• Nebulacub finally found some peace in this crazy world she ended up.

The cub had snuck out of the loud noises and hectic atmosphere that was RiverClan camp, dragging an old book along with her as much as she could. Don't get her wrong; She loved her home and everyone in it, but she wasn't one to keep around everyone all the time. The leopard cub was a very solitary sort of gal. So the first chance she got, she began planning her escape from the prison known as the Nursery.

It was during her planning that she had found the strange book on the edge of camp. Maybe someone had left it there, or maybe she was meant to find it, but Nebby couldn't take her eyes off of such a strange looking object. The cover was an ancient brown colour with only the dark marking of an unidentifiable source on it's front. But anyone else with darker knowledge could have figured out what it was.

It was a book on the supernatural. Demons. Angels. Myths and legends.

So the small cub began to read, hoping that she wasn't disturbed.

Disturbance number one: Arkhampaw. He should probably make it his official profession, being a disturbance. Just because he was very good at it, things like that. He wanders around ruining peaceful moments with his loud mouth and less-than-peaceful demeanor like he gets paid for it, but he's not always like this. Seriously, if his friends would just get their lazy asses to RiverClan, all would be right with him. He'd mess with them instead of strangers, he'd stop trying to start fights with every person who held a position of authority, he'd just chill. But he's not, for now. He's obnoxious. So he doesn't hesitate before approaching the lone cub, cold eyes narrowed partially in thought as he glances over what she's reading. "What kinda shit are you into, tiny?" The apprentice laughs, mouth curling into one of his less dangerous grins, though it still seems as if he's making fun of her. He's not, really, that's just how he is.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0;width:420px;line-height:120%;text-align:justify;font-size:12px;font-family:arial;]Disturbance number two: Kali. However, the alabaster she-wolf was considerably less disruptive, especially since she had spent a greater time of her youth delving into stories and the like, and knew how frustrating it was to be disturbed. So her pawsteps were quiet, careful in their placement, and her maw remained shut even as she went to reprimand Arkhampaw for his foul language around the child. She didn't, instead shooting him a swift glare before her deep cobalt eyes were back on Nebulacub. This was one of Sylmae's girls, one of the children who were not carried off by a ShadowClan harpy eagle. She felt a twinge of sadness at the memory, a stab of remorse that she hadn't stopped him, and then it was gone. It was in the past, as she told herself more than enough, and nothing could be done.

"Don't believe everything you read," she advised gently. Kali was indeed a goddess, a being superior to the mortals around her, however even she had had run-ins with the supernatural, dangerous and otherwise. She just didn't want the child to be caught up in that world so quickly.

  • Nebby's eyes scanned across a fascinating page on summoning circles with rapt attention before it was broken to shards by the apprentice. The cub's paw underneath the cover jerked, closing it before she had any control over her fear. "H-Hey!" She squeaked in her shrilly voice, glaring up at Arkhampaw with a hurt look on her face. "It..It's nothing, but you just ruined it!" Dark ears flattened against her head, sitting down against the cold ground while pouting. "I was getting to the c-cool parts too.."

Then she jumped at the other voice, turning to face the she-wolf and the words she faced. The demi-angel flattened her ears further. "Why not? It's really c-cool.."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 490px; height: auto; font: normal 10pt arial; text-align: justify; line-height: 15px]"Please refrain from using foul language around children," she commented to Arkham, a frown momentarily on her features. Though she was definitely one to cuss, she never did it around children. Emilia then turned to the cub, a soft smile replacing her frown. "Believe what you like. Can I ask what you're reading about?"

Alright, he can't help it — he laughs. Arkham knows that he's an asshole, but come on, seriously? One glare and one comment-frown combination, and all it does is make him laugh. "So what's the magic age, huh? Day you turn six months old, your entire world changes? Nah. They'll hear it eventually, there's no point in covering their damn ears." With a roll of his eyes and a conspiratorial shake of his head meant for Nebulacub, he settles his attention back on whatever the kid had been reading. Kali's assertion that she shouldn't believe all of it makes him even more curious than he had been before, brows raised. "Don't be so secretive about it tiny. What, you reading about something weird?" He almost makes an innapropriate joke, but that's — yeah, he'll swear in front of them, but sex jokes are a no.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px; overflow: auto; font-size: 8pt; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana] Ron was never interested in the likes of reading, and wasn't very literate. She understood only the mere basics, but couldn't spell or read complicated sentences. When she saw the crowd from afar, she frowned. The horned feline made her way over with a curious tilt of her head. "Reading's complicated to me." Ron admitted with a shrug. "What's that book about?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 9pt; width: 420px; color: #FEBEFC;] Patch poked her head in next, looking to make sure someone was actually in there before padding in. Peeking over Nebula's shoulder, her eyes would scan the words before finding it uninteresting and setting back by Ron. She much preferred her coloring books to words, but she knew it was to each their own. Patch should probably try to read more. However, the likeliness of that happening were slim to none.

Mae said softly and looked over towards Arkham, her eyes almost daring him to test her. She didn't care if she lost her rank because of a threat she'd never follow through with, she wasn't going to let the boy bully and talk horrible around her child. "And don't push her to show or tell you anything she doesn't want to." Mae padded up beside Emilia and glanced over towards the female before she looked at the few others gathered and twitched an ear. She didn't approve of foul language and only used it when she needed it to.

Oh, daring Arkham to do anything was a bad idea. Faint blue eyes flash with the challenge of it as he turns to look at Sylmae. She may be older, but he's larger and probably a bit tougher, too. Even if she's mom, here. "Look, miss, swearing's not against the rules and I don't intend to stop for anything. And I'm certainly not going to sit still and let you touch me," he answers, dropping the typical relaxed slur for something sharp and precise. Maybe there was a reason he'd stayed in ShadowClan after all, they weren't nearly as fuckin' soft. The kids there were still kind, and make no mistake, Arkham's still the kind of guy who will die for the small ones, but this bores him. "I'm not asking anything that the others aren't already asking. So if you've got a problem with me, save it." Perhaps it's just to spite her, when he sits down. Because maybe it hits a sore spot, that she's someone's mom. That he didn't have one, and never would again.

"But I am sorry for disturbing ya, tiny. Especially now that you've gotta crowd. Seems like a good book, if you're that determined to read it."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0;width:420px;line-height:120%;text-align:justify;font-size:12px;font-family:arial;]Kali went silent as a group formed, soon consisting of the child's mother and godmother.
"It seems cool," she responded with a light, chiming chuckle, shaking her head before she continued on. Demons and angels were not toys, and she wished the child grew a bit older before she began to delve into that world. It seemed, to her, that at this age Nebulacub would just misuse the items. It was her hope that she didn't, but at this point that's all it was - hope.

Turning, Kali's cobalt blue eyes hardened in the slightest manner - her smile disappeared. "What a great example you all are for the child. Threatening and petty disagreements and cussing is just the right environment." Disappointment edged her voice as she spoke, with a deep crease of a frown. They didn't all need to fight, especially not over something so easily avoided.

  • Nebulacub looked around at the strangers who gathered around her and her book, and retreated to her mother's side with a small whimper. "I came here to be ALONE!" She wailed mentally, closing her eyes and taking a few deep breaths to keep her composure. "I-I..I was r-reading about demons and an-angels and all that. T-They seems so c-cool and I wanna..I wanna know more." The demi-angel hummed slightly.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=; borderwidth=0px; font-family: georgia; font-style: italics; font-size: 32pt; margin-top: 20px; letter-spacing: 0px; text-align: center; color: white; text-shadow: 0px 0px 10px snow;]Sylmae W.D.H[/fancypost]

    [fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; width: 500px; color: white; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 8pt;]
"Well, my love. You are part angel. So it does seem fitting you learn about the lot. I might be able to help you out, if you'd like, though I can't really make any promises. We can learn together." Mae said softly as she smiled at her daughter and she curled her tail over her back lightly as she glanced at the book. She loved little Neb's stutter, it was so cute and reminded her so much of herself when she was little.
