[hey guys, so i had this great post typed up and lost it because my computer disconnected to the internet so? i apologize for how non-oneshot-ey this is, but i had to made a part two to conclude the other one, so just think of this as like a regular post?
anyway, paley has broken her front right leg, bruised her entire body, and bruised the bones on both of her back legs. she can't walk right now, and won't be able to for half a moon. a few days irl, a week at most.
i'd prefer if nobody notified the riverclanners that she's here, as she'll sort of be retrieved when a patrol comes hunting for her in a half moon ic. nonviolent actions can be powerplayed, and it should be noted that she's incapable of feeling pain, so nothing really hurts - her body has just sort of paralyzed itself.]

    she couldn't move.

the feline knew she was in skyclan territory, she recognized it easily. her cousin, mintyblossom, had been a medicine cat here. she'd spent several moons teaching palemoon herbs - part of the felines plan to be leader.

ha. she'd been so stupid, then.

the feline inhaled, exhaled. after throwing herself in the gorge, an attempt to kill herself like her father had, she'd been washed ashore by the river and managed to drag herself deeper in her semi-conscious state. she'd tried to kill herself, and like usual, her body had refused to comply, refused to die. she always seemed to survive the worst.

a groan escaped the young warriors lips and she tried to move, to stand up, but failed. finally giving up, giving in, the feline let her body stay still, as it seemed intent on doing, and instead craned her neck, desperate to see anyone who might approach.

    //NO PALEY NO//

Caramel had been strolling, when something caught her eyes. Is That? "Starclan!" She screeched, the elder quickly made her way over. "What Happened to you? Are you Alright? Do you Need Help?!" She asked, panic clear in her tone.

"Are you alright? Do you need help?"

Caramel's paniced voice rang loud and clear throughout the forest, alerting Audenine to somebody's misfortune. Judging by the urgency that filled her tone, the tom guessed that whatever had happened, it wasn't pretty. Thankfully, he had been out gathering what little herbs he could find before the snow got even worse. Wrapping the herbs into a bundle, he quickly made his way to the origin of the sound.

He wasn't expecting to see a RiverClanner on their territory. Especially not Paley of all people. He paused for a moment, blinking at the molly in front of him. He placed the bundle of herbs on the ground just to his side. "Palepaw?" Came a murmur, ears perking in shock and worry. "You look horrible. Er, sorry, that wasn't what I meant... Here, stay still, I'll look over you."

He briefly remembering that the molly was incapable of feeling pain. It could be a curse, in some situations, but to him it meant that he wouldn't have to use up any more painkillers. He wasn't trying to be rude or anything, but Littlebloom had taken enough already as it was. He would need to be frugal in order to make sure there was enough to last the rest of Leafbare... Never before had he cared so much about plants.

The tom sat just to the side of the she-cat, raising one of his paws to gingerly press against her limbs. A frown grew on his face as he worked, trying to find any sort of oddity. From the looks of things, she was having trouble moving, so it was likely that one or more of her bones were broken. He just needed to find out which one it was... "Caramel, could you go grab some sticks? Make sure they're sturdy and as straight as possible."

she had to say, she was thoroughly shocked to see audenine in a clan, and doing what appeared to be medicinal duties. quite some time had certainly passed since she'd last seen him, hadn't it?

an older female inquired about her state, and before she could respond, audenine was speaking. she snorted at his words, in no visible pain but her body a mess of twisted and wet limbs. "yeah, i've seen better days." she agreed, eying the limbs with a look of distaste. "it's palemoon now. been a while, eh audy? have you changed your mind on us clan cats?" she inquired in a half hearted attempt at smalltalk.

she tried to adjust herself and found herself unable to move the weak, heavy limbs. her jaw tensed in frustration, and she resisted the urge to scream at them. "i can't move." she informed the older tom, turning her gaze to him, half expecting an instant diagnosis.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]There had been quite a few strangers on SkyClan’s border lately, but this was one of the worst-looking he’d seen in a while. Wet fur, at least one injured leg, and the scent of fish. A RiverClanner, then, apprentice-aged. (Her name, she said, was Palemoon; though that raised a few questions, they could wait for another time.) How had she gotten over here? Chances were, it had been an accident – something involving water, but Nightstream wasn’t sure what it could be beyond that. He had some knowledge of RiverClan’s territory – mostly the river bit – but it wasn’t enough to give him an idea.

Nightstream winced in sympathy as Audenine pressed the stranger’s legs, but the stranger didn’t seem to be in pain. ”Need me to get anything?” His paws tapped nervously against the ground as he looked toward Audenine. He didn’t trust the new medicine cat completely, but it wasn’t his body at risk here.

Honestly, he was rather shocked himself. Joining a clan wasn't something he had ever thought of doing prior to Athustinia's death and Delphinia's disappearance. He had hated the clans, despised those who lived in them. After all, the clan cats were weak. Weren't they? That was what all of the older members of BloodClan had told him, after all.

Yet here he was, in SkyClan of all places, training as a medicine cat. "Palemoon, hm? That's a nice name." He complimented her, continuing to feel for any fractures or further breaks. "Some time, yeah. I've changed my mind on... A lot of things, really." Hah, that was the understatement of the century. He continued on, trying to fill the silence as he worked. "Oh, yeah, I heard you had kits. Congrats." He would neglect to add the fact that he had met one of them only recently.

Ah. Wait, there was something off. Poking at the leg for another several heartbeats, his suspicions were confirmed. One of her limbs had been broken during... Whatever it was that got her there in the first place. "Mm, I guessed as much. One of your legs are broken. The others don't seem to be broken, but you'll need to rest them for some time. Once I'm done here, I'll help carry you back to my den. You'll have to stay with us for a bit, the trip back to RiverClan would strain you too much."

He paused for a moment, looking back to the bundle of herbs he had brought with him. There was some comfrey root, which was definitely good. Along with it were several painkillers, none of which he would need. What he really needed were... "Nightstream, go see if you can find some cobwebs. As much as you can."

Although Mothdust was no medicine cat, she certainly had the experience and knowledge of one. Thus, she tended to act as a bit of an advisor to the youths that did hold such positions when they needed it. When she heard the commotion, she immediately slipped down into the gorge, careful with her paws and where she placed them so she didn't suffer Palemoon's fate. Quickly, she stood by Audenine as he inspected Palemoon's injuries. "Do you have bindweed on you..? Maybe burdock and dandelion, although I know they aren't necessary and simply ease the pain and speed up the mending process," the female said softly, ready to dash back to camp for whatever Audenine needed.

it certainly must have looked strange, to anyone who didn't know her and her intolerance. her body was a mess, and yet there she lie, frustrated and bored. then again, almost everything in the felines life looked that way.

"oh, haven't you heard? i've mothered my father, apparently." the feline said with feigned amusement, though her displeasure with what her son had becomr was evident in her features. but she fancied that was something to cry over another time, instead turning her attention back to the injuries.

she wasn't exactly happy to be stranded in skyclan, but there were wprse places. she quite liked many skyclanners, actually. "uh, thanks audy. glad to know i'm in capable paws.* she said, sighing once more.
