A new year has taken course at Bright Hope Hospital. Last year's interns have progressed into residents, and residents into attendings.

Most interestingly, however, the latest crop of interns has arrived. As always, they're a cocky bunch, all of them stuck on the naive notion that they can make a difference in the world. And, hell. Maybe one or two of them stand a chance. More likely, however, is the unquestionable fact that the majority of them will, over the course of the next year, get their asses- along with their dreams- handed to them in a trampled cardboard box.

In the end, the only ones who stand to make it in the medical world are the ones who get their asses kicked time and time again. The ones who sell their entire life to the hospital, and come out at the end of the year with their soul still in-tact.

It takes the heart of a lion to make it as a doctor here at Bright Hope Hospital. Think you have what it takes?

One hospital. Two doctors. One stormy relationship.

Edison Cooper has spent the last eight years giving her all to medicine. She attended a medical school with cutthroat competition, fought her way to the top of her class, and came out at the end with a free ride to an internship at Bright Hope Hospital.

This roleplay will center primarily around my character, a medical intern at Bright Hope, and your character, the intolerable, angry Attending Physician who she comes to view as a mentor.

Your character is in charge of overseeing the training of all the new interns, but takes a particular interest in twenty-three year old Edison Cooper. Because of her tendency to mentally drift off when being spoken to and her crippling inability to keep her mouth shut, he is annoyed by her at first, and in fact seems to dislike her more than any of the other interns... By the same token, he hovers over her more than any of the others, and she quickly learns to turn to him when she needs help.

Under your character, Edison will be forced to learn things the hard way. Even when he warms up to her, your character's hard shell is not to be broken. He's uncaring and cruel in how he explains things, but he tells it like it is... And with time and experience, the two of them find each other closer than ever expected.

Your character does not require a form unless you want to supply one! All in all, I'm not too well-informed on life in a hospital and will be researching intensively as we go!

✩ If you track this thread, please double check yourself to ensure that you intend to actually respond! I don't want to lose a perfectly good thread to an empty track!

✩ You don't have to know a crap ton about medicine to join this thread! Sure, there will be some studying involved here and there, but it shouldn't be too hard. If you need help with coming up with an illness, just hit me up, and I'll give you some links!

✩ Please be capable of writing 4-5 literate paragraphs per post! I understand if you are hit by a case of the "low muse" every now and then, but don't let cruddy posts become a habit!

✩ I understand inactivity, as I am currently balancing my senior year of high school with an (almost) full-time job at Panera Bread. Just make sure to post three or four times a week, and we should be peachy keen.

✩ There is going to be cussing in this thread. There is going to be death, sex, and frequent mention of drug and alcohol abuse. It's all just a part of the job.

✩ If you've made it this far, and are still interested in joining, post your character's bio below! It can range anywhere from basic to complex so long as I get a real feel for your character. As for my character, you can find her in the spoiler below! I may also end up making a surgeon and a nurse before long, but will stick with Edison for now!

✩ As a side note, if you're interested in doing supblots, I whipped up a whole cast of interns and doctors in a separate thread. All you have to do is say the word, and I'll hit you up with some plots!
