Slowly, he had become unable to see anything far away, having to squint just to see what was far ahead. Now he could barely see much at all. It was frightening for the pup, as he was used to the world being all normal and in actual shapes. Instead, they were all blobs of colors. Was he going blind? Tears welled up at the thought, but he quickly blinked them back. He wasn't a crybaby, he'd shed enough tears. He fought down the panic, glancing around for any distinguishable blobs.

"I...can't see anything," he awkwardly said to himself. He wasn't sure if anyone would hear him, but he hoped they would.

[justify][size=8]Vanillapaw poked her head outside of the medic's den, her head tilted to the side with confusion as she saw the little pup cry. What was wrong with him? Slowly, the serval dragged her paws over to Mae Hughes. She paused as the son of her former mentor spoke up, ears swiveling backwards.

"What do you mean, Hughes?" Vani asked softly, blinking her amber eyes with pity for the male.

He could only guess that it was Vanillapaw, smiling in relief. She'd definitely know what to do, being the medic apprentice. "Uh, everything is kind of...blobby? Fuzzy? he wasn't sure how to explain it. He just couldn't make anything out.

It might've been a complete assumption, but it was possible. The horned feline kept her paws to herself, despite how tempted she was to poke him in the eye for no reason.

Mae had never met someone who was actually going blind, before and the idea bothered her a little bit. She flattened her ears as she padded forward and looked towards the child before she glanced at Vani and Ron and then let her eyes fall onto Vani. "Is there a way to tell if he truly is going blind or if it's just a passing phase?" Mae asked softly. She really was hoping that the small child wasn't going blind because she really didn't want to watch him suffer.

He wasn't going blind, was he? He wanted to keep seeing things, there was so much that he hadn't seen yet. He couldn't go blind yet! It wasn't fair. He whimpered at the thought.

[justify][size=8]Vanillapaw let out an irritable huff at Verona's bluntness. "Don't scare him, you aren't the medic apprentice." She grumbled with a passive aggressive tone that could only have been inherited from her mother; Coralie Mae.

She turned her attention to Hughes, shrugging her shoulders at Sylmae's question. She wasn't planning on replying to her question, she just wanted to focus on the child. She stepping in front of the child and leaned forward. "Can you see me clearly or am I blurry?" The fem asked, tilting her head.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 9pt; width: 420px; color: #FEBEFC;] Patch stumbled in as happy as could be. However, seeing her half-brother Hughes's tears made her stop humming the song that was stuck in her head. It kept playing there, but she wouldn't say it out loud as a courtesy! Her pink and yellow eyes peered closer at him. "His eyes look fine to me! Did he look into the sun for too long? 'Cause I did that once and my vision went all weird, too!" Patch was somewhat proud of her little knowledge, but didn't say much else until is was confirmed or denied to be true.

It was better now that she was closer and not so far away. "Uh, a little bit, yeah," he replied, narrowing his eyes. He seemed offended by Patchwork's words, frowning. "No!" he yipped defensively, puffing out his cheeks in embarrassment. He may or may not have done it one or twice, though, but he wouldn't say that out loud. You live and you learn, he supposed.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px][justify][size=10][font=timesnewroman]"Did you hit your head возможно?" Vasilisa questioned aloud, approaching after Patchworkpup and eyeing Hughes curiously. Couldn't head injuries negatively impact your vision? It had happened to мама before she died and left Vasilisa all alone in the world. The young Russian glanced to Vanillapaw expectantly, almost expecting that the young Medic Apprentice would be able to miraculously cure the child.

  • He couldn't see? What was there to fix that? Octoberkit was utterly clueless on herbs and other hting slike that, so he couldn't even hazard a guess as what would fix this. If the pup was actually going blind, could anything even reverse that? Was it possible? "I hope you can get this fixed," he said, hopefully not betraying his worry in his tone. What would they do with the canine if he couldn't see? Would he be able to get a power that would allow him to see? Octoberkit had hoped for a power, to overcome what the twolegs had done to him.
