The familiar scent of the ThunderClan apprentice is what had the dark tabby bristling that afternoon. He had already shown her a piece of his mind, after she had ripped him a new one with words. The two really did not like one another, if it wasn't obvious. So when she caught his scent yet again, attached to a ShadowClan warrior bursting into camp, Briarkit was there in a heartbeat.

Though the apprentice was shaking and in clear agony, one glance told her it wasn't that bad. Only a simple scratch to the face, nicking her eye. The main worry here was the loss of her vision in that one eye. But even if that happened, she would still remain with her other eye to see out of. Somehow she assumed Emberpaw would likely like to keep the use of both of them, though. Remaining calm, as this wasn't as serious as a gash to the throat, the kit demanded, "Come on," and began leading her to the medicine cat den. With no current medicine cats, Briarkit had already proved herself capable of stopping bleeding and placing a proper marigold poultice on wounds. However, she was very unsure of what to use to treat an injured eye.

[hr][justify][size=8]When her big brother arrived, Briarkit cast him a grim glance, telling him she knew. The second he requested to know what happened, Emberpaw didn't have to say a word before she spoke the name: "Adderpaw. Fox-tongued ThunderClan apprentice." Her tone held a level of frustration that suggested she had encountered this tom before, but was supposedly too young to be out of camp to have possibly met him.

[hr][justify][size=8]She made quick work of cleaning the wound. Luckily, it wasn't too big, so a tiny amount of wet moss did the trick. However, her poultice stung a decent amount given that she hadn't had the proper training to know how to apply it delicately. Still, she rubbed it into the area surrounding her eye, being careful not to actually get it in the eye, as she wasn't sure what what to be used there. As she did her work, the kit listened to Emberpaw. Her compliment was accepted with a tiny smile from the tabby, though she attempted to hide it. However, she paused when she heard the cause for her getting mauled by Adderpaw.

"Are you mouse-brained or just can't smell?" questioned Briarkit, raising a nonexistent brow. Honestly, that was kind of asking to have your eye clawed out. Crossing clan territories was against the code. Not to mention ThunderClan was a current enemy! It wasn't surprising to see her come back like this, however, she might have expected more than this little scratch for being caught trespassing.

Well, if she had trouble getting use to being half blind, she could at least relate to his baby sister. Except poor Pearlkit had been born blind in both eyes, which was much different than suddenly becoming blind in one eye.

A tiny frown lacing her maw, she admitted, "I think there's an herb you're supposed to use to treat eyes, but I don't know it." Maybe someone else in the clan would know? She hoped so, otherwise her eye could fester and get worse. Without Lilyfang here, she worried cats would show up with wounds much worse than this and die because no one had been trained properly.

Glancing towards Snakehiss when he addressed her, the brown tabby found her fur bristling. There was no way she was going to admit how she knew him! That could get her apprenticeship delayed further! "I don't know him," she lied, "I've just heard of him." Had she known what was running through the tom's mind, she would have much rather told the truth than leave him to his assumptions.

But while you're over there, why don't you make yourself useful and ask Icegaze what he uses for injured eyes?" snorted the tabby. The ThunderClan medicine cat, on the contrary, was a commonly known name. His apprentices, however, were not. It seemed those were changing all the time, so Briarkit never bothered to keep up. If Snakehiss was so insistent upon storming over there, though, he might as well ask about what she didn't know.
