[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth: 500px][justify]This might turn out to be a complete failure but I've seen these threads around and they look fun so drop your character's name and I'll provide the opinion :^) My goal is to make most to be pretty in-depth (goal is a minimum of 250 words) b/c we all love reading about our babies but of course if Lorraine and your character haven't interacted all that much the length of the paragraph will be on the shorter side until they get to know each other <3 Thank youuu!
✶ PRESTON B. JONES
"tied to the tracks and the train's just coming, strapped to the wing with the engine running- you say this wasn't in your plan."
[hr][justify]Since the time that they met at her joining, Lorraine had grown to appreciate Preston's blunt (and sometimes brutal) honesty. She admires those who speak out when they feel that an injustice had occurred- Jones is one of these people. The soldier may believe that he is no good with words, but Lorraine considers his passionate outbursts during meetings and clanwide discussion as impressive rhetoric; he knows what he wants, how he wants it, and most importantly, how to communicate that so that others can understand and comply. Jones, although she doesn't know him completely, seems to have his sh*t together- compared to her, at least. On a personal level, Lorraine thinks of him as a close friend, if not a brother to her. She can trust him to follow through with anything he sets his mind to and just as a person in general; he is reliable. He demands the attention of those around him, and could easily fall into a leadership role in the future. Occasionally, his temper gets the better of him, and Lorraine worries about the toll that the anger might take on him now that he is making a habit of drinking whiskey. Of course, she recognizes the fact that he can take care of himself; Jones has the maturity to know when to stop- or, at least, she hopes. Preston is a very intelligent person socially and with relationships, so Lorraine would guess that he knows when and how to get help when he needs it- with anything, not just alcohol. Lorraine hopes to learn more about Jones in the future and develop a close bond with him, and wishes that he wants the same. He's a good soldier and a good man, despite his tendency to come off as abrasive to those that simply don't know him well. They share similar opinions, Jones and her, which helps a bit, but even if they didn't, Lorraine would probably feel the same way about him.
MEANING OF THE SONG LYRICS: - preston tends to see disasters before they happen and isn't afraid to speak out against authority to relay that message
[align=center]✶ BENJAMIN
"On and on, does anyone know what we're looking for? Another hero, another mindless crime? Hold the line, does anyone want to take it anymore... the show must go on."
[hr]
[justify]Benjamin. Truthfully, Lorraine... well, adores him, but also is ultimately concerned. Perhaps it is just in her personality to be worried, or maybe she was creating mountains out of molehills, but Lorraine was very aware of the fact that he was hurting. It is something that she, as a medic, could understand. He is so young-- so is she, so are they all-- but he doesn't seem to know of the most effective ways to relieve stress and release some of the pressure that continues to build upon him. He's critical when it comes to his own actions, yet when it comes to the mistakes of others, he is no other than accepting and understanding. Lorraine admires this; he doesn't start fights and keeps any verbal opinions neutral. However, she can't help but wonder what he really thinks about, well, anything. About the blood. The fear. The pain. Not only that, though; Lorraine wonders what he thinks of Scott, and Jones, Righthook- maybe even of her. She has a feeling that most of it would just be pure concern out of the health and well-being. That was simply how it was between a doctor and his patients. Except, it wasn't that one-dimensional. Ben knows all of the people he treats, many on a personal level, and Lorraine can see how much that bothers him. Every moment of the day, wondering who would be next, who he'd have to save, or worse, who he'd have to... let go. Lorraine wants to help him in any way she can, and shoulder the load. He is her friend, her colleague, as well as someone she looks up to; helping out around the hospital is the absolute least she feels that she can do. They are similar in such a large multitude of ways, not only in their language and general roles in the clan but also in their inherent need to maintain some privacy regarding their thoughts. In the future, Lorraine hopes that they will eventually be able to learn more about one another when they have the time. Everything, of course, is up in the air.
MEANING OF THE SONG LYRICS: despite whatever inner torment he is facing, the 'show must go on' in the sense that benjamin has to continue doing his job.[justify]
[align=center]✶ NORTH
"Fame if you win it, comes and goes in a minute- where's the real stuff in life to cling to?
[hr]
[justify]North is someone Lorraine has always wanted to get to know, but never really had the chance to yet. He is kind, attentive, and very good with children; fatherly. She hadn't been aware of another individual that was more kind without reason, or someone who did things mainly out of the goodness of his heart. North, from what Lorraine had observed, is almost always smiling, or making someone else smile. Yet, something about him... made her worry, for she knew that, oftentimes, the people that smile the most have the deepest emotional wounds. It is a very strange parallel, certainly, but Lorraine believed it to be a realistic theory. From time to time, Lorraine couldn't help but wonder what thoughts lay beneath his otherwise happy expression, and why he did what he did. He enjoyed children- did he have children of his own that he missed, perhaps? Did he... lose children? Or was he naturally just fit to be a dad later in life? Whenever he came to mind, Lorraine often had inquiries such as those. Overall, he was a good guy: tolerant, accepting, a good listener, and someone who always knows what to say. Lorraine hopes to see him rise high in the ranks, as she understands that the world needs a lot more people like him. To be so unconditionally kind to strangers and friends alike was a marvel to her, an introvert who is commonly at a loss for words. Whenever North is around, she feels better inside, as he is exceptionally good at dispelling any sort of negative vibes or tension.
MEANING OF SONG LYRICS: north always appears to be focused on being grounded and keeps his priorities very morally sound. he is constantly around the clan's children and is at nearly every joining there is, clearly involved with the clan's social affairs and keeping everyone around him content.
