Tokyo Ghoul
We Ghouls do our best to fit in, look human just isn't enough in a world like this. Humans continue to make new ways of discovering our identities though. Such as detecting our RC cell counts, they have machines installed everywhere. Schools, company buildings, movie theaters, libraries, train stations, airports and even restaurants. As the Years pass it becomes more difficult to blend in. Some Ghouls refuse to kill for their food, which is why organizations such as Antieku exist to tip the balance into the favor of weaker ghouls. In the districts, there is always dangers at all sides and times but these organizations look to protect and keep peace. We wear masks to hide our faces from the CCG, a Company that blew up in popularity when they discovered how to kill us more efficiently... By using our own claws, commonly known as kagune. It's a fight to blend in and survive, but maybe it's time to do more than survive and hide.
Types of Ghouls
Ukaku
- Long and short range attacks
- Lightweight Kagune, able to crystallize from 'gas form'.
- High speed attacks
- Run out of stamina quickly
The appearance of a Ukaku Kagune is that of an electric charged set of wings.
Koukaku
- High density of cell structure
- High body sturdiness
- Also a faster type of Ghoul
- Weight of Kagune can be difficult to handle. Fit physique apparent in skilled opponents.
Protruding from the back of the arm as a powerful spear or blade like shape.
Bikaku
- Often has a powerful trump card to tip the scale of battle.
- Well balanced, due to 'tail' like abilities of Kagune.
- Sense of stability, especially during battles.
- No outstanding weak points.
Can often look like a scorpions pincers it comes from the tail bone, acting as a lethal striking tail or 'support leg'.
Rinkaku
- High regenerative powers
- High striking power
- RC cells bind easily
- Kagune is brittle
Three or Four is the common number of this kagune, which can take shape as that of an octopus, spider, centipede, crab legs or 'scaled' tails. Six is rare and hints to a large human or cannibal diet.
Chimera
- Extremely rare genes, taken from both parents' Kagune types. Inherits attributes of both type's.
- High striking power
- Stamina unknown.
- RC cell's unpredictable.
Retaining the gene's of two separate Ghoul-Type parents is rarely seen or heard of. Much like The One-Eye'd Ghoul, a combination of two types is believed to strenuous on the user's body. For example:
Ukaku and Rinkaku - levels of regeneration would be extraordinary as well but would require a large, constantly sustained diet. Thus the powerful attacks, regenerating cells, high speeds.
One Eye'd Ghoul
Believed to be a legend among the species, a one eye'd Ghoul is said to be more powerful type known. With all attributes the same as any Ghoul, the only difference is their slight hint of human scent and only one eye to indicate an activated Kagune. Half breed's are created either by a human parent and a ghoul parent, or by transplanting the Kakuhou organ that Ghouls have to use the RC cells for Kagune. Research determine's that human women do not survive after full term due to undernourishment.
Suits
These are men and women who carry briefcases containing refined weapons made from different kagune. Known as a Quinque, this weapon is a tool of destruction in the hands of a skilled investigator. Their sole jobs are to track down murder crimes involving the Ghouls, and keeping them in order varying in each district. Rule of thumb as a Suit is to always have a partner to watch ones back, no single person should ever take on a ghoul alone. Most Humans refer to us as the CCG or Investigators but among the Ghoul community we are the Dove's.
Genetic Quirks among Ghouls: GQG
Pseudo-Electrokinesis
The Kagune while in use may be surrounded by a lightning-like aura, capable of generating electricity that can be utilized in an offensive and destructive manner. This is not a learned characteristic, but is hereditary, originating from the Kakuhou organ. Note this ability may be passed onto a Quinque weapon.
Pseudo-Pyrokinesis
To the knowledge of the CCG, Ghoul's who carry this Genetic attribute are only able to use it in Kakuja form. The mutated RC cells are able to generate heat, as well as flames reaching up to 4000 degree's Celsius. It is unknown whether or not a Ghoul can survive the use of their hereditary ability. Note this ability may be passed onto a Quinque weapon.
Healing
In both an ukaku and rinkaku ghoul this skill has been present, as it may also be an ability all RC cell types are capable of. The wounded may be healed from injuries such as large fatal wounds, even needing whole bones replaced. Whether they are another ghoul, human, or the owner of the healing kagune. The time sets of healing varies from skill levels, some wounds may take longer to heal than others. Unlike electrokinesis, healing is not just hereditary but can be learned and improved over time with experience.
