He frowned, playing with the others fingers gently. "I feel like youre just saying anything to make me happy. When we get out of here...what would you like?" He asked softly, bloodshot hues peering up at the male. Rex was sure to spoil the hell out of his lover too. He would make sure that he never left his side.

He sighed, shrugging. "I'm not hungry. You can eat if you want.'" He mumbled, letting go of his hand. Rex hardly ever ate the slop that was given to him. Half of the time he couldnt even tell what it was anyways, so why bother eating it?

  • "I just want you" Quinn mumbled before chuckling "I've got attachment issues if you haven't caught on yet. You can't shake me easily, I'm far to dependent at this point" He untangled his fingers reluctantly before standing. He stretched and gave a small yawn. Quinn swept his hair back again with a single motion of his hand as he approached the slots in the wall by the glass.

Quinn waited a moment before becoming impatient and rapping his knuckles against the observation glass to gain their attention. Soon a clatter of trays could be heard and Quinn received two small metal trays. On each was a small bowl of plain pasta and then a small plate of chicken and broccoli, a single bottle of water on its side rolling on each tray.

Carefully he walked back over to Rex and set the tray in front of him before sitting pressed up against him like he had before. His own tray balanced on legs. Quinn noted that there was no silver or plastic ware on either trays. With a furrow of his brow he grumpily grabs a piece of pasta with his fingers and pops it in his mouth. "You're not getting served that sh*t while I'm with you. Instead its going to be proper food from here on out" He mustered up half of a grin as he gestured to the trays "Striking a deal with those vultures sure as hell wasn't an easy feat but I've always got more guts than those kinds of sniveling snobs think I do" he tapped the side of his nose with a wink.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; width: 440px; padding: 3px; border: none; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;]

A lazy smile made its way across his face. "Youre too sweet." He hummed. Rex didnt know why Quinn would want just him! He wasnt all that great anyways...regardless, he watched his lover get up, a bit confused. At first, fear gripped his heart--he thought the blond was getting up to leave or something. But he watched curiously as he waited by the slots, only to be rewarded with trays of food.

When Quinn came back, Rex's mouth was watering. Actually food! He eagerly took the plate, only able to mumble a quick thank you before he was shoving food into his mouth with his hands. It only took him a couple of minutes to eat everything that was given to him--even the broccoli, which he had always disliked. He sat the tray down, slumping against the wall. "That was wonderful...thank you." He whispered quietly.

  • Quinn couldn't wipe the grin off his lips even if he tried as he watched Rex dig into the food. It was still bland food by all means, but it was probably better than whatever mush they used to serve the boy. He too finishes eating his own trays worth, finishing off the water bottle quickly at the end of his meal. As much as he was tempted to offer a portion of his own food to Rex he knew that he needed to keep his strength up while they were both caged up here.

He stacked both their trays and pushed them off to the side. Quinn's arm snaking around the boys shoulders as he gently pulled them closer together. It was like an addiction, he didn't want to leave much empty space between them. As though any space would be an insult to the time they were forced to spend apart.

Chewing at his lip in indecision he hesitantly begins "Rex . . . Do you think we can give you the sedative now?" His shoulders were tense, afraid that their peaceful moments would be ruined. So he quickly continues on "I can administer it, if it makes you feel better and I won't leave your side when they transfer us" He promises.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; width: 440px; padding: 3px; border: none; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;]
Rex had his eyes closed, feeling quite lazy. The food made him feel stuffed, something that he hadnt felt withing those months of being here. He leaned against his lover, relieved that he ate too. The male knew how horrible this place could be. Quinn was actually looking pretty well in his eyes. He seemed leaner and more muscular.

He hardly processed what the male said, opening his eyes and looking at him. "I suppose..." He mumbled quietly, shrugging. It couldnt be that bad, right? Besides, Quinn said that hed stay with him. That was certainly all of the comfort he needed at the moment.

  • Quinn once again forced himself to untangle from his lover, gently pushing Rex into a more upright position so he wasn't going to fall over when Quinn got up. His short walk to the slot was far slower this time. He didn't even have to wait before another tray slide through. On it was some disinfectant covered cotton pads and a small syringe.

He frowned at the contents as he grabbed the tray with a white knuckled hand. Quinn sits down to the side of Rex with his legs folded in front of him as he set the syringe on the ground beside them. He picked up a disinfectant soaked cotton pad held out his hand, waiting for Rex to offer up his arm instead of just forcing the needle into it.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; width: 440px; padding: 3px; border: none; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;]

Rex watched him, only growing weary when he saw the syringe. He hated needles. He sucked in a deep breath as the other walked closer, kneeling down next to him. He cradled his hand like a baby, chewing on his lower lip. He only shook his head, eyes wide. "No...I...I cant." He mumbled in a quiet voice, already feeling panic rising in his chest. He felt bad, as he wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. Despite his words, he held out a trembling arm, a perfect patch of skin right below his shoulder. Everything else was hidden under thick bandages.

  • Quinn was wary of the mixed signals Rex was giving him. However he knew that letting Rex mull over it with the syringe staring him down would probably only worsen the boys anxiety. Quinn hummed as he began to speak quietly as he swiped the cotton over the bare patch of skin gently. "Its going to be okay Rex. Its only a pinch love. No need to be afraid, I'm right here" He continued to murmur over and over again in an attempt to comfort.

He picked up the needle, remembering how those vultures had instructed him when they decided that this was the best course of action to safely get Rex to a different area of the facility. Quinn poises the needle over Rex's arm, his other hand holding that arm steady while still stroking his thumb in an attempt to soothe. He goes to press the needle into the boys arm.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; width: 440px; padding: 3px; border: none; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;]
He only nodded, squeezing his eyes shut and waiting. Once the needle pierced his skin, he stiffened for a split second before leaping up, yanking the syringe from his arm with a shriek. And just like that, he was consumed by insanity again. Granted, it wouldnt matter, as in a couple of seconds hed be out cold. The boy just spewed violent nonsense at everyone, even scratching at his own arms. Forunately, he didnt hurt himself. The young man was quick to go sluggish, only spouting more gibberish before he collapsed on the ground like dead weight.

  • Quinn was quick to scramble over to Rex's knocked out form on the floor. In a frenzied panic he tenderly checked under Rex's hair to see if he had hurt his head. He breathed out a sigh of relief when he didn't feel any spots wet with blood. Though it was likely Rex probably bruised himself with the force of his fall.

He stiffened when he heard the door buzz open. People in suits that protected them from the contamination in the room swarmed in. Two rolled in a gurney that had a plastic bubble over it, held up by tubes gently blowing fresh air into the space. They unzipped the plastic and several figures moved to pick up Rex but Quinn roughly slapped away the searching limbs. Glaring at the suits as he picked up Rex, only a small grunt escaping his lips, though Quinn was quite alarmed at how light the boy had become in his months here.

Once Rex was laid out on the gurney the zipped up the plastic again, and even though it was well ventilated Quinn was still uneasy. As soon as he took a step away from the gurney he was alarmed to find someone pushing a needle into his neck. He slapped a hand over the area after the needle was quickly removed, spinning around the punch whoever did it. But the quick movement made him dizzy and he stumbled before falling to the ground. All his senses were sluggish. Whatever had been in that syringe wasn't the same stuff they had for Rex.

It made him sluggish and compliant, but it didn't knock him unconscious. He was still aware of what was going on around him, but he couldn't seem to react quick enough to change the course of events. They began to roll Rex away and Quinn clumsily tried to rise to his own feet but was stopped by hands shoving him back down. He made some kind of strangled gurgle of protest when Rex was out of sight but was helpless to do anything.

He saw strange machines being rolled in and different trolleys with trays full of various equipment. Over the next 2 hours he was run through test after test. None really that pleasant. They drew a large amount of blood, leaving him even dizzier at the very end of everything. His arms were bruised and had patches of skin that were scraped off. His sides hurt from where they had hit him, testing to see how quickly bruises formed from different amounts of force. Some of his toe nails had been ripped off as samples, though they were now just heavily wrapped in gauze to stop infection..

All in all it wasn't pleasant. They shoved a tube down his throat and freezing liquid was poured down it. He began to choke on it as they quickly pulled it out and he tried to cough it up, but someone slapped a hand over his mouth and shoved his head back so that he was forced to let it go down. After that it was all a blur. He was barely able to comprehend what was going. Quinn thought they shoved him onto a gurney similar to the one earlier, he was rolled through blinding white halls, his sense to overloaded to make much sense of anything.

He was rolled roughly off the gurney at some point, he couldn't see Rex anywhere. Quinn did not know, but they had been placed in what may resemble a small apartment. All the walls were a plain white and everything was in monochrome shades and smelled strongly of antiseptic. There were four rooms. Two small bedrooms with only a small metal bed in each with a thin mattress and sheet. A single pillow placed on each. There was a small dresser in each that held changes of clothes, nothing fancy. Just pairs of grey sweats, underwear, and white t shirts. In the main room there was a couch and a small table that had a few Sudoku and word searches on it. Several plain ballpoint pens tossed on top of the puzzle books. A slot where food would be delivered was embedded in the wall in this room as well as the highly technical door that must lead to the decontamination chamber, and from there-out to the rest of the facility.

The last room was a bathroom that held a shower, toilet, and sink with hygiene products scattered on it ledge. There was a large metal drawer in the wall that could be opened and dirty fabrics could be tossed in.All the doorways held only curtains to give the illusion of privacy. There were cameras in the corners of every room, imbedded flat into the walls to avoid them from being torn out. Unbeknownst to Quinn, Rex was laid out on the bed in the other bedroom. Quinn was sprawled on the floor as he watched the swarm of suits leave with the gurney. He had no energy left to even drag himself onto the bed. So sprawled on the cold floor was where he was when he finally passed out. He was almost thankful that he didn't have to stay aware anymore, sinking into a pleasant abyss of nothing.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; width: 440px; padding: 3px; border: none; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;]

When Rex woke up, he was in a state of panic. The young man looked wildly around the room, pretty close to hyperventilating. Where was his beloved Quinn? Did the scientists take him and not bring him back? The dark haired male hardly noticed the throbbing pain in his head. He slid off of the bed, narrowing his brown hues. He already didnt like this place. It reminded him too much of a hospital than an actual home.

Rex slowly slid the door open, eyes darting around the living room suspiciously before they landed on Quinn. He couldve sworn that his heart stopped beating. "Quinn!" Rex rushed to his lovers side, gently prodding at his wrist to check for a pulse. Hearing his faint heartbeat calmed him down only slightly. Whatever tests the poor male had to endure seemed to be brutal. He slowly ran a hand through the others hair gently, scared that if he was too rough the blond might break on him.

Biting down on his lower lip, he fought tears that threatened to spill from his eyes. His heart was aching and he just felt completely awful. This was all his fault. Quinn looked just about as bad as he did. Rex didnt want the male hurting at all! He didnt deserve any of this. Very gently, the boy slid the other head onto his lap, simply waiting for him to wake up. He wouldve tried to pick the other up and take him into his room (as he had yet to explore the other two rooms), and let him sleep there. Unfortunately, Rex just simply wasnt strong enough. So in the meantime, he just gently played with Quinns long blond locks, anxiously awaiting for him to wake up.

  • Quinn slowly blinked his eyes open, humming at the pleasant sensation of someone playing with his hair. When he was able to focus his vision and saw the worried face of Rex over him he tried for a comforting smile though it came off as more of a grimace. He looked around the room through his peripheral, feeling to sore to move. Besides, leaning back in Rex's lap with gentle fingers running through his hair was a heavenly feeling.

He took one of his hands and stole one of Rex's hands on his hair to intertwine their fingers. "I'm sorry for worrying you." He murmured "I should have got up to look for you when I got here" Quinn wasn't sure where 'here' was. All he knew was that he had fallen unconscious in this room alone only to wake up with Rex right beside him. That must mean they had been moved to the multi room suite that he had been promised in the contract.

Quinn pushed out a large huff of air, cutting himself off when it produced a stab of pain in his sides. With his free hand he prodded at side, his brow furrowing when his search only yielded another stab of pain. Damn, they hadn't held back on those hits at all. Thinking back he was pretty sure he knew what kinds of tests they had run, but through out the ordeal no one had spoken directly to him. Just about him to someone with a clipboard who was writing things down. He closed his eyes again trying to take stock of what hurt.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; width: 440px; padding: 3px; border: none; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;][fancypost bgcolor=transparent; width: 440px; padding: 3px; border: none; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;]
He looked down at him, relieved when he saw his precious blond open his eyes. He shook his head at his words, frowning. "No you shouldnt have. Youre hurt enough as it is." He murmured softly. The boy hesitantly leaned down and kissed his forehead gently. His mind was clear at the moment, too worried for Quinn. "What terms did you agree to, Quinn?" He asked, though his voice was firm. He wanted to know exactly what they were--Quinn basically sold his life for him, and it killed him inside. To know that the love of his life was stuck in this shit hole, that he was going to probably turn up as crazy as he did. "Why would you do this?" HE blurted out, looking as if he was about to break down crying again.

    rushed,

    [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; width: 440px; padding: 3px; border: none; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;]

  • He made a shushing noise as he scrambled up with a pain grunt. Turning around and grabbing Rex's hand his other going to stroke the others cheek. "Its nothing you need to worry about Rex. Everything is going to be fine. I'm here to help cure you" He practically cooed trying to calm Rex down. His chest hurt and not just from the tests. He hated seeing Rex like this, and Quinn knew it was him who currently was making Rex distressed.

"I love you so much, you're all I've got Rex" He murmured, blue eyes searching Rex's face frantically for a sign that he understood just what Quinn was attempting to convey. "Please don't hate me for what I've done Rex. I'm doing it all for you. For us. So we can leave here and go back to our lives" He pleaded.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; width: 440px; padding: 3px; border: none; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;]
Rex only shook his head, looking down at his hands. "Stop saying that! You know damn well we're going to die here!" He spat out finally, glaring up at him. "Youre an idiot for coming down here." He muttered. Hearing the others next set of words, he just starting breaking down, crying. He was pretty irritable in this state, so mood shifts werent uncommon. "I love you too...I just wished you wouldve moved on.We arent going to leave. Hell, I can barely remember who I am half of the time! You couldve been so much happier without me! A-and now they hurt you and I just cant..." He trailed off, more or less turning into a rambling mess.

  • He tries to lighten the mood with a forced chuckle "I told you before, I've got attachment issues. Pretty sure those vultures think that I've got some kind of problem up here" he taps his head "but I don't care. I'd do anything to help you" Quinn hesitantly scoots closer gently grabbing either side of Rexs face and staring into the boys chocolate eyes with his own blue ones. "Don't ever feel like I shouldn't have made the choices I did. I don't deserve you. Did you know they told me that you wouldn't remember me the first week you were here. That it was a lost cause? But they let me into that observation room and I could hear you talking to no one in particular about me."

He takes another deep breath before continuing "I may or may not have broken someone's nose demanding they let me in then and there. I've never stopped fighting for you Rex. Its going to take more than me to get us out of here. If we work together we will have a chance. You just have to give it a chance"

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; width: 440px; padding: 3px; border: none; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;]
Rex watched him with pathetic eyes, resting his hands lightly on his arms."That doesnt mean anything. Im still crazy. Quit making yourself seem so useless...You mean everything to me. Seeing you in here with me kills me." He mumbled quietly. The dark haired male couldnt take it anymore. He leaned forward and wrapped his arms around the male in a tight embrace, crying. "Fine, whatever. I just want to go home and be normal again!"

  • Quinn snaked his arm around Rex and returned the embrace, tucking Rex head under his own as he nuzzled into his hair. "We are going to get through this together" he says determinedly. Quinn wasn't going to let on that he was scared. Not for himself of course, that would be borderline rational, and Quinn was anything but. He was afraid that once the disease, what ever it may be, took hold of him that he wouldn't be able to properly protect Rex anymore.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; width: 440px; padding: 3px; border: none; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify;]
Rex refused to move, practically clinging onto the male. He never wanted to let go. Come to think of it, why was he crying again? He couldnt remember. Surely it was something important though. This wasnt good at all. He hadnt ever forgotten something so fast. "Yeah, dead. Dont you realize it? They wanted you in here all along. You had contact with me when I was sick. They want you in here so they can just kill us off and not worry at all about this spreading." He stated darkly, an eerie chuckle leaving his lips. "The glass might be thick but my ears work fine..." The terrifying part--Quinn probably didnt know if that was true or not.

  • "No. No love that isn't what's going on" he promises with a firm voice. Though once a seed of doubt has been planted it is very hard to tear it out, roots and all. "We're to valuable." He says to reassure Rex and possibly himself "There is no telling if anyone else in the world has been infected, you were exposed to many people sick before you came here after all. If other people were contaminated they will need to know how to cure it." He soothes "They wouldn't get rid of their only data on disease"

Quinn is petting Rex's hair, though the motion is kind of quick and jerky. He wasn't lying about his attachment issues earlier. It was probably unhealthy how attached, obsessed, he was with Rex. The thought of Rex being in danger made something terrible and horrible snarl in his core. It probably stemmed with how he viewed Rex as his angel, the only light in his otherwise sh*t life. He was fiercely protective of Rex. Memories of violent outbursts where he would knock people unconscious if they made advances on Rex, though they did usually receive a warning first. Most of the time at least.
