  • [fancypost borderwidth=0; width: 470px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size:10.5px; line-height:110%;]He didn't know how it had happened. A few minutes ago, he had been fighting in the Genpei War under the command of Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Their enemy, the Taira clan had eventually surrendered to them and the war had ended with the Minamoto clan winning. They had finally won, so what had happened? Why wasn't he back home with his brothers? Why was he stuck here? Immediately after the battle had ended, the young man had left the battlefield through the forest. He figured that his work was over and he would have been able to relax at home. But instead of leaving the forest, he had stepped into a strange room. There hadn't even been a warning. It had just happened. It was as if he had been taken into another world. The walls were a blinding white color and the only things that decorated them were a row of doors. In the center of the room was a table that had a smoking man seated behind it. When the Japanese youth approached them to ask where he was, the pale stranger merely rose their head to reveal their face. Behind their thick glasses were a pair of large, pale blue eyes that stared intently at him. The first thing they murmur is, "Next," They blinked their dull orbs at him. "Sumimasen..." the youth murmured aloud as he tried to get the older man's attention again. The bespectacled male didn't even bat an eyelash as they acted as if they hadn't heard him. They picked up a ballpoint pen and opened it, before they wrote a couple of things down on a piece of paper. The archer frowned and silently watched him write. He supposed he would have had to wait for now.

After he tapped his pen a few times, he finally finished writing. The effeminate boy stared at him expectantly and opened his mouth to ask his question, until the man rose a hand to beckon him over to them. He closed his mouth and hesitantly sauntered over to them. Once he reached them, the male handed the samurai a slip of paper. When the archer glanced down to read it, he noticed that it wasn't written in Japanese. Instead, it was in some other strange language. Although he wasn't able to read it, the word that were written on it said, Jumpingtimelines. The youth furrowed his eyebrows at the note. What did it even say? Was it some secret message? The samurai was beginning to get annoyed as he crumpled the paper in his hand. He didn't have time for weird riddles; he just wanted to get out of here. "Oi! Kiite kudasai!" he shouted before he gritted his teeth together. He took a step forward and was about to ask the male another question, until a portal beside him suddenly opened. "E--Eh!?" Before he could say anything else, the Japanese soldier was sucked up by the portal as it were a vacuum. And for a second there, he thought that he had been a goner. He believed that his time had come to an end and that he would have never been able to see his world again. In some ways, he was both wrong and right. The latter was true, though not the former. He, Nasu Suketaka Yoichi, was still alive. The only problem was that he wasn't back in his time period; he was in another world. After he left, the last thing the strange man said was, "Next," and the next person arrived.

The ominous portal disappeared as soon as it dropped him off in the unknown territory. It disintegrated into thin air, leaving the soldier all alone. Yoichi coughed as he lifted himself off the ground. Glancing down at his hand, he was relieved to see that he still had his quiver of arrows. He also had the slip of paper the old man had given him. Yoichi lifted his head and adjusted his eyes to the dark territory by opening and closing them. Where was he? It didn't look anything like his world. The place didn't seem to have any humans around, as there were only animals in the vicinity. He bit the bottom of his lip and scanned the swamp for any people. He didn't care who it was; he just wanted someone to give him an explanation. Aside from this, he also needed some food, water, and a place to rest. The battle that he had recently finished had left him extremely tired. He figured that he wouldn't have been able to find any help if he just stared where he was, so the warrior decided to explore the territory a bit. Ambling through the terrain, he eventually came across a glowing waterfall. It looked absolutely stunning. He eyed the sparkling water and sprinted over to it, hoping it wasn't some sort of mirage. The teenager crouched down to touch the cool water and smiled. To his relief, it was a real waterfall. He quickly cupped his hands together to take a sip of the water and when he stared at his reflection, he nearly choked on his spit. The one staring back at him was too unrecognizable. Instead of a human, he was seeing an animal. He was now a pitch black serval with his green ribbon tied around his tail, as he didn't have a ponytail anymore. The only things he still had were his feminine body and sapphire eyes. He warily took a step back and shook his head in denial. No, this was all just a bad dream. He didn't to get out of here as soon as possible. Yoichi ran as far away from the waterfall until he reached a border.

  • There were noises not far off, but as London started towards them out of curiousity, the sound of the waterfall and the thought that this might be some evil creature thing trying to kill her, both scared her away from that general direction. Apparently, life had other ideas as suddenly there was a creature sprinting towards her. They hadn't crossed the border yet, but she wasn't sure if they were going to stop. "Um-Um hey.. hey what are..what are you doing? Are.. Are you okay? Are you..lost?" she shifted nervously, watching the much larger serval's movements, anxiety flashing behind her eyes.

The serval is a bullet of obsidian to her tired eyes, but after he passes Kali is more awake than she had been in awhile. The white direhound's head is raised in alert, and it only takes her a few seconds to get going. A steady trot carried her all the way to the border in less time than she had originally thought, but it worked out just fine. There she finds the ebony serval, his green ribbon catching her eye, but she's more interested in what he was doing there than a string on his tail.

"You okay?" Like the concerned mother hen she is, Kali first inquires towards his wellbeing. He didn't seem alright when he was running like hell towards the border. Her trailing him was more meant to make sure he either a, disappeared, or b, stayed put to be questioned. Strangers on their lands didn't make it very far without being confronted. "What's your name, and what are you doing here?" Then she edges closer, inquiring with kindness, letting the male know she wasn't going to harm him. Some would turn and run, so it was better, to her, if she approached slowly.

Draco had once been in that denial. When he had messed up his animagus spell, he couldn't believe what kind of mess he got himself into. He had no way to turn back into a human, he was stuck as an animal for good. It took him a bit to adjust to this new life, but he managed to do it, despite the death eaters getting in his way once. "What's wrong with you?" He'd asked the black serval with a sneer, as he padded in, following in after Londonpaw. "You definitely don't seem alright," He would add on, with the same sneer on his face.

Staying quiet as she padded up to the crowd, her golden eyes fixated on the male as she cocked her head to the side, watching intently. Whether he was lost or hurt or joining, she didn't see it being a good idea to add yet another set of questions on top of those already asked. She knew what it was like to be bombarded when you weren't doing so hot and she didn't want to do that to this guy. It could spook him if they were too overbearing.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0; width: 470px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size:10.5px; line-height:110%;]He took a deep breath as he tried to calm himself down. Everything was going to be okay as soon as he woke up from this nightmare. He just had to come up with a way to do that. Yoichi rose a fore-paw and unsheathed it before he pinched his arm with it. Wincing in pain, he closed his eyes. When he opened them again, he was only met with the swamp. The ebony wildcat cursed under his breath as he adjusted the position of his quiver. Maybe if he just waited here, someone would have come across him. Wondering why he was an animal was the last thing he had to worry about. It was just a good thing that he wasn't dead. What he needed to figure out right now was where he was. The slender male sighed as he closed his sapphire luminaries for what seemed like the hundredth time. He continued to do this until he heard a voice. Yoichi blinked open his bright oculars and eyed the female apprentice. The she cat had a lot of questions for him, but unfortunately for him, he had no idea what she was saying. The soldier tilted his head in confusion as he perked his ears. All that he heard was gibberish. She obviously wasn't speaking Japanese, so of course he wouldn't have been able to understand her. He parted his lips and asked in his native tongue, "Ano...Koko wa doko desu ka?" If he was lucky enough, she might have been able to understand Japanese. Maybe she didn't know that he wasn't from here and also knew how to speak his language. He doubted it, but he figured he might as well given it a shot.

As he waited for Londonpaw to give him an answer, another stranger approached him. This time, they were a pure white direwolf. The young male guessed that she was one of the trainee's comrades or something. He breathed in her flowery scent and listened to her speak. Although he didn't know what she was saying, her voice relaxed him. She reminded him a little of his own mother, even if she was just an animal. It was as if she were worried about him, as if she genuinely cared about his safety. Perhaps that was why he trusted the she wolf a little more than the other domestic feline. He met her cool blue gaze and if she were to have looked into his, she might have noticed that he had the eyes of someone that wanted to run. He glanced down at the slip of paper he had tucked in his quiver and pulled it out to give it to Kali. "Dōzo." He didn't even know any of their names yet he was willing to trust them. Call it reckless, but the serval was getting desperate for help. If he were to have understood the duo of females, he would have told them that he was named Yoichi, that he didn't know why he was here, and that he was not okay. He just hoped that the word on the note was written in her language. Maybe the bespectacled man had written his name on it?

"What's wrong with you?" He turned his head to look at the next stranger. The male was a Doberman Pinscher with a striped scarf around his neck. The sneer he had on his maw irked the wildcat a bit. It was as if they were looking down on him. He bit back a growl and unconsciously reached for one of his arrows as if he was going to attack the canine. He definitely wasn't alright and for a good reason too. Who wouldn't have been freaked out if they were to have suddenly changed into an animal? His piercing blue optics narrowed. "Nani itten da yo?" he informally inquired. At least he wasn't wearing some gaudy accessory; his just had on a simple green ribbon. He responded to the male's sneering with a smirk, before he shifted his gaze over to where Sylmae was. He examined the woman from head to toe. She was a petite clouded leopard with a pair of large angel wings sprouting out of her back. At least she seemed a lot nice than that dog. She didn't say anything, so he didn't speak to her for now. Instead, he rose his shoulders to make a shrugging motion. After this, he pointed a paw at the territory as if he were asking where he was. Were all of these creatures part of a group or an army?

・ ano...koko wa doko desu ka? = um...where is this place?
・ dōzo = here you go
・ nani itten da yo? = what are you saying?

Her muzzle crinkles in the slightest, a side affect of her confusion. The words that exit his maw and fall upon perked auricles are ones she doesn't understand, but Kali is far too patient a being to become frustrated at the language barrier. She'd hear of many other languages, and it wasn't until now she cursed herself for never bothering to learn any. Maybe even one would allow her to communicate with the serval, even just a little bit. However, to her disappointment, shoulders sag as she fails to pick up what he's trying to say. Kali frowns deeply as she turns to thought, trying to come up with something to say. But what could she say? Nothing that he'd understand, surely.

She feels a small bit of triumph when she takes the note from him, able to barely balance it on a forepaw, and when he reads it, she does so aloud: "Jumpingtimelines?" Had he.. come from another space in time? Was he traveling back, or forward, or what? What was this note supposed to tell her? While immediately she went to read far into it, considering the more in depth possibilities, after a moment she glances towards the serval again and exhales deeply. "Is that, um.. your name? Jumpingtimelines?" Of course he cannot understand her, and she knows this, but without thinking she speaks as if he can. Slowly, articulately.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0; width: 470px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size:10.5px; line-height:110%;]Yoichi catches her puzzled expression and sits back in disappointment. It seemed as though she wasn't Japanese and wasn't able to speak his language. This made things a lot more difficult for both of them. A pout forms over his lips as he ponders over the troublesome situation. How was he ever going to get back home? He stared at the ground in worry. If none of these creatures were unable to understand him, then did that mean that he would have had to leave? He glanced at the sky and watched as the sun began to slowly set. The archer wondered if he even had time to search for another place to stay. He glanced back to look at the pretty she wolf as she read the note. "Jumpingtimelines?" When she barked out the name, he frowned. It was good that the writing was in her language, but it was bad that it wasn't his name. What the hell was Jumpingtimelines? The ebony serval's lips formed into an 'o' shape as he took in the word. What nonsense had that old grandpa written? His name was Yoichi, not Jumpingtimelines. He was about to deny her question, before he held himself back. He was too tired and hungry to reject the name. All the male wanted right now was to indulge in some food and get some rest. Yoichi hesitantly nodded his head and muttered, "Hai..." If that was what he would have been called from now on, then so be it. At this point, he didn't care. The Yoichi he knew wasn't a beast, they were a human. He had no right to be called that name anymore.

Unfortunately, Japanese was not a language that Bella was fluent in. She could understand some words, however, being the intelligent being she was. Plus, she had spent a bit of time with someone who spoke fluently. That didn't, of course, mean that she spoke fluently, just that she understood the gist of what he was trying to get across. "I can... Translate, sort of...? When I was, um, not in this world, I'd spent moons with someone who could speak Japanese, which is what this poor man is speaking right now. I'm not fluent, but let me try..." She murmured, referring to the time she'd been dead. That time had only been a few months here, but it'd seemed to last years for her. She was smart, but it wasn't like she could speak every language known to man!

"Wa.... No, Watashi wa Arabella." Was that right? She sure hoped so. She was a bit rusty, since she hadn't exactly used the language since her time as a spirit, but hopefully they could teach him English quickly. Oh, geez. "Anata wa RiverClan ni imasu. Anata wa... koko ni iru?" Sure, she may have been butchering the language, but her point was getting across, she hoped.

    (( translation 1: I am Arabella.
translation 2: You are in RiverClan. You stay here? ))

Hai. The word, to her, seems like it could simply be yes. Or maybe okay, or a confirmation of some sort. Not to mention the word, paired with his nod, however hesitant it was, led her to believe that was his name. Jumpingtimelines, surely a mouthful, but perhaps when they could understand each other better they could come up with a compromising nickname.
Arabella arrives before Kali can do much else, and really, there isn't anything she can do but try to get the stranger to understand what she was saying. The fae was not sure she had the patience, currently, so she was rather glad (more so than usual) to see Arabella. Especially since the vampiress could.. speak that language? As the foreign words exited the brown tabby's lips, Kali turns to glance curiously at Jumpingtimelines, searching almost desperately for a hint of recognition.

She twitched an ear as she glanced over towards Arabella and listened to her speaking Japanese. It was a language you didn't hear often and Mae happened to enjoy the sound of it. It seemed to roll of the tongue and she appreciated that. "You should uh.. translate for us in return, Bells." Mae said lightly as she leaned into her sister and smiled lightly, her golden eyes fixating back on the male. She wished she knew Japanese so she could be of assistance.
