    : Laura Foster is a headstrong, bestselling author who has been granted permission to observe the day to day life of a doctor (of any medical branch). She is studying the every day life in a hospital for a novel that she soon plans to compose. Your character is a cynical doctor with no patience for tomfoolery, and who claims to have enough on his plate what with having to train the newcoming interns alongside treating his own patients. That's why when Laura comes into the picture, he initially finds her obnoxious and wants absolutely nothing to do with her. And, to his credit, Laura can become a touch annoying with her wild, often fantastical daydreams and her incurable naivety.




    Despite his outward disdain towards Laura, your character has a weakness that makes him prone to fall back to her every, single time: a big, fat ego. That's right. Everybody likes to think that they're special, after all, and the fact that Laura prefers to observe your character above all others is just one of the things that gets your character going.




    We will begin the thread about a week after Laura has arrived at the hospital. She has been granted permission by the chief of medicine, Dr. Randall Drum, to spend as much time as she feels is necessary at the hospital. For most of the week, Laura has been taking notes on the interns and nurses, but she's grown bored with the routine and is ready to play with the big dogs.




    So, at long last, she approaches the big, bad doctor and makes her presence known.




    From there, the relationship between the two characters will be rocky at best. Your character, however, will unwillingly teach her the ropes and ties of being a doctor, as well as all about how they deal with death, why they act the way they do, and how they cope with the simple strain of every day life.




    Soon enough, your character finds that he is able to tolerate Laura more than he ever expected, and Laura finds herself more magnetized to your character than ever. [/fancypost]

    ✩ You don't have to know a crap ton about medicine to join this thread! Sure, there will be some studying involved here and there, but it shouldn't be too hard. If you really need to, refer to this link to see what some of the patients on Scrubs have been diagnosed with, maybe look up some of the symptoms, and go from there! (Of course, Laura will be learning a lot about death from your character!)




    ✩ Please be capable of writing 4-5 literate paragraphs per post! I understand if you are hit by a case of the "low muse" every now and then, but don't let cruddy posts become a habit!




    ✩ I understand inactivity, as I am currently balancing my senior year of high school with an (almost) full-time job at Panera Bread. Just make sure to post three or four times a week, and we should be peachy keen.




    ✩ There is going to be cussing in this thread. There is going to be death, sex, and frequent mention of drug and alcohol abuse. It's all just a part of the job.
