They didn’t belong, there was no place for them here no matter how they sought to carve one out, yet still there was a reluctant to let it go, to simply move on. This place had been a patch of sunlight within the darkness which had been the short period of time their life had run before, much spent in solitude though it came down to their own choice, separating themself from any they might cross paths with. It had been a lonesome dreary life – no, it had been no life but simple existence, now that this place had become a home of sorts they didn’t care to let it go so soon.
The act was selfish, one they didn’t deserve which left the heavy weight of self-loathing to fill the hollow of their heart, numb them until it felt as if nothing was left within, but a dark pit left to fester. It did not matter what they did the ache was always there, present in a place they couldn’t reach, yet being here helped, made it keeping it at arms-length just a bit easier upon them. They want to let it all go and yet it is there as well, the desire to simply fall apart, to let everything fade until they are nothing, if only it were so simple.
It was simple and easy, something to keep their mind entertained if only for a few hours. The danger about the task was something they didn’t care for, never touching their thoughts until those last moments when they had found themself in the heart of a deserted town, unsure and terrified. The search had proven tedious more than anything though they had gone about it readily, seeking out any plush toys they might, many still in good condition if dusty.
Faded by time it was not quite perfect though close enough to what they sought, the tail curled as was needed though the wire within the ears had seemingly snapped some time ago and they were flopped over, the large glass eyes black rather than blue though they could do nothing about that. Getting the blue just right had proven the hardest part of the task, though washing it had its own hardship it had been trying to get the paint to stick to the sopping wet toy which had almost left them to give in. Given time to properly dry out they had once more tried and had succeeded somewhat in getting the plush dog finished, if not matching to the one they intended it for it was a close enough match.
Rather splotchy and uneven the blue covered where it should though ran up the legs somewhat, the smears over the face and ears also rather badly done, showing small patches of white where they had grown careless and sought to finish, a piece of fabric tied about the neck to mimic a bandana. There were some bad points to it and likely the blue would need to be touched up later as it faded but Inanis was proud of their efforts and set the rather large plush toy in the center of the cavernous camp, a rather torn up piece of paper set before it was a crude scribble of what seemed to be Ivylee. As for Inanis themself, a rather large hybrid hiding themself was not an easy task though they had done as such, no sign of them anywhere near the plush, seemingly having left the camp itself to wander once more, unease when it came to staying within the central camp.
