— Moonflower: Golden is very confused about is feelings for the deputy. On one paw he feels an overwhelming need to protect her and keep her close. Yet on the other he cannot stand her, finding her resemblance to his mother almost to much to bare. More often then not he gives into the first, willing to do just about anything she asks of him. This power she holds over him terrifies him, which in turn angers him.
— Bearbelly: He loves his brother, even if he has never said it. Bear is the only cat he feels he can fully trust, sharing with the other tom a bond of blood and a history of horror. But he has learned to keep his distance for fear that his brother might one day turn out to be just like their mother. Using Goldens love against him.
— Rosekit: His brothers adopted daughter and a thorn in Goldens side. He cannot stand her constant chatter and often tells her so. However indifferent he feels about her though, he is willing to put his life on the line for her. Not only because she is a clanmate but because she is important to his brother.
