  • Kissingkit hid behind his mother, he didn't like what his siblings were doing at the moment. Kissingkit didn't think that his siblings were being kind to each other and so he thought that wrestling must be bad, he looked up at his mother, expecting her to call them off.

  • Dreamkit squeaked as she was being pinned down by her brother. She kicked Godkit's belly with her hind legs, trying to get him off.

  • Soulkeeper watched the kits in their play, she didn't like the harsh nature of her little daughter but she said nothing, it was important for kits to establish their own pecking order right from the get go otherwise the group would have many problems later in life. Perhaps this would bring them closer in the end. With a smile she licked Kissingkit's head, "It's just play little one. It'll be alright, they'll learn." she reassured calmly.

  • Darkkit padded slowly back over to Soulkeeper, sitting beside her and watching his siblings play. "I liked it better when we couldn't see anything," he complained, letting out a cry of pain when he sat down on his own tail.

  • "Now, now, you'd sit on your own tail more often if you couldn't see it." Soulkeeper said picking him up off of his tail and setting him down again more gingerly than he'd sat down, "Besides, over that, you couldn't be a warrior if you couldn't see." she purred, she knew already that darkkit would make someone a great apprentice.

  • Dreamkit squirmed under Godkit until she was free. She rushed to her mother's side and pressed her right ear against Soulkeeper. Suddenly, everything was completely silent. Dreamkit squeaked in confusion.

  • "What if I don't wanna be a warrior?" Darkkit murmured drowsily, pressing against Soulkeeper's soft fur, just to be jolted upright again as Dreamkit bolted towards them.

  • "Well, you can be whatever you want to be, but you can't be much more than an elder if you were blind." Soulkeeper purred, her sentance barely out there she turned to her squeaking kit, "Dreamkit, what is it?!" she mewed in shock nudging her kit a few times wondering if she was hurt

  • Dreamkit felt her mother nudging her. She looked up at her mother, moving her head so that her ear wasn't pressed against her. Suddenly, there was sound. The kit could hear the usual rustle of moss and her mingling clanmates. "Why was everything quiet earlier?" she asked curiously.

  • "What do you mean little one? Nothing wen-" The white queen's sentance droped as her beautiful golden eyes met the mis-matched gold and blue gaze of her daughter and she remembered what the med. cat had once told her when she was preparing to have her kits, a kit with blue eyes was likely to be deaf. Did that mean that Dreamkit was deaf in one ear? that would explain some things... "Could you not hear with your right ear covered, sweety?" Soulkeeper asked softly, her face serious, but not grim, it wasn't too big of a deal if this little one was half deaf, sure it'd be a weakness but if she had even an ounce of her father's percerverance she'd be fine.

  • Godkit smiled and walked over to his sister and pawed her left ear "is this one broken mommy" he mewed sadly nudging his sister trying to make sure she was ok.

  • Darkkit watched, his eyes wide. "Someone broke her ear?" He padded up to her, blinking and licking her ear. "I-Is it better?"

  • Soulkeeper laughed, "no she's not broken, and neither is her ear." She purred, "It just means she can't hear out of one ear, she'll be ok. She's tough just like her mama." The white queen meowed proudly licking dreamkit, both their white pelts brushing against one another. Soulkeeper would have prefered to say as tough as her daddy, but she didn't want to bring that subject up again.

  • Darkkit looked up at Soulkeeper with wide eyes. "What about me, mama?" He asked quietly. "Am I tough?" His voice was filled with nothing but a kit-like innocence that could melt the heart of the sourest cat.

  • Before soulkeeper could reply the, until now, silent Nightwing spoke up, "Of course you are." he meowed pride in his voice, he was one of those sour cats that just happened to have a highly unlikely love for kits and apprentices, he didn't do well under the judgemental gaze of his peers but he was, deep down, a wise grand toutor. "You're a great tabby just like your father." He meowed strongly.

  • "Where's my father?" Darkkit asked in that same quiet voice, strangely mature for a kit yet still filled with plain curiosity, hardly recognizing the fact that he'd just received a wonderful compliment.

  • "I don't know yet little one." Nigtwing meowed, "But when i get a chance i'll go look for him, i promise." The black and slightly white tom meowed down to the mature little tabby. It was odd for Heartedfool to be away, he was desperately excited about his kit's arival and now.... now he'd up and disapeared? It wasn't like him to get cold feet and even if he had he'd have come back since Soulkeeper would be alone... he'd never leave her.

  • "Why did he leave?" Darkkit pressed, padding closer to the tom and sitting down in front of him, draping his tail across his paws, his eyes wide with interest.

  • "He went on a patrol to make sure the clan was safe, but as your mother could not acompany him and i was out with my apprentice, he went alone, and has yet to return." Nightwing said in a hushed meow, hoping not to upset the white she-cat playing with her daughter and her blue sons.
