[justify][size=8]Despite whatever he may want you to think, Blueheart is not built to be a fighter. The most astounding thing about his body is how small it is; from the beginning, he’s been an undersized, scrawny cat, all bones and angles under his fur. Besides, he lacks the muscle characteristic of Clanborn warriors. But, while he doesn’t have any hidden strength or special skills (at least, as far as he knows), Blueheart can run like a hare. Quick, quiet, graceful on his tiny paws.

He’s not made for stealth, either. His pelt, made of short, fine fur, with blue-gray tabby marks curling on his sides and matching bands wrapping around his legs, is very visible in dark environments. It may not be a useful coloring, but Blueheart still takes pride in his fur. White spots rest on his chest and muzzle, and more white reaches up from patches on his paws. Dull hazel eyes, close-set and oval-shaped, sit on either side of his muzzle. Overall, he's not a bad-looking cat.

Unsurprisingly for his age, Blueheart bears no wounds. To him, scars are badges of honor — something he can be proud of.

[justify][size=8]For someone his age, Blueheart is remarkably mature. That’s what he’d like you to think, anyway, with his constant wandering where he doesn’t belong and his feeble attempts to imitate the actions of his Clan’s grownups. He’s always getting into others’ business, trailing around when he isn’t wanted, tripping over business talk, taking things too literally or forgetting the importance of context. It can’t be denied that he’s precise and a hard worker; though he was only a loner for a few moons, he was told many a time that, if he wanted something done right, he’d have to do it himself. But good working skills don’t always indicate adulthood. Oddly enough, his desire to grow up is one of the biggest obstacles in his way to maturity.

A sizeable part of his attempt to act like a full-grown warrior is attitude. Blueheart isn’t a typically fun cat to be around. While he spends most of his time out of his den, he’s almost always serious. And when he finds something he’s good at that someone else isn’t? Blueheart's the type to gloat about his accomplishments, whether they’re real or not. He’s also the type to add a bit to his stories if need be. A conversation with him can turn into a one-up contest if there are adults or cats he greatly respects present. He likes to be the best, as most cats do.

While he can learn a fair amount by watching and listening to his older Clanmates, there’s no substitute for experience, which Blueheart has very little of. The closest thing he gets is the storytelling that happens in the elders’ den, and who knows how many of those tales are true? Sheltered from a young age, he has yet to learn what can and can’t be trusted, what’s important and what isn’t. This gives him a kind of optimism that keeps him going, but it also has the capability to put him in danger, especially when coupled with his travels outside the safety of his home camp.

Blueheart can get so focused on what he’s doing that he forgets the world around him; in extreme cases, he’s been known to forget where he is. This, unfortunately, also extends to other cats. If you want to talk to him, there’s no point in following him while he’s working on something. On top of everything else, his tendency to ignore others does him no favors. His determination is admirable, perhaps, but he’s undeniably selfish, to the point where he rarely bothers to think of others’ feelings.

He doesn’t want to see new things — if he’s honest with himself, new things scare him. Blueheart has a remarkably low tolerance for changes; the bigger they are, the worse he handles them, sparking quiet breakdowns and sudden irritability. But his lack of an adventurous spirit doesn’t mean he fears knowledge. In fact, he’s hungry for it; he doesn’t need experiences, he needs words, and he’ll go to the ends of the earth for the sake of hearing the whole story. Medicine, hunting, fighting, the differences between the Clans: All of them interest Blueheart.

Perhaps surprisingly, he’s very open-minded, even when it comes to BloodClanners and half-Clan cats. Maybe it’s because he’s loner-born himself; whatever the reason, Blueheart is just about guaranteed to tolerate everyone who comes across his home’s borders, regardless of body, scent, or backstory. Similarly, he can make unbiased decisions, assuming he has all sides of an issue. He can side against his friends as easily as he can side with them.

The fastest way to hurt Blueheart is to criticize him; likewise, the easiest way to improve his mood is to compliment him. Under all his feigned maturity, he’s a sensitive cat full of insecurities. Even small comments cut deep, especially when they’re aimed at his personality or his body, two things he feels he can’t change. There’s a reason for this: Blueheart sets high standards for the rest of the world, but the requirements for himself are higher still, and he’s almost always falling short of perfection, no matter what he does. He’ll work until he’s happy with his performance, but it happens so, so rarely. As a replacement, he seeks the approval of his Clanmates.
