    Plot: It was a time in America's history where there were a ton of orphans. The orphanages would be packed with kids and many lived on the street. Fortunately, the west was booming. Towns were being set up all across the west. Two railroads finally connected, allowing easy passage from anywhere on the east coast all the way to California. As America kept growing and the amount of orphans kept increasing, some good men and women took it upon themselves to find homes for as many orphans as they could. Their solution: the orphan train. They would take orphans with them to stops from the east coast all the way to Cali, hoping to find them all homes. Those that didn't find a home were sent back. This is the sad, yet joyful story of the orphan train

    Backstory/History: Katrin grew up in a fairly poor family. Her father died when she was only six years old, and her mother fell ill only a year later. In no position to care for her children and with no money to buy medicine, her mother made the hard choice to give Katrin and her brothers to an orphanage, where Katrin has been living since.

    Backstory/History: Ella came to America with her father and older sister, her father planning on getting a job and sending the money back to her mother so she could join them later. However, not long after her father was killed while working in a factory, and Ella and her sister were put in an orphanage since they had no other family here.

    Backstory/History: Sarah grew up in a family of devout atheists. They taught her not to believe in Christianity or any type of religion, for that matter. After all, the world created itself. Unfortunately for her, her parents got in a horrible accident when she was only 11. They'd been driving home from work after attending a lecture on evolution. She'd stayed at a babysitter's house. After her parent's death, there were no family willing to adopt her. Most did not live in the same state, and those that did had big enough families already. The orphanage where she lived was overflowing with kids and thus, she was forced to try to make it out on the street. She lived on the street for four years. Then...(that is where she enters the story)

    Backstory/History: Lanecia had grown up in the South for most of her life. Thanks to the end of the civil war, though, she and her young daughter had been freed from slavery. Unfortunately, her husband Jerome had been killed during the war. She moved north west with her daughter, shortly thereafter, and settled in the city of Laramie, Wyoming. After settling down with her daughter and finding work and a good church, Lanecia and her daughter decided adopt an orphan. They'd heard about the orphan train and Lanecia knew that her daughter had always wanted a sibling. This was something that would work out for both of them.

    What do you hope for in a child: Lanecia wanted someone who her daughter liked, that was not an older boy. Whether it was an older girl, or any young child, she wanted to adopt a child of a different ethnicity. She also hoped for someone who needed the love and care she was up to provide.

    Backstory/History: Isabelle came from South Carolina after her husband desired to move west. The small town southern belle was more than happy to oblige to his woshes for she to wished to see what the world had to hold out there. Having left her parents behind, Isabelle and her husband set out. Months later, they had built their home and were content there. The next year, Isabelle and her husband welcomed a child into the world. The little boy was her pride and joy. But one fateful evening her son was struck ill. They did everything in the might to save him but ultimately lost him. It was only months later after her husband had recently been appointed as sheriff did she lose him to a drunken imbecile in the town. She wishes now to simply fill the hole in which was left by their deaths.
