Ophelia ran her hands over her shirt, smoothing out wrinkles as she looked at herself in her body length mirror. Brushing a strand of hair back in place with her fingers, she gave herself a small nod of approval at her appearance before she turned around and grabbed the cardboard box wrapped in black wrapping paper off of her queen-sized bed. [b]"You got this," she said to herself as she turned around and walked out of her apartment, her black heels clicking against the hardwood floor. She sent a small smile to the elderly woman who had been riding the elevator down every morning and sat outside the apartment complex on the bench since her balcony was being worked on. Ophelia could tell that she was a sweet woman from the small conversations that they had from time to time. When the doors opened to reveal the first floor, Ophelia politely let the woman step off first before she got out herself. "Good morning, Miss Black. Try to leave an impression in there," the doorman, Mr. Adams, said to her as he opened the door for her. She sent a sweet smile to the older man. "Thank you, Mr. Adams. For the hundredth time, call me Ophelia," she said with amusement. He chuckled and nodded as he held the door for the woman she had rode down the elevator with. Internally praising herself for calling a cab thirty minutes early, Ophelia opened the door and sat inside, telling the cab the address to the office and within the minute, they sped off in the direction toward the New York Times office. It didn't take as long as Ophelia thought that it would considering the morning traffic. To her surprise, she actually lived closer than she thought she did; maybe a fifteen minute walk. I'll try walking tomorrow, the blonde woman thought as she paid the cab driver and got out, looking at the insanely tall building before walking through the glass door. "Ophelia!" Turning quickly, she saw an acquaintance of hers who she had met the day she came to do her interview for the job. A smile instantly spread on her lips as she walked toward the guy. "Hey, Trevor," she greeted. Looking in his hands, she noticed that he also had a wrapped box, almost similar in size, a card taped to the top. "Are you about to mail yours out?" Trevor asked, nodding his head toward the wrapped care package in her hands. Looking down at it, Ophelia nodded before she looked back at her coworker. "Yeah. I put in all sorts of snacks and a little note saying how much I appreciate their service and everything." Trevor nodded. "Well, come on! Let's go mail 'em!" He said, and Ophelia followed him to the large mail drop that was just outside the building. Ophelia watched Trevor push his care package inside, and then she did the same to hers, though more carefully. She stood outside for a few seconds before Trevor elbowed her and gestured for them to go back inside the office with a smile, and they did. ooc: oh my lord, i wasn't expecting it to be that long. my posts are definitely not even close to being that long usually, so don't think that i expect yours to be as lengthy as this.
