  • [fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; color:; font-size: 8.5pt; text-align: justify; overflow: auto; width: 500px;]It was a long time coming, emphasis on the long. 900 posts later, and the girl was still a kitten. Well, in her name she was. But it was time she became what she really was; an apprentice. And yes, she was extremely excited to do so. Becoming an apprentice meant so many things; people would stop looking down at her, stop disregarding her, she would be looked up at. She was getting older. If only her Dad could see her now. One of them could, at least. As soon as this was over, she was going to visit Blizzardclan and see her Dad, Circusclown, and tell him of her new name. He would be happy and so would she... it would be a step, at least. Breathing in and breathing out, the dark grey tabby walked up the massive staircase that wound around the tree trunk. Sturdy and nice. It reminded her of the time O'Fraiser was being afraid of walking up it because of heights. She'd found it extremely funny at the time but after she realized it was the same fear as hers for water, she stopped laughing. The girl shook her head, used her paw to brush out the fluff that poofed her cheeks and mustered a real grin at the crowd of npcs below her. "Yo. Friends and family-" Yeah, the girl was finally considering some of her friends family now.. slowly. "-it's come to the age where I'm.. well, becoming an apprentice. So for that, I have to change my name. And so my new name is Littlepaw. Of course, you can still call me Lit and whatever but I just though you'd want to know." She gave a thrilled little chuckle.

Finally growing up, huh? Yeah. Finally.

Much to his surprise, Darkknight finds himself smiling. One of those rare things that are entirely honest, without a false flash or warmth. It's always strange to watch people grow up. He remembers being there for Boy both times, Boycub to Boypaw, and then — well, it wasn't the same. Coming back from the dead to find that his best friends went by something else now. (That the name came from him, of all things.) But he didn't want to linger on that, not when the kid was standing up there with a grin that he finds himself glad to see, and an announcement that he finds himself glad to hear. It didn't change much in his opinion, it wasn't as if one day made a difference between childhood and adolescence, adolescence and adulthood, but it was still a stepping stone. "Congratulations," he calls back, taking a seat. "Now you've got even more to do." It's a joke, strangely enough, even coming with a chuckle. "You'll do great as an apprentice."

She finds herself smiling back. It's odd for him, she knows. And it's one among the first times she's seen the dark lion actually smile like that. It's nice. It's also good to know that this small but impactful event has done that. "Thanks, homie. Ya chill." She responds with a nod at his congratulatory comments, but giggles at the joke, tail tip twitching. It's a good day, despite all the shit that's been going down in the previous week. It's something that lifts the mood, even if for a second. "Say.. aren't ya supposed to be teaching me something?" The apprentice questions, inclining her head to the side and studying him. She remembered asking him to teach her to write when she turned into an apprentice.. but she also wanted him to teach her to fight. If he wanted to, of course. It was just that she knew he was good in battle, probably the same skill as Ichigo and that must mean he's amazing at fighting. She want's to be amazing at fighting too.

He came padding over when he heard Littlekit - er, Littlepaw's voice, nonexistent brows raised as he listened. "C- Congratula- lations on your new n- name," Alphabetcub said with a smile. This was making him wonder about the future, where he would be and what he'd be like.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; color:; font-size: 8.5pt; text-align: justify; overflow: auto; width: 500px;]As her favorite little lion cub walked over, the apprentice found herself glowing. Whilst she was a normally modest girl about these kinds of things, she rather enjoyed the praise that came with being an apprentice. She straightened up. She remembered that when she'd been an impressionable young thing, she'd taken anyone older then her as a role model. Maybe Alphabet was the same? She hoped not, actually. She would be a shit role model with all her vulgar language, stupid decisions and everything else. Oh well. Offering him a half grin, the tabby shrugged her shoulders. "Thanks boo." Littlepaw responded, eyeing up the runt sized cubs necklace, especially the word crybaby. Sad. She wondered if that had been self chosen for him or someone had given it to him. Did he know what it meant? Nah, of course he did. She had to remind herself that if she were in his place, she'd despise being treated like a baby (and she still did), so she shouldn't do it to him.

The wolf snickered, dragging himself to the group with sleepy in his eyes. Having went from sky islands to the ground had made him drowsy- he just didn't know why, but that didn't mean he couldn't throw in puns when he got the chance. Puns were his damned life. "Congrats on livin' this long, kid."

The smile doesn't fade. If anything, it only grows brighter with her response, to the point that it almost hurts a little bit. He's not used to smiling, not like this. Usually it's just something you see around his eyes, if you're one of the few people that look closely enough for that. That's intentional, for the most part. It takes time for someone to learn the subtleties of his expressions; most of the time, only B can get the full extent of it. (They've known each other for almost a year now, just a few months short. Of course he knows the most.) But more than that, he likes knowing that people can get to know him like that. Darkknight chuckles heavily, low and deep in his chest. Her remark has him raising his brow slightly in thought, because of course he remembered what he'd said, and it's not like he would mind teaching her at all. Whereas he would likely butt heads with someone else (though he would still insist on teaching Roguecub at least partially when that time came), she would be a good apprentice. "If you still want to learn, we can start whenever," he promises with a dip of his head.

He remembered when he was leader and they still did naming ceremonies. Now when it came to the clans that seemed to go to nothing as they didn't really seem to exist anymore. All the clanners seemed to get the understanding though that when someone got a certain age that their name ultimately ended up changing. When Ichigo first arrived in the clans, the armored wildcat was extremely confused why everyone seemed to have different names at different ages. If he remembered correctly he probably ended up asking Salixcloud what it all meant before his thick head could wrap around the topic of something like that. Interesting his mind if someone asked him, as his name is a lot different than most of the clanners. Yet there were a couple that were here that were able to understand that his name is in japanese. When he often introduced himself, the over sized wildcat ended up saying his last name first and his first name laughed. Confusing plenty of his clanmates when they first heard it, and they sometimes called him by his last time. Which made Ichigo say that there wasn't a need to be formal by using his name and explaining that they should use his first name instead. They often looked at him like they were a deer in front of headlights and it seemed quite amusing toward the Japanese speaking male. He had also remembered the first time that Littlekit, now Littlepaw had joined the clan. The female had just escaped from the exiles and was completely exhausted once she had landed in Hawkclan. He immediately felt the urge to protect the young female for anymore harm that could come of her. She was a great asset to the clan, but also a good friend of his at the same time. He would never change anything about her. Well maybe one thing, and maybe that would just be that he wished that her jaw was better. He knew that it was a self conscious issue with the dark hued domestic cat about her crooked jaw. He knew this and he didn't judge anyone for the way that they looked. It's understandable why someone would be worried about the way that they looked. Did others consider him to be a father figure toward the Sentinel though? He wasn't sure if he was willing to call himself that. She had fathers after all and had her own life to live. She wasn't his daughter.

He didn't want to use that term when talking about Littlepaw though, as it just brought bad memories. Memories that Littlepaw had brought up several months ago. He didn't blame her, it was just something that ended up happening too quickly for him to really react to it. The over sized cougar's ears perked when he heard a familiar voice. He raised his head from where he was laying down trying to get his body from hurting so much. From there the Hawkclan leader lugged himself up onto his paws and began to make his way over toward the slowly growing group. He of course noticed Alphabet, followed by Win and then there was Littlepaw standing proudly about the fact that she got her new name. A grin couldn't help but spread across his jaws. This is a milestone for any clanner. It showed that they were able to live and battle through their life struggles to get to this point. A rush of pride went through the Hawkclanner as he made his way over toward his friend. "Congrats pipsqueak. You'll do great." Ichigo stated as he raised one of his paws and aimed to ruffle the top of the females head. Which he felt like he hadn't done in a while. The voice in the back of his head dissipating for a good amount of time so there was that as well. After that though, the cougar would sit himself down and look between the massive lion and the domestic cat. Training? What kind of training exactly? The curiosity is on the others face, but he keeps his mouth shut. He couldn't feel if the pride is evident in his eyes as he can't really look at his reflection right now.

  • [fancypost bgcolor=; bordercolor=transparent; color:; font-size: 8.5pt; text-align: justify; overflow: auto; width: 500px;]Hearing Axel's pun comment, she rolls her eyes but there's still a grin tugging at the working side of her mouth, golden eyes bright as she turns to the maned wolf, a new addition to the clan might she add. "Maybe. Maybe I'll hold a big ass lit party, just for you. But thanks." His last comment makes her think for a moment, tail tip twitching. Was it a good thing she had lived this long? Was it really? She wasn't sure... well, of course it was but sometimes.. jesus, she didn't want to bring up that memory. Littlepaw pressed her scarred wrists into her belly fur and turned back to Darkknight, dropping the memory in the darkest corners of her mind for the now. This was a happy moment and nothing like that was going to ruin it for her. At his response, her shoulders relax more and she lets out a laugh, content with her new mentor. "Yay! We can be like the Karate Kid and his Teacher. Can you show me how to be all badass too?" She's joking now, of course, but there's a glint in her eyes; she wants to learn more then writing and calligraphy and all that. More important stuff, like fighting. Maybe if she had him teach her, she wouldn't be as screwed next time in battle.

Littlepaw remember's joining Hawkclan too. Vividly. She had still been so young, although not as innocent. She had just, after all, fled the Exiles. There was a reason she was still morally and emotionally scarred to this day. Stretching her claws, she recounts the first few days. The members had been dwindling and No-name (the loner guy who she had grown warm to) had tried to nick freshkill and she'd given him a vole, standing besides Ichigo and Cytus. Those were cute days.. and they didn't even feel that long ago. Funny, huh? The dark grey tabby analyzes the armored cougars face as he pads up and recognizes the pride that glints in his eyes. She also spotted the grin. The familiar nickname (which she both loved and hated to hear because only one guy could get off unharmed calling her that and it was Ichigo) and the ruffle of her head. All familiar actions that made her heart glow. "Thanks, Boss-man." Littlepaw salutes, and then mimics her younger self by attempting to bat at his paw, wondering if he'd get the reference.
