A blizzard raged outside, preventing Andromeda from wandering outside to clear her mind. Lately she'd been thinking about a lot of things. Like who was she going to become? There was still the curiosity of wondering where Vi was, and then her fathers. She knew they were alive, that much she was positive of.. A heavy sigh escaped her lips. These days she just interacted with her new friend Dee and was recently talking to some kingly golden tom named Minos. For a while she'd tended to Finch, but then she'd left her ill cousin once she realized Florence could care for her much better. Now Andy was bored, she wanted to explore, she didn't want to stay in BloodClan anymore. But where could she possibly go with all that snow outside?

Disappointment glazed her emerald gazed, leaving the she-kit to glower at the warehouse doors. Hopefully, if she stared long enough, her stare would melt the snow.

The conversation he’d had with Minos has been enlightening, gratifying. He’d found that his father shared much of the thoughts he had, validating those feelings. His feelings of not quite fitting in, of perhaps leaving to some place less obsessed with violence and yet, Minos had encouraged his interest in learning herbs. After all, Spear was looking for a new medicine cat trainee, but what if he didn’t get that position? It was possible, likely even, he wasn’t the most active one around. And what then? Would he stick it out? He wasn’t like Finch or Florence. He didn’t fancy the bloodstained collars, the way everyone was heartbeat away from tearing flesh and bone.

    It was something to consider…

He spotted a familiar sweeping pelt standing before the warehouse doors, a stiffness in her posture. The blizzard had trapped them inside, and for kittens even more so. Curious, realizing he hadn’t spoken to his sister in a while, Lester rose to his paws and leapt lightly down from his perch. He came to a stop beside her, brushing his smoky fur against hers. “Thoughts?” he asked, his silver eyes glancing down at her.

    //tis all good!

The striped she jumped up on her toes, turning on him with fur fluffed out as her lips rose to show pointed ivories. "Lester! You frightened me right out of my fur you big ol' shadow!" she chastised fiercely, although began to relax as her fright dripped from her like rain water. Slowly, a laugh bubbled up from her throat as she closed her eyes to release the familiar, bright, tinkling sound. Very rarely did she get surprised, and it was rather refreshing to see her eldest brother's face.

Andromeda came up, touching her nose to the smoke tabby and breathing in his scent. He never smelled rough and gross, like a dirty cat scavenging the carrion place. Instead, he smelled sweet and almost.. herbal. Lately she'd been questioning that. These days she'd seen him so involved in helping others with such soft generosity, it made her suspicious what his plans were in the future. In fact, she felt a little hurt as a feeling of secrecy passed between them. It felt as though he was keeping important information from her. Maybe she didn't have to know anything, but these days if they all became distant... Who would she have left to talk to?

"You big furball. I hardly see you anymore! What have you been up to young king?" she teased with a bow, flicking his cheek with her feathery plume offering him an encouraging, beautious smile.[/fancypost]

He hadn’t meant to scare Andy, but he’d always been light on his feet and smooth in his movements. He chuckled lightly at her reaction, his silver eyes crinkled in amusement as she told him off. He gave her fluffed shoulder a lick—an apology. “Didn’t mean to startle you, dear sister,” he said, a soft purr in his throat.

She was lovely, his sister. He could see it as she was growing. More and more she was embodying the lovely plume and silk that he saw in his own pelt and in Minos’. Perhaps she was a true sister—and as far as he was concerned she was. She was gentler. Though Hera too wasn’t without her charms. But she didn’t come to Lester as often. Not like Andy did.

He laughed again as her tail flicked his cheek, jest and playfulness in the gesture. “You as well, dear sister. You have been branching out, have you not?” he said lightly. He wrapped his charcoal tail around the both of them, knowing she liked it when he comforted her. “I… formed a relationship with my father,” he told her. With Vi being as gone as she was, he didn’t even care to keep it a secret. And he didn’t think Andy would sneak off to find her either. “And… I think I want to become a medicine cat.”

The second one filled him with pride. He had no idea if he would get the position ever. But, at the same time, he wanted to expand his knowledge of herbs. He wasn’t cut out for fighting. “You know I don’t like fighting, so I decided to try to expand my knowledge of herbs. What about you?”

She placed a white paw on his cheek, pushing at his face lightly and giggling all the while. However, her face scrunched up and a silly grin played on her face. It was a good-natured silly look, paw upraised and brought to her chest. "Yeah, yeah." Andromeda teased with a roll of her emerald visionaries. Indeed she was beginning to look like a goddess. One day, her green eyes would diminish their hard, cold maturity and be replaced with elegant intelligence. She'd look as if she was created with all the finer things in life, a tabby masterpiece. However, those days were barely coming to her. While she may have the beauty at foot for herself, she direly wanted success. How she wished she was so easily born with it like her appearance, but alas she was cursed to truly find herself in her adolescent years. Oh, curse the stars.

"Me? Branching out? Why not as nearly as much as you young king!" letting herself be caressed by his tail. Not often did she receive such gestures of comfort, and it was nice to know caring family existed. At the mention of family, her entire body stiffened and emotion welled at her throat. She remembered how she'd reacted when Minos had revealed that he was her father. It was a very... surprising emotion that wasn't like herself at all. So she swallowed the emotion painfully, nodding slowly and mechanically. "I've talked to him recently. Unfortunately our conversation was like a pained joke, I hope you're cautious Lester. I'm here for you, that tom hasn't even been in our lives at birth. Vi kept him away for a reason. I too have been gentle with him, but equally strict. I accept your charisma towards others, but he does not deserve all of it. At least, until he proves he's worthy," Andromeda voiced quietly, her tone dead serious. Even her eyes lifted, locking onto his silvery ones with a fiery intensity. However, his next few words made her face brighten, returning light in her eyes. They sparkled with acceptance, and she pushed her face into his chest fur and rubbed her head beneath his chin as her entire being switched from sorrowful, quiet, and serious to jovial, encouraging, and warm.

"Oh Lester that's great!" It seemed everyone was weaving a destiny for themselves. Where was her thread? She was not going to be remembered as a pretty face in a crowd. She wanted power, victory. Envy could not be mustered, however, for she felt being the next healer apprentice was fitting for her brother. It was exactly what she'd wanted for him as his baby sis! "Yes. Yes! I know that, and I give you my blessing to pursue such a task. I wish you luck Lester, as you bathe yourself in kingly treasures<' she purred and pulled away from him, searching his silver optics with forest ones of which looked rather perplexed.

"As for me," Andromed meowed softly, releasing a faint sigh. "I've yet to decide my fate, yet to make a name for myself." She looked upward, up to the criss-crossing beams of the warehouse, and felt as though those beams where all the possibilities she had. A complicated web of endless choices. WHat to choose? What to choose.[/fancypost]

She pushed him aside, though the movement was light, a jest, and he chuckled softly. She looked lovely like that—young, and innocent. Not pretending. Then again, he pretended a lot too. He’d realized that while talking to Minos—the golden tom had coxed something younger and softer out of him, something he didn’t know he was capable of. Maybe he’d been more desperate for a father figure than he’d realized.

A young king? He liked the sound of those words. Not even a prince—he was a king already, and that pleased him. Oh how he wanted to be a king. Not like Six. Six was an old warrior—old to him, of course—but seasoned nonetheless and brutal, strict in his ways. Necessary, for a war clan like theirs. But he wanted to be a King of a different kind, one of elegance and refinement, clever with his words and a balm of healing to his people. One that applauded peace—not violence.

No such place for Kingly figures here.

He felt his sister stiffen at the mention of family, and he glanced at her curiously. She was… bothered, by that? She went on, the mirth and lightness now absent from her sweet tone. She met his eyes, trying to impart some warning he didn’t understand. What exactly had happened between her and Minos for her to say such words? “He understands me, Meda,” he said, of voice even, earnest, stating a matter of fact. “More than Vi ever did. You said it yourself, Vi kept him away and yet, where is she?” he shook his head, and his molten metal eyes took hers in again, this time with soft energy. “You’ve met him, you’ve seen him. He’s also a young king and Vi swells with anger. I understand his desire to keep the peace. But now that Vi has pulled back, he is stepping forward, doing the best he knows how. I cannot distrust him for that. But—” and he dipped his head down and gave his sister soft nuzzle, “I will be cautious, if to assuage your worry.”

She was so pleased and happy for his ambition. Such a stark contrast in emotion and affection. But he was thrilled she approved. He hadn’t though she would—why would she?—but it was nice all the same. “Why, thank you.,” and he laughed again. Kingly treasured indeed. But then, she pulled away slightly and he sensed some anxiety within her.

He paused. And then he stepped toward her again, bringing his charcoal tail to brush beneath her chin and urge her to look at him. “You will find your path,” he said. [color=maroon] “After all, a young king must have his guard, and you are already a member of my court. Maybe one day we will have our own kingdom, and you will rule with me.”

She flattened her ears and lowered her head, eyes screwed shut as she heaved a great sigh. Lifting her head to return his look, with a partially sad smile. Meda? That was new too, pretty as well. She liked it very much, but not all he said after. What power did she really have as the youngest anyway? At least he'd attempt to subdue her worries and fears, but it was evident Lester was just as hungry for a parental figure as she. Being hungry had broken her down when she was talking to Minos, fear of another parent leaving her had weakened her immensely. His mere presence, with amber eyes and golden fur, had changed everything for her. "Do as you may, I can only advise you so much," Andromeda murmured at last.

Then the sorrowful smile softened to a brighter look, highly complimenting her face. "You're very welcome," she giggled before her ears lay flat against her head while it was raised to look into silvery oculars. Meda's eyes widened, amused by the length Lester took to comfort her and the words that he said. A blush heated her cheeks and burned her ear tips as she gave him a shy grin. "I can be your elite guard!" the silky tabby purred, voice chirpy and hopeful. A kingdom where she could rule with him? That'd be... amazing. Laughing brightly again, shaking away her embarrassment she nodded. "But I understand. I hope I find that path soon, though."[/fancypost]

It was clear he hadn’t managed to completely win her over. Still, she seemed willing to allow him his choices. That would have to do for now. Perhaps in time she would warm up to Minos, though he was still curious about how their conversation had gone. He joined her in gazing up at the stars, his black ears lying flat against his head as his silvery eyes swallowed the stars glittering above.

He knew they were beautiful. But he didn’t feel anything when he beheld them. Pinpricks of lost souls gazing down at an indifferent earth. Perhaps Rosaline was up there, watching her children grow and change with the passages of time. But there were lives down here on the ground, his sisters, his father. And they were beautiful. Not like the stars or the sunset he’d seen with Minos. They were beautiful in a way that touched his heart—they mattered, not like some abstract sight of nature moving about its business.

“I’m sure you will.” At least he’d managed to cheer her up some. He paused a moment, wondering whether he should ask about her and Minos before ultimately deciding not to. He didn’t want to persuade her to like or dislike their father and his decisions. She was fully capable of making her own decisions. He gave a soft chuckle instead, and said, “Look out Bloodclan, there’s a galaxy coming your way.”

"GalaxyClan?" Andromeda tried at once, her head settled between Lester's head and shoulder. A purr rumbled in her throat as her glanced up at the stars. It was a little far-fetched, perhaps too silly to be a Clan name. It had to noble, like the Court... Maybe it didn't even have to be finished by '-Clan'! In fact, she liked the Court! Alas, they were too young and if Lester did become the healer's apprentice, he'd have no wish to leave such duties behind. Andromeda didn't expect it either. In fact, if he was the healer's apprentice, how much time would he be spending with her? Wouldn't he have to go out and help cats all the time? Fights occurred often, so it was no surprise if her eldest brother was always busy.

Deciding on a lighter subject to talk about, she pricked her ears and released another purr. "I met Hera! She's been adventuring this whole time, can you believe that? She says I can go with her!" the tabby and white kitten chirped, nuzzling the charcoal tabby's neck. "Maybe we can all go brother, and you can pick up some medicine tips to impress Spear."[/fancypost]

Galaxyclan? That sounded--like a fantasy. He chuckled, perhaps that suited it just fine. It existed only in their minds after all. If he were to really do something like that, it would need a different name. Still, that wasn't exactly what he'd been talking about. "I meant, you dear sister," he said with a purr.

At news of Hera, he paused. It had been a very long time since he'd seen her. So she'd gone traveling, had she? It was a surprise she'd managed to return. Most of the forest clans considered you a kit--and therefore incapable--until six moons, didn't they? But the idea of traveling the three of them did sound nice. "Haha, I wouldn't want to rain on your sisterly parade, but a family adventure would be fun. Immediate family," he added. There was no doubt that they were all very different from Vi's litter.
