ShadowClan wasn't the right place for him. He had been there for a single moon, one measly, fast-paced moon. He had gone to the clan in hopes of finding a new home, of finding shelter and companionship, of finding cats who actually cared whether he dropped dead or not. He had left BloodClan with the intention of repenting for his wrongdoings, becoming a better person... Most of all, he had left to escape the same fate that had befallen his siblings.

    Instead, he had been greeted with hostility, a chaotic environment and an unstable leadership. Scratch that, forget unstable. It was nearly unbelievable what had happened during that meeting. For a leader to simply give up their leadership like that, keeping their promise despite Thornfang never deserving of it in the first place... Well, needless to say, he had been surprised.

    Just - just kill him already!

    His own words rung in his ears as he walked, the tufted appendages flattened back against his skull. He had gotten so violent, so angry and bitter. Who wouldn't have, though? The elder's actions had raised hell, causing most who were present at the meeting to delve into battle. Clanmates became enemies as claws met fur, the whole of ShadowClan splitting in half. There were those who had opposed Thorn and those that supported him. It was horrible.

    But that was in the past now. He had left shortly afterwards, no longer feeling comfortable in the place that was supposed to be a safe haven. It was clear that many were uncomfortable with him, as well. Saying things about his heritage - he hadn't been born into BloodClan, but they didn't know that - about his morals, the way he smelled and acted and every other vile thing they could think of. He had retreated from the meeting, slipping out into the forest. Some time was taken to patch his own wounds, the aftermath of the fight, before he decided to leave entirely. Perhaps another clan would be more welcoming.

    What better clan to go to than SkyClan? The worst case scenario was that they turned him away. The best case? They didn't remember him and were sympathetic towards his plight, taking him into the clan and letting him join. Either way, he supposed he would find a new home soon enough. Hopefully this new home would be a permanent one.

    "Hello?" He called out, shortly after reaching the border. He supposed he should try to get some attention... "Is anybody there? My name is Audenine. I'm looking to join, if you'll have me." He hoped it wouldn't take long for somebody to notice him.

    the name was an odd one. sure didn't fit with the boy's shadowclan scent. his smell was musky and damp, a familiar one to the 22-month-old. she'd grown up in the clans, knew each unique scent of them. his name sounded foreign in contrast to the air he carried. it belonged to a kittypet. or a bloodclanner.

    starclan, for his sake it better not be the latter.

    morningrose stepped up to the lad, her sand grain coloured optics meeting his similar ones with a cold forewarning. he had guts, she'd give the kid that. stepping straight up to the border, announcing himself with his wish to join while the scent of another clan still lingered on his pelt.

    she took that beat of silence to take him in. the blue tabby markings; the long strands of fur cascading from him; the diminishing kitten down being replaced with maine coon undercoat. young but impressively sized, morning was unsure how capable she would be of keeping audenine down should a fight break out. then again, she was undoubtedly more trained than he.

    "morningrose," the bi-toned feminine would introduce herself. remaining ear flicking behind her, she wondered if stonejaw or thrushstar would be making their way over sometime soon or if she'd have to go fetch them. "you'll have to wait here. when a higher ranked member shows, then you may ask to join."

    the smell brought the apprentice over, having only caught morningrose's response. a joiner? and from shadowclan, of all things. a clan cat switching clans wasn't something you normally see, usually cats wander off too bloodclan or twolegs and that's the end of the line. green optics flickered from morningrose, to the fluffy maine coon. "hi! i'm cherrypaw." she said, with a small smile. "it's uncommon for a clan cat to switch loyalties, isn't it?" sure, it was dodgy, but this cat didn't seem like a threat, just someone looking for a home.

    hollypaw had been out hunting, stalking a squirrel when she heard voices in the distance. out of curiosity, the young feline made her way over to where audenine and the others were standing. audenine smelled strongly of shadowclan. the she-cat raised an eyebrow as her green-eyed gaze studied the newcomer. "hello," she said softly, giving the stranger a friendly smile.

  • FoxDancer was not the spit fire tortie that she normally would be, the sight the new comer was getting of the warrior would be an odd one that had become painfully common the last few days. Pale lavender eyes looked the new comer up and down, silence the only thing emitting from the white maw of the she cat who looked very much like a fox. On an average day? She would suit her name sake and be a little off putting towards the shadow clanner. Yet since MinkPaw had been lost not long ago, fox had barely spoken and she never seemed to happy or interactive, just sullen and down, existing but so numb.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify]There was a reason Nightstream hadn’t been given the -nose suffix; his senses weren’t the keenest, and the only scent he could catch wafting from the stranger’s pelt was that of ShadowClan. But another Clan’s scent was reason enough for suspicion. Then the stranger had gone ahead and given his name, a one-part, distinctly non-Clan name, Audenine. (Unless you counted BloodClan; considering recent events, Nightstream refused to.) Either of those things by itself was enough to condemn him.

    Ultimately, though, it was Thrushstar's decision whether Audenine was allowed in. Nightstream seated himself, fluffy tail over his tufted forepaws, watching quietly. If this turned ugly, there were enough SkyClanners here to prevent another disaster.

    // oh hey imm!!

    Several had gathered already. He eyed the group that had approached, nodding in response to each of their greetings. "Hello." Came his reply, his tone soft and genuine. It was obvious that he was trying to not come off as a threat. The last thing he needed was to have to relocate to yet another clan.

    From the short time he had spent there all those moons ago, the clan seemed relatively peaceful. It was held together well, a definite plus considering what had happened in ShadowClan. He had left shortly after the old leader had died. Who was it that was chosen in her place, again? Thrush... Something? He supposed it would be Thrushstar now, wouldn't it?

    What about that other tom, her deputy? Was he still around? Pollenfrost, his name had been. The apprentice wrinkled his nose for a split second out of habit, remembering the scar that the SkyClanner had given him. At the time, he had been enraged by the thought of letting a SkyClanner leave a permanent mark on him. Soon after, he had grown proud of it, viewing it as proof he had participated in that fight and won. Now, it was simply a memory of who he used to be.

    The cobwebs and poultices that covered his wounds itched, but he knew better than to scratch at them. If they were to come off, he would have to go reapply them. That wouldn't be too annoying, but it was best to avoid such a thing happening. He didn't want them to end up infected. Who knew what diseases that elder had...

    "Okay, thank you." He spoke after Morningrose directed him to stay where he was. He took the time to sit down, his long, fluffy tail trailing off behind him. Afterwards, when Cherrypaw spoke up, he would turn his gaze over to the apprentice. "Yeah, I guess so. But, uh... ShadowClan's just not right for me. It's kind of a mess right now. Thornfang isn't fond of non-clanborn cats, for one. Others outright hate us. I wasn't welcome there anymore, so... I left."

    "you are allowed the stay with skyclan, however, we shall discuss the terms of your joining in my den." thrushstar arrived just in time to overhear the conversation. audenine had grown up quite a bit, but the tabby leader still recognized him as ashkit, the seemingly innocent kitten that had come to skyclan as a spy. she hadn't been sure of it at the time, though now all the puzzle pieces started to fit together. audenine was born a bloodclanner. however, she made no notice of the fact and wore her usual poker face. yes, they would certainly have a lot to discuss.

    // no that's totally cool!

    There she was. It had been several moons, but he could still recognize the molly who stood before him. Last time they met, she had only been a warrior. Now, it seemed that she held much more power over the clan than she had previously.

    He had not been born to BloodClan, as many would assume. For the first couple moons of his life, he and his littermates had let a relatively sheltered life with their mother. Their father was absent, an all too common situation. Soon, she too left them, discarding them on some sidewalk deep in the city. She had left with promises of bringing back a surprise. The only surprise they got was being accepted into BloodClan, another molly taking their mother's place.

    But he didn't want to think about his past too hard. Honestly, he was hoping to be able to forget about it entirely. He was different now, he had changed. He had discarded the loose morals that aBloodClanner would usually have, if they had any at all, in favour of accepting the ideals of a Clan cat. He wasn't the same naive little kit he used to be.

    "Thank you." Came his reply as he raised back up onto his paws. The part about the terms of his joining being discussed further certainly wasn't a good sign. Did she remember him, too? It was a pretty likely that she did. Well, he had already been accepted in. It was best to just go along with whatever she wanted.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=Transparent; border: 0px;width: 500px; margin-center: -5px; overflow: hidden; text-align: justify; font-size: 11px;]. Mothdust was next to arrive, light green eyes curious. However, she was reserved and cautious, so stuck to the back of the group without voicing a greeting to the newcomer like the others did before her. The white and dusty brown tabby tapped her right hind paw twice, listening to Thrushstar and the others.

    From what she heard, Audenine's claims were true, and ShadowClan was having internal disputes over leadership and such. She knew well enough that it wasn't pretty. However, the molly wouldn't welcome him more than she did any other joiner, not because she didn't like how he was formerly of a different clan or that said clan was having problems, but merely because she was too shy to venture much out of her comfort zone.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=;border:0;width:400px;text-align:justify;font-size:8pt]
    "i'd like to see you in my den after we return to camp, please." thrushstar meowed with a pointed stare. the young tom's arrival in skyclan sparked her curiosity. why had he left bloodclan, and why did he come to skyclan? the last time he'd been here, she was sure it was with the intention of gathering information for bloodclan. however, thrush could tell something had changed within the tom.

    She wanted to see him in her den? Huh. Well, that was reasonable, he supposed. It had never happened to him before, but he supposed it hadn't needed to happen. When he had joined BloodClan, he was simply a young kittypet. Not a threat in the slightest. When joining ShadowClan, Moonflower had vouched for him and Sparrowstar surely had more on her mind than him alone. Now, though, things were a little different. "Ah... Right."
