathing steady a bit, leading her to control her sniffles long enough to lift her head and murmur, "I'm expecting kits." It was choked out, her tone terrified and confused. It would be instantly obvious to her sibling that she had no mate, as he would have been the first to know. There would be no question of when this had happened: The same day she had been attacked. When that realization hit him, the molly feared what he would do in retaliation.

The words hit him like a train, and he knew the risks of her pregnancy. It would have been fine if she was still a warrior, but his sister was a medicine cat apprentice. Medicine cats were forbidden to have kits, no matter how much they wanted children. Not to mention the fact that his sister didn't have a mate, which meant she had been.. The warrior didn't want to think of the tom to took his sister forcefully, no, he wouldn't. There was no point in getting enraged at the tom, since the deed was done. All that mattered was figuring out what to do with the children. His sister was terrified and she had every right to be.

The only thing he could do was try to comfort her, and show he wasn't mad or afraid. "Alright." His face betrayed him, expressing deep sorrow. "Daisy, I'll take care of them if you want. After all it's all my fault for being a weak brother, so this is the most I can do for you. Of course, I will understand if you refuse. Just know that I will always be there by your side, no matter what actions you take."

[hr][justify][size=8]His next words came to her gently, and though she was deep in a state of array, she managed to look at him between her sniffles. He... would take them? If Thrushpelt were to raise these kits, the clan would likely assume the mother was some loner and she would be able to still have a role in their lives as their aunt. Though grief held on to her heart tightly, she stammered, "You're n-not... weak. You-you're the strongest cat I-I know. And... I want these kits to be loved. The-they deserve to be loved, no m-matter their heritage. If you are willing to ra-raise them... I would be eternally grateful." Her voice shook at multiple points, cracking at others, and tears were still streaming down her face when she finished.

    /no muse i'm sorry

Sadness, that was the one thing he couldn't bare to see his sister in. Sadness drowned those who had sunken into it's depths. However, in order to ensure his sister wouldn't be scorned this was the least he could do. "I don't want you to end up drowning in misery. I'll raise them, and give them your love and mine combined, I will make up for it tenfold. They'll hear stories of their mother, and you can look after them as well. No one will know. They'll think it is the love an aunt, instead of the love of a mother." The warrior brought his paw to his sister's cheek, as if to wipe them away. He was far too kind, sacrificing his freedom's in order to raise his sister's kits. "I won't name these children, Daisy. They are yours after all, which means you have the greatest honor of naming them. That is the testament of your love."

His words sunk in and she pressed her head further into his fur, managing a small smile as he licked her cheek. She felt like a kit again, safe and protected by her brother's side. He had always been her best friend, and with the bond the two shared, she knew she could trust him with this. Shakily nodding her head, the tears slowing as she found solace in their words, she whispered, "Thank you. This means everything to me... and I want these kits to know... I need them to know that they are loved, forever and always." There would not be a single moment her heart didn't go towards these children. She would watch out for them day and night, make sure their foster mother gave them enough food, made sure they had fun mossballs to play with, and make sure they were always entertained with stories from the elders. There was nothing she wouldn't do for these kits. Despite the condition they were coming to be born in, she knew she would love them.
